Hopefully you guys enjoyed the rewrite! And thanks for 120 follows! Sorry for taking so long on this chapter, I've been reading reviews as they come in and adjusting as I go.
goshenkachugunov.98 & TheCarcassKing: Thank you for the reviews! I love seeing others enjoy my writing, as beginner-level it may seem. I do have plans for Izuku and his cursed energy, so stay tuned for that. Gaining Six Eyes will not be the end of his growth. I won't abandon this fic, but sometimes updates may be slow.
DCosmicSage38: Thank you for the review! I don't plan on giving Izuku OFA, nor will I make Izuku instantly master all of Limitless as soon as he gains Six Eyes. Ruins the plot and turns the story into your cliche overpowered protagonist (that will most likely have no character development). Izuku will be overpowered (he has Gojo's powers, why would he NOT be OP?), but not instantly.
Whyisitspicy1: Thank you for the suggestion! Looking at it in retrospect, it does look awkward amongst the other honorifics and such. It'll be changed to something more familiar.
Guest: I don't necessarily plan on making Izuku good at using a certain type, and relatively novice at the other. He has experienced all different kinds of emotions throughout his life due to his quirkless status. Of course, he will be a novice at using cursed energy/techniques at the start, but he will get more powerful as he trains and uses techniques more often (not to mention, Six Eyes massively speeds up the user's brain processing power, so when he gains SE, it will only become easier for him).
Midoriya Residence
"Mom."
"Yes, Izuku?" Inko looked up at her son.
Izuku shifted in place uncomfortably. "I have to tell you something."
"What is it?" Inko could tell this was important, judging by the way her son's eyes glimmered and the way he fidgeted his hands together.
"I have a quirk."
THUMP!
"MOM?! MOM! ARE YOU OK?!" Izuku rushed towards his mom's fallen body.
Aside from the initial faint, his mom had taken it quite well.
Shortly after she woke, they sat down in the dining room, with a meal of katsudon prepared, Izuku's favorite.
"So... you have a quirk?" Inko speared a piece of egg with her fork.
"Yes." Izuku munched on a pork cutlet.
"And you want to go to Takoba Beach?"
"Yes."
"To train to become a hero?"
"Yes."
"And you're going to train to get into U.A, one of the top hero schools in the world."
"Yes."
Inko sighed. She remembered how it was his dream to become a hero, ever since he was a little baby. Even after his diagnosis as quirkless, he never gave up. Every day, he came home with new bruises and injuries, which he had simply brushed off as "accidents". Izuku wasn't a good liar, and Inko saw right through them.
She nearly fainted the first time she saw a burn mark peeking through the edge of his uniform's sleeve.
Sadly, she couldn't do anything about it. Every time she went to the school and talked to the staff, they had given the same excuse Izuku did, that he had gotten his injuries through horseplay and minor accidents.
But now... Izuku has a quirk. Inko had heard of late bloomers, but not at her son's age. Maybe he was a special case.
She had seen his eyes as he looked explained his quirk, shining when they would normally be dull. Inko knew he was serious about this.
She'd do the right thing this time.
Meanwhile, Izuku shifted in his seat, watching his mother. As he ate, he observed her going through what seemed to be internal turmoil.
She's probably coming to terms with the fact you have a quirk. Or maybe she's already coming to a decision.
I hope she'll be reasonable.
Inko trembled a little, then stilled. She let out a small breath.
"Okay."
"Okay?" Izuku tilted his head.
Inko sighed, good-naturedly this time. "It's always been your dream, hasn't it? I don't see why I shouldn't support you..."
Izuku's eyes glimmered, and he bent his head down.
"Mom..."
Que the younger Midoriya waterworks.
"Izuku..."
Que the older Midoriya waterworks.
Takobah Beach
"Normally, I'd train you like any other student, but you're a special case, Midoriya-kun. You possess my techniques, so although you currently don't have access to Six Eyes, you are able to use Limitless. However, Limitless is a draining technique without Six Eyes. So we need to start off with training your cursed energy." Gojo sat on the same car he had sat on yesterday.
"So do I just do the same thing again?" Izuku asked.
"Yup! But this time, we're going to train your physical body as well! Which is why you're going to clean this whole beach!"
"Eh?"
"It'll be a great way to train your body while using cursed energy. Cursed energy can amplify your strength, but increasing your base strength will also increase the effectiveness of imbuing cursed energy into your body. Think of it like a multiplier. 10% times two is 20%, but 12% times two is 24%! It may not seem like a big change, but it's 20% more than if it were 10%. Not to mention, cursed energy is exponential, not linear. Using more cursed energy will be more draining, but the multiplier will increase drastically."
Izuku nodded. He found it slightly easier to manifest the energy this time, although it was still draining.
"Good! Now try imbuing your body with cursed energy. Think of it like a hot bath. The water wraps around you and the heat seeps into your bones." Gojo suggested. Izuku nodded again, and began what he called his "Rage Trance".
It was simple, really. Izuku's Rage Trance was based on using his anger to manifest cursed energy. All Izuku did was copy the actions he did yesterday, thinking about all of the wrongs he had experienced. The way society revolved around power, and shunned those without it. When he heard the familiar whoosh in his hands, he imagined the balls of energy spreading across his body. He didn't imagine the balls replicating, no, he wasn't ready enough for that.
He imagined them thinning out, slowly covering his body. The hot bath that Gojo suggested worked well. The energy flowed across him, absorbing into his skin, his bones, his soul.
Izuku opened his eyes to Gojo grinning in his face.
"Man, you're a real prodigy! Did it first try!" Gojo examined him closely.
Not bad for a total novice... a 10% multiplier right off the bat.
Izuku looked at himself in wonder. Although he couldn't see the energy, he could feel it. Brimming underneath his skin, ready to be used at a moment's notice.
Amazing... is this the power... of cursed energy?
"It is! And it'll only get stronger with time. Not to mention, with Six Eyes, you can use cursed energy with almost no effort!"
"Amazing!"
"Now, lift that fridge! This beach will be clean before the entrance exams!"
"Eh?"
"You heard what I said!"
"Yes Gojo-sensei!" And with that, Izuku got to work.
Sorry if it's a bit short, but I'm splitting this into 2 parts (which will allow me to take in reviews and rewrite/adjust accordingly). This is sort of a filler chapter in which I reply to some reviews (which are very useful, thank you all!), but it will set things up for the future. This is NOT the end of the training arc, so don't fret.
