Chapter 9- Vixey's new plan
(Vixey)
Two hours later
Blinking my eyes in a haze, I shake my head to wake myself up. The last thing I remembered about tonight was when I fainted in front of Foxy and he stole my android from under my nose. I can only take a good wild guess that after my spectacle Foxy took me back to his lair, probably intent on distracting me from my work. I groan in annoyance, thinking in my head. 'Oh shoot! What is he planning on doing with me this time?' I thought to myself as I stand up to ease the pain on the back of my head. Although I expected for the room to be dusty… it wasn't. I turn my gaze to the floor to see no specks of dust. The walls appeared to be free of dust and the ceiling had the same treatment as well. A new purple curtain is up and opened at a crack for me to look through. I didn't even notice until now that I was in a hammock and I accidently fell out when I leaned for a closer look at the place I was in. I only hit my left arm on the floor and I was just glad that I didn't hit it with my face. I didn't want to make a bloody mess with a nosebleed.
"Ow!" I whisper in pain as I rub my sore legs from the fall. Since when did Foxy have a hammock in his Cove? As far as I knew him in the past, he never had anything inside of his hideout. This must be new. Most likely he found it somewhere and decided to give it a different look. But this was no time to browse around at my leisure, I have to get back to the office and finish my work. My life depends on me staying away from getting caught in the building again.
Gently getting myself back up I ease myself over to the curtain to look around and see if Foxy was around in the room. It maybe is dark inside of the Cove but I blink my eyes in confusion over the new things I am seeing in the room. Last I remember there wasn't anything to show in the Cove besides the curtain where Foxy comes out from. But that stage was the only thing the employers would go for in '91 and that was it. Remembering the aftermath of the Bite of '87 some of the employers wanted Foxy to be put out like the Toy Animatronics because he would cause another incident like the Bite of '87, so that was why they decided to seclude him away from the stage and remove anything that could cause damage to him. They would only let him come out from the curtain for special events in the restaurant. The first new thing I noticed was a huge likeness of a pirate ship with the crows nest coming pretty close to the ceiling. A ramp is lowered down so that someone can walk up and take charge of the steering wheel. The next new thing I saw was a little island with a palm tree, and hiding underneath the shade was a treasure chest. What was inside the chest, I can't tell. I move my legs to walk over toward the chest, but I fell down in pain when I bruised myself. This wasn't what I thought about when people say that you get your land legs or your sea legs in a knot.
"Good thing for me, that ye were no ninja." Blast it! I heard Foxy's voice right behind me. How is he that quiet with his feet? I was hoping to just sneak out from the Cove without him noticing, but with me being distracted by his new toys, he spotted me. I didn't make any moves as he crouches behind me and effortlessly lifts me up to my feet. "Ye should be more careful in watching yer step little buddy. I don't want to be responsible for yer injuries while yer with me." He gently scolds.
I wanted to berate him on kidnapping me and bringing me over to his liar without my permission, and for stealing my android, but that doesn't concern me at the moment. Those things can wait as I was more worried about how much time I was stuck here. Playing a game of 'am I spared or am I at death's door' is getting to me. "How long was I out cold?"
"Two hours ago." Foxy answers, pushing his eyepatch up. "But while ye were out like a fish taken straight from the water it occurred to me that I should have properly cleaned up the Cove for ye before I carried ye out from that office. As ye can see I had to make some... adjustments to make ye more comfortable." I can only imagine what his first thought was when he brought me to the empty Cove before. He saw that I wasn't making any comment on the place and he continued. "Surprised that I took on the job for ye?"
"I am more surprised that you didn't make it impossible for me to clean up the mess." I state. I would think that the villains I have always faced are double crossers and that they will find ways around my deal I gave to them. I wouldn't put it past them.
Foxy narrows his one eye at me in mischief. "I won't allow ye to work too hard in my Cove so I took care of it for ye."
"But this is MY punishment Foxy. Freddy told me-" I tried to protest about it, but then my mouth started muffling because Foxy shot his left hand out to hush me.
"That landlubber did say ye had to clean. He didn't say specifically that no one in his group can take over for ye..." Foxy claims as he is snaking his way from behind my back to the face me, all the while giving a mischievous pirate smile and a wink. "Did ye take a look at anything familiar in my Cove? I recreated the ship that we used to play on back in 1985. I also took the liberty of bringing the island with hidden treasure back on the map. I even put a ball-pit underneath the ship, just so that no one gets hurt when they walk the plank. There are still some things I have to work on here and there, but in the meantime why not indulge a bit in the nostalgia of being pirate buddies once more." I silently watch him as he goes on to talk about what it was like back in 1985, a time unfamiliar to me. "Did ye know that you impressed Foxy the Pirate by offering him your doubloons for passage to join his crew, to join up with me all those years ago? You made his day as he chuckled at yer effort to lighten his mood after when he thought ye were trespassing without his permission. I remember he told ye to keep those doubloons close to you for he wanted to teach ye that friendship and teamwork is the most important part of being on Foxy's pirate crew and that ye passed his test." He had a dreamy kind of look on his face as he thinks over the memory, something that he was allowed to keep in the midst of the nightmarish mess he was in, while I was left with nothing but nightmares of '87 and '91. "It was a great adventure to set sail with ye and yer doll Freddy Fredbear. I would teach ye how to steer the wheel, how to properly climb the rope ladder..."
I shake my head as I spoke up. All I was thinking in my thoughts at the moment was that he is going to hate my confession. Would that be enough hate to kill me on the spot? "Foxy... I don't remember what you are talking about."
Foxy freezes as he looks at me in shock, a gasp escapes his mechanical lips. "You... don't remember the fun we had together?" While his stance makes him look like he is calm it is his eyes that are showing he is panicking in realization that he can't get something he wants. Would he try to decipher my confession as a lie to give himself comfort? He won't find it as much as I can't find my memories of the past before the murderer showed up in our lives. The lights flickered on and off a couple of times in the cove as I saw the image of Foxy in my android suit vanish in front of me and in place of it was the kid I once knew. I didn't like that he used his past self to trick me on my return to the building after my dare. Foxy, or Todd, was shivering as if caught in the bitter cold, tears of blood running down his cheeks as he looks at me. "Little buddy!" His voice broken in sorrow. "Is this all... because I've been a terrible friend to you? Why do you close the door on me?"
I stood in silence as I watch him trying to wipe away his tears. Ever since our death a long time ago, our ghosts could always be identified by our tears rolling down our faces in shadow forms, but if we appeared in front of someone then the tears were blood. I don't know how we were able to produce so much tears as a ghost but it was in linked with how much we missed our families and how much regret we held in our hearts when we couldn't reunite with our loved ones again until we got our vengeance. "Its nothing like that! I remember bits and pieces but the memories from '85 are rare compared to the others. Chica mentioned to me that my death in the past traumatized my memory and I must have forgotten about them when I got reborn. I just... need to try to retrace them somehow."
"You can remember everything else but THAT year?! What the Bermuda Triangle!" Foxy cursed in his pirate accent, under the flickering lights he reappeared in my android suit. "I thought you gained those memories back after when I accidentally killed you!" He then sighs disapprovingly all while shrugging his shoulders and wiping the bloody tears from his amber eyes. "Well I guess if ye want something done right, ye have to do it yerself! I will find something in my Cove to jog that rusty brain of yers to remember." He pokes at my forehead with his right pointer finger to prove his point.
I shake my head, despite the jolt in my brain telling me to back away from him when he poked my forehead. "Thanks for the offer but I have to decline. I need to get back to work." I was about ready to head on out of the cove until Foxy grabs my right arm and pulls me back toward him.
"Work! Work! Work! Work! Is that all you care about now instead of hanging out with your best friend? I want you to spend some time with me little buddy! Its been over forty-three years since we last played together! Not as enemies but as friends! Can't you just abandon ship on your work and have some fun?" Foxy said in a sarcastic tone of voice while holding my arm, keeping me from going anywhere.
"Fun went south ever since we died long ago." I clarify as I shake my head. "Things change Foxy! I am not the same shy little girl you once knew! You are not the same kid that I once knew either!"
He briefly growls, swinging my body over to the wall, not in a rough manner but gentle like splashing into the water. I almost got dizzy from the swing but my sight refocuses as I feel his shadow fully trapping me underneath him. His left hand was on the center of my chest, I could feel how tight and secure he was keeping me immobile. If I had tried to run away at that time, he wouldn't let me, so I don't move a muscle as I felt his amber eyes glowing in the dark. Just staring at his eyes I couldn't decide whether he had the look of a hungry predator savoring his catch or if he was intending on finishing me off before the 5 nights were up all because of my refusal to comply with his demands. His soft growl gave me chills in his whisper. "I know you are not the same sweet Ella I know long ago...But can ye blame me for wanting what I can never have with ye?" Honestly I don't blame him for having those thoughts but there was something about how close he was getting to me is making me feel uncomfortable. My heart is banging against my chest much like how he would knock on the door. I couldn't move, my legs froze up in fear as he picks up my braid and loosens it in those mechanical fingertips. "To hold ye in me arms... To brush away your tears... To take your mind away from the hurt and bring some joy and laughter in your life once more... Its been so long since I heard ye laugh your heart out Vixey." For some strange reason I shiver when he said my name in that low husky voice. Something is going on with his obsession with me. I want to tell him that I don't want to laugh out loud, not in the same building where Golden Freddy is hiding. One giggle from me and that bear will come and hunt me down and he won't stop until I am dead. I try to speak up but I fall silent and look down to the ground. Then the next thing that happened was when he brought out that hook, using the sharp point to push my chin upwards until our eyes locked together.
"I can't give you what you want Foxy!" I protest. Thankfully he stops and lets my chin go. Whether he is offended by that statement or he is confused, I can't tell in his facial expression. I raise my left arm over my chest, clenching my fingers tightly. "My heart belongs to James." Even though James himself never really seen how much I longed to show him how capable I was in doing the dares, I always thought to myself that he and I would be together in the end. But he is dead now and I am left with longing for him from afar in a classic school girl crush.
Foxy rolls his eyes in annoyance at the mention of one of my dead friends, scoffing. "Oh please! That egotistical fur ball didn't show any interest in ye. I could see in his heart that he only cared about his own bachelorhood, no mention of finding a girl to love."
"You don't know that!" I protest before he covers my mouth shut with his hand.
"A word of advice little buddy..." He speaks slow and chilling like the tide at the rise of a full moon. "A good pirate doesn't waste their time on the appearance of the treasure, they study how much its value is worth. Ye are a treasure that shouldn't be wasted on someone who doesn't care about ye. If he can't see it, that scurvy landlubber never stood a chance! I find ye more valuable than that."
I take his hand off my mouth and shake my head at him. "Foxy, you can't be in love..." I didn't want to finish the rest of my question, fearing that if I did he would use it against me. Now that I think about it maybe I should try out Cooper and Ken's ideas of distracting him with my movies on the next night.
Foxy blinks his eyes in confusion, his predator stance faded as he looks at me. "Love?... What is Love?" He asks like he never heard of that word before.
"Didn't you research that in all those years of being stuck here Foxy? You are a coldhearted killer pirate fox and you don't know anything about love?" I wasn't sure I believed him in his confusion, but he had that look of an innocent child who is not familiar with a vocabulary word. I sigh as I place my right hand in the middle of my chest. "Love... is a very special emotion... It tells you that you like someone and you want to be with that person for the rest of your life. It also tells you that you are happy to see someone else is happy, having fun and doing stuff that they like. But the biggest test of love is that you will do anything to protect the person you care about whether he or she is in danger." I can tell that he is listening closely, but I am not sure how he is going to process it. Even if he understood what I wanted to tell him, I know that a relationship with him would be impossible. He is dead and I am alive for one thing. He is a kid and I am an adult now, and he is a robot and I have flesh. There is so many things that will keep us apart so why should I even consider being with him after all of this time? "Anyway, if you think you are in love with me, then you have wasted your time yearning for me Foxy. We can't be together."
"Then teach me how Vixey! In return I will find whatever we can unlock in those suppressed memories of yers together! I can even reteach you on how to act like a pirate!" Foxy said, either in a effort to keep me from going anywhere to finish my work or to try to gain my friendship back.
"I don't even know how to talk like a pirate or how to act like one!" I start arguing to prove my point.
Before I can finish my list of complaints, I heard Freddy clearing his throat in the background as we turned to see him watching us from the door to the Cove. The bear had his arms crossed and narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "If you two are quite finished with your break from work, you really need to get back home right now Vixey. It is six so you are free to go for the morning."
"Oh, well in that case I better head on out." I start to walk out before Foxy tries to stop me from going anywhere. Thankfully I didn't have to worry about keeping him away from me; Freddy made sure to grab the pirate's arm and pulls him to the side.
"Cool it lover boy. Your heart is running in the way of your head." Freddy said to Foxy as I was walking through the hall to gather up my cleaning tools to take back home and restock.
"Oh stop that! She was just teaching me what love really is!" Foxy tries to make an excuse toward Freddy. While they were arguing I better check on my cleaned up rooms one more time before heading out.
As I was going to look through the office room I drop my bucket and the rest of my tools. I clench my hands to keep myself from shaking in rage at the mess. Bonnie was in the office room, messing everything up; dirtying up the desk, bringing mud onto the floor, vandalizing the walls and tearing up the wires connecting toward the doors. Once he felt I was watching, Bonnie stops hopping on the dirty floor and turns to me with a sickening grin. Is that bunny even ashamed of what he is doing?! I expected this, but my blood was boiling in rage to do something about it.
I take my high heel shoe off my right foot and slam it toward the ground as I am marching toward the pesky rabbit Animatronic. "Ye scurvy landlubber!" I cursed in anger, briefly surprised that I said a curse in Foxy's language. I can feel right behind me that when he heard me calling Bonnie a landlubber Foxy grins slyly while looking in Freddy's direction. Bonnie wasn't fazed by my outburst as he knocks over some more dust on the desk and hops happily back to the stage, all the while giving me the evil eye and an evil smile. I quickly grab my broom and try to chase after him. "I am just going to have to teach you a lesson Bugs Bunny!"
Foxy stops me as he grabs my arm and shakes his head. "I'll take care of him, little buddy. Oh and by the way, I knew ye were lyin' about forgetting how to act like a pirate." He smiles teasingly as he runs off to locate Bonnie in the building.
In all of my years of getting after them why can't I catch a break with these guys?

In the afternoon when I got caught up in sleeping, I received a call from Cooper and Ken who were wondering how I did on the first night. I told them to come on over so that we can chat about it in person. As soon as they came a few minutes later I brought them to the basement and I took out some big screen TV's from our storage closet.
"So how did everything go Vixey? No monsters tried to kill you last night?" Ken spoke up, curious about why I was gathering up the TV's in the living room.
"First night was hunky dory, all except for the fact that my androids got stolen by Chica and Foxy." I explain to them. Ken and Cooper's eyes widen in surprise. "Turns out the reason for that was because Foxy feels that he wants my attention, so for the second night I need your help in deciding on what movies to distract the Animatronics with."
"So that's why you are taking four TV's out of your basement. Weren't those going to be used for your mom's next charity event in Ohio next month?" Cooper asks curiously.
"I will order new ones to be sent here while I deal with distracting the robots. I even made sure to have them on express delivery, which thankfully is two days from now." I clarify with a sigh. "Okay, so in your opinions guys, which shows or movies will be good enough to keep the Animatronics busy based on the knowledge I shared with you about them?"
"Well obviously in Foxy's case, I say you should give him some Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but make sure you only give him the first four movies. Peter Pan might be a good option too just in case. Do you think he might like SpongeBob too?" Ken said while I organize a movie case to take with me to the building.
"I'll stick with the movies for now, but I will keep that as a last resort Ken." I say as I rub my eyes to get the sand out.
"Chica could be more interested in cooking shows like the ones we watch on Food Network or the Travel Channel." Cooper mentions. "Bonnie could like School of Rock or we can even give him the Guitar Hero series." My only problem was what kind of movies Freddy would enjoy for the distractions. So while I get all of my movies in order I am taking my chances on the James Bond movies and see if it catches the bears attention.
These TV's I have are not the kind you are familiar with. I have built these TV's myself for the charity events mom is in charge of, or you can say I gave them some extra things that your stores have not dared to come up with yet. While TV's need to have something like a DVD player or Blueray to hook up to, mine are linked into the TV on the side where you can insert the disc in. Not only that but if you wanted to continue your movie from where you paused, the TV will resume its course with the movie of choice you want in there. All I can hope is that Freddy and his gang will be distracted by these creations of mine that they will leave me be to do my work.
XXXX
(Second Night)
I got over to the Fazbear Fright building as early as 10 P.M. so that I could work on setting up the TV's right away. I managed to get the first TV set up in the kitchen pretty easily and I set it to the Cooking channel for Chica and I quickly went to work in Foxy's Cove so that I can get the TV up before he even wakes up. The Stage room made it difficult for me to tell where I should set the TV for Freddy and Bonnie, so I thought maybe I can set it up in the center of the stage wall. I then got the video game area set up on the side of that TV in case Bonnie wanted to try playing Guitar Hero.
Just as I got to the finishing touches on the TV I heard Freddy mumbling sleepily in the background. "What is it with that infernal racket I am hearing?"
"Just setting you guys up something new to play around with." I said while I set down some of the movie folder down on the floor.
"Is that a guitar next to the TV?" Bonnie walks over and grabs the guitar for the video game.
"Help yourself to some Guitar Hero, Bugs." I mention as I browse through the movie folder to get the James Bond DVDs for Freddy. "But DON'T think that I am just going to forgive you for making a mess of my work! Because I am not as weak as you like to THINK!"
"Oh pah! Humans are actually weak, both physically and mentally." Bonnie says, trying to get under my skin. "Your precious night guards couldn't defeat us, so what makes you think you can get rid of us now? Just because you have been stuck here with us those many years ago doesn't make you special any more than we are Fifth Child."
"Last I checked..." My voice turns cold as I direct it to Bonnie. "...The Puppet mentioned that I was the special one to have Golden Freddy, but that was before it did the deed in destroying my body inside of the suit. If you try to say I am not special enough to earn your respect, then You don't get to earn my respect either. Do you choose to be a man or a cowardly bunny?"
Bonnie was just about ready to slam his hands around my face, but Freddy was quick enough to stop him before he went through with it. "THAT's ENOUGH! Bonnie you need to tone down on your aggressive behavior toward our friend! That goes for you as well Vixey! I will not accept a bloodbath on my hands before the whole deal is up!"
"She is as weak as they come Freddy! She may act like she is the tough girl on the outside, but inside she is still that sensitive, pacifist girl who couldn't get her Golden Freddy plush back!" Bonnie argues with Freddy, his huge hands are clenching tightly on the toy guitar. For a second I thought that I am going to have to buy a new one considering how it looks like it is going to snap at any moment.
Freddy pulls Bonnie back from the TV, making him drop the guitar from his hands. I dove down quietly to catch it. "Being stuck here in the restaurant changed us from who we once were Bonnie. That includes Vixey as well. Years of fighting us to keep the night guards safe has hardened her and given her some maturity. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if she had turned her heart to stone against us. But calling her weak is unacceptable Bonnie, she still has her dormant telekinesis abilities as much as you still have super strength. Your job right now is to follow my orders, not question them... You must apologize to Vixey for your behavior Bonnie."
Bonnie looked like he didn't want to obey what Freddy was giving, but sighs as he utters reluctantly to me. "Sorry Vixey."
"I'm sorry too." I admit. Strangely I could feel my heart easing up from the tense situation I was in.
"What is those discs in your hands Vixey?" Freddy inquires as he points to what I am holding.
"Oh! Right! I wasn't sure if you like James Bond movies or anything in particular Freddy, so I just grabbed what I think would be appropriate for you." I explain to him, trying to act professional with him.
"Hmm... Its been so long since I have watched a movie. I am open to anything you have for me." Freddy sounded eager to check out the movies. With this in mind I insert the first James Bond movie into the TV and get it set up for him.
"I will need to go to Foxy's Cove and get his movies set up before he wakes up." I briefly look back to see Freddy and Bonnie sitting quietly on the stage floor watching the movie get started while I rush in to the Cove as quick as I can.
I check on my time with my new cellphone Cooper gave to me. Its ten minutes to midnight! I need to hurry and get the pirate movies set up for Foxy. Once I found the entrance to the Cove, I quietly go over to the TV and make sure that I am not being watched. Everything in the Cove seems quiet, but maybe a little too quiet for my tastes. While I am trying to act calm in the Cove and bring out the pirate movie DVDs, I seem to be looking over my right shoulder more times than I can count, trying to watch Foxy's stage behind me like a hawk.
I hear his voice right beside me, making me jump. "Yer looking the wrong direction lassie." Sure enough, he was on my left side as quiet as ever. I quickly look back to the TV and try to use my right hand in choosing one of the movies I had chosen as a distraction for Foxy, all while not looking at him. "What is that you are working on?"
I sigh as I am trying to keep calm in his presence. "A TV."
He comments. "I've never had a TV. Last I recall in my past life, my parents never had a TV. They thought that it would be too distracting for me, so they wanted me to play outside and use my imagination." Secretly I admit to myself that he must have had really good parents who knew the dangers of watching television day after day like dry rot waiting to set in. "Why are you setting it up for yer captain?"
I scrunch up my face in disgust, trying to not look at him while searching for the first DVD disc to put in. "To entertain you while I am working." I wanted to just say to him that he is not my captain, but I don't want to give him any ideas, not like the last few times we encountered each other. Instead I thought to keep my responses short and on the point. Romantics not included.
"Why don't you join me in watching the movies? I bet you can help me with the entertainment." Foxy offers with a small smile, trying to get me to look away from the TV.
I turn my head away from the screen and insert the DVD into the TV. "I can't stop and watch the movie. I just came here to put the TV in and then head on to the Parts/Services room for the cleanup."
Foxy looked like he wanted to protest against my decision, but he nods his head. I am not sure if he will plan on asking me later after the work is done or if he is waiting for the opportunity for me to drop my guard as soon as the five nights are up. I need to be on the top of my game and catch up with the work I have missed out on when I was knocked out last night. There is also the threat of Golden Freddy, the Puppet and Springtrap to worry about. Springtrap should be the easiest of my enemies, after all he couldn't keep up with me in our last fight. Pooh bear and the Puppet will be more of a problem since I have no idea of how to counter against them yet. Will the Puppet still be vulnerable to the music box to make it go to sleep? Or has it learned like the others to bypass that program in its system? "Understandable... There is one thing I wanted to ask you Vixey..."
I press the play button and hope that the movie will come up to take his attention away from me. "What do you want to ask?" I try to sound disinterested, but it is filled with caution.
"What is the origin of your name? Where did your nightguard get the name he gave you?" Foxy asks, curiously cocking his head to the side while putting his eyepatch up.
I shake my head as I cross my arms. "I'm not telling you." While I was pretty confident that Foxy will get distracted by the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I didn't suspect that I had something wrong in the TV until I heard a character in the TV say hi to someone and then a female voice answered hello. One second I was calm, and then the next second I was shaking my head furiously. My face burns in embarrassment as I shouted, "Oh shi-! How did THAT movie get in HERE?!" Now I remember that I had the Fox and the Hound DVD in the movie case and I just gave Foxy the answer to his question through the movie! I am such an idiot!
Foxy was watching the scene in front of him in interest, his left pointer finger tapping on his mouth, listening closely to what Tod the fox was saying to his new girlfriend in the movie. "That girl fox is named Vixey as well." When the fox character telling his girlfriend his name, Foxy narrows his eyes at me while his lips curve to a sly smile, probably planning on teasing me for it. "Now do you care to explain lass?"
I undid my braid and the barrette just so that I can hide my red face from his line of sight, using my hair like a curtain. "My mom named me Vixey after the one in the movie. Its embarrassing to be named after an animal! I know! So you can save your efforts on belittling me on it!"
He shakes his head playfully chuckling. "Nah! That just makes ye more adorable! Plus it tells me that ye and I should stick together." How in the world am I going to make him forget about his obsession with me? I didn't want to respond to more of his feedback so I told him out loud while fanning my face from the heat. "I'm going back to work!"

A/N: I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! Forgive me for being away from this story for a long time, but I am going to try to focus on this story as much as I can. Expect the next chapter soon! I will get back into the horror pretty soon in the next couple of chapters.
