At Candice office 9:00 pm

Candice look at her clock saw how late it had gotten. "Rick, why don't you and your daughter head home for the night. I'll lock up; be on my way home. I think you two need to have a very long serious talk with each other." Rick and Alexis both nod at each other; both thought it was best to leave right now. Rick and Alexis were going to Rick new home. Candice watched father and daughter leaving her office, she knew that these two were going to have a lot to talk about. She was putting away some paperwork, turn off her computer, turn off all of her office lights and locked up her office door. She was walking through her car; she got in it driving back to her apartment to eat and get some rest too while she was at it.

At Rick house 9:45 pm

Rick and Alexis had arrived at his place; he showed her were the first guest bedroom was at. Alexis had put her things away in the bedroom. She was surprised by how much space was in the house. "Dad, this place is very cool." Rick was getting himself a drink. "Yeah, your Uncle Bob. Find me a place to live at. I really like the space it has and the view outside too." Rick and Alexis were making small talk at first, both knew that it was a stall tactic both were guilty of it.

Alexis and Rick both were sitting in completely silence with each other. The daughter was the first to break the silence between them. "Dad, I was really worried about you. I had to come, something in my heart told me to come and see you. But when I heard you're message, I just had to come to you as soon as possible."

Rick couldn't be upset with her for that, "I understand that your were very worried about me. I know there may come a day that you don't need me anymore. Just that this case hit me not only mentally, but emotionally as well. We find girl right around your age. She had been murdered by someone who don't care about her young life and take that away from her. They don't care weather she was young or not. Whoever killed her had no problem with taking her out of the picture completely."

Alexis had no idea that's what made her dad call her cellphone just to make sure she was alright. She felt so bad, that she had tears pouring out of her eyes non stop. Her dad rushed over to her wrap his arms tightly around her. "Dad, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry." Both of them are holding on to each other very tightly as both were sobbing very loudly.

Early the next morning

Alexis was the first to have awakening from a long rest. She decided to make her dad breakfast early this morning as a treat for him being such a good dad. She was making scramble eggs with cheese, bacon and toast. She was getting out the orange juice; when her dad came out of his bedroom. He was wearing an old shirt and grey sweatpants walking bare feet into the kitchen. He hugged his daughter and kisses her forehead.

Both of them eat their breakfast and decide to spend the day together.

Candice office 8:30 am

Candice had gotten a text message from Rick earlier this morning. Texting her that he was going to spend the day with his daughter; so that he could spend some time with her. She told him to go and have fun with his daughter for the day. She could handle things for the day; if there was any problem with the case she would call him. He said he would check in with her later. Candice got out everything and had her computer turned on.

Candice was going to go spoke to a few witnesses that were at the club. The night that their victim was killed, they had wanted to talk to her. She would meet them around noon some time.

Rick house 11:30 am

Rick and Alexis had gone on a three hour tour of the town. Both had stopped back at the house to have lunch together.

Alexis had a good idea to invite Candice over for dinner tonight. She really likes her a lot, was hoping that her dad would find someone to love him for him. Not his frame and money; that a woman would love her dad as much as she did. Everyone deserve someone else her dad. Alexis couldn't stop thinking if only she had made her dad stay home instead of the precinct. He wouldn't have felt the need to leave New York. She was feeling guilty herself; because she thought Beckett was the one for her dad; but he ended up more hurt then anything else.

Alexis walked up to her dad and said; "I think you should invite Candice over for dinner tonight."

Rick was taking aback by what Alexis just said; "are you sure about, Pumpkin?"

Alexis smiled at her dad; "yeah I'm sure. I like her very much dad."

Rick was really surprised by what she said; "alright, I'll invite her tonight for dinner. Will see how our new partnership goes. But so far so good. But I'm always worried about the other shoe dropping later on." He had to quit letting everything get to him so easily. That was his own fault, for thinking that Kate had real feelings for him. He shouldn't have tried so hard to get close to her. He understood better then everyone else. Just because you have money doesn't mean that everything in the world is yours.

Rick was going to go take a quick shower, so that he could invite Candice over for dinner tonight. When he was done with his shower, he had all of his clothes picked out. He was going to start heading over her office.
