When I opened my eyes, the first thing I felt was the sun hitting my face. The next thing I found out was that I was on a roof. Why was I on a- oh. Sycoracic blood control. Hurray. I stepped back from the roof, grabbing hold of the hand of the person right next to me, who thankfully turned out to be Jackie. "Liza!"

I turned to her and smiled weakly. "Hey."

She smothered me in a hug and rocked me around. "Don't ever do that again, you made me so worried!" I wrapped my arms around her and patted her. "I really didn't have any control over it, but I'll try not to."

I pulled away from her and turned around, only to be hugged by Melody, who was muttering some incoherent nonsense. I awkwardly patted her as well- why were everyone's hugs always awkward?! Probably because I didn't expect it, I don't know.

She pulled away. "I was so worried, why didn't you tell me this was gonna happen?!"

I pretended to think for a bit. "Oh, I dunno, because I do remember trying to tell you. Oh yeah!" I pretended to come to a realisation. "You made me go to sleep, didn't you?"

She bit her lip sheepishly. "Oops? Sorry."

I looked up at the Sycorax ship. The Doctor was up there, probably quoting the Lion King at this point. I couldn't believe that I wasn't there with him and missing all the nonsense he was talking about. And I missed rude and not ginger! Stupid A Positive blood group. Made me miss rude and not ginger.

"What do you think he's doing up there?" I looked beside me to see Melody, who was also staring up at the rocky ship.

I shrugged. "Now? He's either quoting the Lion King or calling the Sycorax leader a Cranak Pel Casacree Salvak while challenging him to a sword fight."

Melody gasped. "And he asks me to mind my language. Hypocrite."

I laughed. "He never minds his language at all. Or at least, Nine never did. I dunno much about this one."

"Well, the one after this one is, well, let's say he's gonna surprise you." My eyes widened and I turned to her. "Oh God, please don't tell me Eleven cusses left and right."

She shrugged and smirked. "Well, I won't. I can't, anyway, you know, since, well, spoilers."

I huffed and turned back to the ship. "It is extremely annoying when used against me." She laughed, "Well, now you know what it's like to be the rest of us."

"Rest of us-" I turned to her. "So I know more than you in the future, then?"

She groaned. "If you hold that over my head-"

"I won't, but future me will." I grinned, shrugging. "You know, since I know how annoying this is."

She turned away from me, rolling her eyes and muttering something that sounded like "Match made in heaven".

"Right, are you two done with whatever this was supposed to be?" I turned to Jackie, who was standing behind the two of us, her arms crossed, frowning. "Neither of you have had breakfast, and you've just been hypnotised. Not to mention, my daughter's up there with a bunch of evil aliens, one Head and Shoulders obsessed alien and Mickey Smith of all people-"

"Rose is fine, and so's Mickey." I assured her. "Also, Head and Shoulders?" What the hell happened when I was being blood controlled?

"The Doctor poked my head and asked me if I used Head and Shoulders." I burst out laughing. "Head and Shoulders? Seriously?! I thought he would be high after regenerating- just not this high."

"I wish he was that high when I saw him." Melody muttered. I turned to her, raising my eyebrows. She turned to me. "By the time he got up here, he was the Oncoming Storm."

"Because Jackie doesn't use Head and Shoulders?"

She looked at me as if I'd gone insane. "His w- best friend was standing in front of the ledge of a roof while she was being blood controlled! Of course his biggest concern is gonna be shampoo!"

Jackie rolled her eyes. "Will you two stop arguing? I just told you that you idiots haven't eaten breakfast! And I've got an overabundance of bananas so that the Doctor can have breakfast after whatever he's doing- unless he likes other fruits as well," She walked down the stairs, "I've got some pears at home as well…"

I turned to Melody, a grin slowly forming on my face. "I am so pranking him into eating a pear today,"

She put her hands up. "I'm not involving myself in this. I don't want him going Oncoming Storm on me twice in one day."

I was holding a mug of tea in my hands, sitting on Jackie's couch, when a familiar noise sounded in my ears. I jumped up, placing the mug on the table. "He's here!"

"What?" Jackie came outside the kitchen, but I'd already taken off at that point. I ran down the stairs, grabbing onto the railing so that I wouldn't end up falling and possibly maim myself. Not after I was almost controlled to do the exact same thing. Well, not really, but you get the point.

"Beth, wait for me!" I could faintly hear Melody calling me in the background, but I ignored her. This was the first time I was gonna be able to see him properly. When he wasn't asleep or comatose, or insaner than usual (which was saying a lot- if this was exactly like the show, he'd be acting like someone high on caffeine all the time).

I ran down the road towards the TARDIS noise, which had unfortunately stopped. But thankfully, Rose and Mickey were yelling loud enough for everyone else on the planet to hear them, so it wasn't really a loss either way.

After some time, I finally saw them. The Doctor was talking to Harriet Jones, while Rose and Mickey were hugging and cheering. Rose pulled away from Mickey and seemed to notice me. She grinned, "Liza!"

The Doctor turned away from Harriet, and grinned when he saw me. He ran towards me as well, and threw his arms around me. I hugged him back tightly, burying my head in his shoulder as he lifted me up and spun me around. "I'm so glad you're okay." I murmured, and he nodded against my shoulder. "Me too." He tightened his grip around me and held me like that for a few moments, and put me down. However, his arms were still around me. I looked up at him, a wide smile forming on my face. "Hello!" He grinned.

"Hey," I whispered, trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach.

"Rose!" I turned to look behind me. Jackie and Melody had caught up with me. "Mum!" Rose ran towards her and threw her arms around her. Rose then hugged an extremely surprised Melody, who did the exact same awkward pat thing I did when she had hugged me back on the roof.

Jackie then gasped. "Oh my God, it's the bleeding Prime Minister!"

The Doctor let go of me and opened his arms. "Come here, you!"

Jackie ran and hugged him, while Rose, Mickey and Melody joined in as well. I did too, but that was probably because Rose practically shoved me into everyone else. It was only nine thirty and I'd already been hugged four times- probably the record for me.

After everyone let go of each other, Rose turned to me. "Are you alright? How did being hypnotised feel like? Were you conscious under there?"

I shrugged. "The last thing I remember was Melody yelling at me to go to sleep, and the next thing I knew, I was on the roof. So no. But I'm fine now."

"Good." The Doctor muttered. Melody raised an eyebrow at him and turned back to Jackie, who had now taken it upon herself to start lecturing all of us for not having any regards for our personal safety, and then went on a tangent about how we were all supposed to have a proper breakfast unless we wanted her to give us carrots for Christmas dinner.

"Carrots, are you insane?!" Melody and the Doctor exclaimed.

I shrugged. "I actually like carrots, so I don't think I'll mind."

"That's still no excuse, you've been hypnotised." Jackie scowled at me.

"I literally just told you that I'm fine and that it just felt like sleepwalking. Well, not really, I've never sleepwalked before."

At that moment, a crackling sound made me jump. I turned around. "No," I whispered in shock as a huge green bolt of electricity spiked up from one of the buildings.

"That can't be-" Melody gasped, as the spike in the air was joined by five other spikes that combined into one large beam of electricity, which spiked all the way to the Sycorax ship, causing cracks to appear all over it. They looked like volcanic cracks filled with lava, along with a bunch of green electric spikes around them. And then, it disintegrated with a huge blast. I shielded my eyes with my hand, stepping back and almost running into Melody, who thankfully stepped away. "What was that?!" Rose exclaimed. "What's happening?!"

Jackie gasped and covered her mouth with her hands while Mickey stared at the ship, his eyes wide. The Doctor, however, recovered from his shock quickly and turned to Harriet Jones. He stepped towards her and I stepped back slightly. First Tenth Doctor Oncoming Storm- I really didn't want to be in the storm zone- if that even was a thing. I could've very easily been tired and made up some random stuff, but who knew?

"That was defence." Harriet retorted.

"Defence from what?!" Melody exclaimed, going to stand next to the Doctor, "They were leaving!"

"You said it yourself, Doctor, they'd go back to the stars and tell others about the Earth. I'm sorry, Doctor, but you're not here all the time. You come and go. It happened today. Mister Llewellyn and the Major, they were murdered. They died right in front of me. In which case we have to defend ourselves."

"But that wasn't defence! That was cold blooded murder! I understand if you did this a while ago, but now? After they practically surrendered and left?!"

"She's right." The Doctor nodded towards Melody. "I gave them the wrong warning. I should've told them to run as fast as they can, run and hide, because the monsters are coming. The human race."

"Those are the people I represent. I did it on their behalf."

"And I should've stopped you."

"And what does that make you, Doctor? Another alien threat?"

Melody scoffed, and the Doctor walked towards Harriet. "Don't challenge me, Harriet Jones. Because I'm a completely new man. I could bring down your government with a single word."

"You're the most remarkable man I've ever met. But I don't think you're quite capable of that."

"No, you're right. Not a single word." He paused for a few moments. I'd headcannoned that he was counting the number of words inside his head, but this was the Doctor. He might even be doing it for dramatic effect. Or, well, because he's the Doctor. "Just six."

"I don't think so."

"Six words."

"Stop it!"

"Six." He walked towards the man standing a little way away from us, pulled his earpiece out, and whispered something ("Don't you think she looks tired?", but literally nobody would be able to hear that) in his ear. The man nodded and turned to Harriet, while the Doctor came back towards us. Once he reached us, we all walked back to Rose's house in silence.

When I came out after my shower, I saw Rose, Melody, Jackie and Mickey sitting at the dining table we'd moved earlier, laughing and eating breakfast. I went to sit next to Rose, who pushed a plate towards me. "You're supposed to have at least one piece of toast with marmalade, and at least two pancakes with that. Oh, and one glass of orange juice, no tea allowed. Mum's rules."

I turned to look at Jackie, who gave me a pointed glare. "What else am I supposed to do?! You're all acting high and mighty, having no regard for your health!"

"Mum, I told you, we're all very health conscious!"

"Says the person who's primary diet in the TARDIS consists of cheese pizza, barbeque chips, and cake." I coughed, and Jackie glared at Rose, who scowled at me. "Oi, as if you're any better, Miss Ice Cream for Breakfast!"

"I'm seriously gonna have to have some words with the Doctor now. Ice cream for breakfast and cheese pizza and cake for a regular diet." She stabbed one of her pancakes aggressively, downing it with some orange juice.

I swallowed some toast and turned to all of them. "Speaking of the Doc, where is he?"

"In the TARDIS. Took five bananas and took off." Jackie shrugged.

I nodded, eating the rest of my breakfast and deciding to go and find him after I did so.

Like Jackie said, he was in the TARDIS. He was wearing his pinstripe suit and the brown trench coat, which I hadn't realised he was wearing before as well. He was staring at a screen on the console, his hand on his cheek. He looked up as I opened the door, and relaxed slightly when he saw who it was. "Hello,"

"Hey, Jackie said I'd find you here." I walked towards the console. "What's that?"

He stared at me for a moment, holding the screen, almost as if he wanted to push it away, but shook his head. "Nothing. Well, it's something, I can't just be staring at nothing, although, I have stared at- oi!" He scowled at the console as the screen slid past him. I grabbed the screen and looked up at the TARDIS. "Thanks, love!"

You're welcome. I jumped. This was a thing then. I really had to get used to it. "What's wrong?"

I turned to look at the Doctor, who was frowning at me, concerned. I shook my head. "Nothing."

"You look like someone jump-scared you."

"You look like someone jump-scared you."

He rolled his eyes, getting up from his chair. He walked towards me, putting his hands into his pockets. "Seriously, Liza. What's wrong?"

He was giving me the Tenth Doctor puppy expression. Idiot. I sighed. "Fine, but promise me that you're not gonna freak out."

"You saying that isn't helping matters at all." He shrugged.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Seriously. Anyway, back to the point. Ever since the whole Blon incident, I've been able to, um, understand the TARDIS."

"What are you talking about?" He frowned.

"I can hear her. In my head. She talks to me in my head."

"What?" Like I said, I would've made a big deal out of the 'what', but judging by the fact that I was having a massive 'what' moment myself (well, extended moment), I didn't. "But- that's not supposed to be happening, you're human!"

"Really, because I thought I was a Judoon-Raxacoricofallapatorian hybrid."

"Neither of those species are telepathic, so your sarcasm is factually incorrect."

"Because being factually correct is always my biggest concern when it comes to sarcasm!"

"Yeah, whatever, anyway- how did this happen? When did this happen?!" He stared at the console. You really think you'll get the answers so easily? Oh, you sweet naive boy, you don't know anything about me, then.

I burst out laughing, and he scowled at me. "Great. Now both of you are gonna gang up on me."

I smirked at him. "I guarantee it. Right, Sexy?"

Oh yeah. Definitely.

He scowled at her and pulled his hands off the console, throwing them up. "You're supposed to be on my side!"

I'm not SUPPOSED to be on anyone's side. Besides, I like Liza better.

I laughed again, and he scowled at the two of us. "Meanies."

"If it's any consolation, you're my bestest friend in the entire universe."

"Really? What about the TARDIS then?"

"She's my mom." I shrugged.

I'm everyone's mother here. This place is always full of irresponsible idiots.

"Oh, thanks!" He turned to me. "Anyway, since she's not gonna give up anything, we're probably gonna have to guess what happened and hope to God that we guessed right. I'm gonna need you to tell me exactly what happened and how it all started."

"It started the night before we went to Raxacoricofallapatorius- right before I went to sleep. I thanked her for saving us and she told me that there was no need for me to thank her. I first thought it was a dream, but then she talked to me again at the Game Station when she told me that she turned off my phone."

"Why would she do that?" I shrugged. "She's the TARDIS. Nobody knows her true motivations."

"You're making her sound like a universal enigma, but I actually agree with you on this one. Anyway, back to the point, you said that this whole thing started after Blon turned back into an egg?"

I nodded, and then a realisation struck me. "Wait- could this be a side effect of indirectly looking into the heart of the TARDIS? I mean, I was closer to Blon than the rest of us were."

He shrugged. "I dunno, I mean, you seemed to have minimal exposure to the heart, meaning even if something did happen to you, it wouldn't be that conspicuous, unless," He paced around the room, running a hand through his hair, and turned to me. "I dunno. I'll never know, unless I scan you properly- if you don't mind, that is."

I shrugged. "I don't mind."

He rubbed his hands together, "Right then! Med Bay! Allonsy!"

"So we'll have to wait for a few hours, then?" I skipped into the console room behind the Doctor.

"Yeah, stupid scanner needs time to process things, I should really go get a newer model. Although, this one is a lot more fun. Anyway, we've got about eight hours to kill." He turned to me, half a smile on his face.

"So we just go back and wait with the others till then?"

"I actually had something else in mind."

"Oh?" I raised my eyebrows, walking towards him.

He smiled at me. "I mean, we've got time to spend, and the whole of time and space at our disposal…"

"Are you asking if we can go somewhere together? Just the two of us?" I slowly started to smile as well.

He shrugged, looking at the console. "I mean, I've known you for almost a year now and we've never actually gone on a trip alone, and I was wondering what that would be like." He looked up at me and tilted his chin. "Well, there was that one time we went to Leadworth, but that was a TARDIS test drive and lasted for about twenty minutes. And we crashed into the duck pond."

"That is a really good idea," He grinned at me, "But, well, there's four people up there who are gonna notice if we go missing. In their perspective, at least."

He rolled his eyes playfully. "Liza, we're in a time machine. We can get back ten seconds after we left."

I shrugged. "Your time machine isn't very discreet when she takes off, though."

He stared at me for a moment before turning back to the console and flicking a few switches. "There you go. Stealth mode. Nobody'll be able to hear us leave or come back."

Wow, he really was serious about this. "Let's do it." I grinned at him and he grinned back. He ran around the console and came to stand in front of me. He held out a hand, which I took. He pulled me towards the screen on the console. "Right then, Liza Cole. All of time and space. Where to?"

"It's my choice?" He nodded. "Hmm, this is gonna be a bit hard…" I looked at a random coral pillar, until it struck me. I turned back to the Doctor, who was grinning expectantly. "Somewhere oceany. And by that I don't mean the beach, I mean the actual ocean."

He grinned even wider somehow, and let go of my hand, running towards the console. "You're in luck, because I know the exact place!" I went towards him to help, but he shook his head. "Nope, I'm driving on my own! Go sit on the captain's chair."

"Okay," I went and sat there, buckling the seat belt as he ran around, pulling a bunch of levers. He pulled on the vector tracker- looks like we were going far away.

After we stopped and I got out of the chair, he reached into his pockets and pulled out something that looked like seaweed. He held a piece out to me. "Aguados Seaweed. Helps in breathing underwater and surviving in underwater conditions. Kinda like Gillyweed, but minus the gills and the urge to be underwater at all times."

"Ooh!" I took the Aguados Seaweed from him and put it in my mouth. I chewed on it and frowned. "This tastes like salted caramel."

He grinned at me, chewing on it as well. "I know, right? It was either this or macadamia nuts."

I raised my eyebrows and nodded. "Impressive."

"That I am."

I laughed, shaking my head. After I swallowed the seaweed, he held out his hand. "Ready?"

I took a deep breath and grinned. "Yeah."

He opened the doors and gestured outside with his other hand, and I gasped. We were suspended in the middle of the ocean- it looked like there was an oxygen field around the TARDIS, as the water was flowing around us in the form of spherical walls.

All sorts of ocean life swam around us. There were all sorts of colorful fish- some familiar and some completely otherworldly. They were shaped like arrows that darted around in different colors. There were corals and kelps everywhere, colorful and dull at the same time. The floor underneath was bumpy- like there was a huge mound in it. A lot of the arrow shaped fish darted around the mound.

"Wait for it…" The Doctor murmured beside me. "Look at the thing on the floor."

I did that and gasped. Sand from the bed started to get disturbed and float around in the water as the mound shifted and rose up. I tightened my grip around the Doctor's hand and he chuckled as the mound rose even more to reveal a huge jellyfish- like creature with one eye shooting upwards. It had huge tentacles floating freely underneath it, but the tentacles also helped it float up.

As the jellyfish reached our level, I got a good glimpse of its eye, which was the brightest blue in color. "It's called a Crancier." The Doctor said as it passed us. "Ruler of the oceans, one of the rarest species in the universe. Lives for millenia, but can only reproduce once in its life, that's why there's not many of them. This one just got out of hibernation- symbolizing the beginning of spring here."

"And where's here?"

"Oceania. Biggest ocean planet in the universe." He turned to me, "What do you think?"

"It's wonderful. Absolutely fantastic." He grinned at me and squeezed my hand. "Wanna go inside and see? I mean, we just had the Aguados Seaweed."

I nodded, and he tightened his grip around my hand. "Right then, jump on the count of three. One, two, three!"

"Do you think they'll notice we left?" I walked into the console room, running a towel through my hair.

He shrugged. "I dunno. We'll still have to come up with an excuse, though. I'm sure they'll notice that you changed and that we both have wet hair." He pointed to his own hair, which was sticking out everywhere.

"We'll tell them that the TARDIS pranked us by pushing us into the pool. I walked towards the console and leaned over his shoulder to see the screen. "How long have we been gone?" I looked at the time according to the TARDIS. "Oh my God."

He turned around and grinned sheepishly. "I didn't want to wait all day for Christmas dinner." It was six pm, and I knew for a fact that nobody would believe the pool excuse if we were gone this long.

"We could tell them that the TARDIS was damaged because of the whole Bad Wolf affair and I had to fix it and I persuaded you to stay and help when you came because I didn't want to be alone. And about the wet hair thing, I could say that we tested her out and accidentally landed in a swimming pool in Los Angeles and accidentally came back later than usual."

I shrugged. "Not bad, we could actually use it."

The Doctor's POV:

"Where the hell have you both been?" As Liza had predicted, Jackie was standing in front of us, her arms crossed, scowling. "You've been gone all that day!"

"We were in the TARDIS." We both said at the same time. Melody smirked at the two of us. "You mean the snog box?" Her tone was familiar- I could recognize that kind of tone anywhere.

"What the hell?!" I exclaimed, the heat rushing to my cheeks as Liza yelled, "What?! No!"

"What the hell were you doing in there all day?" Jackie demanded.

"Fixing it. Well, he was fixing it and wanted me to stay and help. You see, Rose looking into the heart of the TARDIS caused a few, um, complications, right Doc?"

He nodded. "Yeah, the time circuits are fried. They were due for a cool down anyway, though. Rose looking into the heart was just the catalyst."

"Did you both cool yourselves down as well?" Rose frowned, folding her hands in a very Jackie-esque fashion, "You both look like you ran across a sprinkler for the entire day." She gestured to our hair.

"That was the result of the test drive. We landed in a pool in Los Angeles. Freaked the hell out of that lady, er, what was her name?" I turned to Liza, who said, "Vicki."

I smiled slightly at that and turned back to the others, who were still giving us judgemental looks (well, smirks in Melody's case- they looked too much like Liza's spoiler smirks in my opinion. Who was she?). Jackie sighed. "Whatever, at least you're both back in time for dinner-"

She was interrupted by a phone ringing. Everyone looked at Melody, who smiled sheepishly, removing a phone from her pocket. "Sorry," She put the phone to her ear. "Hello? Oh hey Clara!" I turned to look at Liza, who's eyes were wide with excitement. Looks like this Clara person was a future companion of mine.

"Jane Austen? Seriously? Right, I'll be there soon. Bye!" She hung up and looked at all of us. "I'm sorry, I'll have to go now. The future needs me, I guess."

Melody had said her goodbyes to everyone (and gave Liza a huge hug, promising to tell that Clara person hello from her), and had asked me to accompany her onto the roof.

She sighed as we entered the roof. "This is it. I can't believe this is over." She turned around to me, adjusting the Vortex manipulator on her wrist. "I'll miss this you, Doctor."

"Who are you, Melody? You remind me of someone."

"You mean I remind you of Beth."

I nodded. "That obvious?"

She laughed and shook her head. "No, it's just that sometimes someone's influence can have a massive impact."

"She's influenced you." I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry, that's all I can tell you for now." She looked up from her manipulator. "But there's one thing I want to tell you, which is why I brought you up here."

"Yeah?"

"Be careful with Beth. Everything's gonna be a lot harder from now on and you'd never want to be separated from her forever. Not with the whole transition starting now. She'll have to be around for all the catalyst events if she wants to be alive."

I frowned. "Transition? What the hell are you talking about?"

She smiled sadly. "I'm sorry, Doctor. That's all I can tell you." She pressed a button on her manipulator, and the last thing I heard her say as she disappeared was, "Spoilers."
