Tightening the improvised bandaged on his hand Peter heads to the meditation halls. Skipping right over the first couple of more open areas he goes straight to the ones in the far back. After a minute or so he manages to find master Banner meditating in one of the more isolated rooms.
Knocking gently Peter steps in to the room. "Hello, master Banner." Peter greets and bows his head, "I hope I'm not disturbing you."
Smiling Bruce shakes his head. "Your presence could never disturb, Peter." With that he gestures at the seat next to him. "Why don't you sit."
Straightening from his bow Peter goes to sit only to let out a hiss of pain as he accidentally jolts his hand.
"Are you alright?" Frowning in concern Bruce now notices the hastily wrapped bandaged around the apprentice's hand.
Glancing down at his hand Peter waves of the other's concern. "Oh, I'm fine."
"What happened?"
"Training just got a bit rough. Fell and cut my hand."
"Is this a medical visit then?"
He can tell that master Banner wants to help but he knows it will just cause the other to worry more than anything else. So shaking his head Peter pulls down his sleeve to cover his hand. "No, it's barely a scratch."
Face still marred with concern Bruce reluctantly concedes. "Then what brings you here?"
"I have questions about the force and..." Hesitating Peter takes a breath. "And the Sith."
"Oh?" Banner says in slight surprise and looks curiously at the apprentice.
"How exactly do they use the force differently then us Jedi?"
Humming Bruce looks away in thought. "Well, simply put: while we use knowledge and discipline to achieve peace to gain access to the force they let uncontrolled emotion build up and feed on itself to archive power. More often than not they're fueled by anger and hatred. That's why the power of the force become so dangerous and volatile with them."
Peter nods as Bruce repeats the same information he's gotten from everywhere else. He had hoped that master Banner might have known something more, but no matter, he will still ask. "But what if it's fueled by other emotions then anger or hatred?"
"What do you mean?"
"Can't..." Swallowing he nervously taps his fingers on his wrist cuffs. "Can't the emotions be positive?"
"The problem is that power wielded by uncontrollable emotions will itself be uncontrollable. No matter what the original intent behind it might be. Lack of control will cause it to change, warp. Corrupt."
Fingers stilling their tapping they instead wrap nervously around the cuff. "But..." Trailing off Peter stares down at the wristbands he once was so proud over.
Noticing the nervous tick Bruce's eyes are once more drawn down to the apprentice hands and the badly wrapped bandage. "Peter." Reaching out Bruce gently lays his hand over Peter's tense one. "Something did happen during training, didn't it?"
Looking down at their hands Peter sighs. "Just the usual. The training masters still don't approve of my modifications." Letting out a deep breath Peter looks up at Bruce with sad eyes. "Master Stark never..." Eyes dropping Peter trails off.
"Tony's always been special."
Squeezing Peter's hand softly Bruce tries to smile encouragingly but it comes out in sad resignation. "They mean well, Peter. They only want you to overcome your fear so you can find peace."
"What if I don't want to?" Peter says in almost a whisper.
"Peter?"
Pulling away from master Banner's hand Peter stands. "What if I don't want to find peace if it means I have to stop caring?"
Shaking his head Bruce looks up at Peter. "No one wants you to stop caring."
"Yes they do! I'm not scared, I'm worried I'll hurt someone." Hands tightening into fists blood slowly starts to drips down. " I just don't want to hurt anyone. How is that wrong?"
Taken off guard Bruce doesn't know what to say. "Peter..."
But before master Banner say or do anything to stop him, Peter turns around and swiftly walks away.
Closing his eyes Bruce takes a calming breath. Opening his eyes he glances at the lightsaber laying next to him. Reaching for it he remembers what Tony said when he gave it to him. "Green to match my favorite science bro."
Standing he hooks it to his hip. "I'll take care of him, Tony."
