COVID moon chapter 13
Just a quick one guys happy weekend!
"I don't have siblings. I don't have a lot of friends, either. I moved around a lot as a child. And… and… I never really felt like I connected with most people. Until I bet you guys. I found a missing part of myself… I thought. And then you all just ripped it out," Bella
"That's because you were meant to be one of us! Bella I knew it from the start," Alice answered excitedly.
"So you say. And you know what Alice that just makes it fucking worse!" Bella yelled back.
Alice, Jasper, and Bella were seated around the penthouse suites white marble table. Bella kept pressing her forehead to the tables cool surface. Despite taking Tylenol her fever was growing.
"Why does that make it worse?" Jasper asked. As a facilitator Jasper found it hard not to be consumed with everyone's else emotions, but he was trying his best.
"Isn't it obvious? If you truly believed that I was meant to be a vampire and then you still chose to leave me that Is words. You willingly and knowingly left me to a doomed life of misery," Bella whispered.
"Oh Bella… yes, in some ways you're right, but I felt I had no choice. My visions are Just glimpses of possibilities when they are of things so far in the future And… well, I did see you possibly grow old and have a child too?" Alice answered.
"Oh and so you thought you'd just abandon me and hope for the best?" Bella asked, "well isn't that nice."
"I…I felt I had no choice. There were other visions Bella, more…certain ones," Alice said quietly.
This peaked Bella's interest, causing her to lift her head off the table and look at Alice in question. It also surprised Jasper. Alice had never said a word to him about any important visions that convinced her to leave Forks all those years ago.
Alice took Bella's place, putting her head on the table. After all these years the weight of her secrets where becoming too hard to carry. All her life she told Jasper everything she knew apart from this. She just didn't want him to hurt anymore and she knew he carried so much guilt for his attack on Bella's birthday, seeing it as the start of all this pain and misery.
"After Jasper went for you on my birthday I had multiple clear visions of… of… Edward dying," Alice mumbled into the table.
"What?" Bella gasped, "that's not possible."
"Our kind is not immortal, Bella," Jasper gently clarified, "we are just really hard to kill. But I am intrigued to hear more about this Alice," he asked letting his impartial mediator role slip.
"He just couldn't… he wasn't ready to accept Bella dying. In anyway… be it true death or becoming one of us. He became convinced he would have to sacrifice himself in order to save Bella," Alice sighed.
"Suicide?" Bella cried? "But why? How?"
"He was going to go to volturi?" Jasper stated as everything started falling into place in his head.
"Yes," Alice said. There was only one way to avoid Edwards death I could see and that was to leave Forks and convince him that we would never go near you again. He knew it too. So… I did…I chose my brothers life over getting to have my best friend as my sister. I picked Edwards life and my husbands happiness over your happiness and I still don't know if it was the right choice," Alice said meekly.
Bella stood up and silently walked over to Alice, climbing onto her lap and resting her burning hot head against Alice's cold one, "Oh Ally what a thing to carry… you made the right choice. Thank you for saving his arrogant, ignorant ass. I… I get it now."
Alice squeezed Bella tight. Nearly too tight, "oh Bella I missed you so I hope you will stay with us forever."
"I want to go home to die. Can you arrange that? Take me home Please," Bella asked as she closed her eyes to sleep.
Alice hoped with all her might that Bella was asking to go back to u I'll Forks to be changed abs not to fight Covid. She wasn't ever going to take Bella's choices away again, but she also knew if Bella died she would take Edward with her abs all of this misery would of been for nothing.
Picking up his phone Jasper rang Emmett and Edward, telling them to quit chasing gators and come back, "it's time to take Bella home."
