"Okay, so Kacchan is the biggest problem. Everyone else sort of just does what he says because he has the coolest quirk." Izuku explained to his newly found pink friend.

"What is this quirk that makes everyone ignore he's a buttface." She replied.

"Well, he can ignite the sweat in his palms to make explosions."

"So he's always sweaty? I bet he smells gross."

"Ashido that's mean! But no he always smells like caramel because of the way his sweat is. By the way, what class are you in?"

"That doesn't change the fact that having a sweat-fueled power is kinda gross. I'm in 5-B I'm pretty sure" MIna put her finger and thumb on her chin looking blankly forward trying her hardest to remember.

"Yeah, I guess it is. That's a shame we're not in the same class. That would be too much to hope for I suppose." Izuku still hadn't looked at Mina properly since he'd accidentally called her pretty. How could he? Girls were weird and it's not like he was exactly a social butterfly.

The school was rapidly approaching and Izuku was steeling himself for another day of the same treatment. As he got lost in his thoughts he was unconsciously slowing his pace to enter the school gate a few paces behind Mina to make it look like they didn't know each other.

Even in her lost in thought state, MIna noticed the puff of green hair disappear from right next to her. She glanced behind her to see the infectious smile that had plastered Izuku's face since she had met him had disappeared. He didn't have any emotion on his face at all. His chest was rising and falling rapidly and he was fidgeting fiercely with the straps on his bag. She knew exactly what it was, she had been there herself. Why else would she be starting at a new school halfway through the year?

"Hey, can you look here for a second?" the question ripped Izuku out of his thoughts and he unconsciously followed the instructions. It was the first time he'd taken a look into Mina's eyes. Deep was the only way he could describe them, two endless voids spattered with flakes of gold and at the center two shining orbs that seemed to shatter the walls he had around him. Mina's voice continuing snapped him out of the spell that her eyes seemed to have him under.

"You don't have to do this alone anymore 'kay? I've got your back from now on and I hope you have mine." She beamed at Izuku with quite possibly the brightest smile he'd ever seen. But she wasn't done, Mina didn't do things in halves. She raised her voice much louder than her small voicebox should have allowed. "IZUKU MIDORIYA, I MINA ASHIDO INVITE YOU TO BE MY BEST FRIEND. DO YOU ACCEPT?"

Izuku stared at her in shock for a few seconds before tears began to form at the corners of his eyes as he began to violently nod his head up and down. He couldn't believe it, a person that was happy to call him a friend. A best friend even, he over the moon to say the least. Before he could get a word out MIna continued. "Great! I'll meet you right here after school finishes okay? And we can play during breaks as well. We'll be seeing each other again before you know it, so try not to miss me too much okay?

MIna could feel the stares from the other kids as she skipped through the front gate to go to her class. Leaving Izuku stunned, confused, and on the brink of tears as he tried to piece together what just happened and the hurricane that was Mina Ashido.

After taking a few moments to compose himself Izuku made his way to class and took his seat next to the door. To his surprise even with his experimenting this morning and the hold-up of meeting Mina and walking pretty slowly to school he was still the first one there. Slowly but surely the students filed in and every single one of them kicked his table as they walked past. One or two he could understand as an accident but all 19 other students in his class kicked his table as they walked in. Izuku sighed deeply to himself and got his books out of his bag, first break couldn't come faster. Mina was only one door away as well.

The bell for recess went for recess and a wave of relief washed over Izuku as he put his books away.

"DEKU!" Bakugo made his presence known as he made a beeline for Izuku's desk

"Oh for fu-"

"Who was that freak you with this morning, lowly scum like you shouldn't be trying to fit in." for emphasis the ash-haired child kicked Izuku's desk into him."

"How dare you" both Izuku and Bakugo's heads snapped to the sound and saw Mina standing in the doorway. Before Izuku could say anything She was already steaming towards Bakugo. " You can't treat him like that."

"Oh, it's the freak from this morning. You do realize you picked the most useless person here to attach yourself to. I can treat him however I want, I'm the strongest. Who's going to stop me?" to emphasize his point he put his hand on Izuku's schoolwork and destroyed the whole lesson's progress. Izuku could only watch as the past two hours went up in smoke.

MIna never broke her stride towards the blonde and grabbed the wrist that was currently on Izuku's desk. Neither Izuku nor Bakugo knew what the girls' quirk was so neither of them could be prepared for what was next. Throughout the halls, all that could be heard was Bakugo's blood-curdling wail. Mina could produce acid from anywhere on her skin, an acid that was currently burning through the skin on Bakugo's wrist.

"Why are you screaming on your knees? I thought you were the strongest? You're losing to the freak, that's not very strong of you is it?" Bakugo's screaming subsided as he continued to wince in pain.

"GET THE HELL OFF ME YOU DAMN FREAK." Bakugo continued to try to get free but the friction of him pulling away only made MIna's grip hurt more. In a last-ditch effort, he tried to fire off his quirk to get her away but there was nothing and his hand felt sticky. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU PUT ON MY HANDS."

"Midoriya told me how your quirk on the way to school. I can control how strong my acid is and how thick it is. I used a thick but weak acid to block your pores so you can't sweat. Right now you're essentially quirkless." Mina half gloated at him.

Bakugo saw red, him? Quirkless? Like that damn Deku? NO! He was the best, he's the strongest. The explosive boy used his free hand and swung his fist as hard as he could. His hand made contact with the side of MIna's face, the girl let go of the boy's wrist and slid back across the floor and out of the door she had walked in all but 5 seconds ago. MIna turned to her side and saw her homeroom teacher storming down the hall.

Mina wasn't one to lie often but she figured if it was to save her new friend from being bullied it was worth it, she made sure she had no acid left on her hands and then, she let the waterworks fly. She ran over and grabbed the teacher with tears in her eyes.

"Miss, I was just trying to say hello and shake his hand but I lose control of my quirk sometimes. It was an accident I promise." Mina pleaded with the young-looking woman. "But then he punched me in the face. I tried to apologize to him but all he did was yell at me." the tears were starting to stream.

"I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU, YOU SHITTY VILLAIN." Bakugo stormed out the door fists clenched and hands clean from whatever muck that weird girl had put on them. He turned to see a teacher holding her and she was in tears.

"Katsuki Bakugo. You have approximately 5 seconds to get to the principal's office and explain to him why you punched the new girl on her first day." the teacher spoke to him with gentle anger that made him shake."

"But miss sh-"

"NOW!" If looks could kill Mina would be dead with the way the boy glared at her before

"MIss look at this." the boy held up his wrist which had somewhere between a first and second-degree burn in the shape of a hand.

"She already told me what happened it was an accident. GO!" the teacher pointed towards the direction of the principal's office. The Boy had no choice but to co-operate muttering to himself as he walked off.

"Thank you miss, I just wanted to be friends." the girl managed to get out between sniffles as she wiped the tears from her eyes and steadied her breathing. " I think I'm okay now. I'm gonna go talk to the other boy who was super nice." MIna left the teacher and ran back to Izuku's desk.

Izuku was in the same position he was in when the whole ordeal started. He just stared into space in complete shock at the chain of events that had just happened. Kacchan the invincible one had been brought to his knees by a girl with a personality as bright as her skin.

"-iya, Midoriya?" Mina snapped him out of his thoughts again which seemed to be a re-occurring theme. Did he speak with other people so little that he didn't notice when he was zoned out?

Izuku stood up from his desk and began to walk out of the class making sure he had everything with him and walked out the classroom beckoning Mina to follow him.

"Midoriya where are we going?" Mina followed closely behind Izuku who was walking a lot faster than he was on their way to school.

"We're going to the principal's office and you're going to tell the truth. Kacchan could be in a lot of trouble because you lied to a teacher." MIna stopped dead in her tracks causing Izuku to turn around.

"No. I'm not going in there to get him out of trouble." Mina lightly stamped her foot while crossing her arms and turning her head away from Izuku. "He was bullying you, and there's only one thing I truly hate and it's bullies."

"Kacchan wasn't bullying me, he's my friend. He was just messing around. Now come on let's go."

"He destroyed your work and called you worthless, and what was with that name he calls you Deku? What's that about?

"Well." Izuku then pulled a notebook out of his bag. "If you cover this symbol here and this symbol here in my name how would you read that?" he asked showing her the symbols on his book. It took Mina a second or two because Kani is hard but when she realized her eyes opened wide before slowly closing them.

"Useless…" Mina almost hissed the word. No, it wasn't her tone that was making that hissing noise she wasn't talking anymore. Izuku looked down slightly to her hands to see acid dripping off her fingers and onto the floor. Izuku panned back up to her face and expected to see anger but instead, he was met with a face of pure calm.

"A-Ashido, are you okay?" No response, she just stared dead ahead, eyes blank of anything that would tell him how she was feeling. "Ashido!" Izuku said a little louder accompanied by a clap of his hands in front of her face. MIna's eyes regained focus as they locked onto Izuku's. And the acid flowing off her hands slowed before stopping.

"You can't let him treat like you this, much less call him your friend. Really think about it Midoriya when was the last time being around him made you happy, when was the last time you had fun with him?" Mina's words shook Izuku, she was right. It had been years since his time with Kacc- no Katsuki was anything other than miserable. Ever since his damn quirk didn't manifest on time.

"You're right. Katsuki isn't my friend and he's bullying me for a long time but that doesn't mean he should get in trouble for something that wasn't his fault." Izuku spoke gently but with a steady tone. Once he finished speaking, he turned and continued towards the principal's office. "Thank you for sticking up for me Ashido it's the first time anyone has done that in a long time, I appreciate it." he tried to keep his tone steady but Mina could hear the happiness creep in, and she let out a small smile

"You're welcome Midori, We're best friends now remember? I've got your back."

Izuku was glad his back was turned so Mina couldn't see that bright red tone his face had taken at receiving his first nickname that he was happy to hear. "And I've got yours." he managed to get out in a somewhat normal tone.

Upon reaching the door to the office Mina stopped Izuku one last time. " Are you sure you want to bail him out? He'll probably be suspended or maybe even expelled. He hit the new girl over an 'accident'." Mina emphasized the last word with air quotes. "If he does get expelled your life will be way easier.

"Ashido, we have known each other for very long but all I've ever wanted to be is a pro hero. A hero that saves people with a smile, like All Might. And being a hero isn't about doing what's easy, it's about doing what's right. Don't worry I'll make sure you don't get in trouble after all we've got each other's backs right?" Izuku smiled at Mina and motioned for her to move off down the hall as he opened the door.

"Excuse me, sir." Izuku interrupted the verbal lashing Katsuki was getting over what he'd done.

"MIdoriya can this wait a few minutes I have a student to discipline" The principal spoke to him in a dismissive tone as he usually got from most of the teachers at the school.

"Actually, It's about Kacc-Katsuki." Katsuki's ears perked up at what Izuku had just called him.

"Great, more bad news for our most promising student." the teacher turned to glare at the blonde boy.

"Well, to be honest sir I'm in here to try and clear his name." both Katsuki and the principal looked at Izuku with a confused look. "The incident from earlier, Katsuki wasn't unprovoked. Ashido said that it was an accident but it wasn't. She just didn't realize the way he and I play is a little rougher than most people. She was just sticking up for me is all. She's not upset and won't tell her parents about Katsuki punching her. So if you want He can be off the hook and nothing will come from this."

The principal turned to Katsuki. "You're free to go, you should thank Midoriya for clearing your name."

"I don't owe him anything. His freak of a friend attacked me and then lied about it." Katsuki got up and walked out of the room without saying another word.

Is there anything else I can do for you Midoriya or is that all?"

"That was all I came for sir, thank you for your time." Izuku turned and left the room and closed the door behind him as he did.

"Hey Deku what's your angle? Are you trying to get leverage over me huh? You're not better than me." Katsuki caught Izuku a little off guard, he didn't expect him to be there.

"Don't be an Idiot Katsuki we both know what this was, you're a smart guy." Izuku never broke his stride down the hallway. "This is the last time I bail you out. Don't speak to me unless it's necessary, we're done."

"Get back here Deku this isn't finished." the blonde screamed after the greenette.

"Yes, it is. Or maybe I should walk back into that office and show him something I'm sure he'd love to see." to emphasize his point he lifted his shirt to reveal it his torso scattered with burns in the shapes of handprints." Sometimes you get too into it and you're explosions are a bit hotter than you think they are. I could off ruined your life 5 times over already. But that's not very heroic, is it?"

Katsuki was about to call out again but stopped himself, sure he knew he could be a little hot-headed sometimes but he wasn't dumb. Nothing good would come of him speaking again. After all, Deku wouldn't be trying to follow him around anymore. That was a good thing right? So why did he feel so weird about it?

"Don't try getting back at Ashido either, or the same thing goes. Goodbye Kacchan." Izuku continued his way back back to where his pink friend was waiting for him.

After Izuku had walked away Katsuki turned back towards the principal's office and knocked on the door.

"So, how did it all go?" Mina asked when they re-united

"I've cut ties with Katsuki, you should be safe from any repercussions from your little stunt earlier as well."

"Midori, listen from what it seems you and him have known each other for a long time. Are your parent's friends?" Izuku simply nodded at the question. " Oh boy, that's even rougher. If you don't mind me asking why does he treat you like that?"

"Well... " Izuku paused for a couple of seconds

"It's fine, I promise I'm here for you."

"Until yesterday I was quirkless." Izuku blurted out. There it was, it was out in the open. Izuku prepared for the ridicule, but it never came.

"What a scumbag. For something that's not even your fault…" Mina trailed off not really finishing her point

"Y-You're not going to make fun of me?"

"Why would I? It's not something you can fix. And besides, that's in the past isn't it? You have your quirk now." Mina smiled at him. "Not that I wouldn't be your friend if you were still quirkless."

Izuku felt the wetness on his cheeks before he could realize it. The tears just kept coming no matter how much he tried to wipe them away, they just wouldn't stop.

"Midori I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset." MIna started to panic not knowing what she had said to upset the boy.

"I'm not upset, I'm just so happy I met you." The boy continued to try and wipe away the tears pouring down his cheeks. "I'm so happy that I truly have a real friend and it's someone as nice as you."

Mina felt something click inside of her when she saw Izuku crying just because someone was giving him positive attention. She needed to protect him, there was nothing she wouldn't do to make sure he was okay. No one would hurt him again. MIna took a step toward Izuku and gave him a gentle hug.

"I'll always be here to protect you 'kay Midori? If you wanna be a pro hero then I guess that means I gotta be one too doesn't it?" Mina spoke gently next to his ear not breaking the hug.

Izuku's head snapped up at the statement by the pink-haired girl. "Ashido you can't it's too dangerous I don't want you to get hurt."

"So I have to watch from the sidelines doing nothing while you risk your life. No, no that's not allowed. If you really wanna be a pro hero then we'll open an agency together and it will be called the best friend villain stopping agency. And you can be the number one hero and I'll be number two."

Izuku just began to laugh into his friend's shoulder. "That's a silly name for a hero agency."

"I was trying to make you laugh dummy. And the name is the only part of that plan you have?"

The two were interrupted by the bell telling them it was time for them to return to their respective classes.
