A year after the Dimensional War and the revival of Zarc, and everything in Paradise City had seemed to die down. Until one day a mysterious group called the Arbiters came and invaded the Pendulum Dimension to capture Declan Akaba and Yuya Sakaki. It's now up to Yuya and his friends to travel to this unknown dimension in search for the answers to their questions.

7. The Heavystrong Trial Part 2

It was around midnight at You Show Academy, and all was quiet across the secluded island. Everyone was in their dorm rooms sleeping for the big duel between Gong Strong and Sora Perse.

If Gong wins this duel, then he'll learn Fusion Summoning from Sora, so he can become stronger to aid his friends in the Link Dimension. But if he doesn't, he couldn't only aid his friends, but he can't learn it from anyone else in the Fusion Dimension per Sora's conditions. All this pressure was wavering over him which made it harder for him to prepare.

Gong was sitting on the floor of the room he was staying in looking over his cards thinking of different strategies.

"Now let's see. Both Gong and Sora have seen each other duel, so they know each other's decks in and out, which makes it easier for them to come up with counter strategies. But knowing Sora, he's been able to pull off many surprises, and even after witnessing so many, Gong still feels like there's many left hidden and Gong doesn't have anything to match up to it." Gong said with disappointment in his voice.

"Maybe Gong just has possibly or even no chance of beating Sora tomorrow, and if he can't, then he can't Learn Fusion Summoning to become stronger and assist Yuya, Zuzu, and his fellow Lancers." Gong said as he punched the wall in anger creating a hole in it.

"I guess that means you're going to give up? That isn't the Gong we know." A familiar voice said.

Gong then turns around and sees Iggy and Alexis both standing in his doorway.

"Iggy and Alexis? What are you two doing here?" Gong asked.

"After your meeting with Sora and accepting his high stakes duel, Iggy and I thought we would come check up on you, to see if you're okay." Alexis replied.

"To be honest, Gong's a little worried." Gong said. "When Gong gets nervous, he tries not to let nerves get the best of him, even when something big is on the line like when during the Dimensional War where I could get turned into a card. Back then his teammates could help him out, but now Gong has to tackle this problem all on his own, and feels that he can't overcome it."

"Because you're afraid that after learning Sora's watched all 100 of your duels he knows your deck inside and out better than before, and you're having trouble figuring out a way to throw him off, right?" Iggy asked.

"Right on the mark." Gong answered.

"Even so, Gong, you can't let that affect you." Alexis mentioned. "Just because your opponent has a better insight of your deck than you do of theirs, doesn't mean they've officially won the duel. You just have to come up with some combos that Sora has never seen and that you've never tried which can give you a slight advantage."

Gong then sat in silence before standing up and looked at Alexis. "You're right!" Gong exclaimed. "Gong should be coming up with a winning strategy instead of sulking in fear when nothing has even happened yet."

"That's what we want to hear!" Alexis stated.

"Glad we could motivate you," Iggy added. "We'll leave you be, so you can focus on your big duel tomorrow."

"Thanks, and Gong promises to the both of you that he'll pull off something unexpected during his match against Sora."

"Can't wait to see it. Good night Gong." Alexis said as she and Iggy waved goodbye.

"Good night. See you tomorrow." Gong said as he waved back and continued to work on his deck to prepare for tomorrow.

Twelve hours later…

The next day, everyone was at the main arena again where Gong had his 100 del challenge with every student from every dorm was in a seat, clamoring about what a great match this would be. Some students were discussing with one another on whose going to win the duel with some favoring Sora and the others favoring Gong. But the others just turned him out, even though Chazz wants to see Gong lose…

Down below, the two duelists stepped onto the platform and walked towards the middle of it, where the two of them stared each other down.

"Alright Sora, Gong's going to give it his all in this duel," Gong said, holding out his hand.

Sora nodded and took his hand, shaking it. "Wouldn't want to have it any other way, Gong."

After exchanging pleasant formalities, the two duelists walked back to their ends and faced each other once again, their duel disks now activating. Gong took his five cards for his hand and looked up at Sora, who was doing the same thing. The air in the arena was thick with tension.

Iggy looked at Alexis, who held a microphone and nodded.

"Attention students of You Show Academy, the match between Sora Perse of the Fusion Dimension and Gong Strong of the Pendulum Dimension!" Alexis announced as she handed the microphone over to Iggy.

"As most of you know, Gong came here to learn Fusion Summoning from Sora only if he defeated 100 students in a row, which he successfully accomplished. But today is where he takes his true test. If he manages to beat Sora, he'll learn Fusion Summoning, but if he ends up losing, not only won't Sora teach him, but he can't learn it from anyone else in the Fusion Dimension." Iggy said.

"Enough small talk!" Sora snapped.

"You got that right," Gong shot back at him.

The two of them now had a look of fierce determination on their faces.

"LET'S DUEL!" the two of them shouted as the crowd cheered wildly.

Sora LP: 4000

VS

Gong LP: 4000

"So, who goes first?" Gong asked.

"I'll let you go first, since you're going to need all the help you can get," Sora replied.

"Very well then, here goes!" Gong announced. "I'm summoning out Superheavy Samurai Trainer!" A mechanical samurai with an oversized torso and thin limbs appeared on Gong's field.

"Gong activates Trainer's effect." Gong continued. "By releasing him, I can Special Summon up to two "Superheavy Samurai" Monsters from my Deck whose attack is lower than this card's attack. Come, two copies of Superheavy Samurai Magnet in defense mode!"

Two copies of Magnet emerged from Trainer's torso, landing on the field and forming an electromagnetic barrier with their hands joined.

Superheavy Samurai Magnet ATK 900 DEF 1900 LVL: 4 × 2

"Thanks to Magnet's effect, you can't attack any other Monsters except for Magnet." Gong stated. "And since Gong controls two of them, you can't attack any of them. I end my turn with this."

"Not bad, Gong." Sora praised. "Normally, that strategy would be good against an average duelist, but against someone like me, it's nothing but a cheap play that I won't be deterred by."

"Well, prove to me if your words are right or not." Gong said.

"With pleasure! My turn! Draw!" Sora drew his card and looked at his hand. Smiling, he chose a card.

"First I activate Fluffal Bear's effect from my hand," Sora began to say, revealing the card. "By sending it to the graveyard, I'm allowed to set Toy Vendor straight from my deck."

A pink, winged bear manifested itself and floated up into a shining sky created by the dome, leaving a single feather that dropped gently onto Sora's deck. In that instant, the deck let out a single card that revealed to be Toy Vendor before he grabbed it and placed it in his duel-disk.

"Next I'll summon my Edge Imp Saw!" A demonic looking saw with two glowing red eyes appeared on Sora's field.

Edge Imp Saw (500/1000) LVL: 3

"When this razor sharp shredder is successfully summoned, I can send a "Fluffal" monster, like my Fluffal Deer from my hand to the grave to draw two more cards!" I'll send my Fluffal Deer and draw two cards!" Sora explained as he discarded the monster before proceeding to draw two more cards.

He smiled when he saw that he drew Fluffal Wings and Edge Imp Sabres. "All right, now all the preparations are complete." Sora said to himself. "I activate my Toy Vendor which I set before!

Suddenly, the ground began shaking as a giant capsule machine rose from the ground. It wore a top red hat and had two glass orbs for the eyes, and hands with gloves. It also had a pink slide that resembled a tongue with a hole.

"I now activate Toy Vendor's effect! Once per turn, I can discard a card to draw a new card." Sora grabbed Fluffal Wing from his hand and sent it to his graveyard. "Then, if the card I draw is a Level 4 or below monster, I can Special Summon it. Otherwise, it is sent to the graveyard."

Sora then placed his fingers on his deck, "Now I draw!"

He drew his next card and looked at it, "The card I drew…" He then turned the card around to show it, "Is Fluffal Mouse, and since it's a Level 1 monster, I can summon it!" A small capsule rolled out of the machine, and it opened; a monster then came out onto the field that resembled a cute round blue mouse with angelic wings.

Fluffal Mouse (100/100) LVL: 1

"It's so cute!" A few female students shouted when they saw the Fluffal monster.

"Even so, they're unaware that looks can be deceiving." Alexis chimed in with a quiet voice full of disdain.

"You're right about that." Iggy said. Let's keep watching and see how this turn plays out."

"Because I special summoned a "Fluffal" monster, I can banish Fluffal Deer from my graveyard to add a copy of Polymerization from my deck to my hand, as well as drawing a card since it was summoned through Toy Vendor." Sora said, bringing his hand with a total of six cards in it.

Now I use Mouse's effect!" Sora declared. "When this card is face up on the field in Attack Position, I can bring out two more copies of this card from my deck!" Sora explained as his monster's eyes glowed bright red while two more copies appeared.

Fluffal Mouse x2 (100/100) LVL: 1

"Gong's got a feeling he knows what you're planning next." Gong said.

"You got that right! But why don't I show you instead?" Sora stated. "I use Polymerization to fuse my three Fluffal Mice on the field, with Fluffal Cat Edge Imp Sabres in my hand!" All five monsters swirled together into a colorful vortex as Sora placed his hands together and chanted.

"Edge of sharpness, fangs of cat and mayhem of mice! When the four come together, you will pay the price! I Fusion Summon! Frightfur Tiger!" Sora yelled as a cyan colored demonic plush tiger with red eyes glowing from its mouth appeared. The tiger had a giant pair of Sabres attached to its torso.

Frightfur Tiger (1900/1200) LVL:6

"You should already be familiar with this card's effect! When Tiger is successfully summoned, I can destroy cards on your field up to the amount of its Fusion Materials! Meaning both your magnets are history!" Sora shouted as his monster's Sabres extended out towards Gong's field.

Gong raised both his eyebrows before responding. " I activate Superheavy Samurai Soul Yomi's effect." (ATK: 0/DEF: 0/LV: 1) Gong abruptly stated. If a "Superheavy Samurai" card on my field would be destroyed, Gong can send this card to the Graveyard to negate their destruction and draw cards for each one saved, in this case two."

"Not bad, but I'm far from done!" Sora stated. "First, since Cat was used to Fusion Summon, I can return Polymerization from my grave to my hand! Then, Frightfur Tiger's additional effect, gives all my Frightfurs 300 ATK for every Frightfur or Fluffal I control!

Frightfur Tiger: ATK 1900 → 2200

Next, I activate Fusion Conscription!" Sora stated. "Through its effect, I target one Fusion Monster in my Extra Deck to add one of the Fusion Materials listed on it from my Deck or Graveyard to my hand. I choose to reveal Frightfur Leo to add Fluffal Leo from my deck to my hand. Now I activate Polymerization once again, and fuse both Fluffal Leo and Edge Imp Saw on my field!"

Both Edge Imp Saw and Fluffal Leo swirled into the colorful vortex as Sora placed his hands together and chanted.

"Sharpened steel and ruler of the jungle! When the two come together, prepare to rumble! I Fusion Summon! Frightfur Leo!"

Sora yelled as a demonic looking plush lion with multiple razor saws through its body appeared.

Frightfur Leo (2400/2000) LVL: 7

"Another Fusion Monster." Gong said.

"Now the ATK of both my Leo and Tiger rises since another Frightfur has entered the field!"

Frightfur Leo: ATK 2400 → 3000

Frightfur Tiger: ATK 2200 → 2500

"I activate Leo's effect! It can destroy an opponent's monster and deal damage equal to its ATK to my opponent! I target one of your Magnets! Take this!" Sora yelled as Frightfur Leo let out a squealing roar before it detached the saw blades on his head and launched them towards Superheavy Samurai Magnet, destroying Magnet and causing Gong to wince in pain.

Gong LP: 4000→3100

"Time for battle! Frightfur Tiger, attack Superheavy Samurai Magnet!" Sora commanded. His tiger leaped forward towards the magnetic samurai.

Gong grit his teeth as he took a card from his hand. "When a "Superheavy Samurai" monster battles while Gong has no Spell or Trap Cards in his Graveyard, He can discard Superheavy Samurai Guardian!" he declared. "Doing so will halve the battle damage, and end the Battle Phase!" Gong explained as the attack burst through Magnet, cleaving it in two and destroying it in an explosion. The energy continued towards Gong, who grit his teeth.

"The effect of the discarded Guardian halves the battle damage!" he reminded Sora. A transparent, tall, and slim gray humanoid machine wearing a black kimono, a white obi, and a magatama necklace appeared and extended its hands. A barrier appeared around Gong. The attack struck the barrier, and while the attack lowered in strength, the barrier eventually broke, and the attack struck.

Gong: 3100→2300 LP

"If Gong didn't draw Guardian through Yomi's effect, then he would've lost!" Iggy mentioned.

"Luckily, he did, and successfully survived the turn." Alexis added.

"Guardian's effect also ends the Battle Phase, so you cannot attack anymore this turn," Gong said.

Sora smirked. "You're pretty tough, aren't you, big guy?" Sora asked rhetorically. "I set two cards face-down and end my turn."

"If Gong's unable to do something on his next turn, then come Sora's turn, he'll either attack me with his two Fusions or probably summon another one to make it three, which is even worse." Gong thought to himself. "So, Gong hopes that whatever he draws now will be helpful."

"What's wrong Gong?" Sora asked. "You aren't beginning to doubt yourself, are you?"

"Gong never doubts himself." He retorted. "My turn! Draw!" Gongenzaka looked at his card, then at his field. "Since Gong has no monsters on his field, the effect of Superheavy Samurai Guardian in Gong's graveyard activates, and it resurrects itself!" The humanoid wearing a black kimono from before reappeared, this time solid, sitting cross-legged, and in Defense Position.

Superheavy Samurai Guardian ATK 900 DEF 1700 LVL: 4

"Now, since Gong has no Spells or Traps in his grave, he can bring out Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" A small robot wearing red armor, a pointy metal hat, and carrying a small trumpet appeared.

Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter ATK 300 DEF 600 LVL: 2

"Now I tune the Level 2 Trumpeter with the Level 4 Guardian!" Gong announced as Guardian turned into four stars and Trumpeter turned into two green rings surrounding them.

"Rise your roar cry divine ogre! Show yourself onto this battlefield of storm and light! Synchro summon!" A green flash emerged before a large, red, ogre-like robot with a spiked club appeared in defense mode. "Now depart for the front! Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji!"

Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji (500/2500) LVL:6

"Since Guardian left the field, its effect banishes itself," Gong said. "Now Shutendoji's effect activates! When it's successfully Synchro summoned, while Gong has no Spell or Trap cards in his graveyard, Shutendoji can destroy all spell or trap cards on my opponent's field!" Gong yelled pointing at Sora's Spell/Trap Zone.

"Well before that happens, I activate the Trap Card, Sixth Sense! Now you roll a die and I select two numbers. If the result is either of the selected numbers, then I draw that many draws. But if it's a different number, then I have to send that many cards to the Graveyard from the top of my deck." Sora explained.

This isn't good," Gong thought. "Sora has a 1/3 chance where Sora could get a hand advantage over me. And if he does, then he will have a bunch of opportunities to overpower Gong."

"I pick the numbers five and six." Sora said as a blue die materialized on Gong's field as he picked it up and rolled it. It rolled down the middle of the arena, passing the two players as it went. It stopped near the edge of the arena, landing with a thud. On its surface were six even spaced dots.

"It's six, so I'm allowed to draw six new cards." Sora said as he drew six cards, refilling his hand as his spells and traps got destroyed by Shutendoji.

"Toy Vendor's effect activates! When it's destroyed, I'm allowed to add a "Fluffal" monster from my deck to my hand, and the monster I choose is my Fluffal Dog!" Sora stated as he took the card from his deck and revealed it Gong before placing it in his hand.

"Well because Gong summoned a Superheavy Synchro Monster, he can summon a Superheavy Samurai Soulclaw!" Gong said as the claw-like monster appeared.

Superheavy Samurai Soul Shine Claw (500/500) LVL:2

"But it doesn't end because I equip Soulclaw and Superheavy Samurai Soulhorns in my hand onto Shutendoji." Gong declared as his ogre became equipped with a set of shoulder pads with massive horns and the mechanical red claw.

"Due to the effects of my monsters, Shutendoji gains 500 ATK and DEF and the ability to attack twice so long as I have no Spell or Trap cards in my Graveyard!"

Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji ATK 500→1000 DEF 2500→3000 LVL: 6

"Battle! Shutendoji, attack Frightfur Tiger!" Gongenzaka shouted as his monster shot it's metal claw towards the demonic plush tiger, destroying it in the process.

Sora: 4000-3500 LP

"Not bad. Now Frightfur Leo loses 600 ATK since Tiger left the field." Sora explained as his monster powered down.

Frightfur Leo (3000/1500)-(2400/1500)

"I'm not done yet! Because Shutendoji can attack twice thanks to Soulhorns! "Shutendoji now attacks your Frightfur Leo!" This time Shutendoji swung his club at Frightfur Leo and smashed him into smaller pieces. Sora held his arm in front of him while grunting a little from the damage.

Sora LP: 3500→2900

"Gong now ends his turn." Gong said as he narrowed his eyes. Like Gong said before, he'll win this duel to learn Fusion Summoning, so he can become stronger!"

"Let's see if you can back up those words. "My turn!" Sora declared as he drew his card. "Now then Gong ol' buddy, I'll have you serve as a guinea pig to test out my brand-new power."

"Brand-new power?" Gong said all confused.

"With Scale 1 Edge Imp Cotton Eater and the Scale 5 Fluffal Fusionist, I Set the Pendulum Scale!"

Two columns of light appeared next to Sora's sides, with his two Monsters rising to their top. One of them was shaped like white-colored cotton candy split into two but with blades between the head and body, the other was a small, cute plush looking angelic fairy.

"Pendulum Monsters?" Gong who was surprised at this. "You now have Pendulum Cards, Sora?"

"Sure do!" Sora made a victory sign. "Back when Dennis, who was exposed as a member of Duel Academy, was still in possession of his Pendulum cards Using them as the basis, it was child's play for our card design department to start producing Pendulum Cards. Plus, I can't let you guys hog all the good stuff for yourselves after all."

"I guess not." Gong admitted. "But let's see if you're capable of this new power!"

"Oh I will!" Sora replied. It's time now for my first-ever Pendulum Summon! Appear! Come to my side, Fluffal Dog and Fluffal Owl!"

Two beams of light erupted from the Pendulum portal, solidifying into the forms of Monsters upon landing on Sora's field, both being small plush animals with wings, one being a dog and the other an owl.

Fluffal Dog/Level 4/ATK 1700/DEF 1000

Fluffal Owl/Level 2/ATK 1000/DEF 1000

"And now for Fluffal Dog and Owl's effects!" Sora exclaimed, "Allowing me to add Edge Imp Tomahawk and Polymerization from my deck to my hand!"

"Well since you did that, Gong can send Superheavy Samurai Supplier to the grave to use its effect!" Gong exclaimed as he slid the card into his graveyard slot. "When Gong has no Spell or Traps in his grave, and you add a card to your hand that brings your hand to at least six, then Gong can draw cards equal to the number of cards in your hand." Gong explained as he drew six more cards.

"Impressive move Gong, but mine are better. From my hand, I activate the Spell: Edge Nightmare! I can now Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Edge Imp Monster from my Graveyard! Come on back, Edge Imp Sabres!" Sora shouted as a monster that resembled a demonic form of a bunch of scissors attached with eyes in the holes of the shape appeared.

Edge Imp Scissors (1200/800) LVL: 3

"I follow that move up with Polymerization, which I'll use to fuse both Fluffal Dog and Edge Imp Sabres!" Sora exclaimed as Fluffal Dog and Edge Imp Sabres rose were both absorbed and fused into the colorful vortex as Sora held out his hands and chanted.

"Edge of sharpness and a dog's bite! "Together they're sure to give you a fright. I Fusion Summon! Frightful Hound!" Sora yelled as a large, demonic-looking plush toy dog with black fur and blades extending from its forehead and limbs appeared on his field, letting out a resonant howl.

Frightfur Hound/Level 7/ATK 2700/DEF 2200

"And don't forget that I still have a Normal Summon, so I'll summon Edge Imp Tomahawk!" A monster resembling a demonic tomahawk appeared on Sora's field.

Edge Imp Tomahawk (ATK: 1800/DEF: 800/LV: 4)

"I activate Edge Imp Tomahawk's effect." Sora continued. "By discarding Edge Imp Chain, I can inflict 800 points of damage to you, Gong!"

Several blades shot out of Edge Imp Tomahawk following Sora's words, striking Gong and causing him to shield himself

Gong: 2300→1500 LP

"And since Edge Imp Chain went to the graveyard, I'm allowed to add a "Frightfur" card from my deck to my hand." Sora explained as he searched his deck to select the card he wanted.

"Sora keeps pulling off some remarkable combos." Iggy mentioned.

"Well, let's hope it doesn't throw Gong's guard off.

Then, I activate Fluffal Fusionist's Pendulum Effect, which allows me to use monsters from both my hand and field to Fusion Summon a "Frightfur" Fusion Monster. I will fuse Fluffal Owl and Edge Imp Tomahawk!"

As his two Monsters swirled inside a multi-colored vortex, Sora chanted.

"Blades of steel and birds of prey! When you two come together, you're sure to be afraid! I Fusion Summon! Frightfur Eagle!"

Sora's owl turned into a brown eagle toy that has axe blades jutting out of its torso and a giant blade from each wing. It had a stitched up head with its beak wide open to show the demonic eyes in the blackness.

Frightfur Eagle/Level 7/ATK 2300/DEF 2000

"Two new Frightfurs I've never seen before." Gong said. "You sure weren't kidding when you said you were going to bring your A-game in this duel."

"I never lie when it comes to dueling Gong. Now to keep up the momentum, thanks to Cotton Eater's Pendulum Ability, the attack of all Fusion Monsters I control increases by 300."

Frightfur Hound (2700/200)-(3000/200)

Frightfur Eagle (2300/2000)-(2600/2000)

Furthermore, once per turn, I can draw one card from my Deck when I perform a Fusion Summon. However, we're far from finished. i activate Frightfur Eagle's effect! Once per turn at the cost of not attacking directly, I can destroy a monster my opponent controls whose attack is less than or equal to the combined attack of every Frightfur, Fluffal, and Edge Imp monster I control."

"What?!" Gong shouted in shock.

"You heard me! So, say sayonara to your Ogre Shutendoji!" Sora's monster opened its mouth wide and sucked up Ogre Shutendoji.

"You've put up a good fight, but it's time to end this. Battle!" Sora exclaimed. "Frightfur Hound, attack Gong directly and end this duel! Howling Slash!"

Hound let out a gigantic roar as several blades shot off its body, directly at Gong.

"Since Gong's being attacked directly and has no Spell or Traps in his graveyard, he can discard Superheavy Samurai Shaman to revive all "Superheavy Samurai" monsters that were destroyed this turn." Gong explained as a mechanical orange shaman who conjured a portal and emerged from it was Ogre Shutendoji.

Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji (DEF:2500)

"And if any of the revived monsters were with any "Superheavy Samurai Soul" cards, Gong can revive those monsters as well. Be reborn! Superheavy Samurai Soulclaw and Soulhorns!" Two more portals appeared next to Shaman and coming out of them were the two Superheavy Soul monsters.

"Guess I got to get rid of your monsters then." Sora said. "Frightfur Hound, attack Ogre Shutendoji!" Sora commanded as Hound released another gigantic roar releasing several blades from its mouth at Shutendoji, shredding it into pieces.

"At this moment, Hound's second effect activates!" Sora declared. "When it destroys your monster by battle, I can destroy another monster you control! I'll get rid of your Soulclaw!"

Following Sora's words, several blades shot out of Hound's at Soulclaw, destroying it.

"When Hound destroys an opponent's Monster through its effect, it gains 300 ATK!" Sora shouted as his monster's ATK rose.

(Hound ATK: 3000→3300)

"Next I'll have Frightfur Eagle attack Superheavy Samurai Soulhorns! Shredding Dive Bomb!" Sora declared his monster that spun like a whirlwind and chopped up its target with its sharp.

"Now Gong's field is empty." Iggy notified

"Remember Iggy, just because your field is empty doesn't mean you've lost the duel" Alexis said. Gong still has a chance to turn things around."

"I place two cards face-down and end my turn!" Sora stated as two set cards materialized onto his field. "I have to say Gong, I'm a little disappointed. I was for sure you'd bring your A-game like me and be quite the challenge. But so far, your moves have been mediocre."

Gong sets the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Superheavy Samurai General Cobalt and Scale 9 Superheavy Samurai General Marble!" Gong shouted as two mechanical warriors, one in blue armor, the other in brown armor, rose in blue pillars.

"Two new Pendulum Monsters? All right! Things are starting to get interesting." Sora said

"Gong Pendulum Summons! And brings out Superheavy Samurai Wagon! The Tuner Monster Superheavy Samurai Blades! And Superheavy Samurai Soulmirror!"

Three beams of light erupted from the Pendulum portal, solidifying into the forms of Wagon, a small mechanical Monster clad in amber armor holding two wakizashi blades, and a floating mirror with a mechanical frame sporting several flaming horns.

"And I'm far from finished." Gong announced. "When successfully summoned, Wagon can switch itself to defense mode!" His monster's switched into a defensive stance. "Wagon's second effect activates! Once per turn, it can change itself from defense to attack position and allow Gong to add a "Superheavy Samurai Soul" monster from his deck to his hand!" A card ejected from Gong's deck, "The one I choose is Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit!" Gong exclaimed as the monster flew out of the cart and into his hand.

"Gong now equips Soulfire Suit onto Blades to change its level from 2 to 5." Gong said as Blades became equipped with the fiery armor around his chest.

As Wagon turned into four stars and Blades turned into five stars surrounding them, Gong chanted.

"Unyielding as the mountain ranges! The soul that resides in the great rock, become the towering fortress now! Gong Synchro Summons! Come forth, Level 9! Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi!

Kyubi appeared on Gong's field, swinging its polearm-shaped weapon and creating a miniature fire tornado with it.

"Blade's effect activates, allowing me to draw a card from my Deck since it was used for the Synchro Summon of a "Superheavy Samurai" Monster." Gong stated. In addition, Soulmirror's effect also activates. Since a "Superheavy Samurai Synchro Monster'' was Special Summoned to my field, I can banish this card to Special Summon a random "Superheavy Samurai Synchro Monster'' from my Extra Deck by ignoring its summoning conditions. Now, let's see what fate has in store for us!"

Drawing a random card from his Extra Deck, Gong looked at it briefly before setting it on his Duel Disk.

"The chosen Monster is Superheavy Samurai Emperor Sutoku!"

A mechanical Monster resembling an anthropomorphic bird with an elongated nose and an ornate crown on its head, which held a golden shakujo in its right hand, appeared on Gong's field while sitting cross-legged on the ground.

"Gong Synchro Summoned twice in a single turn, huh?" Iggy commented.

"It looks like he finally decided to go all in." Alexis mentioned.

"Beast Kyubi's effect activates." Gong declared. "This card gains 900 additional DEF for every Special Summoned Monster on your field Sora!"

(Kyubi DEF: 2500→4300).

"Furthermore, Kyubi can attack using its DEF during damage calculation, however it can only target the Monster you control with the highest attack. Battle! Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi, attack and destroy Frightfur Hound! Kurikara Blast!"

Sora jumped up and held out his hand, "Not happening! I'm activating the Trap Card: Suture Aid! This negates an attack targeting my "Frightfur monster!" Sora explained as a barrier formed around Hound protecting him from Kyubi's attack.

"Not only that, but I'm also allowed to add a''Fluffal" or ''Edge Imp" Monster from my grave back to my hand. I return Fluffal Leo to my hand. Sora said as he took Leo from his graveyard and placed it in his hand

"Not bad, but my Battle Phase is not over yet." Gong pointed out. "I activate Cobalt's Pendulum Effect! Thanks to it, once per turn, when a "Superheavy Samurai" Monster declared an attack this turn, I can have it attack once again on this turn's Battle Phase! Attack Frightfur Hound once again, Kyubi! Kurikara Blast!"

Kyubi raised its staff and launched a large sphere of flame from it, enveloping Frightfur Hound and destroying it.

Since you're short one monster, Kyubi now loses 900 DEF! Gong stated as Kyubi's defense decreased.

"Superheavy Samurai Emperor Sutoku, attack Frightfur Eagle! And much like Kyubi, Sutoku can also attack while being in defense mode, while also preventing you from activating cards or effects while doing so! Go, Sutoku! Resentment Scripture!"

Sutoku raised its shakujo high, summoning a torrent of blood-soaked pages that enveloped Eagle and destroyed it, with the ensuing shockwave sending Sora skidding backwards.

"Kyubi's DEF returns to its original amount." Gong said.

(Kyubi DEF: 3400→2500).

"Like I said Sora, Gong and his Steadfast Dueling can face whatever you throw at us head on. Gong ends his turn with this."

"My turn!" Sora announced. "Draw! First up, I activate the Spell Pot of Greed to draw two cards!" Sora exclaimed as he drew two new cards.

"I'll follow that move by activating the Spell, Bubble Burst! Now by destroying a face-up Spell or Trap on my field, like Edge Nightmare, I'm allowed to draw two more cards! Sora shouted as his Spell burst into particles and drew two more cards.

"He must have something planned if he's drawing so many cards." Gong said.

"By discarding Fluffal Crane from my hand, I can activate the Spell A Feather Of A Phoenix which lets me return a card from my graveyard to the top of my deck. The card I choose to return is my Edge Imp Sabres! And with that, the conditions of my combo are complete!" The cyan haired teen declared with a grin.

"What do you mean?" Gong inquired.

"I mean this! I activate the Continuous Trap, Frightfur Jar!" Sora shouted as a deadly vending machine appeared next to Sora with piercing red eyes and dark spheres on the inside.

"Frightfur Jar?" Gong questioned.

"My dueling has evolved since the last time we met, so there's no way I'll lose! Frightfur Jar lets me discard one card to draw a card from my deck! And if it is an "Edge Imp" monster, I can destroy a card on your field!" Sora explained.

"So you basically rigged the game with the use of your Spell?" Gong asked.

Sora nodded. "Yes! I'll discard another copy of Fluffal Wings to draw!" He said as he discarded his card and drew. "As you already know, the card I drew is Edge Imp Sabres! Which means I get to destroy one of your cards! I choose your Beast Kyubi."

A dark sphere popped out of the vendor and shot forward at the Superheavy Samurai, destroying it.

"With the Pendulum Scale already set, I can Pendulum Summon once again! Come to my side, Fluffal Sheep and Edge Imp Sabres!"

"Y'know." said Sora. "They say that three's a crowd, but I think I need a crowd. For that, I'm summoning out my Patchwork Fluffal!"

A teddy bear with stitches all over its body appeared between Sheep and Sabres.

"I then play Fluffal Fusionist's Pendulum ability once again to fuse Sheep, Sabres, and Patchwork on my field." said Sora. "Plus, while Patchwork Fluffal is on the field, he can be treated as a Frightfur Monster."

"What?" Gong shouted.

Sora's Patchwork Fluffal, Fluffal Sheep, and Edge Imp Sabres then began to swirl together as he chanted.

"Edge of sharpness, warrior of wool, and patchwork of fluff. When the three come together, things are sure to get tough! I Fusion Summon! Here's the wild, wicked cat that's all paws, claws, and jaws! Frightfur Sabre-Tooth!"

A violet-colored plush toy tiger with several blades extending from its body appeared on Sora's field.

"Thanks to Cotton Eater's Pendulum Effect, I'm allowed to draw a card since I successfully performed a Fusion Summon." Sora said as he drew a card. "In addition, whenever Sabre-Tooth is Fusion Summoned, its effect allows me to Special Summon a "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from my Graveyard by ignoring its summoning conditions. The Frightfur I choose to bring back is Frightfur Tiger."

Tiger returned once more to Sora's field following his words.

"Frightfur Sabre-Tooth and Tiger's effects now activate! For every Frightfur Monster I control, each gains 400 and 300 ATK points respectively, as well an extra 300 ATK thanks to Cotton Eater's Pendulum ability. So, both gain 1700!"

"Battle! Frightfur Tiger, attack Emperor Sutoku!" Sora commanded as his tiger leaped forward at the mechanical samurai.

"I won't allow that!" Gong stated. "I activate Marble's Pendulum Effect! Once per turn, I can negate the destruction of a "Superheavy Samurai" Monster by battle and reduce any battle damage involving it to 0! Of course, I will shield my Sutoku!"

A semi-transparent barrier appeared around Sutoku following Gong's words, preventing Tiger's attack from reaching it.

"Your defenses are certainly top-notch, Gong." Sora praised him. "But that doesn't mean that they're indestructible. Battle! Frightfur Sabre-Tooth, attack Emperor Sutoku!"

Sabre-Tooth dashed forward following Sora's words and pierced Emperor Sutoku's body with its blades, destroying it.

I now activate the Spell, Frightfur Components! I can only use this card during the Main Phase 2 of a turn where I inflicted no battle damage to my opponent or during my Main Phase 1 by skipping my Battle Phase! Furthermore, I can target a "Frightfur" Fusion Monster with it and then draw cards equal to the number of materials I used for its summoning. I select my Frightfur Sabre-Tooth to draw three cards! I place two cards face-down and end my turn."

"My turn!" Gong announced. "Draw! I activate Sutoku's effect in my Graveyard, banishing it and Kyuu-B, Gong can draw five cards from his Deck. Gong explained as he drew five more cards. "Then, Gong will use my already set Pendulum Scale to Pendulum Summon once again! "Appear! Superheavy Samurai Hexagon and the Tuner Monster, Superheavy Samurai Battleball!

Two beams of light erupted from the Pendulum portal, landing on the field and solidifying into the forms of Hexagon and Battleball.

"Veteran which tempers blades with a loud iron hammer! Appear on the battlefield in a conflagration! Gong Synchro Summons! Take to the field, Level 8! Superheavy Samurai Swordsmith!"

A mechanical Monster clad in blue armor and holding a large hammer appeared on Gong's field, sitting cross-legged.

"When Swordsmith is Special Summoned, its effect activates, allowing me to Special Summon as many "Superheavy Samurai" Monsters as possible from my hand to the field. Come to my side, Superheavy Samurai Scales, Superheavy Samurai Mime and Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei!"

Swordsmith struck his hammer on the ground, creating a fissure out of which the three Superheavy Samurai Monsters emerged on the field.

The mechanical soldier holding a small trumpet appeared once more on Gong's field.

"I tune Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei with Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" As Big Benkei turned into eight stars and Trumpeter turned into two rings surrounding them, Gong chanted once again. "Raging deity, in unison with the roar of a thousand blades, come forth in a spiraling sandstorm! Synchro Summon! Now come before us, Level 10! Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!"

Susanowo appeared on Gong's field next to Swordsmith, sitting cross-legged as well.

"He raised its Level?" Sora blinked. "And Mime is also a Tuner monster." His eyes widened. "Is he-?"

"I now tune the Level 4 Superheavy Samurai Mime with Superheavy Samurai Scales!"

As Scales turned into four stars and Mime turned into four rings surrounding them, Gong chanted for the third time.

"Illustrious monk who has obtained enlightenment! Bring forth salvation to the bloodthirsty souls of the fallen and guide them to nirvana! Gong Synchro Summons! Descend now, Level 8! Superheavy Samurai Monk Rennyo!"

A mechanical Monster clad in viridian armor with eight golden rings floating behind it, which held a golden spear with an oversized tip in its right hand and a lotus flower in its left hand, appeared on Gong's field.

"Three Synchro Summons in a single turn?" Sora narrowed his eyes at the sight of Gong's Monsters. "It looks like you're finally getting serious now…"

"Superheavy Samurai Mime's second effect activates, granting Gong a "Superheavy Token!" Gong explained as a smaller version of Mime appeared on Gong's field in defense mode.

"Gong now activates Swordsmith's other effect, which allows me to destroy a face-down Spell or Trap card once per turn. I will use that effect to destroy your face-down on the left." Gong declared as Swordsmith generated a wave of energy from its hammer, destroying Sora's face-down, revealing it to be Frightfur March.

"Now, let's battle! Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo, attack Frightfur Tiger! And like all my Monsters, Susanowo can attack while being in defense mode! Swinging Sword Slash!" Gong commanded as Susanowo swung its naginata, generating an energy wave that bisected Sora's Monster, destroying it and causing Sora to skid backwards a bit.

"And thanks to Cobalt's Pendulum Effect, Susanowo can execute a second attack! Go, Susanowo! Attack and destroy Frightfur Sabre-Tooth! Swinging Sword Strike!" Gong stated.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but Sabre-Tooth's effect prevents it from being destroyed since I used at least three monsters to summon it." Sora retorted.

"That's why Gong's activating Superheavy Samurai Soulbuster Gauntlet's effect in his hand!" Gong announced as he revealed the card to Sora. When a "Superheavy Samurai" in defense mode battles an opponent's monster and there are no Spell or Traps in Gong's grave, Gong can send this card to the graveyard to double Susanowo's DEF!" A silhouette of a purple mechanical gauntlet with a black metal glove on the end of it appeared on the field momentarily before it became a ball of light that transferred its power over to Susanowo as it charged forward.

"Then I'll activate the Quick-Play Spell De-Fusion! I return Sabre-Tooth back to my Extra Deck to summon back the monsters used to summon it!" Sora shouted as Sabre-Tooth disappeared and taking its place Patchwork Fluffal, Fluffal Sheep and Edge Imp Sabres.

"Next I'll have both Swordsmith and Rennyo attack your two remaining monsters!" Both Swordsmith and Rennyo followed Gong's words as they charged towards Sora's two remaining monsters and destroyed them.

"Now Sora's field is empty and Gong has the advantage." Iggy said.

"At the moment he does, but knowing Sora, he'll figure out a way to turn this around during his turn." Alexis mentioned.

"Gong ends his turn. You're up Sora." Gong said.

"My turn! Draw! I activate the Spell Card: Dark Eruption! This lets me add a Dark-Attribute monster with 1500 or less attack points from my Graveyard to my hand. I'll add Edge Imp Saw back to my hand."

"Is he planning on summoning Saw, so he can use its effect again?" Gong thought.

"I activate Frightfur Jar's effect! I discard the Spell Fusion Substitute to draw! Sora shouted as he drew and smirked at the sight of the card he had drawn. "I drew Edge Imp Scythe! Meaning, I can choose to destroy a card on your field! I think I'll choose…your Warlord Susanowo!"

Another dark sphere shot out of the vendor and shot at Susanowo.

"By sending Superheavy Samurai Signaler to the graveyard, Gong can redirect the target of your trap to a different "Superheavy Samurai" Monster. So instead of Susanowo, Gong's token will be the target of your Jar!" Gong exclaimed as the Superheavy Token moved in front of the dark sphere as it shot through it.

"Quick save there Gong, but I got even more surprises in store for you." Sora retorted. "I activate the effect of Fluffal Wings in my graveyard! By banishing two copies of them, I can draw 2 cards! Then, by releasing Toy Vendor, I can draw once more!" Sora said.

"But Toy Vendor isn't even on your field anymore." Gong mentioned.

"True, but thanks to Frightfur Jar's effect, its name becomes Toy Vendor while on the field." Sora replied.

"No way!" Gong yelled.

"Yes way! Now I will release Frightfur Jar to draw a total of three cards!" Sora shouted as he drew.

"3 consecutive draws…" Gong whispered.

"And when Frightfur Jar leaves the field, one of your monsters loses half their ATK, but since your monsters are in defense I won't use the effect, so instead I'll activate the Trap, Fusion Reserve!" Sora declared as he activated his trap. "With this card, I can add a fusion material monster from my deck to my hand, and recover "Polymerization" from my graveyard."

"So basically, you're trying to get more monsters, so you can perform multiple Fusion Summons this turn?" Gong asked.

"Bingo!" Sora replied as he scrolled through his cards on his disk's screen. He tapped on the image of a card and the card popped out of his deck. "I'll add my third and final copy of Fluffal Wings along with Polymerization to my hand!"

"Any ideas of what Sora might be planning?" Iggy asked Alexis.

"The only thing I can think of is that he's planning to bring a monster or monsters to make this duel tougher for Gong than it already is." She replied.

"I now summon out my Fluffal Octopus!' A pink plush octopus with angel wings appeared on Sora's field.

"I use Octopus's effect to return Edge Imp Tomahawk to my hand." Sora said as he took Edge Imp Tomahawk from his graveyard and placed it in his hand. "With this, my plan is all set and ready to be put into motion."

"What do you mean?" Gong asked.

"I mean this!" Sora replied. "With my Pendulum Scale already set, I can Pendulum Summon once again! Appear! Fluffal Leo, Edge Imp Saw, and Edge Imp Tomahawk!"

Several blades shot out of Edge Imp Tomahawk following Sora's words, striking Gong and causing him to cry out in pain.

Then, I activate Fluffal Fusionist's Pendulum Effect, to fuse both Edge Imp Tomahawk and Fluffal Octopus!"

As his two Monsters swirled inside a multi-colored vortex, Sora chanted.

"Blades of steel and monster of the deep! When you two come together, your heart will skip a beat! I Fusion Summon! Frightfur Kraken!"

A Monster resembling an oversized plush toy octopus with blades attached to its limbs appeared on Sora's field next to his other two Monsters.

Kraken's effect activates! Once per turn, I can get rid of one of your monsters and send it to the graveyard! I will target your Warlord Susanowo!" Sora yelled, his Kraken strangling the mechanical samurai with its clawed tentacles.

"Susanowo!" Gong yelled.

"That's not all. Since Kraken was successfully Fusion Summoned, Cotton Eater's effect lets me draw a card and grant Kraken 300 extra ATK!" Sora declared as he drew and Kraken's power increased.

Frightfur Kraken (ATK:2200→2500/DEF:3000/LV:8)

"I now activate the effect of Edge Imp Scythe (/ATK:1000/DEF:0/LV:3) in my hand, which allows me to perform a Fusion Summon by using it and Monsters from my hand or field as materials."

"Seriously!?" Gong asked in shock.

"Yes seriously!" Sora answered. "I'll use Edge Imp Scythe and Fluffal Dolphin (ATK:1600/DEF:1000/LV:4) that are in my hand as materials in order to Fusion Summon!"

As his two Monsters swirled inside a multi-colored vortex, Sora chanted.

"Sickle of doom and beast of the seas! When the two come together, you'll fall to your knees! I Fusion Summon! Frightfur Cruel Whale!"

A demonic-looking plush toy resembling a whale with blades extending from its underbelly, fin, and mouth appeared on Sora's field.

Cruel Whale's effect activates. When this card is Fusion Summoned successfully, I can target a card on my field and a card on my opponent's field, and then I can destroy both cards. The ones I choose are Fluffal Fusionist and your Monk Rennyo!"

Following Sora's words, Cruel Whale opened its mouth wide, sucking the aforementioned cards in and shredding them to pieces with its blades.

"Not Rennyo too!" Gong said in a worried tone.

"Furthermore, by banishing Fusion Substitute from my graveyard and returning Frightfur Leo to my Extra Deck, I get to draw a card." Sora then slipped Frightfur Leo back into his Extra Deck before drawing his new card and smiling after seeing what he'd drawn." Alright! Just the card I wanted. I activate the Spell, Fusion Tag! By targeting a monster I control, I can send a Fusion monster from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard, and have the targeted monster be treated as the sent monster until the End Phase!"

"Eh?" Gong said, confused.

"I send Frightfur Leo from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard, to have Fluffal be treated as it!" A tag fell around the first Leo's neck, transforming it into its Frightfur form. "Now I activate Polymerization to fuse both Edge Imp Saw on my field along with Fluffal Wings in my hand with Fluffal Leo who is now treated as Frightfur Leo!" The three monsters fused as a red, blue and yellow swirl as Sora chanted.

"Sharpened steel, ruler of the jungle, and wings of the air. When the three come together, prepare for a scare! I Fusion Summon! Flying king of beast that rips everything to shreds! Frightfur Manticore!

Sora yelled as an upgraded version of Frightfur Leo appeared with sharp blades, wings and a bladed tail.

"Three Fusions in a single turn." Gong said in amazement after seeing the Fusions on Sora's field.

"Impressive. Sora mimicked what Gong did on his turn and performed multiple Fusion Summons." Iggy said.

"Looks like Sora's pulling out all the stops now against Gong." Alexis added.

"I activate Frightfur Parts, which lets me draw a card for every "Frightfur" Monster on my field, and since I have at least three, I get to draw an extra card! So, I get to draw four! Now, let's battle! Frightfur Kraken, attack Superheavy Samurai Swordsmith! Depth Gouge!"

Kraken unleashed its bladed tentacles directly at the mechanical blacksmith.

"I won't allow that!" Gong stated. "I activate Cobalt's Pendulum Effect to shield my Swordsmith!"

A semi-transparent barrier appeared around Swordsmith following Gong's words, preventing Kraken's attack from reaching it.

"Well, unfortunately for you, Kraken can attack twice in a single turn." Sora stated.

"Curses!" Gong said in anger.

"Once again, Kraken attacks your Swordsmith! Depth Gouge!" Sora declared/

Kraken struck the mechanical samurai with the blades attached to its tentacles, slicing it in half and destroying it.

"Now Gong's field is empty once again." Iggy noted.

"One direct attack from either one of Sora's other monsters and this duel's done." Alexis added.

"You did well Gong, and I have to say that this has been a lot of fun, but like they say, "all good things must come to an end." Starting now! Frightfur Cruel Whale, attack Gong directly! Aqua Edge Strike!" Sora commanded. His monster surrounded itself with water as it flew through the air and straight towards Gong."

"Well, unfortunately for you Sora, Gong still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Like this! I banish Superheavy Samurai Shaman's from my graveyard to activate its effect!" Gong announced. When you attack Gong directly when they're no Spell or Traps in Gong's grave, Gong can banish Shaman to summon all "Superheavy Samurai" Monsters that were destroyed this turn! Return, Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo, Monk Rennyo, and Swordsmith!"

The spirit of shaman appeared on Gong's field who then created a portal, resurrecting all the previously destroyed Superheavy Samurais.

"I may not be able to deplete the rest of your life points, but I'll be happy to destroy your samurais a second time." Sora stated. "Battle!" Sora exclaimed. "Cruel Whale, take down Warlord Susanowo! Aqua Edge Strike!" Sora commanded. His monster surrounded itself with water as it flew through the air.

"At this moment, I activate Whale's other effect! "During either player's turn, I can target a Fusion Monster I control and send a "Frightfur" card from my Deck or Extra Deck to the Graveyard to increase that Monster's attack by half of its original till the End Phase! I'll send Frightfur Sheep from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard to increase Whale's attack!

"Now its attack is stronger than Susanowo's defense." Gong mentioned.

"Exactly!" Continue forth, Cruel Whale! Sora commanded as Cruel Whale's blades slashed through Susanowo.

"Next, Manticore will attack your Swordsmith!" Sora exclaimed. At this moment, I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Frightfur Hunting which not only gives Manticore 500 extra attack points, but also grants it the ability to deal damage even when your monster is in defense mode." Sora shouted as his monster powered up.

"Razor Sky Slash!" Sora commanded as his monster flew through the air and towards Swordsmith.

"I activate the effect of Superheavy Samurai Iron Wall in my hand, sending it to the Graveyard to halve the damage and draw one card from my Deck!" Gong shouted.

Manticore pierced through Swordsmith, creating a shockwave that caused Gong to grunt in pain. However, he dug his feet into the ground and didn't budge an inch as he drew his card.

Manticore's effect activates! When it deals damage, it can attack again! Go, Frightfur Manticore! Attack Monk Rennyo! Razor Sky Slash!" Sora yelled as the monster flew to Rennyo and slashed it in half.

"You're so persistent Gong!" Sora pouted in annoyance before continuing. I place three cards face-down and end my turn. At this moment, Cruel Whale and Frightfur Hunting effects end." Sora concluded.

"My turn! Draw! "In that case, it's my turn!" Gong announced. "Draw! I summon Superheavy Samurai Infantry!

A small, mechanical soldier holding an arquebus appeared on Gong's field.

"I activate Infantry's effect." Gong stated. "Since there aren't any Spell or Trap Cards in Gong's Graveyard, Gong can tribute this Infantry to banish up to five "Superheavy Samurai" Monsters from his Graveyard and draw an equal number of cards from my Deck. I banish two Magnets, Soulhorns, Hexagon and Mime to draw five cards."

Upon checking out his drawn cards, Gong smirked.

"It looks like the goddess of victory has blessed me with a winning hand. Using my already set Pendulum Scale, I will Pendulum Summon once more! Appear! Superheavy Samurai Big Waraji, Superheavy Samurai Transporter and the Tuner Monster Superheavy Samurai Fist!"

"Steadfast oni gods, grasp tightly on my fist's resolve, now, become the fiend of iron and run across the battlefield! Gong Synchro Summons!''

The circle and stars glow into a green light as something emerges from it.

''Now come before us! Appear! Level 12! Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King!" A large red trains runs forward with the front having a large red oni-like face with bright yellow horns and less bright yellow sharp teeth and beard, black steam blowing out and a Japanese-like cargo on its back.

Sora looked at the Superheavy Synchro Monster. "So you've finally brought out your ace, huh? Too bad it won't stay out too long. I activate my Trap Card, Fusion Fright Waltz!" Sora shouted. "Through its effect, I can target two Fusion Monsters on the field, and then I can destroy as many Special Summoned Monsters on the field as possible except Fusion Monsters, with an attack equal or lower than the total of both Monsters' attack! In addition, I can inflict damage to the destroyed Monsters' controllers equal to the total attack of the targeted Monsters! I target Frightfur Kraken and Cruel Whale, meaning your Train King "leaves the station", or in this case, the field!"

"Hold on a moment! Since Gong controls a "Superheavy Samurai" monster and has no Spell or Traps in his graveyard, and you activated a card or effect responding to either a "Superheavy Samurai" Monster's attack or effect, by sending Superheavy Samurai Jammer to the grave, Gong can negate the activation of a Spell/Trap!" Gong shouted as a fiery aura consumed Sora's trap and burst into particles.

"Tch, so you managed to counter that…" Sora clicked his tongue in irritation.

"Next, I activate Steam Train King's effect! I can discard up to two cards, and destroy that many cards you control. I discard my Superheavy Samurai Flutist and Soulbreaker Armor to destroy your Frightfur Kraken and Cruel Whale!"

"Well before that happens, I activate Cruel Whale's effect to send Frightfur Wolf from my Extra Deck to the graveyard to have Manticore gain 1400 ATK!" Sora yelled as the spirit of Wolf appeared in front of Manticore. The aerial lion then sliced up the spirit and devoured it.

A huge energy blast fired from Steam Train King's mouth, destroying Sora's Fusion monsters.

''Battle! Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King, attack Frightfur Manticore!' Last Track Rush!" Gong declared as his train charged right at Manticore, striking right through it, creating an explosion that destroyed it and caused Sora to skid backwards.

Sora LP: 1100→800

"I activate Cobalt's Pendulum Effect, to have Steam Train King attack once again! Superheavy Steam Train King, attack Sora directly and end this duel! Last Track Rush!" Gong declared.

Steam Train King once again rushed towards Sora, prepared to strike him down.

"'This duel ain't over till I say so!" Sora retorted. I activate the Trap Card Frightfur Manufacture!" When you attack me directly the same turn you destroy a "Fluffal", "Edge Imp", or "Frightfur" Monster, not only does this card negate your attack, but allows me to perform a Fusion Summon by banishing those destroyed monsters."

Gong looked shocked after hearing Sora, "What?"

"I banish my Frightfur Kraken, Cruel Whale, and Manticore to Fusion Summon!" As his three Monsters swirled inside a multi-colored vortex, Sora chanted.

"Monster of the deep, ruler of the seas and creature of both land and sky! When the three come together, victory is mine! I Fusion Summon! Come on out, my mighty mashup! Frightfur Chimera!"

A large monster appeared on the field that consisted of three heads attached to four anvil-like shoes by using springs piercing right through the heads. The first head resembled Fluffal Bear except it didn't have wings and yellow horns were sticking out of its head. The second one looked like an orange stuffed cat with a wrench, claws, and other stuff piercing from its head. Finally, the third head was brown that looked like a sock puppet with two box-ended wrenches sticking out of its head and had fangs as teeth. Mad Chimera took a large step and created a crater in the ground as all three heads laughed maniacally.

Frightfur Chimera (ATK: 2800, DEF: 2000, LV: 8)

"Through Cotton Eater's Pendulum Effect, I can draw one card and Chimera gains 300 ATK." Sora stated.

"You may have summoned another Fusion Monster, but that doesn't mean you're safe." Gong stated. I activate Train King's other effect to remove from play all Spells and Traps cards in our graveyards, and deal you 200 points of damage for each one."

"How many Spells and Traps are in the graveyard?" A student asked.

"There are 22 cards in total, so Sora's going to be taking 4400 points of damage." Chazz answered.

"How do you know that Princeton?" Iggy asked.

"I've been keeping count just in case Gong summoned that monster." Chazz replied.

"I have to say Chazz, I'm very impressed." Alexis said, causing Chazz to blush a little.

A cannon came out of the mouth of the oni face on the train, and fired a burst of flame directly at Sora.

"I activate the Continuous Trap, Fusion Fortress! As long as I control a Fusion monster, I take no effect damage!" Sora countered as a green barrier protected him from Train King's blast.

"Tch, looks like you countered my move as well." Gong looked at Sora neutrally, "I end my turn."

Now, my turn! Draw!" Sora shouted.

Upon checking on what he drew, a smile formed on Sora's face.

"I activate Spell, Fusion Trade! Now by returning up to three "Fusion" Spells in my graveyard or banish zone to my deck, I get to draw that same number of cards! I return Polymerization, Fusion Conscription, and Fusion Tag back to my deck to draw three cards! Next I activate the Equip Spells, Frightfur Cursed Edge and Fusion Baton and equip them both to Chimera!" Sora explained as a dark aura formed Chimera.

"Fusion Baton increases Chimera's ATK by 600 for every Fusion Monster in my grave. I have a total of 7 Fusion Monsters in my grave, so Chimera gains 4200 ATK!

(ATK: 3100→7300/DEF: 2000/LV: 8)

"As for Cursed Edge's effect, well, you'll see in a minute." Sora said. "Battle! Frightfur Chimera, attack and destroy Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King! Chimeric Barrage!" Chimera launched a missile from one of its misshapen heads that flew straight towards Gong's Train King.

"Gong uses Marble's Pendulum ability to save my Steam Train King from destruction!" Gong exclaimed as a semi-transparent barrier appeared around Steam Train King.

"You don't think I wasn't prepared for that?" Sora rhetorically asked. "Thanks to Cursed Edge's effect, Chimera can attack a second time!" Sora pointed out. "Go, Frightfur Chimera! Attack Steam Train King! Chimeric Barrage!"

Chimera launched a missile from one of its heads, striking Train King with it and destroying it.

"At this moment, Chimera's effect activates." Sora declared. "When it destroys an opponent's Monster by battle, I can Special Summon that Monster on my field and have Chimera gain 300 ATK for every such Monster. Revive, Superheavy Samurai Train King (DEF: 4800) in defense mode!"

One of Chimera's heads extended forward following Sora's words, sinking into the ground and pulling out Steam Train King, which it then deposited on Sora's field.

Frightfur Chimera (ATK: 7300→7600)

"Now your monster has become mine!" He closed his eyes, `"You've shown much skill during this duel Gong, but I'm afraid to put an end to this." Sora said before opening his eyes. "I'll at least give you the honor of losing to your very own monster. Any last words before I do so?" Sora asked

Gong just stood there without replying.

"Guess not." Sora said with a disappointed tone before creating a serious look on his face. "Let's end this!" Sora pointed at Gong. "Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King, attack him directly!"

Following Sora's words, Steam Train King proceeded to charged towards Gong ready to strike and finish him off.

"Unfortunately for you, it won't end just yet!" Gong shouted. "When you attack Gong directly, Gong can summon Superheavy Samurai Balancer from his hand in attack mode!"

Following Gong's words, A small blue and white robot appeared with yellow scales in his right arm.

Superheavy Samurai Balancer ATK: 0 DEF: 0 LVL 1

"Even if you brought out a monster, if you aren't able to defend yourself with it, then summoning it isn't worth it. Continue your attack, Steam Train King!" Sora commanded.

That's why Gong's using Balancer's other effect." Gong pointed out. "When you attack Balancer, it can banish itself to end the battle phase!"

"What?" Sora shouted as Balancer exploded, and the battle phase ended, causing Sora to be annoyed

"He survived… for this turn." thought Alexis.

"Balancer has one more effect, if after using its effect, if I control no Spells or Traps in my graveyard, I can draw one card."

"Stubborn like always, huh?" Sora let out a lopsided smile. "Well, you wouldn't have gotten too far if you weren't like that, my dear friend. But in the end, I'm the one who'll draw the curtain on this show. I activate Train King's effect to banish Fusion Trade to deal you 200 points of damage!"

A cannon came out of the mouth of the oni face on the train, and fired a burst of flame at Gong.

"I place one card face-down and end my turn." Sora concluded with a smirk. "This is your last chance Gong. If you aren't able to make a comeback during your turn, then come my turn I can end this duel with either one of my monsters. So, you better hope you draw a good card or else this will end in my victory and in your loss, and you can kiss learning Fusion Summoning Goodbye.

"That's why with my pride as a duelist, I'll put everything I've got on the line on my next turn and accept whatever happens afterwards, whether it's victory or defeat."

"I thought you might respond in such a manner." Sora said with a hint of admiration in his voice. "Very well, Gong. If you still believe that you have a chance for victory, then go ahead and show me how you intend to overcome this desperate situation."

"Like I said before, no matter what sort of wall stands in my way, Gong will tear it down with his Heavystrong Style, so he may surpass his limits." Gong declared. "The time has come for my Heavystrong Dueling to move towards a new direction and evolve! My turn! Draw!" Draw!" Gong drew his card with so much force, creating a strong gust of wind.

Sora suddenly raised his right arm. "Before you draw your card, I activate the Continuous Trap, Fusion Trench! So long as this card is on the field, only Fusion Monsters can declare an attack. In addition, if the controller of a Fusion Monster didn't Normal Summon or Special Summon a non-Fusion Monster, one of their Fusion Monsters can attack directly!"

Upon checking his drawn card, a smile formed on Gong's face. "Looks like I've drawn the card that'll be the key to my victory." Gong said.

"Well Gong, please don't keep me and everyone else waiting." Sora pointed out.

"Oh I won't!" Gong replied as he took the card he drew and held it up before revealing it to Sora. "First Gong equips Superheavy Samurai Soultalisman onto Steam Train King!"

This time, a beaded necklace appeared around the head of the Steam Train King. Just below the monster's chin was a green skull-shaped jewel; though the right eye socket was empty, the left had a needle valve jammed inside.

"How can you equip it onto Steam Train King when he's not even on your field?" Sora asked.

"Soultalisman can equip itself to a "Superheavy Samurai" Monster regardless of whose field it's on." Gong mentioned. Moving on from that, I activate Soultalisman's effect to tribute Steam Train King!"

The necklace tightened its grip on the train. The head shattered, and the body soon followed. The necklace itself clustered together, melting into a shapeless blob of cyan light.

"By doing so, Gong can summon two "Superheavy Samurai" Monsters from his graveyard whose levels are equal or less than the tributed monster. Gong explained. Return! Superheavy Samurai Flutist and Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei!"

The blob started to expand outwards. It took the shape of two monsters, Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei (DEF 2800), and Flutist (DEF 1000).

"And with Train King, no longer on your field, Chimera loses 300 ATK." Gong pointed out.

Frightfur Chimera (ATK: 7600→7300/DEF: 2000/LV: 8)

"I'm not finished!" Gong declared. "By reducing Big Benkei's level by 1, Gong can bring back Superheavy Samurai Fist from his graveyard!" Gong shouted as a yellow and orange machine samurai appeared between his other two monsters.

Superheavy Samurai Fist ATK 900 DEF 900 LVL: 2

"If I recall, Fist is a Tuner Monster. So, he can either bring a Level 5, 10, or 12 Synchro Monster. Both Susanowo and Train King are in his graveyard, so the only monster he could summon is Musashi and even with its effect to return a monster, it still wouldn't help him win this turn." Sora thought to himself.

"It's time for Gong to show you how serious he is about winning this duel and learning Fusion Summoning!" Gong exclaimed. "I tune Superheavy Samurai Fist with Superheavy Samurai Flutist and Big Benkei!" Fist turned into two green rings that encircled the other two monsters, who turned into ten stars. Light surged through the rings as Gong chanted.

"Formed by the particles of many fallen warriors, come forth and acquire the strength needed to soar to greater heights! Gong Synchro Summons! Now come before us, Level 12! Superheavy Samurai Phoenix Fenghuang!"

A colossal metallic majesty, clad in a burning aura surrounding its frame. A combination of humanoid and avian features, it carries a searing naginata in its talons.

Superheavy Samurai Phoenix Fenghuang ATK 2000 DEF 4500 LVL: 12

"Another Level 12 Synchro Monster?" Iggy said surprised.

"Looks like Gong came up with something unexpected just like we told him." Alexis said.

"I have to honestly say Gong that I'm impressed. I thought Steam Train King was your only Level 12 Synchro Monster, and whatever Synchro Monster you'd bring out using those three monsters wasn't going to help you at all." Sora pointed out. "But you'd pulled a rabbit out of a hat and made this unexpected and surprising move!"

"Thanks Sora! But let's get back to serious matters." Gong stated. "When Fenghuang is successfully summoned, I can destroy either all your Monsters or all your Spells/Traps, and I'll choose the second option. Go, Fenghuang! Solar Eraser!"

Phoenix Fenghuang spread its wings as a giant wave of flames flew out from them directly towards Sora's field.

"Sorry Gong, but I won't allow that!" Sora exclaimed. "By sending Patchwork Dummy to the graveyard, all cards with "Fluffal", "Edge Imp", or "Frightfur in their name are safe from being destroyed by your Phoenix's effect!"

Sora discarded the monster from his hand as its spirit then appeared in front of his cards and shielded them from destruction except for Fusion Trench and Baton.

"You may have saved some of your cards, but without Fusion Baton your Chimera's attack returns to 3100 and with Fusion Trench no longer out, Gong is free to attack." Gong pointed out.

Frightfur Chimera (ATK: 7300→3100/DEF: 2000/LV: 8)

"Battle!" Gong exclaimed. "Phoenix Fenghuang, attack and destroy Frightfur Chimera! Sacred Fire!"

At Gong's command, Fenghuang charged up a ball of gold-rose-colored flame from its beak at and then released straight at Sora's Chimera.

"I activate Cursed Edge's other effect!" Sora bellowed. "When the equipped Monster is attacked, I can send this card to the graveyard to prevent its destruction and reduce the battle damage to 0! Then, my Monster gains attack equal to half the attack of the attacking Monster!"

Following Sora's words, Fenghuang's energy blast was blocked by a barrier made of twisted blades that prevented it from reaching Chimera.

"But thanks to Cobalt, Fenghuang can attack again! One more time, Fenghuang! Sacred Fire!" Gong shouted as Phoenix let out a stream of gold-rose energy at Chimera and destroyed it, causing an explosion that blew Sora back.

"Phoenix Fenghuang's effect activates! When this card destroys a monster, it can inflict damage to my opponent equal to the destroyed monster's DEF! Burning Fire Strike! Gong yelled as Phoenix's body burned up even more as it spun and flew straight towards Sora.

"When I would 2000 or more points of damage, I can banish Fusion Baton to reduce the damage by 600 for every Fusion Monster in my grave, in this case 8, so the damage reduces by 4800!"

"Looks like Gong couldn't finish this duel this turn, but that doesn't mean it's over. I equip Superheavy Samurai Soulheaven Shield onto Phoenix Fenghuang!" Gong declared as a blue and yellow shield attached to Fenghuang.

"That's it for Gong." Gong said, concluding his turn.

"My turn!" Sora announced. "Draw! First, I activate the Spell Card Frightfur Recycling, whose effect allows me to draw a card from my Deck for every "Frightfur" Monster that was destroyed during my previous turn, plus an additional card since I control no monsters when activated. So, I draw two cards, but in exchange, I cannot Normal Summon or Set Monsters during this turn. Next, I activate Frightfur Fusion, and use it to banish Edge Imp Frightfurloid, Patchwork Fluffal, and Fluffal Bear to Fusion Summon my newest weapon of destruction!"

"Huh?!" Gong said, confused.

As his three Monsters swirled inside a multi-colored vortex, Sora chanted.

"Stuffing of pain, Patchwork of fluff, and Fury of bear. When this doll comes your way, you're sure to be scared! I Fusion summon! Dangerous Frightfur Nightmary!"

Sora roared as a new and extremely tweeting Fusion appeared. It was a large possessed doll-like monster with long golden hair and a white outfit. The monster's skin was green, and its face looked horrifying.

Dangerous Death-Toy Nightmary (2000/3000) LVL:10

"W-What is that thing?!" Gong shouted in a horrified tone.

"It's the being of mass chaos that will end you! Thanks to my Cotton Eater's Pendulum Effect, I get to draw a card and Nightmary gains 300 extra ATK!" Sora exclaimed.

Dangerous Death-Toy Nightmary (ATK: 2000→2300/DEF: 3000/LV: 10)

Dangerous Death-Toy Nightmary's effect activates! During my turn, it gains 300 ATK for every Fiend-type or Fairy-type monster on my field! There are 28…SO NIGHTMARY GAINS 8700 ATK!" Sora yelled. The spirits of his Frightfurs, Fluffals, and Edge Imps appeared around the monster as it powered up.

Nightmary (2000/3000)-(10,700/3000)

"It has over 10,000 ATK?!" Iggy shouted in horror.

"That monster's going to be hard to beat now." Alexis mentioned.

"Even if you increase its attack points, Fenghuang is in defense mode and thanks to Soulheaven Shield and Marble, it'll be harder to defeat Gong." Gong retorted.

"Well see." Sora stated "I activate the Spell Aria from Beyond to take on the effect of my banished Frightfur Hunting to give Nightmary 500 more ATK, plus the ability to deal piercing damage! Frightfur Nightmary attacks Phoenix Fenghuang! Ghoulish Chaos Screech!"

Sora yelled as Nightmary opened its mouth, letting out a horrifying screech, forming a sound destructive sound wave.

Cobalt's effect activates! Fenghuang is safe from destruction and any damage reduces to zero!" Gong stated.

"That won't happen!" Sora shouted. "Nightmary's effect activates! When it's targeted by my opponent's card effect, I can banish a "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck, in this case Frightfur Bear, to negate that effect! As such, my attack resumes and Phoenix is destroyed!"

"Then I'll use Soulheaven Shield's effect to shield from taking any damage!" Gong shouted as a blue barrier shielded him from damage."

"I now activate Phoenix Fenghuang's effect! When it's destroyed, Gong banishes Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King from his graveyard to bring back Fenghuang and give it half of the banished Monster's defense points! Rise from the ashes, Phoenix Fenghuang!"

A crack opened up on the ground as a wave of flames emerged from it and coming out of them was Phoenix Fenghuang.

"It makes no difference!" Sora pointed out. "By banishing Patchwork Dummy from my graveyard, since Nightmary failed to deal you damage it can attack again, and with Frightfur Hunting's effect still in play, you'll still lose. Finish this off Nightmary! Ghoulish Chaos Screech!"

Sora yelled as Nightmary opened its mouth, letting out another terrifying screech, forming a second destructive sound wave.

"Gong was hoping you'd do that." Gong said. "Gong is activating the Soulbreaker Armor from the graveyard!"

"From the graveyard?" Sora asked as he looked closely at the card that was being sent from Gong's graveyard. "Is that what I think it is?"

"That's right, it's the same monster Gong sent to his graveyard to use Train King's ability." Gong answered. "By banishing this card from the graveyard and when Gong doesn't have any Spells or Traps in his graveyard you lose life points to the change of Benkei's DEF."

"Gong's monster had 4500 defense points before." Chazz said. "Now its defense points are 6900." Iggy added. "That's 2400 points of damage and that means…" Alexis began to say. "Gong is victorious!" She said along with Chazz and Iggy.

"You got that right!" Gong stated. "Go Soulbreaker Armor! Finish him off!" Gong shouted as his Samurai armor unleashed four fire orbs at Sora causing a massive explosion on his field.

"Is it over? Did Gong win?" Iggy asked while both Alexis and Chazz kept quiet as they stared at the field waiting for the result.

The smoke then clears as Gong looked over to Sora's field and saw a card active on the field. It showed the ghost of a female angel inside a bright room. He also saw the ghosts of Edge Imp Sabres and Fluffal Wings standing in front of Sora, absorbing the four flaming orbs.

"Is that…?"

"Why yes Gong, it's the Spell Card, Residual Reflection." Sora replied. "And thanks to its effect, it allows me to negate all damage I would take for the rest of the turn just by banishing two monsters."

"Meaning that you could survive Soulbreaker Armor's effect!" Gong pointed out.

"Exactly!" Sora replied. "And don't forget that Nightmary can still attack."

"This can't be!" Gong said in fear.

"Oh but it is." Sorry to do this to you, Gong, but you have to remember that this is a Duel, and when it comes to dueling with something on the line, you have to give everything you got in it!" Dangerous Frightfur Nightmary, attack Phoenix Fenghuang and finish Gong off!" Sora shouted as Nightmary prepared its attack.

Chaotic Nightmare Blast!" Sora yelled as the spirits around Nightmary spirits combined into a shining orb of dark energy. The orb fired a black and purple blast of dark energy at the blazing phoenix, destroying it. Immediately afterwards, the blast enveloped Gong and sent him flying backwards, before crashing into the ground.

"And it's over! The winner of this long and exciting duel is Sora Perse!" The announcer commented." As per their agreement, Gong sadly won't be taught Fusion Summoning from Sora or anyone in the Fusion Dimension!"

"I feel bad for him," Iggy said.

"Me too. He worked so hard." Alexis added.

"I hate to say it, but there were times when I was secretly rooting for him." Chazz admitted which made Iggy and Alexis to look at him as he blushed with embarrassment."

Back at the field, Gong stood back up, until he was then approached by Sora.

"That was a great Duel, Gong." Sora said.

"Even though it was, I still lost, which means Gong can't learn Fusion Summoning to become stronger and help Yuya and Zuzu." Gong pointed out.

"Actually, there's been a slight change in our agreement." Sora said, confusing Gong.

"What do you mean, a slight change?" Gong asked.

"Well, throughout our duel, you've pulled off some astonishing and surprising moves that really caught me off guard. Especially with that last maneuver where you tried to use the strategy against Kit Blade to win the duel. That reminded me of the wonders and hidden strength that your deck contains, which convinced me that it can push itself even further a lot more." Sora replied.

"Are you saying you're going to teach Gong Fusion Summoning?" Gong asked.

"Of course I am!" Sora stated.

"Alright! Gong excitedly shouted.

"You heard it right here folks! Even after losing the duel, Sora has changed his mind and decided to teach Gong our famous summoning method!" The announcer mentioned which caused everyone to cheer in response.

Iggy, Chazz, and Alexis then walked up to Gong and Sora.

"Congratulations, Gong!" Iggy exclaimed.

"I'm so proud of you!" Alexis added.

"You did okay, I guess." Chazz said.

"Thanks everyone! And Sora I promise not to fall or lack in my training." Gong said to Sora as he held his hand out.

"I know you won't because I can expect great things from you." Sora replied as he then held out his hand and shook Gongs with a smile on both their faces.
