Last time in Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-VRAINS The Circuit of Smiles, Yuya and Zuzu interacted with their Link Counterparts during a class assignment and got to know them a bit, as well as helping them run Kolter's business while he's out on vacation with his brother. Later that day, they noticed a post on the LINK VRAINS messageboards of an Arbiter's member challenging Ringmaster to a duel. Feeling that this might be a trap, they agreed to the duel.

After arriving, Yuya met Specter, who disguised himself as an Arbiter member to lure him out and claimed to be his fan. Specter gave him a hard time, but thanks to the power of his counterparts and Odd-Eyes Cylancer, he managed to win.

At Den City's Waterfront…

Gore was currently lifting weights in his warehouse nears the docks. Even though he looked okay, something was bothering him. Suddenly, Gore's manager approached him.

"Good evening," The manager said as he bowed.

"What is it? I'm kind of busy at the moment," Gore stated.

"I can see that, sir, but the owner, as well as the kids, have been wondering where you've been. They're really worried," The manager mentioned.

"I'm sorry to hear that, but I've just had a lot on my mind lately," Gore replied.

"This wouldn't have to with Ringmaster, does it?" His manager asked, causing Gore to stop lifting.

"So it does."

Gore then sat his weights before getting up. "Okay, yes. It has to do with Ringmaster," Gore admitted.

"I see. I assume it's about Ringmaster introducing a new summoning technique known as Pendulum?"

"You're correct, Gore added. "When I first saw him use it in his duel against Seraph, how could I not be astounded by something so marvelous and spectacular? It was like the day when first met Playmaker and saw him duel."

"And you're afraid that he'll be the new duelist in LINK VRAINS everybody looks up to, and you'll be yesterday's news like back then?"

"Exactly," Gore said. "I'm trying my hardest to let my feelings control me, but it's difficult.

"I understand, Mr. Gore. But you have to remember that even if a new duelist in LINK VRAINS appears or you even lose a duel, there are still people who'll always look up to you no matter what."

"You're right. Tell the owner that I'll visit the orphanage tomorrow, and I'll be bringing gifts as well."

"Is there anything else you would like me to mention to her?"

"I'll ask Skye, a.k.a Blue Maiden, to see if some of her school friends would like to come and hang with the children after school. So you can also tell the owner I'll bring some helpers as well.

"Understood, Mr. Gore. I'll get on it right away," Gore's manager said before he left the warehouse.

Go went back to working out and then said, "I hate to admit, but he's right. If I let this whole Ringmaster along with the memory of Playmaker get the best of me, it'' hinder me, and I can't let that happen."

At Kolter's apartment….

Yuya yawned as he walked out of his room in his pajamas and headed for the kitchen. After having an intense duel against Specter last night, he thought he wouldn't be able to sleep hard for him to sleep at first, but he had managed to get a full night's rest.

But not too much, or he would miss breakfast. Passing through the living room, Yuya looked out the windows at the ocean. The view was spectacular in the day and even more so at night. Zuu was impressed at first by the view but gotten over it after a while. Entering the kitchen,

"Good, you're up." Yuya looked from the plates to see Zuzu, already dressed for school, and finishing preparing breakfast for the both of them. "I was a bit worried that you weren't going to wake up after the rough night you had last night."

Yuya nodded as he took a bagel and grabbed the cream cheese. "No kidding. That Specter guy sure was tough. Even tougher than those Arbiter guys."

He sat down at the table as Zuzu placed down two plates with pancakes, eggs, and bacon as she sat down at the table. There were blueberries and pancakes inside the pancakes.

"I know what you mean," Zuzu said, "The way that guy was able to counter your moves and was able to bounce back with an even stronger strategy. You think this guy could be the leader of the Arbiters or even a second in command?"

Yuya shooked his head. "Not likely," Yuya replied. One reason is that there's no way the leader or even the second command would come at us that early. And second, he didn't even use the same deck the guy I faced back in Paradise City."

"Now that you mention it, you're right," Zuzu realized. "He didn't even perform a Link Summon even we had the monsters to do so.

"Exactly. Meaning that Specter isn't one of them or that he was going easy on me. And something tells me it's the second one."

"What makes you say that?" Zuzu asked.

"I'm not sure, but I feel like that somebody else other than the Arbiters has seen my duel against Specter during the tournament and has gained an interest in me because of my Pendulum Summon and sent Specter."

"So that way he could gather data on you so that when he or she decides to come out, they've already come up with a strategy to defeat you."

"Bingo!"

"Well, guess we better lay low and not visit LINK VRAINS for a while."

"Agreed. It'll also help if I don't summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon either."

"How come?"

"Because if they're able to create a cage that prevents me from logging out of LINK VRAINS, then they're good enough to track me down as well."

"That's a good point. Guess it's safer if you don't summon Dark Rebellion outside of LINK VRAINS also."

"No doubt. So what's the plan for us to deal with this new possible threat?"

"I'm glad you asked because I had something planned just in case you asked," Zuzu said as she pulled out her tablet and opened up a window on the screen. Yuya looked at the images and raised an eyebrow.

"Gore, Soulburner, and Blue Maiden?" he said. "What about them?"

"The three of them were a part of LINK VRAINS Top before the other winners of the tournament, and we joined them to become the Top 10," Zuzu said. "Since they were LINK VRAINS's best duelists before we came along, I thought it best to learn as much about them as possible so that way when the time comes, we can try to ally with them, so they help us deal with not only with the Arbiters, but Specter and whoever he works for as well."

"That's not a bad idea," Yuya said. "I mean, it would be great to get some allies since the Lancers aren't here."

"Not only that, but the more allies we have on our side, the better chance we have to rescue Declan's father," Zuzu added.

So what can we learn about these three?" Yuya asked.

"Well, to start with: George Gore. Who back then was also known as the 'king of LINK VRAINS.' Unlike Blue Maiden, Soulburner, or the other Charisma Duelists, he uses his actual name and appearance when he goes into LINK VRAINS. What does that tell you?"

"Interesting," Yuya said simply. "So he wants to be recognized. He wants fame. In other words, he's a glory hound. He kind of reminds me of Sylvio, doesn't he?"

"I thought that too," Zuzu said. "Then I found this." She opened another window that showed an orphanage. "This is where he grew up. He volunteers there now and then. Most of his winnings go to supporting this orphanage. The man himself lives in a gym near the waterfront."

"So you're saying that gives back to the people who helped take care of him," Yuya said, a hand under his chin. "And it seems to me that he fights for more than just himself." I guess you're a good person, after all, George Gore, Yuya thought.

"And here's something you might like. Gore's also referred to as an Entertainment Duelist. Roxy couldn't help but smile after saying that.

He uses an old-fashioned style of Dueling called Entertainment Style. He makes his enemies seem stronger and aggressively crushes them with overwhelming strength thanks to his Goukis. That's what I call a brutal beatdown!"

"Sounds intense," Yuya said. "What about Blue Maiden?"

"Blue Maiden, formerly known as Blue Angel, is also an entertainer who used flashy moves and tricks but now she uses an archetype known as Marincess that are Cyberse cards which focus on swarming the field so she can execute multiple Link Summons, as well as using Trap Cards to disrupt plays."

"How about Soulburner?"

"He also uses a Cyberse archetype known as Salamangreat, that focuses around swarming the field with monsters to set up for Link Summons. It accomplishes this through many of the Main Deck monsters having effects to Special Summon themselves as the Deck is not heavily reliant on its Normal Summon.

"Sounds fascinating. Anything else we should know?"

A unique feature of his Deck is the boss monsters' potential to be Summoned by using another copy as material, Reincarnation Link Summon. For the Link Monsters, this is achieved through their Field Spell "Salamangreat Sanctuary." When Summoned this way, their monsters gain additional effects. In addition, some of his Spell and Trap Cards gain additional effects while the player controls a "Salamangreat" Link Monster Summoned in this way.

"Wow. I have to say those two will be very useful as allies," Yuya stated.

"No doubt. But where do we even start on how to get these guys on our side if we can't go into LINK VRAINS to meet with them?" Zuzu asked.

"We can ask SolTech if they could arrange a secret meeting for the five of us at the Charisma Castle since only people with special permission can access that place," Yuya suggested.

"Good idea. Not only we'll be able to talk, but it'll be private so that way no one will be able to trace us," Zuzu said. "How about we message them around lunch period?"

"Sounds good to me," Yuya answered. "Also speaking of SolTech, did you happen to send them the recording of my duel with Specter?"

"Did it last night before we went to bed," Zuzu answered. "However, they haven't responded to it, but I'm hoping they do soon."

"I'm pretty sure they will. We just have to give it time," Yuya mentioned. "Now that we got that settled, how about we finish up breakfast and get ready for school."

"You got it," Zuzu said.

A few hours later….

"I'm glad we had these leftovers for dinner," Yuya said as he ate.

"You should be thanking me. I felt like after your duel last night, you sure worked up quite an appetite, so before you headed in, I ordered us a bunch of take-out," Zuzu pointed out.

"Well, I do say thanks because it's so good."

"Don't eat so fast, or else you're going to choke on your food."

"Come on now, Zuzu, you should know by now, I can handle myself whenever I eat."

As Yuya continued eating through his food like a hungry monkey mind, he and Zuzu heard someone shout at him, "Hey! Look out!" They looked to their left, and coming straight towards them was a soccer ball, and promptly hit Yuya hard in the face. He yelled out in pain as he was sent flying off the bench he was sitting on, with his lunch flying out of his hands and his bag breaking open and its contents scattering.

"Sorry!" someone from nearby yelled. Yuya, rubbing his face with one hand, sat up and started picking his things up while muttering to himself.

"Who plays soccer during lunch? And why would they play it near the dining area?" Zuzu wondered.

"Are you okay?"

He looked up at the voice and noticed fellow Duel Club members Skye Zaizen, Yuji, and Ena.

"Yes," Yuya groaned, standing up. "Though I could do without the soccer ball." He picked the ball up and threw it back across the field. He thought he heard someone say "OW!" but he was sure he imagined it. It wasn't like he would try to get revenge for being hit in the face.

"Sorry about your lunch," Ena said as she helped Yuya pick up his belonging off the ground. "Let me make it up to you by buying you a new one."

"Thanks for the offer, but it's okay. I mean, you weren't the one who caused the accident," Yuya said.

"That's not entirely true," Yuji stated.

"What do you mean?" Zuzu asked.

"Follow us, and we'll show you," Skye replied as she, Yuji, and Ena led Yuya and Zuzu to the other side of the school.

They finally arrived at Den City's High soccer field and noticed the other members of the Duel Club there.

"Yo, Shima!" Skye shouted

"After hearing her voice, the chubby boy with small eyes, a largemouth, and green hair turned around to see Skye along with Yuya and Zuzu.

"Hey, Skye! Hey Yuji and Ena! Hey Yuya and Zuzu!" He shouted. "How are you doing?"

"We were doing alright before I got slammed in the face by a soccer ball," Yuya stated.

"Oh uh, yeah. I'm afraid that I was the cause of that," Shima said as he rubbed the back of his head.

"So you're the one who kicked the soccer ball that Yuya?" Zuzu asked. If I had my fan on me, I totally would smack him right now.

"I'm sorry," Shima said, gesturing to Yuya and Zuzu. "I didn't mean-."

"It's fine," Yuya said. "Accidents happen, and I know you didn't do it on purpose."

"If Yuya's able to forgive you, then I can as well," Zuzu added.

"Thank you!" Shima exclaimed in relief. "So, are you guys also joining us after school?"

"After school for what?" Yuya said, surprised. He looked at Zuzu to see if she knew what Shima was talking about, but she shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she didn't.

"Are you guys planning on going somewhere?" Zuzu asked.

"We are actually," Ena replied. "You care to explain, Skye?"

"Of course. You see, my brother Akira has connections with The Gore, one of LINK VRAINS's top duelists who attends the local orphanage where he used to live to take care of the kids," Skye explained.

"And her brother informed her that Gore would like some volunteers to help him with the children since he hasn't visited the last couple of days and is afraid those kids might be too energetic for him," Yuji added.

"So we and the entire Duel Club all accepted Gore's offer and decided to help him out after school," Ena said.

"Are you guys able to come?" Skye asked.

"Sure, we would love to come and help out," Yuya replied.

"What's the orphanage's address?" Zuzu asked.

"It's on the far side of Den City, but if it helps, I can message you it," Skye answered.

"And if you guys want to, you can meet with Ena and me after school, and we can head there together, Yuji offered

"Thanks, Skye and Yuji. That would help a lot," Zuzu said.

"Alright then, now how about we head over to the cafeteria so we can buy Yuya a new lunch?" Ena suggested.

"Sounds good to me. Let's go!" Yuya shouted as he, Zuzu, their counterparts, and Skye headed over to the cafeteria while Shima and the others went back to playing soccer.

At SOL Technologies...

Akira rushes into the central control room as quickly as he can after getting Hayami's message. He enters the room and demands firmly. ''What is it, Hayami?''

Hayami quickly turned around after seeing her boss and bows expressing. ''CEO Zaizen!''

She rushes over to him and tells him the news. ''We just received a video from an anonymous user.''

Akira raised his eyebrow after hearing Hayami. "What does the video show?"

''This,'' Hayami says, handing him a portable tablet. Akira grabs it and looks at it, his eyes narrowed and widened by what he's watching.

"Ringmaster dueled against one of the Knights of Hanoi last night in LINK VRAINS?" Akira said.

"Yes, but we're still trying to figure out what was the cause behind this," Hayami replied. "You have any thoughts?"

"Not that comes to mind, but I have a feeling that the Hanoi witnessed Ringmatser's duel against Seraph and seen his unique summoning method known as Pendulum and probably wanted to duel him to test his skills and see if he could be a potential enemy like the Arbiters," Akira replied.

'That is a possibility," Hayami stated. "You think we should keep an eye on Ringmaster?"

"Maybe. But Ringmaster hasn't shown any signs that can make him a threat," Akira pointed out. "How about the next time he duels publicly in LINK VRAINS, watch his duel carefully so that way we can depict any clues or hints to show if he's good or not?"

"As always, CEO Zaizen, you come with the best ideas for every solution," Hayami praised him.

"Just doing my job Hayami," he replied. "Call me again if anything regarding Ringmaster, the Arbiters, or the Hanoi shows up."

"Roger that," Hayami replied as she went back to work, and Akira left the room.

Once he exited and was alone in the all, he thought. Guess I better pay a little visit with the Hanoi.

Akira is reminded of Bohman and what he tried to do before.

Back at Den City High School…

At the end of the school day...

The school day finally ended, and Yuya and Zuzu waited for their counterparts to appear near the school entrance. Yuya checked his watch, which read 3:20 pm. When he turned his head to the entrance, he saw several students still exiting but didn't see Yuji or Ena.

"You think something happened to them?" Zuzu asked.

"I doubt it," Yuya replied. "Unless Yuji ended getting him and Ena along with Skye detention for either being late or something else, that wouldn't be surprising.

"I hope they didn't because if they did, then we won't be able to go to the orphanage and play with the kids, and we'll never the end of it from Shima," Zuzu stated.

"You said it," Yuya said before hearing a nearby car honk.

"Did you hear that?"

"I sure did," Zuzu replied.

They walked over to the parking lot to see where the sound was coming from, and pulling up in front of them was the Cafe Nom Truck as they saw two familiar faces in the front.

"Hey, you two. You need a ride?" Yuji asked.

"Hey Yuji, I didn't know you and Ena took the van to school.

"Normally, we don't, but Skye notified us early this morning before the rest of the Duel Club about helping volunteer at the orphanage after school, so we decided to drive the van to school.

"But we parked it a block away from the school so that nobody can see us pull in high," Ena added. "You know how high schoolers can be very judgemental sometimes."

"We completely understand, and thanks again for the ride," Zuzu said as she and Yuya got inside the vehicle.

"So, what do you two have planned for the children?" Yuya asked.

"After Skye asked us for help, we stopped by the store and picked up some sweet treats for the kids," Yuji replied.

"That was very kind of you," Zuzu said, causing Yuji to blush a little.

"According to the address that Skye provided us with, the orphanage is only about a 5-minute drive from the school," Yuji stated.

"If you two walked there, it would've been 20 minutes long," Ena pointed out.

"We already have to walk that long from home and back every day with school, don't think I could handle that," Yuya said.

"Well, lucky for the both of us, Yuji and Ena brought the van to make our lives easy," Zuzu added.

"We better leave now before Shima goes off and starts yelling at us for being late," Yuji pointed out.

"And I'm sure that nobody here wants that," Ena said.

"No, we don't," Yuya and Zuzu both said in unison.

"All right then. Off to the orphanage!" Yuji exclaimed as he turned on the car and drove off.

With Naoki off his back, Yusaku headed to where Yuhiro was. "I take it you wanted to speak to me?"

At Den City's Orphanage…

Den City Orphanage was the only orphanage that became quite famous to the public for being an orphanage often visited by several organizations for charity performances every year. The orphanage is solely dedicated to helping orphaned children and children in orphanages in Den City.

SOL Technologies decided that perhaps others would want to help the children in the orphanage regularly. But this Fund would need to be different because so much money donated in the name of "charity" actually goes for administration and not solely for helping others – who are truly in need. So, the Den City Orphanage Fund was founded on the premise that 100 percent of all money donated to the Fund would help children in orphanages in Den City – first to buy nourishing food for the children each week, second, educational needs, including school supplies, shoes, uniforms, clothes and making upgrades to their homes, the orphanages and medical needs.

In return for every donation, each fall, every donor would receive a copy of each store receipt – signed by the director of the orphanage or the principal caregiver who is at the orphanage at the time of delivery - to verify their donations were spent as they wanted to help the needy children in orphanages. In addition, the orphanage's name, address, and telephone number would be provided to each donor, and a list of the children in each orphanage and donors would always be welcome to visit the orphanage and participate in the children's lives. Also included in each annual report is the name and location of the banking institution, how much money is in the account, and what interest accrued on the money earned is also provided to the donors.

The Fund has an open-door policy with all contributors. And, it is believed that because of this, those donors will genuinely feel good about making contributions to the Fund because of the way the Fund is conducted: with 100 percent of every donation going toward orphaned children in Den City, because of the verification for each donation and lastly, because of the detailed accounting provided to donors. Every year in a week, some people from around the city and popular duelists in LINK VRAINS have to visit the orphanage and show performances or playing or anything to amuse the children there and for charity performances.

For that reason, now, the entire Den City High Duel Club was standing in front of the orphanage together, patiently waiting for the rest of the members to show up.

"Gee, what's taking them so long, Shima said as he paced back and forth.

"Won't you relax, Shima?" Skye said.

"She's right," Hosada added. "It's only 3: 25 and the thing starts at 3:30, so they still have five minutes to get here before we have to go outside."

"But what if they don't arrive before then, huh?" Shima asked. If we go in there and Gore doesn't see everyone who volunteered in there, he'll surely be disappointed."

"I highly doubt that," Skye stated.

"How would you know? Are you friends with him?"

"No, but I'm pretty sure Gore would understand if some of us are late, Shima," Skye replied.

"Well, I refuse to take that chance and let some tardier's be the cause of-"

"Be the cause of what, Shima?" A voice nearby said, causing everyone to turn to see it was Yuji.

"Were you about to say that the four of us will be the reason that you look bad in front of The Gore?" Ena asked.

"What? Of course not," Shima said as he started to sweat in fear. "You must've heard me wrong."

"Uh-huh," Yuji said. "Anyway. We're all here now. Should we go in?"

"Better now than never," The President replied as the entire Duel Club entered the orphanage.

As everyone walked down the hall towards the room where Gore and the orphans will be, Zuzu turned to Yuya.

"So, Yuya, what do you have planned for the kids?"

"Well, being a performer, I could do some magic tricks that my dad taught me for the children and help distribute the new toys and clothes they'll be getting," he replied. "How about you?"

"Probably also help distribute out the toys and clothes," she replied. "You know, T=this is a nice thing we're doing, and we deserve a breather after what we had to deal with for the last couple of days."

"I'm with you there," Yuya said. "This also will be a good thing for Yuto and Lulu since back then, since the two of them were always surrounded by children whenever they dueled with the other Resistance members in the park.

"Not only them but with Rin and Yugo both being orphans themselves, I'm sure they'll be happy seeing all those smiles on the children's faces," Zuzu added.

"I'm not sure about Yuri and Celina, though," Yuya mentioned. "I doubt they have any experience dealing with kids.

"I agree," Zuzu said. "Yuri would probably be like, "I'm not interested in babysitting," and Celina would try to help out but end trying to teach the baby how to fight and defend themselves like how she was taught back at Duel Academy,"

"Well, either way, what matters the most is making those kids day, and make them hope that their lives will become better," Yuya stated.

"You said it," Zuzu agreed.

"Attention, everyone! We have arrived," Hosada announced, indicating that they were now at the room where Gore was.

"I can't believe I'm about to meet The Gore," Shima said with excitement.

"Promise you won't make a scene," Skye said.

"Doubt he'll keep it," Yuji said.

"Hey! I can be calm and cool," Shima stated.

"We'll see if that's true or not," Ena said.

"If we're all done putting each other down, how about we enter the room and help out?" Hosoda said.

"Right!' The entire club replied as Hosoda opened the door, and they all went inside.

After entering the room, everyone was greeted by the orphanage owner and the woman who cared for all the orphans.

"So, where's Gore at?" Shima abruptly asked.

"He'll be here shortly," the woman answered. "In the meantime, how bout you play with the children?"

"Fine. Hey, everyone! Why don't we watch TV?" Shima offered, turning the kids' attention towards him as they headed straight to the TV.

"Looks like Shima's focus is now on the kids more than Gore," Zuzu said as help a couple of kids build a tower.

"While it's nice wanting to meet someone you look up to, there are other things that are equally important," Yuya added as he performed a card trick for a group of kids.

"I agree with you, Yuya," Yuji said as he and Ena painted with the kids.

"When Yuji and I were younger, our parents always told us to help others who can't take care of themselves," Ena stated.

"So being around these kids reminds us of that important lesson," Yuji added.

"Speaking of your parents, do you guys live with them?" Zuzu asked.

"Well, if you guys recall, my family owns their own business," Ena answered.

"The flower shop and cafe, right?" Yuya asked.

"Correct," Ena replied. "And if you remember, on Cafe Yamashiro's 10th anniversary, we were jam-packed, and Yuji and I were so relieved to go home after our shift ended."

"By the time we got home, our parents were cleaning up and getting ready to close," Yuji added.

"But right before they closed up for the night, they were approached by a businessman who wanted to buy Cafe Yamishiro and make it a chain brand," Ena finished.

"So what happened?" Zuzu asked.

"They had 24 hours to think it over, and while my mom thought they shouldn't take the offer, my father thought it is great for my family because not only we would make more money but could help provide a future for me," Ena answered.

"My parents thought the same thing as well and joined Mr. Yamashiro's side and soon convinced Ena's mother to take the offer," Yuji added.

"So after sharing the news with us, I was severely hurt at first because my father gave away the family business, but I understand his actions were good and accepted it."

"So our parents used the money they earned to buy an apartment for me and Ena to live in while they're away helping run the company."

"Wow. Even though you guys don't have to worry about your future, it's still sad to hear that your father just gave up the store like that," Zuzu said.

"Zuzu's right," Yuya said. "Even though your parents made this decision with the thought of helping you, it feels like they abandoned you even if it wasn't intentional."

"Even though we thought what they did was wrong, we understand now that they were trying to provide the best for us," Ena stated.

"Plus, there are times where they visit, or we visit them during summer break, so it's not a total loss," Yuji added.

"Guess not," Both Yuya and Zuzu said.

"Oh my god!"

"Huh?" The four teens said in confusion after hearing someone shouting.

After skipping through a couple of channels on the TV, Shima found one where it showed the replay footage of both Ringmaster's and Maestra's duels against Zekt and Seraph. All the children's attention immediately went to the show, all sitting while cheering for Ringmaster and Maestra while holding pictures and boards they made to cheer the two duelists.

"Ringmaster and Maestra were all over the news ever since those duels," Skye mentioned to the four teens.

"I mean, how could they not?" Hosoda said as he approached the group. "Two duelists show up out of nowhere, join the rehosted tournament that was previously canceled because of an evil group, and they showcase amazing dueling abilities like their pros.

"Especially, Ringmaster with his Pendulum Summon technique," Skye added. "Did you see their duels, Yuya and Zuzu?"

"How could we miss it? It was broadcast everywhere," Zuzu answered.

"I mean, my dueling skills aren't too shabby, but I still have a lot to learn if I want to make it to their level," Zuzu replied.

"I wouldn't be so sure," Hosoda rebutted. "When you dueled Shima, you showcased amazing skills as a duelist."

"Hosoda's right. "You used a combo to Xyz Summon using Trap Cards as monsters and used a Spell Card known as a Rank-Up-Magic to make your Dark Rebellion stronger and help you win the duel," Skye stated.

"They're not wrong, Yuya. Your skills as a duelist might be on another level as a Charisma Duelist," Yuji stated

"Maybe you should try out on becoming a Charisma Duelist," Ena suggested.

"While that is a nice thought, I haven't any experience in LINK VRAINS, so I wouldn't know what I'd be doing," Yuya replied.

"That's fair. You'll probably give it a try when you're ready," Hosoda said.

"Excuse me, everyone, snack time is about to start, so wash up!" The caretaker announced.

"Sounds like the perfect time to bring in those treats for the kids," Ena said.

"If you guys don't mind, Zuzu and I will be happy to get them," Yuya offered.

"No problem," Yuji said as he handed him the keys to the van.

"Thanks, man," Yuya said as he and Zuzu left the room.

After heading towards the outside exit, Yuya reached for the knob of the door. When he opened the door to go outside, he was surprised to find someone standing right in front of the door. He bumped into him and nearly fell back if not for the person steadying him by grabbing his arm.

"Are you okay? Sorry, I surprised you."

"N-no! I'm okay!" Yuya looked up to face the person and was surprised when he came face to face with the Charisma Duelist he met at the Charisma Castle in LINK VRAINS a few days ago, The Gore, known as George Gore in real life. A man who seemed to be his manager also came in behind Gore.

"It's George Gore!'' Yuya called out in surprise.

"The one and only," Gore stated.

"I assume all those presents you're carrying are for the children, right?" Zuzu asked.

"You are correct," Gore replied. "I assume the two of you are Skye's friends.

"Not only that, but we're also members of the Den City Duel Club," Yuya mentioned.

"So you guys like to duel, huh? You guys aspired to become Charims Duelists?" Gore asked.

"Not at the moment, but maybe one day," Zuzu replied.

"I understand. So may I ask what you two were doing before I bumped into your friend here?"

"Some friends of ours have brought desserts for the kids to eat after snack time, so we were going out to the car and get them," Yuya answered.

"Well, if you guys like, I can help you bring them in," Gore offered.

"Really?" Zuzu and Yuya asked Gore if he was serious.

"Yup, I usually visit the kids by donating presents here. I used to be an orphan myself, so that's why I duel as a Charisma Duelist in Link VRAINS so that they can have everything they need to live as happy children''. Gore explained to the two teens. "So it'll make me even happier to see a lot of smiling faces by helping fill their stomachs.

"Thanks, Gore! We appreciate it," Zuzu said.

"Don't sweat it," Gore said. "You mind looking after the gifts until I'm finished helping these two?"

"Not at all, Mr. Gore," The manager replied.

The three of them went outside to the truck and grabbed all the bags from the van as they headed back inside.

"Ok. It looks we got everything," Yuya said.

"Seems like it," Zuzu added. "We better hurry before all of it starts to melt.

"Wise choice," Gore said. "But now it's going to be difficult for me to carry the presents."

"Mind if we help you out by carrying some of them?" Yuya suddenly asked, getting a surprised look from Gore. "Really? You sure that's a good idea when you're carrying all those bags?"

Yuya and Zuzu nodded their heads in response. "Sure, we like helping out people," Zuzu replied to Gore, already having experience helping children.

"That's right," Yuya said with a smile, agreeing with his friend. "We can bring up a few of them up now and then get the rest after we hand out the ice cream to the kids."

Gore still looked surprised before he smiled.

"Thanks, you two''. Gore thanked Saya for reminding him about that present. "Sorry, we were just curious about those presents that you're carrying in your arms," Lulu said to the Charisma Duelist as she helped Saya put the present back in the pile that Gore was carrying.

Gore gave Yuya presents and some to Zuzu, though not as much since they are still young. Both Yuya and Zuzu held the presents with their hands as they walked back to the room where everyone was.

They made their way back to the room as Gore's manager opened the door due to their full hands.

"Hey, kids! I've brought presents for my biggest fans!'' Gore called out to the children of the orphanage, causing them to turn their attention towards him.

"Hey, it's Gore!" A little boy shouted.

"And he brought us gifts!" A little girl added.

"The group headed straight towards Gore as he handed them the presents.

"Not only that, but my two friends here, Yuya and Zuzu, also brought you guys some sweet treats as well," Gore added.

"Wow. Thanks, you two," A little boy said.

"No problem," Both Yuya and Zuzu replied in response.

"So, what have you guys been doing before I arrived?" Gore asked the kids.

"Just playing with these guys and watching a bit of TV," One of the kids replied.

"That sounds nice. What have you been watching?" Gore said.

"Just some replays of duels in LINK VRAINS," Another kid replied.

"Is that so? "Well, if they're showcasing the best duels in LINK VRAINS, then it's obvious they're all mine," Gore said as he walked over towards the TV.

Before arriving near the group of kids near the TV, Gore noticed that the screen wasn't showing any of his duels from LINK VRAINS, but Ringmaster's and Maestra's duels from the previously held tournament.

"Gore, is there something wrong?" Yuya asked in concern, seeing Gore spaced out right now.

Gore then snapped out of it before he looked at Yuya.

"Sorry, I just spaced out for a bit." Gore apologized to the young boy, feeling bad that he got him worried.

"Are you sure you're all right, Gore?" Zuzu asked, also feeling worried for Gore.

"Yes, I'm sure. Nothing's wrong". Gore answered to Zuzu, feeling bad that he also got the young girl worried.

Yuya could see frustration behind Gore's normal expression from the corner of his eyes. When Gore excused himself to get the rest of the presents he bought for the children from out in the hall with his manager, Yuya followed them, though not understanding why.

In the hall, where there's no one besides himself and his manager, Go punched the wall like the sandbag he sometimes used to exercise to relieve his frustration. Yuya nearly yelped from that, almost making a sound from the other side of the door.

"I can't believe this it's happening again," Gore said.

"No need to be so angry. You won't be able to win any duels if you can't keep a cool head." His manager said calmly, trying to ease Gore's anger.

"You haven't seen the news? Look! They're all talking about Ringmaster and Maestra! Even though one of the Top 3 duelists in LINK VRAINS, they're all everyone's talking about, especially Ringmaster!" Gore stated.

"I know. You've put in a lot of effort to reign over Link VRAINS. I know that better than anyone." His manager said in understanding. They have been working together for a few years, so he knew how much efforts Gore had made to become one of LINK VRAINS'S best duelists.

"You're right," Gore admitted. "There always be new duelists appearing in LINK VRAINS who instantly become the next big thing, but no matter how great they are, they'll never take my loyal fans away from me."

"Exactly, sir," Gore's manager said.

"I'll beat them to a fine pulp when I find them!" Go swore.

Yuya started to sweat after hearing that. He entered LINK VRAINS because Kolter suggested he and Zuzu should get a feel of it. Still, his duel against Seraph not only has successfully made him the main topic in all news but also earned him a grudge from one of the most popular Charisma Duelists, who was also previously known as the champion of LINK VRAINS. He wondered if he messed up a big time. Yuya leaned his back to the door while pondering, forgetting it was open. The door opened, and Yuya fell forward, letting out a startled shriek as he hit the floor.

"You're okay?" Yuya looked up to see Gore, and his manager looked at him in surprise.

"S-sorry!" Yuya squeaked, bowing slightly.

"No, it's okay. Sorry if I surprised you again." Go leaned down, took Yuya's hand, grasped it firmly, and pulled Yuya back to his feet.

"I-I didn't mean to eavesdrop. I thought I could help you gather the rest of the presents," Yuya explained himself almost frantically. He didn't even know why he wanted to follow them in the first place.

A sound from the news showed another footage of Ringmaster's duel against Seraph, causing Gore to growl.

"I'm sorry…." Yuya found himself apologizing to Gore. He never thought that his action would frustrate Gore this much. Gore, on the other hand, blinked at the boy, wondering why he apologized again. He then noticed Yuya was looking at the news that showed Ringmaster and made an understanding sound.

"I see. You're also a fan of Ringmaster and Maestra?" Go concluded.

"E-eh? No! I mean, err… Yes!" Yuya answered while looking down, didn't dare to face Gore. A misunderstanding, but better this way since he doesn't want to be battered by Gore or let him know that he's the guy Gore despises.

Go gently patted Yuya's head, smiling kindly at the younger boy, causing Yuya to look up at Go.

"You don't need to apologize. As much as I hate to admit it, Ringmaster and Maestra are both strong and excellent duelists. They not only became household names, but they also earned the right to become Charisma Duelists, as well being a part of the new Top 10," Gore said.

"You think so?" Yuya asked.

But of course. Why wouldn't everyone would admire those two? Especially that Ringmaster. His Pendulum Summon and tricks. He's an entertainer." Gore said with his arms crossed, nodding with acknowledgment for the Duelists despite his anger and frustration. Yuya blushed a bit, hearing the praise.

"As an entertainer myself, I want to Duel Ringmaster. Especially in a Speed Duel," Gore stated.

"Why a Speed Duel?" Yuya wondered.

"Because unlike in a Master Duel, there are only three Main Monster Zones and three Spell/Trap Zones, meaning if he tries to use his famous Pendulum Summon, he'll only have one Spell/Trap Zone available," Gore explained.

"So it would make it even more of a challenge for him, and you'd like to see how he can overcome it?" Yuya concluded.

"Correct. I want to know which one of us is the better entertainer!" Gore said determinedly.

Yuya chuckled. It has been quite a while since he met an Entertainment Duelist like himself. And Gore was a passionate one to boot. Besides the others, Yuya was also genuinely interested in Gore's Dueling, which was Entertainment Style. He already learned much about Gore from Zuzu earlier this morning, but now that he has met him in person, Yuya would like to know more about Gore and his Dueling. He wanted to Duel Gore.

"Well, while I'd like to continue our conversation, we probably should gather the rest of the presents and head back before everyone starts to worry," Gore suggested.

"Right behind you," Yuya said as he and Gore gathered the rest of the presents and headed back inside the room.

Two hours later…

"Thank you, everyone, for helping out today," The caretaker thanked the entire Duel Club for volunteering.

"You're welcome," The club members responded.

"And thank you, Yuya and Zuzu, for helping me carry all those gifts," Gore thanked the two teens.

"You're welcome. Besides, as I said, we like helping out people". Yuya replied to Gore, happy to bring presents to children.

"Hope we get to do this again soon," Zuzu exclaimed with a smile, having enjoyed helping Gore out.

"Well, if you like, we can set up something tomorrow unless you're busy," The caretaker suggested.

"We don't have school tomorrow because of some board meeting, so if you don't mind, we can come in the afternoon if that's ok?" Skye stated.

"That'll be perfect," The caretaker said. "So, who can I expect to come in?"

"Well, I know, I can make it. How about you, Yuji and Ena?" Skye asked the two teens.

"We have nothing set up for tomorrow, so we'd be happy to help out again," Ena replied.

"So you can count on us being there," Yuji added.

"What about the rest of you guys?" Skye asked the other members.

"I can't," Shima replied. "I have to visit my grandmother tomorrow."

"And I already made plans with everyone else to work on the project that's due on Friday," Hosoda answered.

"Well, that's a shame," Skye said. "Yuya and Zuzu, I assume you guys are coming back to help?"

"You are correct," Zuzu replied.

"I wouldn't skip out on an opportunity to make kids smile," Yuya added.

"Well, ok then. You can expect the five of us tomorrow afternoon," Skye told the caretaker.

"Fantastic. See you all tomorrow," The caretaker said as she headed on home.

Yuya then turned his head towards Gore. "Hope I'll get to see you again tomorrow Gore," Yuya said.

"I assure you that you will. Now, I must be going now. See ya around,". Gore said as he walked off, heading back towards his warehouse, as did everyone else.

At Kolter's apartment…

"You want to duel Gore," Zuzu said while cleaning the dishes after Yuya told her.

"Why not? Even though he doesn't my alter ego Ringmaster, he does respect me as an Entertainer, and I just can't ignore that," Yuya replied.

"But don't you remember what we discussed earlier about not going into LINK VRAINS for a while?" Zuzu asked.

"I do. But this is a super rare opportunity that I want to experience," Yuya answered.

"I understand that. But you to take in the consequences that could happen if you pursue this action and how can it affect us," Zuzu stated. "So, will you please promise me that you won't go into LINK VRAINS to duel Gore?"

"I promise," Yuya said.

"Thanks. Now let's head on off to bed since we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow," Zuzu said as she and Yuya went to their rooms.

After putting on his pajamas and brushing his teeth, Yuya headed straight for bed.

"Are you seriously not going to duel Gore?" A voice asked, causing Yuya to turn around to see his Synchro Counterpart, Yugo.

"I mean, I want to, but Zuzu's worried that the Specter and whoever he works for might track us and figure out our identities and doesn't want to risk that happening," Yuya replied to Yugo.

"And you know she's right," said another voice revealing it to be Yuto's. "This is our fight, Yuya, and while it may also be his, we came to this dimension to find and rescue Declan's father, and we have to take precautions when doing so."

"If the three of you don't mind, I would like to say something," Another voice said, revealing it to be Yuri's. "While I do agree with Yuto on playing it safe until the time is right, I also have to agree with Yugo. When presented with a duel you surely know is going to be a good one, you just have to accept it."

"Come on, Yuto. Didn't you feel good seeing all those smiles on those kids' faces, just like the ones you provided with your duels back in Heartland?" Yuya asked his Xyz Counterpart.

"I did, but-"

"But nothing!" Yuya abruptly interrupted Yuto. "Even Yugo can vouch for Gore because he also grew up in an orphanage and had the dream of making it out one day and giving back to the people who cared for him."

"Yuya's right," Yugo stated. "And even Yuri isn't the social type. He can understand how when you're growing up and not knowing where you came from or how to connect with others."

"That's true. I can relate to that," Yuri added.

"I can tell the Gore's the type of duelist that makes your blood burn with the desire to duel strong opponents like him," Yuya stated. "I hope you understand now why I must duel him.''

"I do. You just better hope that Zuzu doesn't react all crazy when she finds out,'' Yuto said with a smile, okay with Yuya dueling Gore.

"Thanks, Yuto,'' Yuya said as he thanked his Xyz Counterpart. "You too, Yugo and Yuri."

"Don't mention it," Yuri said.

"No sweat, Yuya. Plus, even though I don't physically have a body, it'll still be nice to experience a Speed Duel since I can no longer Turbo Duel," Yugo stated.

The next day…

Zuzu woke up and got out of bed as she then headed over to Yuya's room to wake him up, so they could shower and eat breakfast since later today they're going back to volunteer at the orphanage.

"Yuya! Time to get up!" She yelled. "Yuya?"

After not getting a response after the second knock, she opened his bedroom door and went inside.

"Yuya, you in here?" Zuzu said with concern as she turned on the lights and saw that he wasn't in his room nor his bathroom. "Where could he be?"

She then left his room and entered the living room, finding a note on the kitchen fridge. It was from Yuya.

I know you said not to do it, but I sent a message to Gore, challenging him to a duel in LINK VRAINS. Sorry for doing this, but as an entertainer, I have to. See you after the duel, Yuya.

Zuzu took the note down and placed it on a table before heading to Kolter's room and noticed that the monitors were turned on and the door that let them log into LINK VRAINS had been recently used.

"Yuya," Zuzu muttered.

At Den City's Waterfront….

Gore returned to his home at the gym after completing a long jog around the waterfront. According to his manager, jogging can clear one's mind of the stresses they faced yesterday. It was also a way to improve cardiovascular fitness, but it can also help improve one's mood.

"Ah, Gore," his manager said, opening the door seeing that Gore returned, "how was your jog?"

"It was good," Gore replied, heading inside and grabbing a towel. "Say, I'm starving. Is breakfast ready?"

"Yes. Eggs with fruit, sausage, and toast, as you requested." Gore's manager walked with Go upstairs to the kitchen as Gore sat down and started eating. The manager was looking through the tablet containing Gore's activities for the day.

"Pardon me for interrupting your meal," Go's manager said, "but while you were out, you received a message."

"Really?" Go said, making him curious enough to stop eating. "What's the message?"

Gore's manager handed the tablet to Gore. Gore looked at it before he widened his eyes in surprise.

"Ringmaster wants to duel me?'' Gore asked in surprise at the message was a challenge.

"He said that not only as a duelist but as an entertainer, he's interested in you and wants to see and test your skills in actions. That's why he's challenging you. Gore's manager informed Gore, having read the message a little while ago.

Gore thought about it before he smirked. "The Gore never turns down a challenge! Tell him I'll be waiting for him in Link VRAINS!'' Gore told his messenger as he returned the tablet before entering the wrestling ring, raising his left fist. "I'm linking into the VRAINS!'' Gore called out as he was surrounded by data, entering Link VRAINS.

In LINK VRAINS…

Ringmaster looked at his right arm while waiting for Gore on a rooftop, wondering what was taking him so long, seeing that a guy like him would instantly accept a challenge from anyone. Just then, a portal opened, and Gore jumped out of it and landed on the same rooftop Ringmaster was on.

"So, why'd you want to Duel me?" Gore asked, getting straight to the point. "You're a fellow Charisma Duelist, you're one of the five best duelists out of the ten, and most importantly, you're not one of those Arbiter thugs?''

"Would you believe me if I said that after watching your intense duel with Playmaker, I just wanna have an intense duel against you?'' Ringmaster asked Gore with an amused smile on his face.

Gore smirked in amusement at the Ringmaster's response. "I see you and have a lot more in common than I thought,''. Gore said in amusement, having not expected Ringmaster to have a fiery passion for dueling like him.

"Well, don't judge a book by its cover''. Ringmaster replied with a smirk on his face.

"Guess you have a point. Anyway, let's do this!'' Gore called out with a smirk on his face, which Ringmaster nodded to him.

The two suddenly jumped off the rooftop as two D-Boards appeared from under them. Gore was riding a maroon board with black and gold edges, and Ringmaster was riding a red board with yellow and white edges as they rode the data stream, with Gore riding upfront with his board,

"Let's Speed Duel!'' Gore and Ringmaster shouted as they drew their starting hand.

Gore: 4000 LP

VS

Ringmaster: 4000 LP

"Since I'm in front, I'll take the first turn!" Gore said, waving his hand in front of him to see his cards. "I summon Gouki Suprex!"

A blue ogre with claws on his hands and a long blue tail appeared on his field.

Gouki Suprex ATK: 1800 DEF: 0 LVL: 4

"I activate Suprex's effect! Since it was Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon one "Gouki" monster from my hand! I summon Gouki Twistcobra!"

A green ogre with four limbs, two ending with hands and the other ending in sharp points, with two snake tails trailing from its head, appeared next to Suprex.

Gouki Twistcobra ATK 1600 DEF 0 LVL: 3

"I end my turn," Gore concluded. "Now show me what you got, Ringmaster!"

"He's putting on an Entertainer act. In that case, I'll defeat him with my Entertainment! My dueltaining!" Ringmaster couldn't help but smile wide. My first ever Speed Duel. And against a duelist like Gore.

At Den City's Central Plaza…

"Hello, everybody! Look what we have here! In LINK VRAINS, he appeared again! Ringmaster has appeared again for the second time! Not only that, facing against him is the Charisma Duelist The Gore!" The MC announced, showing the two duelists on the large screen.

Everyone turned their attention towards the screen, seeing two of LINK VRAINS'S best duelists going against each other.

"Wow! Can't believe we get to see Ringmaster duel again!" A spectator exclaimed.

"Gore, huh? It's about time we get a new hero." Another spectator said while looking at Gore with dismissive eyes.

"Oh? I like how Gore can turn the tables despite being cornered in a duel." The spectator beside him said in defense.

"That Dueling style is just lame! It's outdated! I'm betting it on my new hero! Ringmaster! Give Gore a beatdown!" The other spectator cheered for the Pendulum user.

"All right! A duel between the Charisma Duelist The Gore and Link VRAINS's new superstar, Ringmaster, has begun! Is Gore turning from babyface to heel? Or, will Ringmaster claim another victory? Now, this is a Duel you don't want to take your eyes off!" The MC announced, pointing at the TV screen.

"Go, Gore!"

"You're the guy who helped protect LINK VRAINS long ago!"

"Good luck, Gore!"

The children in the orphanage cheered, holding pictures and boards of Gore's name while their caretaker and Gore's manager were watching from behind them.

"They sure are excited, huh?" Gore's manager commented while observing the children.

"Well, Gore has done so much for us," The caretaker replied.

"Even though new duelists appear in LINK VRAINS every day, these children are nothing but loyal to Gore. They're supporting the cool hero who fights for justice." Gore's manager said.

"You're right. Even if Gore does lose, they'll continue to support him." The caretaker said.

"Gore's Dueling is Entertainment Style. He makes his enemy seems stronger and then crushes them all with overwhelming might. Perhaps his style will triumph, even if he's up against Ringmaster." Gore's manager explained while watching the Duel continue.

Back at the duel….

"My turn!" Ringmaster said. "I draw! "I'll begin by summoning out Performapal Flip Hippo!"

A dark purple hippo wearing a hat and a tux with a lightning bolt on its forehead emerged onto his field.

"When Performapal Flip Hippo is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon a "Performapal" monster from my hand! So come and join the party, Performapal Odd-Eyes Fusionist!"

Flip Hippo removed its top hat and held it upside down above it. The hat's brim widened before Fusionist came out.

"Now, I activate the Spell Card: Pendulum Rising! It lets me send Flip Hippo to the graveyard to Special Summon one Pendulum Monster from my deck with the same Level. I Special Summon the Level 3 Power Magician!"

As Flip Hippo burst into particles, taking its place was a magician with spiky, fiery red hair and hazel eyes as he wore a brown coat, black arm guards, and wielded a short wooden staff in his right hand.

Power Magician ATK 1000 DEF 1000 LVL: 3 PS: 2

"And I'm far from finished," Ringmaster stated. "I activate Odd-Eyes Fusionist's effect. Using this card and Monsters from my field as materials, I can perform a Fusion Summon during either player's turn. And due to its effect, Odd-Eyes Fusionist can be treated as a "Pendulum Dragon" Monster for the Fusion Summon of a Fusion Monster which lists "Pendulum Dragon" as one of its Fusion Materials! I will fuse Power Magician and Odd-Eyes Fusionist!"

The two Performapals shattered into red and blue particles that swirled into a vortex before shooting upwards as tornados. The two tornados merged into a single violet twister.

"Magical messenger of the heavens, become one with the mysterious dragon and give birth to a new power! I Fusion Summon! Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

Rune-Eyes appeared on Ringmaster's field, letting out a resonant howl.

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon ATK 3000 DEF 2000 LVL: 8

"Incredible! Ringmaster brought out one of the dragons he used in his duel against Seraph!" The MC announced. "Let's see if Gore can handle it."

"If I recall, your dragon has the effect that allows it to attack multiple times depending on the level of the Spellcaster you used to summon it, right?" Gore asked.

"Correct," Ringmaster answered. "Since I used the Level 3 Power Magician as Fusion Material to bring out Rune-Eyes, it can attack twice in one turn."

"That would be very helpful, but if you planned to beat me in one turn, your monster may have enough attack points to destroy my monsters, but not enough to obliterate my Life Points," Gore pointed out.

"We'll see about that," Ringmaster said as he held out his hand. "Battle! I attack Gouki Suprex with Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" As Gore wondered what Ringmaster was up to, Rune-Eyes jumped into the air as the ring on Rune-Eyes' back as well as the orb on its stomach began to glow

Ringmaster then pointed at his Fusion Monster, "Since Power Magician was used as Fusion Material, Rune-Eyes gains 1000 ATK during the Battle Phase!" A silhouette of Power Magician appeared behind Rune-Eyes momentarily, giving him more power in a fiery, red aura.

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon ATK 3000→4000

Gore's eyes widened in surprise, "4000 ATK…." It's now strong enough to wipe out my Life Points.

After Rune-Eyes was done charging up his attack, Ringmaster yelled out, "Spiral Sky Shot!"

Rune-Eyes roared as it fired a beam of energy from his left orb connected with Suprex, causing Gore to wince a bit from the damage.

Gore: 4000→1800 LP

"Looks like Gore's having some trouble! Ringmaster pulled off an amazing combo and dealt 1900! Ringmaster may be just as good as Playmaker!'' MC commented as the people that were watching were amazed by Ringmaster's moves.

"Looks like Gore has taken all the hits he can take! He only has the count of 3 to get back up, or it's KO for him! 1, 2-'' MC called out as he started counting, till Gore got back on his feet. "Looks like the Gore can take some more! The Duel is still on!'' MC called out as the people applauded Gore.

"It'll take more than that to take down the Gore, and I'll prove it right now! Since Suprex was sent from the field to the Graveyard," Gore said through clenched teeth, "I can add a "Gouki'" card beside itself from my Deck to my hand. I add Gouki Riscorpio!"

"Just because you were able to get a card doesn't mean it's enough to save you!'' Ringmaster stated. "Attack Twistcobra, Rune-Eyes! Double Spiral Sky Shot!"

Rune-Eyes roared as it unleashed a third energy beam from the top orb, making Gore shield his face as it hit Twistcobra, destroying it and enveloping Gore's field in a cloud of smoke.

"I'm sorry to say that a bit disappointed that our duel ended early." Ringmaster said. "I was expecting a lot more."

"Well, it's a good thing that I'm still in this duel."

"Huh?" Ringmaster said the cloud of smoke began to fade, revealing Gore to be still standing.

Gore: 1800→600 LP

"What the!? How did you survive my attack?!'' Ringmaster asked in surprise at seeing Gore's Life Points.

"Simple, I discarded Gouki Octostretch! By using his ability, I, all battle damage is halved," Gore explained as the card appeared in front of him before disappearing.

"I'm impressed. Got to say I didn't see that coming," Ringmaster admitted.

"And it's going to get even better because the effect of Twistcobrq activates!" Gore declared. "Since it was sent from the field to the Graveyard, I can add a "Gouki" card beside itself from my Deck to my hand. I add Gouki Headbatt!"

Gore raised his right hand and said, "Power… I can feel it surging through my hand! All right! I'm all fired up!" He raised his fist in the air as the gold outlines on his coat glowed and said, "I activate my Skill! Pain and Gain! I'm now allowed Special Summons all "Gouki" monsters that you destroyed in battle this turn!" Twistcobra and Suprex reappeared on his field.

"Not too bad," Gore said. "You've almost depleted all my Life Points in a single turn. Now it's time for me to respond in kind. My turn! I draw!"

Gore eyes his hand and smirks as he shows one of the cards in his hand. ''First, I activate the Spell Card: Pot of Greed! This card allows me to draw two more cards. Next, since I control only "Gouki" monsters, I can Normal Summon Gouki Riscorpio without sacrificing another monster!''

A red ogre with scorpion claws and a scorpion tail also appeared on Gore's field.

"Now, let's get it on my circuit!'' Gore shouted as he shot a burst of energy from his hand into the sky, forming a portal he traveled through. Ringmaster raised an eyebrow at that. Was Link Summoning during a Speed Duel that different?

"Link Arrows authorized! The summoning conditions are two "Gouki" monsters. I set Suprex and Twistcobra in the Link Arrows!" His monsters turned into whirlwinds and entered the left and bottom arrows.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Appear! Link-2! Gouki Jet Ogre!"

A dark blue ogre with a jetpack on its back and a sword in its right hand emerged from the portal, summoned to the Extra Monster Zone.

"You may have done a good job, Gore, bringing out those Link Monsters, but they aren't strong enough to take down my dragon," Ringmaster pointed out.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Gore rebutted. First, Riscorpio's effect lets me add Gouki Tagpartner to my hand. Furthermore, The Great Ogre's effect activates! While it's on the field, all monsters lose attack points equal to their original defense points!"

"What!?"

"Go, Ogre Pressure!" The Great Ogre roared as Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon became weaker.

A stream of poison-like liquid was shot out of the card, heading straight towards Ringmaster.

"When I about to take effect damage, I can send Performapal Rain Goat from my hand to negate that damage!"

A monster's silhouette was shaped like a goat, but it had a blue raincoat covering all of its body, plus it was wearing a top hat and a polka-dotted bowtie. The monster then used its coat to shield Ringmaster from the blast before disappearing.

"Fine then. I set one card and head straight into my Battle Phase!" Gore declared. "Gouki Jet Ogre, you're up first! Attack Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Jet Ogre hopped up high in the air as it came down with its sword ready to strike forward and was about to slice Legionnaire in two when…

"During the Battle Phase, Power Magician's effect kicks in, increasing Rune-Eyes ATK by 1000!" Ringmaster exclaimed as Rune-Eyes glowed.

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon ATK 1000→2000

"It's still not enough to survive Jet Ogre's attack!" Gore stated as Jet Ogre slashed its sword through Rune-Eyes, destroying it and causing Ringmaster to wince in pain.

Ringmaster: 4000→3200 LP

"Next, Great Ogre will attack you directly! Ogre Axe!"

The Great Ogre hefted its ax and then brought it down. It released a wave of purple energy at Ringmaster.

I activate Performapal Inflater Tapir's effect! By sending this card to the Graveyard, I can reduce the battle damage I would take from this battle to 0!" Ringmaster sent Tapir to the Graveyard as a monster resembling a balloon elephant wearing a top hat appeared before him and sucked up the damage from the explosion.

"I had a feeling you'd do something like that, which is why I'm activating the Quick-Play Spell Card: Adrenaline Rush!" The card depicted Maximum Six charging towards Lycanthrope as a crimson aura surrounded its entire body. "Since a monster, I control failed to deal you damage. It's allowed to attack again."

"What?"

"Let's try this again, The Great Ogre! Ogre Axe!"

The Great Ogre slashed Ringmaster's body as he screamed in pain.

Ringmaster: 3200→600 LP

"I end my turn," Gore said. And since it was the end of my turn, Headbattt's effect ends, and Jet Ogre's attack returns to 2000.

Gouki Jet Ogre ATK 2800→2000

"And look at that!" the MC said. "Even though Gore lost almost all his Life Points, he's managed to push Ringmaster to the danger zone! Now, this is going to be a match for the history books, kids!"

"You know, that MC makes some crazy comments," Ringmaster said. "If I don't pull off a miracle on my next draw, then this duel is as good as done."

"Then you better hope your next draw is a good one."

"Zuzu? That you?" Ringmaster said after hearing the voice coming from his Duel Disk. "Your not mad at me for what I did, right?"

"I was at first, but I come to understand that if this is something you have to do, who am I to prevent you from doing so," Zuzu answered. "Now go on and turn this duel around!"

"You got it, Zuzu!"

"Good luck."

Alright, both me and Gore have 600 Life Points, but he currently has the advantage of having more monsters on his field than me, meaning this entire duel relies on my next draw, which I have to say is very risky.

"Well, if anyone knows a thing or two about risks, then I'm you guy."

A nearby voice said, revealing to be Yugo.

"Yugo?" Yuya said, surprised after seeing his Synchro Counterpart again.

"If can help you turn this duel around with the help of a little luck. That is if you let me tag in," Yugo offered.

"Seeing on how I'm in a tight situation, I guess it couldn't hurt," Yuya said. "Alright, Yugo. You got yourself a deal."

"Awesome! Now let's give Gore a run for his money."

Yuya suddenly closed his eyes before opening them back up, only this time his eyes were now the same color as Yugo's.

"My turn!" Ringmaster announced with Yugo's voice overlapping over his. "Draw! I activate the Spell Card: Foresight Draw!" The Spell depicted an image of Mind on Air with a Deck of cards as three separate ones in front of her: a Spell, Trap, and a Monster in front of her.

"Through its effect, I must discard all cards in my hand. Then, I must guess what type of card is the top card of my deck. If I guess correctly, now only do I get to keep that card, but I also get to draw five extra cards. If not, I must send the top five cards of my Deck to the Graveyard and skip my next Draw Phase."

"Are you for real?" Gore asked with a mocking tone. "You're so desperate that you're willing to rely on the luck of all things to get out of this bind?"

"I wouldn't say so," Ringmaster said with a smile. "After all, that's one of the many factors that make duels so exhilarating. Plus—you should know that those who are strong enough determine their luck, Gore! Let's do this! I declare that my top card is a Spell Card! Draw!"

Upon checking out his drawn card—Ringmaster smirked and showed it to Gore.

"It looks like my gamble paid off," Ringmaster stated. "Since I guessed correctly, I get to draw five cards from my Deck!"

"Hmph, even so, this changes nothing." Gore snorted. "Merely drawing a few extra cards won't be enough to take me down."

"Interesting theory," Ringmaster said with a sly smile. "How about we put it to the test? "Now I play the Continuous Spell Card: Express Pendulum!" The card showed a train running on a track in what appeared to be outer space while the track was glowing like the Northern Light. Some Pendulum monsters with their heads out of the window on each passenger car on the train.

"By banishing two Pendulum cards from my hand or Extra Deck, I can treat this card to have two Pendulum Scales so that I can perform Pendulum Summon this turn!"

"Wait, what?!" Gore gasped. "With that effect, that means that you can…...!"

"Indeed I can. With this card, I can perform Pendulum Summoning even in a Speed Duel! I banish my Scale 1 Speedroid Ressa Kong and Scale 6 Speedroid Gacha Turtle!"

Ringmaster banished the two said monsters, causing the Express Pendulum to glow in a neon-colored aura, causing two pillars of light to appear. One was a mechanical Monster resembling a toy train with a gorilla's face in front of it and another resembling a mix between a toy-vending machine and a turtle rising to their tops. Then, two numbers, "1" on the left and "6" on the right, appeared above inside the pillars underneath the two monsters.

"Now, I can summon monsters from Levels 2 to 5 all at the same time." Suddenly, the pendulum appeared above the sky in-between the two pillars of light as it began swaying while Ringmaster began chanting. "Swing far, Pendulum! Carve the Arc of Victory! My monsters are ready to swing into action!"

Three beams of light erupted from the Pendulum portal, solidifying into the forms of monsters.

"Say hello to Speedroid Razorang!"

"Speedroid Karuta!"

"And Speedroid Hexasaucer!"

Appearing on Ringmaster's field was a monster with three blades attached to it, a monster that resembled a mechanical card body with arms, legs, and various symbols, and a monster that was a hexagon-shaped machine with six orbs surrounding it.

"Well, believe it when I tell you that I got more surprises in store for you," Ringmaster stated.

"I'm sure you do, but before that happens, Great Ogre's effect activates! All your monsters lose attack points equal to their DEF!"

"That won't stop me!" Ringmaster declared, pointing to the sky. ''Appear, the circuit that races the wind!''

A gust of wind built up over him and created a Link Portal., which he flew through. He hovered above it with Razorang and Karuta.

''Link Arrows authorized! The summoning conditions are two "Speedroid" monsters! I set Razorang and Karuta in the Link Arrows!'' Both monsters turn into green hurricanes, shooting onto the bottom-left and bottom-right Link Arrows.

The portal glows as Ringmaster and Yugo call forth chanting. ''Link the Circuit! Let your new wind guide the course of the world! Link 2! Hi-Speedroid Superpower Tidalfist!''

Shooting out of the portal was a large robot with crimson and green armor with two small arms extending from its left side and a thick mechanical arm with an oversized fist extending from its left side.

"Looks like Yugo also has access to Link Monsters as well," Zuzu noted.

"Marvelous!" the MC commentated. "After performing his amazing Pendulum Summon, Ringmaster made things even better by summoning a brand new Link Monster!"

"While summoning a Link Monster is nice and all, it's still strong enough to take out my two ogres," Gore stated.

"I've got plenty more moves to make, and one of them is summoning out Speedroid Ohajikid!"

A small robotic kid in a cowboy's outfit with a blue cape and hat appeared.

Speedroid Ohajikid ATK 1000→800 DEF 200 LVL: 3

"When Ohajikid successfully Normal Summoned, I can target a Tuner monster in any player's Graveyard, and Special Summon it to my field! Come back, Speedroid Karuta!

A portal appeared next to Ohajikid as Karuta emerged onto the field.

Speedroid Karuta ATK 500→200

Gore blinked in surprise before smirking. "A Tuner? That can only mean one thing."

"That's right! But instead of saying it, why don't I show it? Thanks to Ohajikid's effect, I can use it and Karuta to Synchro Summon!"

The world grayed out as green energy gathered around Ringmaster's D-Board before blasting upwards into the sky. Speedroid Karuta and Ohjikid disintegrated into data that reformed into two rings of two and three concentric circles. The rings turned blue and merged before reforming into five blue rings in a tower. A screen appeared that said "2 + 3" before changing to "5". Light surged through the rings.

"Overflowing with the pulse of life, the soul of the sword's dance! I Synchro Summon! Come out, Level 5! Hi-Speedroid Chanbara!" A humanoid monster holding two swords on a massive blade emerged from the light next to Tidalfist's left Link Arrow.

Gore blinked. "Synchro Summon? "So along with Pendulum, Fusion, and Link Summoning, you also know how to Synchro Summon? This duel just keeps getting better and better."

"And Ringmaster once again has amazed us all by performing another summoning method. This time Synchro!" The MC announced. "I can't even imagine what other tricks he could possess!"

"Synchro Summon or not, no monster is immune to The Great Ogre's effect!" Gore said. "Ogre Pressure!"

Hi-Speedroid Chanbara ATK 2000→1000

Ringmaster just smiled. "Since I used Karuta to Synchro Summon, I'm allowed to draw a card. Furthermore, Superpower Tidalfist's effect activates! Once per turn, if I summon a Synchro Monster, I'm allowed to Special Summon a Tuner monster from either my Deck, Hand, Graveyard, in exchange that's banished the next time it leaves the field. Return once again, Speedroid Karuta!"

A portal opened up, and coming out was Karuta.

Speedroid Karuta ATK 500→200

"Of course, you know what's coming next, right?" Ringmaster smirked. "I tune my Level 4 Hexasaucer with my Level 2 Karuta!"

The world greyed out once again as green energy surrounded Ringmaster as his two monsters disappeared into particles. The rings turned blue and merged before reforming into six blue rings in a tower. A screen appeared that said "2 + 4" before changing to "6". Light surged through the rings.

"With that ever-changing body of yours, soar across the boundless skies and surpass all enemies before you! I Synchro Summon! Appear now, Level 6! Hi-Speedroid Rubik Sky Fighter!"

A Monster resembling a fighter plane made out of a large number of small cubes appeared on Ringmaster's field.

"Two Synchro Monsters in one turn…." Gore remarked with narrowed eyes. "You are skilled, huh…?"

"Karuta's effect activates again, letting me draw a card." Ringmaster said, then gestured to Great Ogre. "I'll set one card face-down and have Rubik Sky Fighter attack Gouki The Great Ogre! At this point, Sky Fighter's effect activates! "If this card battles an opponent's monster while being in attack position, it can reduce its attack by an amount equal to the number of "Speedroid" monsters I control multiplied by 300 until the Battle Phase's end! Since I control three, your Great Ogre loses 900 ATK!"

Gouki The Great Ogre ATK 2600→1700

"Even so, my monster's still stronger than yours!" Gore stated.

"Which is why I'm activating Speedroid Motor Battery's effect from my hand!" Ringmaster exclaimed. "By discarding this card from my hand, one "Speedroid" monster I control gains 1000 ATK until the end of the turn!"

A spectral image of a car battery appeared in front of Sky Fighter before disappearing as a golden aura formed the Synchro Monster.

Hi-Speedroid Rubix Sky Fighter ATK 1200→2200

"Now Rubik is stronger than your Ogre. Go, Sky Fighter!"

"Not so fast! I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card: Mystik Wok!" Gore said. "By tributing a monster, I gain Life Points equal to that monster's attack points! I tribute Gouki Jet Ogre to gain 2000 Life Points!" Jet Ogre disintegrated into particles of light.

"If you're going to destroy my monster, I'm taking yours down with it."

"I don't think so. Since the monster I selected through Motor Battery's effect was a Synchro Monster, then it can't be destroyed until the end of the turn," Ringmaster pointed out.

"What?"

"Do it, Rubik Sky Fighter! Variable Hailstorm!"

The cubes in the front part of Sky Fighter rearranged themselves in the shape of twin cannons, unleashing two blasts that vaporized Great Ogre.

"Supertidal's third effect activates!" Ringmaster exclaimed. "When a Synchro Monster I control destroys in your monster in battle, you take damage equal to half of its ATK!"

"What?" Gore said again. "Such an effect…."

Tidalfist aimed its giant fist at Gore as it glowed blue and released an energy stream, striking him, causing him to wobble a bit on his D-Board.

"Since The Great Ogre is no longer on the field, both your Synchro Monster's attack points return to normal," Gore said.

Chanbara pierced Gouki Headbatt with its blade, destroying it.

Headbatt's effect activates!" Gore declared. "I can add a different "Gouki" card from my Deck to my hand. I add Gouki Clothesfly to my hand."

"That doesn't matter," Ringmaster muttered."First, thanks to Tidalfist's effect, you take damage equal to half of Headbatt's ATK!"

Tidalfist once again released a stream of energy towards Gore, striking him as he winced in pain.

Gore: 1300→900 LP

"I'm not done yet! Thanks to its effect, Chanbara can attack twice per Battle Phase! Attack him once more, Chanbara! And thanks to its effect, its attack increases by 100 once more!"

"I activate the effect of Gouki Clothesfly in my hand!" Gore declared. "If you attack me directly, I can Special Summon this monster from my hand and redirect your attack towards it!"

"Not only that, but Chanbara's attack won't destroy Clothesfly.

A blue barrier formed around Clothesfly as it shielded it from Chanbara's blades.

"Lucky for me, I still have one monster left," Ringmaster pointed out. "Superpower Tidalfist, attack Gouki Clothesfly!"

Tidalfist charged straight towards Clothesfly as it punched it with its giant fist, sending it flying as it burst into particles.

"Since Clothesfly left the field, I can use its effect to retrieve Gouki Moonsault to my hand," Gore said.

"I guess I'll end my turn here, which means Motor Battery's effect ends and Rubik's attack points return to normal.''

"Oh, what a turnaround!" the MC said. "It looked like Gore was losing but turned things around and gained the advantage, but now the situation is reversed, with Ringmaster having a field of monsters and with Gore having none! All he has to do is attack directly, and he'll win!"

"Ha!" Gore said. "Like I would end it this quickly. My turn! I draw! I'll start by summoning Gouki Suprex!''

"Jet Ogre? Why did you choose that monster instead of Great Ogre?" Ringmaster asked.

"I have my reasons," Gore answered. "Now, let's get it on again, my circuit!'' Gore called out as he pointed at the sky as the Link portal appeared in the sky. "The conditions are 2 "Gouki" monsters! I set Suprex and Moonsault on the Link Arrows!''

Gore called out as his two monsters turned into tornadoes, while Jet Ogre turned into two tornadoes and entered the top, bottom, and bottom left Link Arrows.

"Time to bring a new Gouki! I Link Summon! Link-3! Gouki The Blade Ogre!''

"Twistcobra's effect activates! I add a new "Gouki" card from my Deck to my hand, which I'll now play. I activate the Spell Card: Gouki Onslaught!" The card depicted Gouki The Great Ogre, Riscorpio, and Suprex all charging towards a herd of Ojamas. "By banishing a "Gouki" Link Monster from my Graveyard, I can destroy one card on your field, for every one of its Link Arrows!"

Ringmaster blinked. "What?"

"I banish Great Ogre to destroy your Tidalfist, Chanbara, and Pendulum Express!" The Spell Card glowed as it shot out three beams of energy at the selected cards.

"Since you activated an effect that targeted a card in my Spell & Trap Zone, I can activate my Trap Card: Card of Pandora!" Ringmaster declared. "This card forces your Spell to target instead, as well as letting me draw two cards!

One of the energy blasts changed directions and ended up destroying Card of Pandora instead of Pendulum Express.

Gore smirked. "Clever."

"If you think that was good, wait until you see this. When Chanbara is sent to the Graveyard, I'm allowed to add one banished "Speedroid" monster to my hand. I add back Speedroid Karuta."

"That won't make much of a difference. Battle! Go, Blade Ogre! Attack Hi-Speedroid Rubik Sky Fighter!'' Gore called out as Blade Ogre charged at the Synchro Monster.

"I won't let you!" Ringmaster shouted. "I activate Rubik Sky Fighter's effect! Once during either player's turn, I can change this card's battle position! I switch my Monster to defense position! And due to its effect, Rubik Sky Fighter cannot be destroyed by battle as long as it remains in defense position! Absolute Defense Formation!"

Several blocks detached themselves from Rubik Sky Fighter following Yugo's words, forming a shield that repelled Blade Ogre's attack.

"You may have saved your monster from Blade Ogre's attack, but you can't save it from this. I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card: Double Check, which destroys your Sky Fighter since I failed to destroy it in battle.

A blue lightning bolt emerged from the Spell as it struck the Speedroid, destroying it.

"Now that you don't have any monsters to protect you, my Gouki's free to attack and end this duel! Go, Blade Ogre!"

Blade Ogre charged again, this time at Ringmaster.

"At this moment, I activate the Pendulum Effect of Speedroid Ressha Kong." Ringmaster abruptly declared. "Once during my opponent's Main or Battle Phase, if my opponent controls more Monsters than I do, I can Pendulum Summon up to two "Speedroid" Monsters from my hand or Extra Deck. Incarnations of unrivaled speed! Dash across the highway of light drawn by the Pendulum and pierce through past and future! High-Speed Pendulum! A single beam of light erupted from the Pendulum portal, solidifying into the form of Hexasaucer upon landing on the field.

"High-Speed Pendulum…" Zuzu muttered. "So this is Yugo's answer on how to go beyond the Pendulum…."

"I can't believe you were able to perform a Pendulum Summon during my turn," Gore remarked. "However, that's good. It would be an awful performance if it ended so quickly. Since you now have Monsters, Blade Ogre will destroy your Hexasaucer!"

The ogre swung its sword and destroyed the Speedroid with great force.

"I end my turn. And now Jet Ogre and Tagpartner effects end."

Two beams of light erupted from the Pendulum portal, solidifying into the forms of Monsters upon landing on Ringmaster's field.

"From my hand, Speedroid Karuta!"

"And from my Extra Deck, Speedroid Hexasaucer!"

"Ringmaster has managed to replenish his field, but will it be enough?" The MC commentated.

"I end my turn," Ringmaster said.

Gore smiled. "You know, ever since I saw your duel against Seraph where you introduced your famous Pendulum Summon, I became of little jealous of you because I was afraid that my fans would like you more instead of me," he said.

"Well, believe me when I say that I don't duel strong duelists like you to take their fans, but to entertain them as well as you," Ringmaster replied.

"Glad to hear that, and I promise you that I'll do to entertain my fans and you, but much more. My turn! Draw!" Gore called out as he drew his card, his fighting spirit unbroken from the odds.

"I'll start by playing the Quick-Play Spell Card: Reload! It allows me to shuffle my hand back to my Deck and draw the same number of cards that I shuffled!"

Gore added Gouki Clothesfly back into his Deck as it then shuffled before placing two fingers on the top of it. With just one swipe, Gore drew a new card.

"Time to turn things around with this. I activate the Spell Card: Card of Reversal! Since I have no other cards on the field or in my hand, I can draw a card for each card you own on the field, Ringmaster! That's four!" Gore then drew out his four-card hand.

Is he going to summon the Great Ogre now? Ringmaster wondered. Or is he going for something else?

"Now, I activate the Equip Spell Card: Link Unit!" Gore declared. The card showed Gouki Suprex glowing with light. "I equip this card to Suprex! Now, if I use Suprex to Link Summon, it counts as two materials!"

"What?" Ringmaster said, surprised at such an effect.

"Come forth once again! My circuit!" Gore said, sending another burst of energy at the sky, creating the portal he flew through.

"Arrowheads confirmed! The summoning conditions are at least three "Gouki" monsters." Ringmaster's eyes widened. "I set Octostretch, Headbatt, and the Suprex treated as 2 in the Link Arrows!" His monsters entered the left, right, bottom-left, and bottom-right arrows. "Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Appear, Link-4! Gouki The Giant Ogre!"

The ogre that emerged from the portal had beige skin and wore fur-lined armor in his chest, shoulders, legs, and lower arms, exposing his stomach and upper arms. Violet spikes protruded from his shoulders and knees, and the mask over the top half of his face was lined with red spikes. The ogre's black cape fluttered in the wind as it appeared in the Extra Monster Zone.

Gouki The Giant Ogre ATK 3000 LINK-4 ←↙↘→

"Oh!" The MC shouted as everyone cheered. "Gore brought out a Link-4 monster! And with 3000 attack points!"

"Is this your strongest monster?" Ringmaster asked

"Yes, it is, and you'll enjoy it!" Gore said. "The effects of Octostretch, Headbatt, and Suprex activate! Since they were sent from the field to the Graveyard, I can add three new "Gouki" cards from my Deck to my hand!" He took the three cards out of his Deck and added them to his hand. "I activate the Equip Spell Card: Gouki Grit! This card lets me Special Summon a "Gouki" monster destroyed this turn and equips it with Grit. Resurrect, Bearhug!"

The bear-like man reappeared and roared in Attack Position.

Gouki Bearhug ATK 2400 DEF 0 LVL: 6

"Bearhug's effect activates! Since I Special Summoned it through the effect of a "Gouki" card, then one of your monster's attack points becomes equal to half its original attack points! I target Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!"

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK 5400→1500

Ringmaster grit his teeth in frustration. "Next, I activate the Continuous Spell Card: Gouki Shout!"

Go gestured to his field. "Battle! The Giant Ogre attacks your Crystal Wing! At this point, Gouki Shout's effect activates! When my "Gouki" monster attacks, it gains 300 attack points for every "Gouki" monster I control during the Damage Step!"

"What?" Ringmaster gasped in surprise.

Gouki The Great Ogre ATK 3000→3600

"The Giant Ogre's effect activates! Once per turn, if its attack points are different from its original attack points, I can increase its attack points by 1000 until the end of the turn!" The Giant Ogre pulled out a massive dark steel sword with a violet-and-red hilt.

Gouki The Giant Ogre ATK 3600→4600

"Go! Ogre Sword!" The Giant Ogre roared as it brought its sword down at the Synchro Dragon as it braced itself.

Ringmaster held his arm out. "I activate the Continuous Trap: Burning Sonic! This card negates one attack and raises Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's ATK by 500!" A stream of fire wrapped around and enveloped Crystal Wing's body, shielding it from the blast as soon as it connected.

Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK 1500→2000

"You may have stopped that attack, but you won't be able to stop Bearhug's."

"I won't need to," Ringmaster stated. "You see, if Crystal Wing battles a monster whose Level is five or higher, it'll gain attack points equal to the ATK of the battling monster."

"Is that so? Well, thank you for telling me that because I can activate this! I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card: Gouki Fusion!" The card depicted Gouki Suprex and Twistcobra swirling together in a multi-colored vortex.

"Fusion?" Ringmaster gasped.

"After seeing you use Fusion Summoning, that got me to thinking that I should upgrade my skills also, just in case I had to duel soon, which is now today."

"I see," Ringmaster said. "Alright, Gore, give me everything you got!"

"Don't worry, I intend to," Gore replied. "Using the effect of Gouki Fusion, I fuse Gouki The Giant Ogre with Gouki Bearhug!"

The two ogres broke into red and blue particles that swirled into a vortex before shooting upwards as tornados. The two tornados merged into a single violet twister.

"I Fusion Summon! Welcoming my new and powerful beast! Gouki Beatdown Ogre!"

A draconic ogre with red hair and two horns facing forward wore dark-blue armor all over his body with yellow outlines. He wore a cape that blazed with fire.

Gouki Beatdown Ogre ATK 2900 DEF 0 LVL: 8

"U-Unbelievable!" The MC cheered. "First, Ringmaster performed a Pendulum Synchro Summon, and now Go Onizuka has summoned a "Gouki" Fusion Monster!"

"Since I successfully Fusion Summoned Beatdown Ogre, it gains half the attack points of the Link Monster used to summon it. Giant Ogre had 4600 attack points, so Beatdown Ogre gains 2300 attack points!"

Gouki The Ascended Ogre ATK 2900→5200

"In addition, for the remainder of this turn, the monster I summoned through Gouki Fusion will be unaffected by all your card effects."

Ringmaster gasped at that. "So it's invincible now?"

"Exactly! Meaning there's nothing you can do to stop it," Gore pointed out as he turned to face Ringmaster. "This is my Finishing Hold! Battle! Gouki Beatdown Ogre, attack Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon! Bombarding Beatdown Barrage!"

Following Gore's words, Beatdown Ogre moved to attack Crystal Wing. "Gouki Shout's effect activates! Giving Beatdown an additional 300 ATK!"

Gouki Beatdown Ogre ATK 5200→5500

It's the end for you, Ringmaster!"

"Did you forget what I said earlier? Thanks to Crystal Wing's effect, whenever it battles a Level 5 or above monster, it gains its ATK!" Ringmaster reminded him.

"I didn't forget because thanks to Beatdown Ogre's second effect whenever it battles a monster, that monster's effects are negated."

"What!?"

"Continue your assault, Beatdown Ogre!" Gore declared.

"Luckily, I have other tricks up my sleeve!" Ringmaster exclaimed. "I activate the effect of Bendomino in my Graveyard! During my opponent's Battle Phase, I can banish it to switch the battle positions of all Monsters on my field!"

Following Ringmaster's words, Beatdown Ogre released a flurry of punches at Crystal Wing, hammering it hard. However, Ringmaster received no damage due to Crystal Wing switching to defense mode.

"Thank God Yuya was able to survive that attack," Zuzu said.

Go smiled. "It's time for the climax!" He declared. "Beatdown Ogre's additional effect activates! When it destroys your monster in battle, you take damage equal to your monster's defense points!"

"What?!" Ringmaster, Zuzu, the MC, and the crowd all gasped on realizing just what Gore's plan had been.

"This is the end for you!" Beatdown Ogre charged towards Ringmaster as its right fist glowed red and released a pulse of energy at him.

"I activate the Trap Card: Deflect Draw!" It showed an image of several Harpie Lady's using their wings to blow away Hintoma fireballs. Not only does it reduce the damage to 0, but I can also draw a card as well."

Gouki Beatdown Ogre: 5500→5200

Gore frowned and pouted a little bit as he couldn't finish it with Beatdown Ogre's effect. He then sighed and smiled. "Very impressive, Ringmaster," he said. "You are both a great duelist and opponent."

"Gore…" Yuya could not help but smile. "Thank you. For someone so intimidating, you're a pretty good guy!"

Gore smirked. "Don't get ahead of yourself! You survived the turn, but there's only so much you can do before your luck runs out! Before I end my turn, I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card: Emergency Provisions! By sending my Spell Card, Gouki Shout to the Graveyard, I gain 1000 Life Points for each one sent!"

Gore: 300→1300 LP

Zuzu nodded. "Hate to admit it, but that was a smart move. You only have 600 Life Points left, Yuya. Are you sure you can win this?"

Ringmaster looked at the cards. "To be honest, I'm not sure," he said. "But I'm hoping this next draw will change all that."

"Ringmaster has 600 Life Points left with no monsters on his field! Gouki Beatdown Ogre has 5200 attack points and can negate the monster. It battles effects and deals damage equal to its DEF when it destroys it through battle! This next draw will determine the ending of the duel!" The MC announced.

"With that, I end my turn. Also, there's one more thing I should mention. If Gouki Beatdown Ogre would be destroyed by battle or an effect, I can banish a "Gouki" Link Monster from my Graveyard to negate its destruction." Gore said. "So go ahead, Ringmaster! Strike as hard as you can and reach my heart!"

"I'll be more than happy to. My turn! Draw!" He looked at his drawn card and smiled. "I'm having fun, Gore!'' Ringmaster told his opponent, who smiled.

"That makes two of us, and I'm gonna settle this intense duel on my next turn''. Gore replied, having enjoyed this Duel as well.

"We'll see about that! Since you showed me your full power, I'll return the favor!" Ringmaster declared. "First, I'll activate the Spell Card: Monster Reincarnation, which lets me add a monster from my Graveyard to my hand by discarding a card. I discard Speedroid Kaleido Mirror to return Clear Wing Synchro Dragon to my Extra Deck!"

"What good will that do?" Gore asked.

"I'll show you," Ringmaster said. "Ladies and gentlemen! Things certainly seem grim for me. Gore has a strong Fusion Monster on his field while I'm currently defenseless. However, that's going to change quickly. With the set Pendulum Scale, I Pendulum Summon!" A portal opened up and released two lights onto the field.

"Returning straight from my Extra Deck is Speedroid Hexasaucer!"

"And joining him is its good friend, Performapal Speedroid Portaplay!"

Appearing on Ringmaster's field was Hexasaucer, along with a new monster who looked like a game boy with hands, feet, a top hat, and a mustache.

"A Performapal and a Speedroid?" Gore said, surprised.

"Guess Yugo just couldn't leave it to just Yuya." Zuzu chuckled. "Show Gore what you're made of, you two."

I activate Kaleido Mirror's effect from my Graveyard!" Ringmaster announced as he held out the card, "By banishing this card, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "Speedroid" from my Deck with its effects negated! Come, Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice!"

A purple pyramid with eyes on each side and electrodes at its points appeared.

I now tune the Level 3 Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice with the Level 4 Speedroid Hexasaucer!" A bolt of green lightning struck Ringmaster as the world greyed out, and his two monsters disappeared into particles. Two rings, one purple and one silver, appeared before turning blue and merging. Seven blue rings stacked in a tower appeared, a screen displaying "3 + 4" in front of them. The screen changed to "7" as light surged through the rings.

"Beat your wings to whip up a whirlwind of destruction!" Ringmaster chanted. "I Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

The white and black dragon covered in white, blue, and black armor reappeared on Ringmaster's field in the right Extra Monster Zone.

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 2500 DEF: 2000 LV: 7

"Just because you brought out your dragon doesn't mean it's strong enough to take down my ogre," Gore stated.

"It will be soon," Ringmaster said, confusing Gore. "I now activate the effect of Portaplay! If I have monsters in my Pendulum Zone, I can lower its Level by that monster's level. Since my Gacha Turtle is Level three, I lower Portaplay's Level from four to one."

Portaplay then inserted a code into his system, lowering his level.

Performapal Speedroid Portaplay LVL: 4→1

"Prepare to feel my full power!" Both Ringmaster and Yugo yelled. "I tune my Level 1 Performapal Speedroid Portaplay with my Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

As a bolt of green lighting struck Ringmaster again, and the world greyed out, both Portaplay and Clear Wing disappeared into particles of data. Two rings, one red and one white, appeared before turning blue and merging. Seven blue rings stacked in a tower appeared, a screen displaying "1 + 7" in front of them. The screen changed to "8" as light surged through the rings.

"Dragon with dual-colored eyes! Gain the shining wings of light and soar to the summit of supremacy! I Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 8! The shining dragon with piercing eyes, Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon

A dragon with dichromatic eyes clad in white armor reminiscent of Clear Wing's, which had two wings protruding from its back and several mirrors attached to its body, appeared on Yuya's field while letting out a resonant roar.

"A Synchro Pendulum monster...!" Gore said as he narrowed his eyes towards the dragon.

"That's must be one of the hybrid Monsters Yuya used against Declan," Zuzu remarked while smirking. "Looks like he's decided to go all out against Gore."

"This is the power of Pendulum combined with Synchro!" Ringmaster declared with a smile.

"A-Amazing! With an amazing combo, Ringmaster managed to bring out a majestic-looking Pendulum Synchro dragon!" The MC shouted.

"Alright! You brought out our dragon!" Yugo cheered.

"Though that is an impressive-looking dragon, it doesn't come close to matching the power of my monster!" Gore yelled.

"I wouldn't talk so soon if I were you," Ringmaster smirked before he pointed at his dragon. "Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon's effect activates! Once per turn, by targeting a monster on your field, the target has its effects negated as long as this card is on the field! Go, Shining Supremacy!"

The dragon flew forward and shot a powerful blue binding light from its crystals at the ogre.

"Now that Beatdown Ogre lost its special abilities, Gore can't use its effect to save it from destruction, meaning Yuya can destroy it now!" Zuzu realized.

"Since Beatdown Ogre lost its effects, its attack points return to normal," Gore pointed out.

Gouki Beatdown Ogre ATK 5200→2900

"But even if you destroy my monster, I'll still have plenty of Life Points left."

"My performance isn't over just yet, Gore! Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon's other effect activates! Once per turn, I can target a monster on my opponent's field, and all monsters on my opponent's field are destroyed! Reverse Reflection!"

Following Zarc's words, light waves erupted from the mirrors attached to Wing Dragon's body and struck Beatdown Ogre, destroying it.

Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon ATK 3000→5900

"I-It has over 5000 attack points!" Gore shouted.

"Battle! Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon attacks you directly! Spiral Tempest Strike!"

Destroy Ogre charged the sitting warlord, its right fist encased in energy.

Wing Dragon's crystal began glowing brightly, causing the dragon to be surrounded by bright blue energy. The dragon whirled as it flew up in the air and then dove at higher speeds at Gore and caused a huge explosion as it rammed the duelist's head. Gore shouted as he fell off his D-Board and landed on a nearby rooftop.

"T-The match is over!" the MC commented. "A nigh impossible comeback in Charisma Duelist Gore vs. Ringmaster's match! The rookie Ringmaster defeated Gore! Just like Playmaker before him! What match is next? Ringmaster vs. Playmaker?"

"I lost," Gore said. "But that duel was just as fun as the one I had with Playmaker a long time ago, if not better." He stood up right away, looking unharmed, even though he was flung off a Duel Board moments earlier due to an explosion.

"I have heard of this Playmaker guy, and even though I have never seen him duel, I'm pretty sure he was an amazing duelist," Ringmaster said, "But still your dueling tactics were very impressive. I guess that's why you're part of the Top 3 in LINK VRAINS."

"Guess so, Ringmaster," Gore said. The two of them shared a laugh before their attention shifted towards the audience, who was clapping for them.

Gore glanced at the audience around them. The crowd was cheering and jumping up and down with excitement for him and Ringmaster, win or lose. But now, seeing everyone gathered like this, Gore realized that, in fact, he still had a lot to learn. Ringmaster, the boy in front of him who lost against him, was a superior entertainer than him. His entertainment has given smiles and courage to everyone. It also includes both of their monsters and Gore himself. Understanding through dueling and making the duel enjoyable for both of them and their monsters…that never occurred in Gore's mind until now.

"It's time for me to leave." Phantom held onto the fence, ready to jump to his D-Board. He halted to turn back to Gore, who was still standing behind him. He smiled confidently at him. "Next time, I won't lose! I still have a lot of ways to entertain you!"

Gore was silent for a second before returning Phantom's declaration with his own.

"Bring it on! I'll take you on and defeat you again!" Gore replied, offering a distant fist bump to the Pendulum user who returned it before jumping onto his D-Board, disappearing from everyone's view.

"I wonder if there are lots of Duelists like him out there…."

Gore wondered as he logged out, leaving LINK VRAINS with a renewed resolve and expectation. He was looking forward to meeting more with people from another dimension.

Kolter's Room…

Yuya opened his eyes. He was back in the sealed room in Kolter's apartment. He was so tired but satisfied at the same time by the duel that he didn't want to log out right away. He leaned on the wall, relaxing. His body was still trembling from the fun sensation he had in the duel. The duel was so much fun. The most fun he has in a while. He felt so great. He wanted to do that duel again sometimes, somehow. It would be much more fun once he got used to Speed Dueling.

He walked out of the room and saw Zuzu at the computers. "Did you have fun dueling Gore?" she asked him.

"The most fun I ever had ever since I came to this dimension," Yuya replied. "Again, I'm sorry for not listening to you and for going inside. LINK VRAINS."

"It's ok. Not only did you entertain everyone watching your duel, but Gore as well," Zuzu said.

"Well, I'm glad because we should get close to him and the others if we want them to join our side," Yuya pointed out.

"Maybe you're right," Zuzu admitted. We need all the help we can get, and maybe dueling is the best way to get it.

"Exactly! After all, my dad says the best way to get through to someone's heart is through dueling," Yuya stated. "But we can talk more about this later because I need to rest up before we head out to help out at the orphanage again."

"Go ahead. I was just about to make breakfast. So while I'm doing that, you can take a little nap," Zuzu said as she and Yuya left Kolter's room.

Elsewhere, in LINK VRAINS...

An unknown figure was looking at a large that showed a clip of Ringmaster's latest duel against Gore as the figure mostly paid more attention towards Gore than Ringmaster.

"Even though you lost against Ringmaster today, Gore, your true loss will be at the hands of me," The figure said. "Soon, I'll have my revenge against you for stealing my title."

And that's Chapter 13, everybody. As you know, bold cards are OC's. Credit to DivadX for creating the design for Beatdown Ogre and giving me the idea to include Speedroid Pendulums in this chapter. Credit to SakushiRyu for creating the design for Gouki Clothesfly. Credit to Dvdryms for letting me use Speedroid Pendulums. As always, favorite follow and review, and don't be afraid to send me a PM.

Also, to Guest review, who says the Blue Maiden is Blue Angel, she's Blue Maiden that even though she went back to Blue Angel at the end of VRAINS, I decided to let her keep the Marincess Deck because it represents her bond with Aqua and Miyu. She decided to hand her old Trickstar Deck to Miyu like Gore did when he handed his Gouki Deck to those two bounty hunter guys. DuelMonkey, I plan on having Gravity Dragon show up after the next chapter.
