"I swear to Merlin and every deity that's listening, that if I get my hands on either one of the twins, they will face a death so painful that they would wish they had never been born," Hermione hissed. Remus chuckled, poking his head out the library to see her stuck on the staircase.
"I think they've wished that many times before," he commented. "Though your anger alone might just make them wish it once again. What have they done now?"
"Mistletoe," she shouted, throwing her hands up in the air to point to the blasted plant that seemed to sparkle mockingly. "I thought I revoked their access to the floo."
"You did," Remus confirmed, not getting any closer to her but making himself more comfortable against the wall. "But Harry somehow got persuaded that he needed their help in the attic."
"What?" she asked, dumbfounded. How the hell had the twins convinced Harry that they were needed to help in Grimmauld's attic? They weren't even planning on sorting that through until next month. "I'm gonna kill Harry too."
"Now, calm down, love," Remus cooed, "he can be easily manipulated."
"That wasn't manipulation," she countered, "that wizard was the one who suggested the clean out next month. 'New year, new attic' were his words. He would not be convinced that they were here to help, unless they got him in on the act."
"And what act is that?"
"Hooking me up," she pouted. "Apparently I'm not allowed to be a single witch in her twenties with a steady job."
"You're not single," he argued, finally moving towards her and wrapping an around her back, pulling her into his chest. "Maybe now would be a good time to tell them."
"They'll think it's because of them," she said, winding her arms around his neck, "and then they'll be unbearable."
"Then I set you loose on them and we can set the record straight." He cut off any future protests and arguments by pressing his lips against hers. They both felt the wave of magic that indicated that the charm from the mistletoe had broken, but they didn't stop.
So lost in each other, that they didn't hear the footsteps heading in their direction, but they did hear the loud cheering coming from the twins and Harry. They pulled away, lips swollen and cheeks flushed, to glare at the trio. Their glares went ignored.
"We did it! We did it! We finally did it!" Fred and George chanted, pulling off a complicated hand shake that seemed to get more ridiculous with each move, whilst Harry stood grinning at everything going on.
"You didn't do shit," Hermione argued, fumbling with her purse for her wand. "Remus and I have been together for six months, all you've managed to do is reveal a well kept secret."
Harry's eyes almost popped out of his head and the twins faltered in their hand shake, causing George to trip and end up seated on the floor.
"Now, if you'll excuse us, I believe we were rudely interrupted and now plan on finishing what we started."
Prompt: Kissing
