Hello again! It's been too long!

Thank you for your patience, you guys, and gals, are literally the greatest! I felt really guilty about leaving for two weeks. I got a comment saying I should take my time, which was so sweet and it just made me smile, so thank you!

I had a long, hard brainstorming session and I quite like what I've written. I hope you'll enjoy it as well!

How do I even do this?

Oikawa Pov

'-so then she said 'step back' in this super serious tone.' Makki said, doing an impression of our, or at least my, favorite blonde. I can't say I was very impressed though, because he basically broke down in a fit of giggles every other word. He wasn't the only one having a good time, both Chi-chan and Iwa-chan were trying desperately to suppress the chuckles that were threatening to spill from their mouths.

'That's when we decided to step in.' Matssun added. 'I wish you two could have seen the looks on their faces. They looked absolutely gob smacked.'

Surprisingly, Iwa-chan was the first to break, throwing his head back as he laughed heartily. It wasn't fair really, he has such a nice laugh. However, the only time I got to hear it was when he was laughing at my expense.

'You guys really just went for it, huh?' He said before shaking his head with a grin, 'I can't believe it. You thought of unscrewing the hinges of the door, but never once tried actually opening it?'

Chi-chan finally dissolved into giggles as well, though she tried to be polite about it and hide her smile behind her hands. It didn't really work, but I appreciated the sentiment.

'Woah, that wasn't me, let me make that very clear. That was all Suzumi.' I said defensively.

'Speaking of Hiyo-chan,' Chi-chan said, clearing her throat, 'what's taking her so long?'

It was true, Suzumi was taking her sweet time to get here. Here being the front of the gym. Exams were starting next week, so practice had been cancelled today, as well as yesterday. It would give everyone some extra breathing room to study for the tests.

The six of us had agreed to have a little studying session at Chi-chan's house. Now, I know my friends, and potential future girlfriend, pretty well. If I had to take a guess, I would say that Iwa-chan and Chi-chan were the only ones who were actually planning on doing anything school-related this afternoon.

But I'm getting ahead of myself, back to the blondes' absence. I wasn't sure why she wasn't here yet. I grabbed my phone to see if I'd missed any texts from her. Alas, no notifications, just my background photo looking back at me. Of course it was a photo of Suzumi and I. We took it in the café we went to on our kind-of-but-not-really date. The picture never failed to make me smile.

'Whatcha looking at lover boy?' Makki asked with a smirk.

I decided to play innocent and furrowed my brows in faux confusion, 'What do you mean?'

'Don't play dumb with me, you rarely have this sickeningly soft look on your face.'

'Bet he's thinking of his ex-girlfriend, Suzu-chan.' Matssun chimed in.

Suzumi and I had informed our four close friends about the situation. Well, we filled them in on the minor details since all four of them had already been knees deep into our drama. The two boyfriends found it all hilarious apparently, making jokes at every opportunity. Since the blonde and I had made up, they saw no fault in it. I mostly just ignored it, but today, I decided to retaliate.

'She wasn't my girlfriend!' I protested, before morphing my frown into a smug smile, 'But she might be in the future.'

They all fell silent and I took some joy in seeing Makki and Matssun staring at me with those incredulous, disbelieving eyes. The other couple wasn't faring any better in terms of facial expressions.

Matssun was the first to recover. 'Woah, woah, woah, hold up. Are you saying what I think you're saying?'

Before I could answer, I heard a familiar voice calling out. I looked to my left and saw Suzumi jogging towards us. I had a few seconds before she'd hear our conversation so I turned back to the middle blocker and nodded.

'That's exactly what I'm saying. And let me tell you something else,' I said and looked at my four friends intently, 'if any of you utter even a word about this to Suzumi I will follow my personal motto and hit you until you break.'

'So what took you so long?' Chi-chan asked as we strolled towards her house.

The two girls were walking beside each other, with Iwa-chan and I leading the way before them and Makki and Matssun trailing behind.

'I stayed behind after Math. I had a few questions about the material so I figured I'd just ask them while I had the chance. I was sure it wouldn't take more than ten minutes, so I didn't think I'd need to text you guys. But boy, Nowaki-sensei sure likes to talk. We started talking about his 'beautiful wife' at some point, don't know how that happened…'

'Yeah once you get him going, there's no stopping him.' Iwa-chan said, cringing ever so slightly. I guess he was talking from experience.

'Why didn't you think to ask me?' I whined, 'Aren't I supposed to be your tutor? You wound me.' I placed my hand over my heart and dramatically leaned on my best friend, which I found quite challenging to do while walking. Iwa-chan wasn't having any of it though, and just pushed me off again.

'Why do you all hate me?' I moaned, making sure to look as dejected as possible.

'Aww, don't worry Oikawa-san.' Our tiny manager said with a glint of amusement in her eyes, 'You can cry on my shoulder if you wanna.'

The second she said it, Iwa-chan whipped around and draped his arm around Chi-chan's shoulders, 'Both shoulders are taken actually.' He said, not looking the slightest bit remorseful, 'Really such a pity.'

Makki opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, Matssun also swiftly placed his arm over the shoulders of his boyfriend, 'Don't even think about it.' He said.

Suzumi snorted in the background, 'I've never felt so single in my entire life.'

I could change that for you.

…Is what I wanted to say. I'd almost let the comment slip before I swallowed the words back down. I was planning to take this slow, this wouldn't help.

Instead I just smiled and nodded, 'You got that right.'

Now, had this situation played out two weeks ago, I wouldn't have hesitated to make a witty remark and claim the blonde's shoulders as my own. It would be smooth, flirty and probably something that Suzumi could laugh about and play along with.

A lot had changed since two weeks ago though and right now, I didn't know how to react. Did I still go for that smooth recovery, or did I just keep walking? Flirty jokes and interactions weren't uncommon for us before our fight. The thing is, I wasn't joking this time around. I seriously want Suzumi to fall for me, but I just can't figure out how I should act around her now.

Instead of coming up with a solution, I changed the subject.

'Let's get a move on shall we?' I asked and plastered on a big smile.

'My, just dying to hit the books huh?' Iwa-chan said with a smirk.

'You better be.' Chi-chan added, 'Because if I see any of you slacking off, the books won't be the only thing I'm hitting.'

That's it for this week. I really hope you like it!

I wanted to write a chapter with all the main characters interacting with each other. It feels like it's been ages since wrote the six of them together. I really enjoy it because it's just so fun!

I like the idea of Oikawa struggling with how he should behave around Suzumi. He's struck me as the kind of guy who overthinks everything. Also, given that every girl has basically thrown herself at him, I think he'd be a little awkward about it all. Even if he appears to be all confident towards Iwa and the rest, I think he'd be really careful about pursuing Suzumi.

I'll do my best to get that across~
