Hey! I had to cram this entire chapter in one day. Idk how long since I haven't typed it. LOL I actually had to go to my school on Friday evening, because my middle school's ASB was hosting a Halloween Dance, so I went there, instead of staying home and writing. Also, I am going to one of my best friend's house on Sunday for a Halloween Party, so I can't write the chapter then.

By the way, could you guys check some of my other stories? It would really mean a lot to me. And I need some motivation for my other ongoing collection. Thanks! Shameless Self-promotion aside, on with the story!

UPDATE: I ACCIDENTALLY PUBLISHED THE WRONG CHAPTER, SRY

Dahlia was more than happy to say that she had a happy life. She knew this sounded a little bit shallow, but she had a good living. Her parents owned a wealthy business and were one of the most influential people in her city.

She had perfect grades and a sweet personality. All of the teachers loved her, and every girl was jealous of her.

Then, one day, she came in.

She was a pretty girl with olive skin and piercing green eyes, with long flowing brown hair behind her.

The green eyed-girl was awkward at first because no one wanted to talk to her.

Dahlia walked up to her, sensing the new girl's discomfort. "Hi!" she said. "I'm Dahlia! You are?"

"Lila." The girl responded, her voice matched her appearance, sweet, pretty, and mellow.

Dahlia nodded and reached for Lila's hand. "Friends?"

Lila giggled. "Of course!"

Time passed, and Dahlia started to grow a bit suspicious of Lila. Once, she said that she was personally acquainted with Dahlia's favorite American author (and celebrity crush), Oliver Windward from the USA. But he had posted only a few days later, a picture with his new girlfriend. At first, Lila was shocked that the author had a girlfriend, but then Dahlia pointed out that he was seventeen like them, so it was obvious he would have a girlfriend.

"Why are you so shocked, Lila?" she had asked Lila. "If you're like, his best friend shouldn't you know?"

Dahlia noticed a look of fear cross Lila's face but decided not to comment on it. "I...I was friends with him a long time ago! Like when we were six. So he probably doesn't remember me now. Hehehe."

Dahlia nodded with a wry smile on her face. She knew Lila was lying, but Lila was only lying to get people to like her more. No one was getting harmed, right?

Only weeks later, Dahlia was thrilled to know that Oliver had broken up with his girlfriend. She was about to message Lila when her phone started ringing. The brunette peered at her cell for a few seconds before cautiously picking up the call. "Hello?"

"Why did you do that?" a girl on the other end exclaimed. Dahlia recoiled in shock. The other girl seemed to be crying.

"Hey, are you okay?" she coaxed, wanting the girl to calm down. "And, what did I do?"

"What did you do?" the girl yelled. "How about messaging my boyfriend rumors about me?"

"What? I never did that? And who are you?"

"As if you don't know. Isabel Campbell. A Pleasure to meet you." the girl remarked sarcastically.

"Isabel, as in Oliver Windward's girlfriend?" Dahlia said, in awe.

Isabel went quiet for a few minutes. "You didn't really message him didn't you?"

"I didn't, why are you asking me that?"

Isabel still sounded like she was going to burst into tears any moment. "You wouldn't be so genuinely awed at the fact I'm some famous teenager's ex."

Dahlia was stunned to speak, so she let Isabel continue. "A girl named Lila Rossi DM-ed me on Instagram saying that her best friend had private-messaged Oliver rumors about me so he would break up with me. At first, I didn't believe her, but then she said that you had a crush on him. So I thought you did."

"Lila said that?" Dahlia asked, tears blurring her own vision now.

"Yeah. And then she gave me your number and your name so I could call you. Not only did she waste my time, and yours, but she also wasted money. An international call to Italy. Huh?" Isabel joked.

"Yeah," Dahlia said. "Thanks."

"Hey, Dahlia!" Lila waved as if nothing had happened. "How are you?"

Dahlia sat down, as her dark eyes burned with disbelief and disappointment. "Why did you say that, Lila?"

Lila narrowed her eyes. "Say what?"

"You know well what I mean." Dahlia snapped. "I was there for you when no one else was. I cared about you. You became friends with me so you could have all of my friends. Then as soon as you got what you wanted, you threw me aside like trash."

"Yeah. There's nothing special about you anyway. Joo-li-aah." Lila sneered, dragging each syllable of Dahlia's name. "I told everyone what you did. Soon, all your friends will be mine. And you will be left alone, and friendless."

Dahlia smirked. "We will see."

Turned out, Lila made good on her threat. Dahlia had lost all of her friends in only three days that followed her fight with Lila, her grades had dropped, and she could feel herself slinking slowly and slowly into the ocean of depression. She had no friends, her parents were too busy, and she was the only child. She had no one to talk to. Giulia would spend her time lying in her room, re-reading all of her favorite books.

Her phone beeped. Hello! Ms. Dahlia, your painting has been selected, and we would like to invite you to join The Artipre Art Institute of Maryland. We hope you can make it.

Dahlia sat up with a jolt. She was getting a brand new chance, and she wouldn't let it go. Determination set in her eyes, she grinned. Excited about her brand new opportunity.
