Good news! This story is not canceled and I am most definitely still alive!

Izuku walked for quite awhile, the halls of U.A twisting and turning. If there was something hero related, it was in this building, posters, awards, pointless collectables, all sorts of things. Izuku, being the fanboy he is, had trouble not stopping at every turn to check out these things. He however, decided he could spend days doing that when he was actually in U.A.

The halls themselves weren't too terribly special, basic white tile for the flooring, no trim, the supporting structure was just a series of blue pillars set into the wall, the ceiling looked to be a series of squares of unrecognizable material. Izuku took in the minimal detail as he walked through the halls, following the signs to the testing location. He stopped at two doors that seemed to just be sheets of smooth wood that slid in and out of the wall.

To the right of the door, a woman in a business suit was sitting at a fold-able table and chair with a laptop, seemingly checking in the hero hopefuls. Izuku walked over and he didn't manage to utter a word before the woman whipped out a plastic card and shooed him towards the doors that were now open, revealing an auditorium room with hundreds of seats arranged in a raised semi-circle around a central platform and podium, where the pro-hero Present Mic was standing.

Izuku gave a jolt as he noticed the pro. Not wanting to be standing out, Izuku took a look at his card and dashed into the row with his seat and sat, unfortunately right behind Bakugou. Bakugou simply growled as Izuku walked to his seat and sat down. The doors closed the moment Izuku sat down and Present Mic tapped on his microphone on the podium.

"HEY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" Present Mic shouted.

The room filled with silence, Izuku could practically hear the chirping of grasshoppers like in the old comedies when a joke fell flat.

"Tough crowd..." Present Mic murmured, still plenty audible to the room.

More silence.

"ALRIGHT! YOU ALL HAVE COME FOR THE HERO COURSE EXAM! FIRST WILL BE THE WRITTEN PORTION!" Present Mic announced.

There was a shuffle as people shifted in their seats.

"THERE WILL BE 200 QUESTIONS TOTAL AND EXACTLY 200 MINUTES TO ANSWER THEM ALL!" Present Mic said, receiving no response this time.

Present Mic shook his head absently.

"50 LANGUAGE ARTS QUESTIONS! 50 MATH QUESTIONS! 50 LAW AND GOVERNMENT QUESTIONS! AND 50 HISTORY QUESTIONS! THESE WILL BE ALL MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS!" Present Mic said, pushing what was presumably papers around the podium he was at.

Present Mic looked around for any hands, "NO QUESTIONS? GREAT! WALK TO THE BACK OF THE ROOM TO ONE OF THE TABLES AND GRAB A PAPER AND PENCIL IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE AND GET TESTING!" Present Mic shouted.

The test flew by for Izuku, he never really thought of his intellect to be extreme, sure, he caught on faster, but he didn't think it was to this degree. He finished with 50 minutes left and set the test on it's front, looking around, he looked in front of him and saw that Bakugou was still quite busy. Izuku sat at his desk, waiting for the next 50 minutes for the test to end.

It took quite a bit, but the test did end. With some brief directions from Present Mic, every examiner walked to the back of the room and set their tests down on the white plastic folding tables and returned to their seats.

"ALRIGHT THEN DEAR LISTENERS! TIME TO EXPLAIN THE PRACTICAL PORTION OF THE EXAM!" Present Mic said.

Present Mic did a flourish with his arm and turned around with something in his hand, what it was, was an enigma to Izuku, who was seated quite far away. The room was completely silent for a count of five before a giant projector screen fell from the ceiling. A projector in the ceiling fired up and displayed a graph as a paper was passed to Izuku.

Izuku took a look at the paper. "Points..?" Izuku muttered as he examined the paper. There were four black outlines on the paper of very mechanical looking objects. Present Mic had chosen then to launch into his explanation. "THE PRACTICAL PORTION OF THE EXAM WILL ENTAIL YOU, THE LISTENER, GOING INTO A MOCK URBAN ENVIRONMENT AND SMASHING UP SOME ROBOTS IN ORDER TO GAIN POINTS!" Izuku launched into a muttering storm, theorizing about the exam, gaining the stares of his fellow hero hopefuls.

Three pictures of robots appeared on the screen, they looked quite heavily armed and dangerous, "THERE WILL BE-"

"EXCUSE ME!" A boy with dark blue hair, glasses, and a serious expression on his face said.

Present Mic pointed to the blue haired boy and a spotlight shined onto him, "YES, EXAMINEE 7111?"

The blue haired boy stood up and raised his paper to Present Mic and pointed to it, "THE PICTURE UP THERE ONLY SHOWS THREE TYPES OF ROBOTS BUT THE PAPER CLEARLY SHOWS FOUR," The boy said before turning around and pointing to Izuku, "YOU THERE, WITH THE MESSY GREEN HAIR, YOU HAVE BEEN MUTTERING THIS WHOLE TIME, STOP IT, IT IS DISTRACTING THE REST OF US."

Izuku put his hands over his mouth and quietly apologized as the boy sat back down.

"YOU BRING UP AN EXCELLENT POINT I WAS JUST ABOUT TO GET TO!" Present Mic responded.

A pixelated video appeared on the screen as Present Mic pointed to it.

"AS I WAS SAYING, YOU, THE LISTENER, WILL BE ENTERING A MOCK CITY AND WRECKING SOME ROBOTS!" A pixelated Present Mic appeared on the screen and walked down an alley as he spoke.

"THERE WILL BE FOUR TYPES OF ROBOTS! THE FIRST THREE ARE HOW YOU GAIN POINTS!" The Present Mic on the screen jumped up and stomped on some equally pixelated robots of varying size and build, crushing them.

"THE LAST HOWEVER, IS MORE OF A POINT BLOCK, IT JUST REALLY ISN'T WORTH YOUR TIME!" The Present Mic on the screen then ran away from a fourth robot that towered over his pixelated form, which Izuku found to be a bit odd, as the pixelated Present Mic looked terrified.

Test Site B

It was an extremely mind numbing bus ride to the testing site. Izuku did come across a stroke of luck however, as he and Bakugou were in separate testing sites, so that was one upside.

The bus that took them to the test site looked like every other public transport in the city but with a "U.A." insignia on the side, either letter being a different color, yellow and orange respectively.

On the bus, the seats were like, once again, every other public transport other than the fact that they were clean. As people took their seats, some just naturally gravitated towards others, and Izuku, having been singled out earlier, had a seat to himself, as no one wanted to associate with him.

Ah well, more time to think on how to go about this, Izuku thought.

Short chapter just so I can get something out! I am going to pick this back up and get another proper chapter out later in the week.
