Apologies for the lazy writing, I did not really describe everything in quality. I also did poorly with the personalities, I will be doing my best and remember to describe every little thing to give the best image possible for the reader and revise the personalities of the characters because they were far to flat and boring. Also, sorry for the long period of not uploading any new chapters, I just really did not feel like writing at all. Again, if I am making mistakes and mess up somewhere, please leave a review and tell me where! I really want to make this high quality.
Mild language warning, there isn't much
10 years later
Izuku was on his way to school, passing graffiti soaked walls and giant concrete and glass towers of the city. Walking on the sidewalk of a major road, he looks up, responding to a gathering commotion. A giant villain was on the overpass! He was screaming and yelling, trying to act intimidating. The effect was lost on the gathering crowd and Izuku. Izuku bolted up to the back of the crowd, slowly pushing through until he was at the front.
"That is one big supervillain!" Izuku exclaimed, notebook in his hand, beginning to write rapidly.
Suddenly the villain knocked over a metal tower, it heading directly for the gathered crowd of civilians. There were some screams of fear before a man skidded in, right underneath the tower, catching it in his hands. He had a dark cyan vest with dark blue jeans and black boots with square toes. He had some sort of metal wrist cuffs connected to the sleeves of his vest. He had a head band and grey hair. His face was a bit goofy, he looked like he has taken some hits to the face and had a square jaw.
"Its Death Arms the punching hero!" Izuku half shouted, now writing about Death Arms in his notebook.
"I wish I had a quirk that made me super strong!" A civilian shouted.
From the street another hero popped into Izuku's line of sight.
"Its the rescue specialist Backdraft!" A civilian towards the front shouted, she was completely fangirling over the hero, spewing facts faster than a machine gun, her words however, were lost in the chaos of the crowd's shouting.
"This area is dangerous. Please stay back!" Backdraft said, he was in a firefighter's uniform, his hands seemed to be fire hoses and his face covered by a mask of some sort. Water shot out his hand hoses, wrapping around a streetlamp, solidifying into a band keeping civilians at bay and out of the fray. It had circles at even intervals with Xs in said circles and occasionally a drop of water fell from the water barrier.
"He must be desperate to go full-monster in the middle of the city, do you know what happened?" A citizen said behind Izuku, questioning to a civilian just next to him.
"Some amateur, stole someones' bag and got himself cornered." Another citizen replied, very excited at the action.
Another civilian chimed in, "A quirk like that and he is a petty thief?" Seemingly disappointed in the villain on top of the over pass.
After a few minutes of the heroes containing the villain, another hero swung in on a wood vine...connected to his arm? Izuku took a moment to recognize the hero, he was fairly new, but was picking up traction fast. It was Kamui Woods!
Behind him, Izuku heard some teenage girls screaming, "AAAAAH! ITS KAMUI WOODS! WE ARE YOUR BIGGEST FANS!"
Kamui Woods swung towards the massive villain, narrowly avoiding the villain's strikes with the grace of a ballerina. Every now and then he went into the villain's guard, smacking his torso with a wood vine from his arm or punching him.
"RAAHH! GET AWAY FROM ME! I'LL BREAK YOU TWIG!" The giant man shouted, his voice booming over the crowd and heroes.
Kamui was perfectly calm, still baiting out attacks from the villain.
"AH! This is going to be good!" Izuku said to no one in particular while grinning ear to ear, writing so fast it came out as scratches on the page in some places.
"One look at that dopey grin and I know what you are. A fanboy!" A civilian next to him said to Izuku. The man in question looked middle aged and was bald with some shaped on stalks of flesh branching off of his head.
"Oh, well...uhh..." Izuku said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
The fight between the giant villain hadn't let up, in fact, it had gotten even more intense. Each fighter giving their all.
"Assualt, robbery, illegal use of powers during rush hour traffic. You are the very definition of evil." Kamui said to the villain.
The villain roared in anger as he took a swipe at Kamui. Kamui however, had other ideas. He launched backwards, perching on the exposed train tunnel on the overpass. He stood slowly and raised his left arm. It started branching out in, well, branches. They snaked toward the villain slower than honey, as if he was winding up for an ultimate attack.
Izuku turned his attention back to the fight, now pointing at the hero preparing an attack.
"There, Kamui's special attack!" Izuku said to the man to his right. The man he was speaking to chuckled as if he was watching a toddler do something funny.
The man Izuku was talking to raised his hands to his mouth, cupping his mouth and shouting, "COME ON TREE MAN! SHOW US SOMETHING FLASHY!"
Izuku and Kamui Woods coincidentally spoke in unison.
"The Preemtive-" Kamui's arm branches picking up pace just a bit.
"Binding-" Izuku was raising his arms in the air.
"LACQUERED CHAIN PRISON!" Izuku yelled with Izuku.
The branches raced at the villain. Just as they started to wrap around the man Kamui heard a feminine voice, as did the crowd.
"CANYON CANNON!" The woman boomed as she ran up behind the crowd, easily 20 meters tall. She jumped over the crowd and turned to be horizontal. Her arms were back behind her head as she put her left leg straight and tucked her right. Her foot connected with the villain's head, being instantly knocked out, everyone being frozen in shock.
She and the villain flew over the overpass, the villain sliding across the road harshly and Mt. Lady landing gracefully. Kamui watched in a shocked confusion as reporters and paparazzi gathered taking picturing and explaining the situation for their respective news channels.
Mt. Lady stood straight up grabbing the villain's wrist and turned her head towards the reporters and paparazzi, leaning down and curving her back to show off her developed rear. The paparazzi gathered, and muttered "Money shot. Money shot. Money shot." Over and over again as they took many photos of the new heroine.
"Piece of cake for the next world hottest hero. Hi there everyone. I'm Mt. Lady and you don't have to worry about this bum anymore!" Mt. Lady said in a flirty and playful voice, as she did she leaned down a little more and bounced on her heels to produce a small jiggle in her rear.
More reporters and paparazzi gathered, taking photos with a little drool in their mouths as they muttered, "Money shot. Money shot. Money shot."
"Sh-she's getting all the credit?!" Kamui said, now looking dejected.
The crowd had snapped out of their stupor and was cheering wildly. Many of the men in the crowd staring at Mt. Lady's rear. Izuku however, scowled in concentration as he sketched the new hero.
The man he was talking to earlier had stopped looking at Mt. Lady and peered over to Izuku's notebook.
"Gigantification. She looks like she'll be popular, and it's an amazing quirk, but thinking about the damage to the city that'll be a bad side effect, its use might be limited? Maybe if she can control the size..." Izuku was speaking his thoughts quietly but the man next to him was listening.
"Ah! You want to be a hero, fanboy?" The man questioned, poking a little fun at Izuku with the nickname.
"Yes! More than anything!" Izuku answered, looking up at the man.
At Aldera Junior High
The classroom had a light shade of green walls with a chalk board in the back. The sunlight streamed in through the uncovered windows on the left wall. The right wall had some support pillars and two sliding doors on the left and right most sides of the wall.
"As third years student, it's time to think about your futures and what you want to do. I could pass out your career aptitude test but why bother? We all know you all want to go to the hero course!" The teacher said as he threw the tests into the air. The students began showing off their quirks, one boy with hands turning into rock, another boy just to the left being absolutely built. Another boy in the right most column having incredibly long fingers.
"Yes. Yes! You all have amazing quirks! But no power use in class!" The teacher said, he meant to be scolding but he was also in a jolly mood.
He was a middle aged man who seemed to be quite shifty and had golden blond hair that looked greasy.
Izuku however, had become ramrod straight in his chair, being a bit annoyed by the sudden bragging of the classroom.
Bakugou, Izuku's old childhood friend was just in front of the buff boy to his left. He right arm was hanging over the back of his chair with his feet crossed on top of his desk. He looked down at his lap, his face covered by the shadow of his hair. He was also not celebrating.
"Hey teach! Don't lump me in with all these losers. I'm the real deal but these guys will be lucky to be the sidekick to some busted D lister. Ha!" Bakugou said, his voice becoming louder as he went on.. Bakugou had messy blond hair and dark red eyes, he seemed to always have a serious or angry expression on his face, he was just a few inches taller than Izuku. He had also now raised his head to look around the classroom.
The class began yelling in outrage. "YOU THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN US KATSUKI?!"
"Let's go! I'll take you all on." Bakugou said.
The teacher had a bored look on his face as he looked down at his clipboard. "Says right here you want to go to U.A Bakugou."
The class had backed off, now muttering among themselves.
"He's applying for the national school?" A student said.
"That school has a 2% acceptance rate!" Another said.
"It's impossible to get into." A third said.
"That is exactly why it's the only place worthy of me. I aced all the mock test, I'm the only one at this school who stands a chance of getting in. I'll end up more popular than All Might himself and be the richest hero of all time. the people all across the world will know who I am and it all starts with UA High!" Bakugou exclaimed, now standing on his desk, the class staring and muttering still.
Bakugou was about to go on another rant before the teacher cut in.
"Oh yeah, you want to go to U.A too, right Midoriya?" The teacher said.
Izuku's eyes scanned his classmates, they were looking at him in slight fear. Izuku only caught little slivers of what they were saying.
"Scary power.." One was saying to his classmate.
"Villain quirk..." Another said.
Izuku remained silent, now focusing on Bakugou, waiting for him to explode, quite literally.
Bakugou had turned around and walked over to Izuku's desk and firmly planted his hand on Izuku's desk and made an explosion, Izuku's desk had a soot mark and the boy had scooted his chair backwards a bit to avoid getting dirty, wincing a bit as well.
"Listen up Deku! Don't even think of applying to U.A! They won't want the weak power of some wannabe! You think they would let someone like you in when they could have me?!" Bakugou growled in Izuku's face.
"You can't stop my Kacchan." Izuku said, his voice firm, staring into Bakugou's eyes.
Where was this confidence coming from?! This is suicide! Izuku thought to himself.
"You'll die in the exams Deku. This school is already crappy, do you want to embarrass it even more by failing so hard?" Bakugou knew Izuku's quirk was amazing, and Izuku did too. Bakugou was trying to belittle him to prevent him from joining.
Somewhere else in the city
A woman's scream pierced the air as a man ran out of his shop, "THIEF!" He shouted as he shook his fist in the air. A villain made of disgusting sludge had just robbed a store, he was carrying bags of money in his sludge body. He was...sliding? He was sliding down the sidewalk, bills of money and bits of sludge flying off of him.
The man who had shouted earlier was clearly the shop keep. "SOMEONE STOP THAT THING!" He yelled out into the street, hoping a hero would respond, or hell, he would settle for a Good Samaritan.
"HAHAHAHA! Sucker! Yell all you want, no one is going to stop me!" The sludge villain shouted down the road at the shop keep.
"Where are all the heroes?" A man asked.
"It's pretty strange. Normally a hero would swoop in immediately and take this guy out. Maybe they are still busy from this morning?" The next man said, answering the first.
"Remember when we didn't have to worry about randos with quirks all the time?" A third man said.
"Seriously, nothing is stopping him." The second man said, now more concerned.
A deathly skinny man with light golden yellow hair walked out the door, his body grew until he was 7'2 and muscle bound. "Yes there is."
The group of people turned to the golden haired man. "ALL MIGHT?!"
All Might put on his famous smile. "Want to know why?"
"HUH?!"
"BECAUSE I AM HERE!" All Might answered.
The sludge villain looked behind him, his eyes widening. He panicked at the sight of the number one hero and dived into a sewer, ripping the cover off.
All Might shot down the street and entered the sewers in pursuit.
Back at Aldera Junior High
The day had ended and the other students were packing up and leaving.
"We should go out for karaoke!" A girl said to a boy.
"Yeah, totally! Let's go." The boy responded. The pair walked close together looking very bland and unremarkable.
Izuku looked back at his phone. He was sitting to the right in his chair and leaning on his legs with his elbows on his knees, reading about the most recent villain attack this morning, "Woah, the incident from this morning is everywhere. I should write some notes down before I forget." Izuku said, reaching into his yellow backpack and pulled out a notebook with a white cover and blue spine. It was entitled "Hero Analysis for The Future" on three lines in untidy scrawl.
Izuku had gone to put the book down of his desk right as Bakugou appeared in his vision. The boy grabbed the notebook and held it upside down in his right hand with his index finger on the spine, his elbow resting on his hip bone as he scoffed at Izuku.
"I don't know what you think you are doing Deku, but we aren't done." Bakugou said.
Bakugou's lackeys appeared behind him. The boy with long fingers asked Bakugou, "What do you got there? His diary?"
Bakugou raised it over his head a bit to show it to the boy behind him. The boy boy to the left of Bakugou squinted at the poor upside down writing. " ' Hero Analysis for The Future '? Don't tell me you're taking notes on how to be a hero!" The boy remarked.
Izuku slightly reached out for the notebook as Bakugou put his arm down in front of him. "That is pathetic." The first boy said.
"Haha. He is completely delusional." The second boy said.
"Yeah, you three are real funny, now please give me the notebook Kacchan." Izuku said, not taking his eyes off of it.
Izuku watched silently as Bakugou made an explosion in his right hand, scorching the book.
Izuku breathed in, trying to remain calm.
Izuku then watched as Bakugou tossed it through the open classroom window.
Izuku drew a large breath in, doing his absolute best.
"Most first string heroes show potential early. People just have one look at them and know they are destined for greatness. When I'm the only student from this garbage junior high to get into U.A, people will start talking about me like that. They'll realize I'm legit. That's my ego talking, but I am sure I am great." Bakugou said.
Izuku looked closer at his lackeys. The boy on Bakugou's left was the boy with the long fingers quirk. He had mildly dark skin, messy long brown hair and had a lazy smile most of the time. He was very lanky. Looking at the boy on Bakugou's right, he was the short, fat boy with the bat wings quirk.
Izuku decided he likely was not going to escape this without some sort of harm, so he decided if he was going to mess this situation up, might as well go all the way.
"Yeah, laugh it up, just leave me alone." Izuku said, standing up after he had just zipped up his backpack. He pushed past Bakugou and the boy with the long fingers quirk, bumping shoulders with both. The trio watched in shock, only recently had Izuku been so ballsy that he had just flat out ignored them and even talked back.
Bakugou then snapped out of his thoughts. "GET BACK HERE YOU DAMN DEKU!" He yelled but Izuku had just walked out of the room, so the trio simply left for the day, devising how to get back at Izuku tomorrow.
Izuku had walked down to the side of the school to the Koi fish pond that the school kept for decor. He noticed his singed notebook floating in the water, lucky that the pages were quite firm and he used high quality ink, so it should be mostly okay. He reached his hand down into the pond and grabbed the book, swinging his backpack infront of him from his shoulder and shoved it roughly in and zipped the bag up and placed it back on his shoulder, continuing out the front gates of the school.
Out on the main road from this morning.
Izuku had been staring down at the sidewalk as he made his way home. He had seen the still active sirens of the police by the overpass from this morning and just let his feet guide him to a different way home that was a bit longer than usual. He made his way under a bridge, he was walking through some sort of drainage area for rain. There was a manhole just to his right he noticed as he walked by.
The underside of the bridge was fairly dark and a bit damp. He seemed to be walking through a concrete tunnel. Damn Kacchan, I had notes from this morning's incident, you bastard, you burned it! Izuku thought bitterly. Just as he was beginning to think of how he could dry the notes fastest and transfer them if they were too damaged for full repair he smelled something. Something like sewage...but not quite.
Izuku stopped in place, looking around for the source of that repulsive stench. After a few seconds he shrugged, not even taking a step before he heard the manhole cover behind him burst up into the air, he also heard a loud CLAAAANG as the metal reverberated as it smacked against the concrete in the top of the tunnel.
"Wha-?" Izuku muttered as a dark green sludge poured out of the manhole, he now knew what reeked.
"I didn't know he was in town! I've gotta find a skin-suit to hide in..." The sludge villain now noticed Izuku.
"You'll make a good skin-suit for hiding kid!" The sludge said as a tendril wrapped around Izuku, keeping him still as the villain moved over to engulf him.
Fortunately Izuku's quirk responded to the threat perceived by it's owner. The golden skinned humanoid did not struggle for a second with the sludge, bursting out of Izuku's body and his sludge confines. Izuku and his quirk backed away the sludge looking on in confusion. The villain bore the look for but a moment before the creature rushed him with shocking speed, just barely seen by the human eye.
The sludge villain barely had time to register a yellow skinned man with a yellow combat helmet with black lines. He seemed to have dark orange armor with white stylized wing fixtures on the shoulders. The biceps and triceps was bare but the forearms had more of that same dark orange with a purple lady bug on the back of each hand and a smaller one for each knuckle.
The sludge monster looked down at the creature, its fist now firmly planted in the sludge villain.
Izuku however had his strange sudden confidence again. He watched the sludge villain as it deformed into a puddle and ended up a few meters away. Izuku was unaware of his quirk's range but he was sure it was somewhere around 2 meters. Izuku slowly and cautiously approached the villain, his quirk floating a few centimeters off the ground. Just as the sludge villain lunged forward at Izuku, there was the sound of heavy footsteps. The villian quickly enveloped Izuku, beginning to suffocate him.
"Everything will be okay. Why you ask? BECAUSE I AM HERE!" The figure yelled as Izuku recognized him.
All Might burst forward and grabbed Izuku by the forearm and ripped him out of the sludge effortlessly, his quirk positioning itself to match Izuku's pose and floated back to him, disappearing into his form.
What? No, never mind that for now, I can ask the kid later. All Might thought as he cocked his fist back and raised his voice, "TEEEXAS SMAAAAAASH!" He had taken a bracing stand and punched forward, the sheer wind pressure disassembling the villain, "HUH?! I... CAN'T... HOLD... TOGETHER." The villain thought as his sludge body splatteredall over the concrete tunnel.
All Might was glad he saved that kid before he got hurt. Now, he needs to ask him about his quirk. "All is well young man! Now-" All Might had brought Izuku in front of him and set him down, only for him to collapse like a puppet without strings. All Might grimaced, it seems he had knocked this young man out as well as the villain. "Well, better clean up while I wait..." All Might said to himself, now pulling out a bottle of some drink and downed it quickly and turned to the mess. He zoomed around faster than the eye could see, scooping the villain into the bottle and putting it in his pants pocket.
All Might then walked over to the young boy, noticing his backpack was open he picked it up and grabbed a slightly singed notebook and read the cover. " 'Hero Analysis for The Future'?" He said to himself. He flicked through the pages, Holy cow! All Might thought. The notes were so detailed, it was insane! This kid certainly had an eye for this kind of thing.
He looked inside the bag and pulled a pen out and flipped to the next empty page and wrote in his hero autograph, the characters in the font that he himself made for his products like posters, books, and advertisements. He put the pen back in the back and set it next to the boy and the notebook as well. He leaned down over the boy and lightly slapped his cheek rapidly, waking the boy up after a minute or so.
The boy's eyes open and closed a few times, seemingly blinking the feeling out of his eyes. Izuku then sat right up right as All Might stood straight up. "ALL MIGHT?!"
He held his hand up next to his head. "Sorry young man! I usually am more careful about keeping bystanders out of the way of my justice-ing but I was in a rush! Turns out the city's sewer system is pretty difficult to navigate! Hahaha!" All Might's voice was booming and impressive.
Izuku was just stuttering until All Might continued.
"Anyway, thank you for your help young man! You helped me capture the evildoer!" He placed his right hand on a bulge in his cargo pants pocket.
A small bit of steam came off of All Might. I meant to ask this young man about his quirk but I ran out of time! All Might thought.
Now that Izuku's brain had registered All Might behind there he looked him over. He was wearing a white T-shirt and olive green cargo pants and what seemed like black work boots. He was MASSIVE, much bigger than Izuku.
The most amazing hero in the world is right in front of me! He is so much cooler in person! Izuku thought. Then, another thought practically slapped him across his face.
"I NEED YOUR AUTOGRAPH!" Izuku said as he reached for his bag and grabbing a pen and noticing his notebook out of his bag, shrugging it off and flicking to the next empty page, however, when he got there he discovered the autograph already there. Izuku stood up and turned around to face All Might who had now walked to the edge of the concrete incline of the drainage area. "Thank you so much! This will be a family heirloom, passed down for generations!" Izuku said while bowing deeply to All Might.
"I must take this guy to the police so they can take care of him. Stay out of trouble. See you around young man!" All Might called to Izuku.
"Wait, you're leaving already?!" Izuku said.
"Heroes fight time as much as they do time! That goes twice fold for me." All Might replied.
He can't go yet, I still have to ask my question!
"Wait-" Izuku was quickly cut off by All Might.
"Stand back young man! I am taking off. Thank you for your support!" All Might said to Izuku as he leapt into the sky.
After a second All Might noticed that he was off balance. He looked down and saw that boy that he rescued.
He placed his hand on his forehead and a struggle ensued. "Hey, what are you doing? Let go! I love my fans but this is too much!" All Might shouted while trying to push Izuku off while he did his best to hang on.
"No! If I let go now I'll fall to my death!" Izuku yelled to All Might over the loud wind.
"Fair point." All Might responded, now making a beeline to the roof of a nearby building.
All Might made touch down and Izuku let go, shaking his head. All Might then walked to the other side of the building preparing to jump again.
"WAIT!" Izuku shouted.
All Might turned his head.
"I just have one question for you." Izuku said.
"Fine. Make haste." All Might replied.
"Is it possible to become a hero with my quirk? People around me tell me it is scary and it is a villain's quirk..." Izuku said this thoughtfully, pausing to take a deap breath. "Sometimes I feel as if I have failed... like I am destined to just sit there and never come close to my dream of becoming a hero." Izuku stopped, holding back tears as he looked down and clenched his fists, thinking of the all that Kacchan had done had done to him over the years. It had finally gotten to him, it had broke him when he wasn't even around.
A tear streaked down Izuku's face, hitting the ground and splashing, just a small dot in an ocean of broken dreams. He looked up at All Might. "Can I become a hero? Someone like you?" Izuku asked, his eyes filled with determination, but it was so fragile. All Might stared at the boy. One wrong word here and he could ruin a life.
All Might inhaled and went to speak but was cut off by Izuku who now looked back down. "I know it seems a silly question to bother the likes of you with, but I have been dreaming about this for so long..." The rest of Izuku's words were lost on All Might as he began to steam, heavily.
Shit! All Might thought as a cloud of steam enveloped him and cleared within about five seconds. He stared at Izuku talking for the next two minutes, his heart racing and a heavy feeling in the pit of his stomach. Please don't look up, please please please- All Might thought as Izuku looked up, directly at him.
The man in front of Izuku looked nothing like All Might. Besides the clothes and maybe the hair which he could tell was shaped at some point. Izuku's mind blanked as he tried to recognize and went with the next best option. "WHO ARE YOU? You aren't All Might! All Might is a living giant who saves everyone! Not some skinny toothpick!" Izuku shouted as he looked around.
All Might sighed as he went to explain his predicament.
For those wondering, Izuku acts ballsy and careless about Bakugou and the bullies earlier because he has somewhat realized he is worth something and isn't completely worthless, like he would be if he were to be quirkless, those moments being fueled by a bit of adrenaline and fear of getting hurt, same goes for the sludge villain.
