The ride to the park was fairly quiet as the team was a bit solemn and Tony had fallen asleep. Halfway through the tram ride, Tony had a seizure. It was an absence seizure so they were able to keep him in the stroller, but the team spent several minutes watching the sickly boy stare into space while his hand twitched and he chewed on an imaginary piece of food. When he came out of it, Tony was confused and whiny but they helped him get back to sleep.
When they arrived at the Disney park, they stopped for a Disability Access Service Pass by the main entrance. They still had to wait in line, but luckily it was shorter. By the time they arrived in the park, there were a large amount of people walking around, causing Tony to wake up from the commotion.
They had the stroller's canopy down, but hearing movement from Tony, Steve pulled it up and placed Mickey sunglasses over Tony's eyes. "How you doing, buddy?" Steve smiled.
Tony yawned in response and moved his head around slowly, taking in his surroundings. "Disneyworld?" He muttered.
Steve's smile widened and he nodded. "We made it."
Tony smiled after registering Steve's words. Soon, Clint was bending down to talking to Tony. "I'm so excited, Tones! What do you want to ride on first?"
"Somewhere cool, 's hot." The whole team laughed.
"How about 'It's a Small World'? It's an inside ride," Sam pointed out, looking at the map.
Tony shrugged, a tired smile on his face. Steve rustled Tony's short hair and pulled down the canopy before they started walking.
It wasn't a far walk to the ride, but they did frown at the long wait. Luckily, it seemed that the line was constantly moving, so they decided to wait it out.
It took them a few minutes to untangle Tony from the wires and tubes and instead rearrange them to fit into the backpack that Steve wore. Steve then picked up the limp boy from the stroller and held him close, Tony's head draped onto his shoulder.
Before they went inside, Bruce also slid a child's face mask onto Tony's face after seeing how packed and crowded the ride was. Tony simply crinkled his nose, the mask moving slightly, before accepting the cover.
The inside of the ride was beautiful with large white, gold, and silver shapes forming buildings and other random pictures. The team spent the wait pointing out all the shapes they could identify. Tony's head lifted to point out the eiffel tower to the team to which they awarded him 5,000 points.
When they got to the front, there were a line of boats with rows of seats. Steve sat in the front row with Tony on his lap, Natasha sitting on the bench next to them. Rhodey and Bruce sat in the middle row, and Clint and Scott took the one in the back. Tony woke up as their boat started to move and sway and Steve pulled the boy's mask down. "You doing okay, buddy?" Steve asked.
Tony nodded, entranced by the ride. Steve's focus was on the large smile Tony wore. The small boy stared up in wonder at all the dancing dolls and overload of colors. The movement of the boat was soothing, causing him to slump in Steve's arms.
They ended up going on the ride a second time seeing as Tony absolutely loved it and the wait time was barely 5 minutes.
Steve, noticing Tony's eyes fluttering, decided to split the team up so that the thrill-seekers could attend some roller coasters while he took Tony on one of the slower rides. Rhodey and Bruce decided to stay with Steve and Tony while Clint, Sam, and Scott dragged Natasha off to Space Mountain. Rhodey found a ride called the 'People Mover' so they moved towards that.
The ride was a slow tram that took them around the park through the air. Tony spent the first few minutes looking at the view before resting in Steve's arms.
"We should think about lunch," Bruce said after a comfortable silence.
"I've only seen food stands, do they have any sit-down restaurants?" Rhodey asked.
Bruce pulled out the map to check. "Yeah, they have quite a few. How about we try out the 'Be Our Guest' restaurant? It looks really nice."
Steve shifted Tony up when he started coughing. "Sure, maybe we can go there after this?"
The two adults nodded and another comfortable silence filled the cart.
The group met Clint, Scott, Sam, and Natasha in front of the People Mover and they relayed the plans. On their way to the restaurant, they saw Mickey Mouse walking across the park being followed by several excited kids.
Steve quickly stopped the stroller and pulled Tony out. Tony, who was awoken from his nap, was a bit glassy-eyed until his gaze landed on the large mouse walking toward them. The nasal cannula shifted up as Tony's smile split his face and he grasped Steve's shirt in excitement. "Is that Mickey Mouse?" He whispered.
The Avengers laughed at the amazement in his voice.
Clint moved next to Tony, "And look there!" Just as Clint pointed, Minnie Mouse came from behind a door and started walking next to Mickey. Tony's eyes almost popped out of his head.
Steve held in a laugh as he felt Tony practically vibrating in his arms.
Suddenly, the pair of characters noticed Tony and the Avengers and started walking over. Tony shook Steve's shirt as the pair walked closer.
Both Minnie and Mickey walked straight towards Tony. They both went crazy at his little Micky outfit causing everyone watching to 'Aw'. Mickey held up a hand for a high-five and Steve lifted Tony's small hand to touch the glove. Minnie pressed kisses over Tony's cheeks causing the boy to giggle. "And what's your name mini-Mickey?" The character attendant asked.
"Tony," the small boy said shyly.
"Minnie and Mickey are very happy to meet you, Tony," she said. "Where are you guys headed?"
Bruce stepped up and pointed at the map. "The restaurant called 'Be Our Guest'."
"We love that restaurant, don't we gang?" She said and the characters nodded enthusiastically. "Do you mind if we walk with you there, Tony?"
Tony's eyes widened and he nodded enthusiastically. The group laughed. As soon as Tony nodded, Minnie and Mickey took either side of Steve and started walking with Tony's hand in theirs.
The crowd stared in shock as the characters escorted Tony across the park to the restaurant. The small boy wore a smile from ear to ear as the characters guided him around.
Minnie and Mickey walked him all the way to the entrance of the restaurant and made sure to take many pictures with Tony and the Avengers before they departed. Tony felt like a celebrity as the people waiting in line stared at him in awe.
Be Our Guest restaurant was beautiful and looked just like the movie Beauty and the Beast- one of Tony's favorites. The ceilings were high and grand, the architecture was luxurious and detailed, and the smells of the food as they were guided to their seats were fantastic.
The Avengers were sat at a large table towards the back of the restaurant closest to the beautiful large windows. A chair was removed to make room for Tony's wheelchair, but he sat on Steve's lap anyway.
They each received a long menu that contained many fancy dishes. When Scott ordered, he had trouble ordering his 'Coq Au Vin', causing lots of laughter from his teasing teammates.
"Are you having fun, Tones?" Natasha asked as they waited for their food.
Tony nodded, smiling widely. "Best trip ever," he said in his soft voice. The group smiled at his words.
"I had lots of fun, but I can't wait to go home tomorrow. I think I'm gonna sleep for a week!" Clint said, the rest agreeing.
"I don't want to go home," Tony spoke up. "Can we stay a bit longer?"
The Avengers looked around at each other anxiously. Bruce gestured for Tony and Steve handed him over.
Bruce looked the small boy in the eye and spoke in a low volume. "Listen Tones, I know you had fun, but eventually fun does come to an end." The bottom of the small boy's lip came out in a pout. "Uncle Nick misses you very much and can't wait for you to come home buddy."
"But I don't want to go, I want to stay. Maybe Uncle Nick can come here? We can get another room at the hotel and he can live there? We can stay in Florida and go to DisneyWorld every day? We never have to go back!"
Bruce stared at the boy with a frown and the boy melted at the look. "You know we can't do that, Tones."
Tony sniffled, melting a bit in Bruce's arms. "But if we go back," he whispered, "You guys are gonna leave me again."
The Avengers froze. They had left Tony in moving to the compound. Since the boy hadn't said anything about it, they hadn't realized it had bothered him.
Bruce looked at his teammates before sighing. "We are so sorry it felt like we left you, Tony. We never wanted you to think that and I'm sorry it felt that way. But when we go back, things will be different, okay? We will try to see you every week, every day if we can- we will make sure you never feel like that again because you mean so much to us, Tony."
Tony fell against Bruce's chest, hugging the man tight. "You mean alot to me too," he said into Bruce's shoulder. The table melted at his words.
Not too long later, the waiters came with their food. The table was covered in large fancy dishes that smelled fantastic. Steve felt guilty eating when Tony couldn't, but seeing the boy taking a nap in his stroller with the feeding tube going up his nose made him feel better about it.
They spent the day walking around the park, though they did get on a few more slow rides, including the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Country Bear Jamboree. Tony loved them all, although the fatigue was gradually dragging him down again. Bruce gave him another morphine shot in between rides when he could see the boy's jointing stiffening up.
At the end of the night, just when Tony thought the trip to the park was over, the Avengers brought him to the front of Cinderella Castle just in time to see the fireworks light up the sky.
The castle's colors changed as different characters were projected onto it and tears came to Tony's eyes when suddenly Tinkerbell appeared and flew over the castle. It was truly magical.
