Suzumi Pov

So what do I do? That is what I asked myself in the hallway, debating whether to keep eavesdropping, or to join Chi-chan, who disappeared into the kitchen a few seconds ago.

I weighed my options: I could walk away and stay in the dark about this mysterious 'plan' OR I could stay and maybe find out what Oikawa was plotting. I mean, his plan involved me, so I felt like I had a certain right to know.

All in all, a fairly easy choice to make if we ignored the fact that the guys purposely waited for me to exit the room to talk. Which probably meant that they were going to discuss a sensitive topic, possibly making me a jerk for wanting to listen in. Yeah just ignore that and we'll be good to go.

Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) Chi-chan inadvertently saved my terrible morals. She was probably wondering what was taking me so long given that the journey to her kitchen wasn't a very long or difficult one.

She strode over to me and linked her arm with mine with a grin. 'What?' She asked, 'Miss Oikawa-san already?'

'Oof, busted.' I said half-jokingly as we walked towards the kitchen.

The brunette snorted, 'Geez, calm down. It's just for a little while. I thought you two would be sick of each other after being locked in a shed for hours.'

'I'd never be sick of him.' I shot back, 'Though I could think of a plethora of better places to spend time with him, or any one for that matter. That shed might come to haunt my dreams, but not because of Oikawa.'

'Right, I suppose the 'door incident' would be pretty traumatizing.' Chi-chan retorted cheekily as we padded into the kitchen.

My cheeks flushed red in embarrassment, 'Who told you about that?'

'Who do you think?'

'Right, never mind. I can think of two very specific guys that would tell you.'

The girl besides me hummed in amusement as she pulled four glasses from the cupboard, 'Iwaizumi-san and I got lucky. We got the colorful rendition of it, including bad impressions of both you and Oikawa-san.'

'Yeah, I bet it was great.' I grumbled as my friend chuckled at my expense.

Then she sobered up and turned to me.

'Right, before I forget, I still have the Harry Potter book I borrowed a few weeks ago. Wanna go upstairs and grab it?'

I said okay and put down the chips I'd just grabbed.

'So what did you think of it? Did you like it?'

She nodded enthusiastically. 'It was great! Honestly, when the letters started streaming in through the chimney, I knew this book was a winner!'

'Right? Harry is just the right amount of sassy too!'

We made our way upstairs, happily chatting away. While I should be worried about what the guys were talking about, but in that instance I'd left it with the chips and glasses, that laid all but forgotten on the kitchen counter.

Oikawa Pov

'Wow Matssun, you really don't beat around the bush huh?' I said.

'Yeah, geez.' Iwa-chan said, 'That was blunt, even for me.'

The middle blocker rolled his eyes. 'Whatever, you wanna know what this guy's plan is too right?'

'Kinda.' The ace replied reluctantly.

'Aww Iwa-chan, are you genuinely interested in me? I'm so touched.'

'Don't get too full of yourself. We're mostly interested because the last perfectly thought-out plan resulted in disaster, a fight and a few hours in a musty shed.' He rebutted, ever quick to make sure my ego didn't inflate too much.

'Yes.' Maki added, 'We'd like less of that and more overall success. So tell us what you're up to.'

'I don't like how you're all just assuming I have a plan. What if I'm just going with the flow?'

Matssun snorted, 'You're Oikawa, you don't just 'go with the flow'. Please, we know you too well for that.'

'Sure, let's assume that's true. Why would I tell you right now? Chi-chan and Suzumi will be back any second now.'

'Nope.' Matssun said, popping the p, 'I asked Mi-chan to keep her busy. Apparently she has a book she borrowed from Suzu-chan and will use that to keep her occupied. It'll be a while before they're back. So stop trying to change the subject and start talking.'

I looked at him skeptically.

'Okay, first of all,' My best friend said, interrupting my staring contest with Matssun, 'could you guys please stop giving my girlfriend weird nicknames? It's really annoying. Second of all, Matsukawa is right. Miyagi-chan said that once Suzumi-chan gets to talking about a book she likes, she can talk for ages.'

'What's the name of that book?' I asked way too quickly for my liking.

The rest noticed it too, judging by the disgusting smirk on Makki's face, 'Desperate, are we?'

'I am about to ask two gay guys that have never had girlfriends, for obvious reasons, and an emotionally constipated man for advice on wooing a girl. This is what my life has come to. Pretty desperate if you ask me.' I sighed. I didn't intend to sound that mean, but seeing their faces, I don't think they took anything I just said to heart.

'So you do want advice, is what I'm hearing.' Makki said.

'Your excellent deduction skills never cease to amaze me babe.

All I could do was roll my eyes and when I glanced over, I saw the ace doing the same.

'Anyway, besides reading the books she likes, what else do you have in mind?'

'Not much, for now.' I answered truthfully. 'My first step is to just get closer to her, hence why I want to have more things to talk to her about. She has such a nice voice too. I wouldn't mind hearing her talk about a book for ages.' I said dreamily.

'Uh, right. That sounds… great. What else? Is there anything we can do to help?' Makki asked.

I've noticed it before, but right then, it struck me that I really just have a great set of friends, albeit a tad reckless and foolish. The extra help could be really nice and I could see a plan starting to form in my head.

'Well actually, maybe you could.' I said. 'I don't want do to anything super complex anymore or go behind her back, but if you guys are okay with it, I'd like to do some more activities as a group.'

Iwa-chan frowned, 'Why? Wouldn't being alone with her be better?'

'No no, hear me out, I just thought of a great idea.' I said and launched into my explanation.

Later, and I mean WAY later, the girls returned. They both looked a bit sheepish about the fact that they left us for so long, each holding a tray. We lapsed into conversation, with plenty of bickering of course.

But before I could be dragged into an argument about the most superior snacks with Chi-chan, Iwa-chan turned to me.

'I'll ask Miyagi-chan about the book.'

'Thanks.' I replied gratefully, 'Sure hope it's not something horror related.'

He grinned, 'Now that you've mentioned it, I kind of hope it is.'

I'm done for today~ I hope you enjoyed it! I've been having a blast writing these last few chapters. Harry Potter is one of my favorite characters, so I just wanted to casually drop that in the conversation. I love book-Harry so much, he's a lot more sassy and witty than movie-Harry in my most humble opinion.

As usual, a huge thank you for the comment on my last chapter. You give me so much motivation to write, you don't even know!

I hope to see you again next week!
