Who is Julian Albert?
Note: Hi! Sorry about the very long break. Hopefully the next part won't take a decade to update.
For the sake of my sanity this is an alternate universe after 3x5 of The Flash
Disclaimer: I own nothing
Like always, Allen was not in their lab, but Julian couldn't find it in him to care. There were more important things to worry about, like seeing if he could track down this magical murderer.
The old man Johnston let him know where the nearest magical community was located, and he hoped he would have time tomorrow after work to make the hour long car ride to find it.
He looked on Allen's desk, and found the crime scene report for Harvey Potter. The finger print report was returned, and AFIS confirmed that "John Bell" was Potter as Detective West had said.
He pulled out his phone and sent Barry Allen a quick text to inquire about his whereabouts. He got a reply back, Barry had just finished reviewing the footage from the dog groomers, unfortunately the angle didn't show who was in the alley.
Though he was supposed to be waiting for the toxicology report, Julian knew this was a waste of time. He switched his focus instead and looked over the imprint of the shoe. However, he was interrupted when he got another call to go to a new crime scene.

Julian arrived at a small donut shop on the other side of town, Detective West was already there standing over the body.
A quick glance at the body made his stomach bottom out. There was no blood, no visible trauma, no defensive wounds, just like the previous body. He'd bet a galleon that this victim was also killed by the most unforgivable of the unforgivable curses.
"The victim's name is Ronald Westly. He was was the night Janitor, the owner found him this morning." Detective West started to say, until he noticed Julian slightly clenching his jaw. "Do you know him?"
"Not at all."
"You sure, you look a little," West made a circling motion around his own face, "pinched."
"It's fine." Julian gritted, but it was not fine. This was clearly a message to him. There was no way that it could be anything but. Harvey Potter could be a coincidence but Ronald Westly made it a pattern.
The British wizards were arrogant enough to think that they were the center of the Wizarding world, but the rest of the world couldn't disagree more. The North and South American wizard communities saw Voldemort as a strictly UK problem. Which is how he knew that this was aimed at him.
Julian Albert might not be liked by his peers, but Draco Malfoy had enemies, on both sides of the war. Though with the victims names being so close to Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, not to mention the wanton use of the killing curse, it was unlikely to be someone from their side of the conflict.
He was looking at a former Death Eater, that much was clear. Most of the Death Eaters were arrested, including himself, after Voldemort's defeat. Some, like himself, got lighter sentences but most were sent to Azkaban with no chance at parole. Unfortunately there were some people who did escape, and after years of searching, the aurors hadn't got them all.
He should tell Hermione, or at the very least the American version of aurors, the WBI, Wizarding Bureau of Investigation. But the last thing he wanted was some yankie, who wouldn't respect how devastating that time period was for the UK to come in half cocked and blow the investigation.
Considering he worked for a Muggles, he wasn't required to report this to either organization, so he decided to go it alone, at least for now. Hopefully this wasn't going to bite him in the ass.
