Let's start the first chapter with the first recruit of the Overwatch Recruitment Program. This recruit is an unemployed officer worker fed up of his shortcomings and use video games to relieve some stress. Course, when playing Overwatch with his favorite character, he passed the recruitment requirements and turn into the very character he's playing.

Disclaimer: I don't own Overwatch

1st Recruitment: Gregory Barnes

"Damn it! Another failed interview!"

In the streets of Chicago, a lone man in his thirties stormed down the sidewalk, heading to his apartment. He is thirty-four years of age with short black hair that's combed to the side with gray speaks on the sides. He was a light medium build underneath his professional suit that comprises of a black vest and pants, a white-buttoned shirt, black tie, and a pair of black loafers with black socks. Course he was showing sings of age as he has faint lines around his mouth and eyes with dark circles underneath his eyes and a slight gut sticking out. He was upset over the fact that his recent interview didn't go the way it did. He learned about the company, followed the interview questions, and has his resume at the ready. Yet no matter what he did, the company felt like they didn't need him, as he doesn't qualify for the job.

"I can't believe it!" he said in a huff, "I've been looking for work for the past few years, trying to find something that could fit me. Yet no matter what I try, no matter the research and preparation, these companies don't see me as a reliable asset. They want to prefer some bastard with a lot of experience then someone who is starting out. The nerve…"

He soon walked down to his apartment complex and wanted to forget about the interview that happened today and take his frustration out on some online gaming. Stepping into the complex, the landlord saw him pass by and told him, "Hey Greg. Got mail for ya."

He soon handed him the mail, waiting for him to take it. Greg just looked to the mail and knew what it was… "Fine…" he said as he took it from the landlord's hand. Just as he was about to leave, the landlord turned to him and told him, "Hey! Don't forget! You're rent is due next week. I take it the interview didn't went well, huh?"

Barnes groaned and hated when he reminded him of two things, rent and interview. "Don't get me started." he said very upset about it.

The Landlord sighed and told him, "Well, keep your head up, I'm sure you will a job soon enough. Who knows, maybe that opportunity will hit you when you least expect it."

Gregory walked away and waved hit letter off him. "Yeah, yeah… Like that will happen."

Heading to the elevator, he took it up to the fifth floor, and headed to his apartment. When he approached the door, he could see the eviction notice on the door and groaned to himself. "You don't have to remind me." He said to the door. Opening it up, he entered his apartment complex, which has a small kitchen, filled with dishes and leftovers, a living room that looked to be a bit of a mess with research papers of future and previous job opportunities, a bed room with an unmade bed and articles of clothing scattered about, and a bathroom that hasn't been clean in weeks. Seeing the place, he breathed in relief and said, "Home sweet home. Well… If only for a while."

Approaching the kitchen, he opened the mail and could see bills for final notices on water, electricity, heating, and many other things. He groaned and didn't like it all. "Terrific… Not only do I have to deal with the mortgage on my apartment, but also my utilities. This day couldn't get any worse for me."

Tossing the mail into the bin that is already filled, he went to the fridge and grabbed a beer and some leftover Chinese food. Heating the food into the microwave, he headed to the sofa and sat there, looking at the laptop of his previous interview. Closing it, he groaned and said, "It's just not fair. I have more experience then those youngsters in their multiple degrees and know the work field inside and out. How is it possible that they get lucky and I don't." Slouching down, he knew that one day, he will be homeless and there's nothing he could do about it. Looking to his Xbox one controller, he decided to do some escapism for a temporarily moment. "Oh well… Might as well let out some aggression on some online players. At least I will feel better for doing that."

Getting his controller, he turned his system on and searched for his favorite game. Skimming through the selection, he saw the picture of Tracer with the title, 'Overwatch' on it. Now Overwatch is one of his favorite games in the online community. Sure there would be controversial things that was going on with Activision and Blizzard, but at least he can still play it no matter the issues with the company. Turning on the game, he went to the quick play option and selected his character. Now there are a lot of good characters to work with. However, there is one character that he felt like is the best in his eyes. Tracer.

Now tracer is a spunky and brave soldier and while her size and health are miniscule, nothing would compare with her combat prowl ness. While being the fastest of the group, she also has time manipulating abilities with the help of chronal accelerator, a device capable of keeping Tracer anchored in the present. Because of the device, it gave Tracer the ability to control her own time, allowing her to speed up and slow down at will. Those said abilities include Blink, where she would skip through seconds of time and is great for combat, and Recall, an ability where if she lost a lot of health, she can reverse time and regain that health in a few seconds. Combine that with her dueling Pulse pistols and her pertinent and effective Pulse Bomb, and she is quite the quick fighter. And for Greg, she is the best character of the game.

"Man… That Tracer is sure something." He said to himself, "Young, spunky, and very tough to beat. Kind of makes you wonder why most of the players don't wish to play her. Controversy aside, she's an all right type of gal."

When he selected his character, he is sent King's Row, which was his favorite map in the came because of the close quarters that will give him the edge against the competitors. Knowing that he's going to be on the offensive, he laid back and has a beer, waiting for the game to start.

"I'll play a few rounds before I call it a day. At least it will make me feel better before the reality of my situation starts to set in. sigh… I just wish that I lived in the world of Overwatch and not real life. At least I don't have to worry about the difficulties here."

Course what he didn't know is that his wish is about to come true. See, the recruitment program on the game states that a player must win 100 games and defeat 100 players without dieing. Already, he managed to not die for the past 99 games and have a few kills left before reaching the hundred mark. Which means if he beats this game, then he will get what he wanted.

Once he was at the waiting room for the game to start, it looked like that he was going to play offensive and he took a good look at who's on his team. Already, it appears to be a well-balanced team. You have Reinhardt with his shield, Bastion with his turret, Mercy for healing, Soldier 76 with his scouting abilities, and Widowmaker for sniping. "Hmm… This seems like an equal team I got here. But looks won't be much as the fighting is what matters. Let's see how they play fair." He said with a bit of concern.

After a minute of waiting, the game started as his team made the charge to Big Ben to secure the payload. Once they arrived, another team was heading to them and the battle for control has begun. Already, Greg could see what the opposing team comprises of. There's a Sombra for stealth and hacking, a Winston for barriers and rage, A Symmetra for shields and heavy defense, a for nuclear tendencies, A Reaper for close quarters combat, and a Hanzo for archery. Seeing this team, he got a little nervous and said, "Sheesh… Look that this team. They got quite the hard hitters. I need to be careful around them, otherwise my perfect streak would be at risk."

And so, the fight begins between two teams trying to gain control of the payload. Greg's Tracer soon zips around to avoid Sombra's and 's fire. Once she was behind them, she fired two full clips on the hacker, killing her in the back. soon turned around and fired her rockets at the scout. With the blink fully charged, she retreated and gains shelter into Big Ben. Once he picked up a health kit for his character, he zipped up to the second floor to survey the fight. Already he could see Reinhardt using the shield to provide cover with Soldier 76 behind him taking the opposing team out with bullets and rocket fire. Meanwhile, Bastion was at a good camping spot and has his turret armed to mow down Symmetra and her mini turrets while trying to take out Reaper. And he soon saw Mercy rushing to Rienhardt's aid to heal him.

"Hmm…" he pondered, "So far the fight is even. But that won't matter if we don't capture the payload. Going to need a strategy to clear the area."

The moment he thought of that, he could see Mercy getting sniped by an arrow. Looking up, he could see Hanzo up on the walkway sniping at a distance. Seeing that, he knows where to start.

"And I think I know how to clear the way." he said.

Quickly, he used his Tracer character to zip away from the archer's fire. Getting back into the building, Tracer climbed the stairs and reached the walkway Hanzo was in. Once the character got to him, she used her dueling weapons and fired right at him. Hanzo felt that and turned to see Tracer going for the attack. He quickly sidestepped out of the way and used one of his abilities to fire a barrage of arrows right at her. Some of the hits got her, but her health started to get dangerously low. Seeing this, Greg smirked and knew what to do.

"Oh no you don't!" he said to Hanzo.

Hitting one of Tracer's special abilities, she recalled and went back, restoring all of her health. She soon fired another round and killed off the archer. Once he was down, Widowmaker from Greg's team came in and took his place. Looking on, he was relieved that the sniper was on his side.

"Good thing you're on my side, otherwise, it would've been embarrassing." He said to her. Looking down, he decided to clean up the mess. "Now, let's begin securing the payload."

His character started to jump down and was already behind the group. He soon started to shoot them to get their attention and they turned to see Tracer standing there. Under cockiness, he did a pose that angered them and they started to fire. Tracer immediately zipped around a couple of time before hiding to recharge. That gave his team the advantage as they were charging to take the point. They were able to take out Reaper, Sombra, and Symmetra, but Winston and were still standing with the gorilla placing a barrier on the floor, while the pilot used her defense matrix in deflecting the shots. Greg looked to the scene and has to help in some way. Looking at Tracer's abilities, he could tell that they were fully charged. But also, her main ability is close to a hundred percent.

"All right! Time to blow them away!" he said in excitement.

With everything fully charged, he uses his character to zip towards the two and place a Pulse Bomb on Winston. Using recall to go back, she watched as the two were close to each other. Once the bomb ignited, he destroyed the barrier and knocked their health extremely low. This gave his team a chance to finish them off. The group uses their weapons and abilities to start attacking. The barrage killed Winston and destroyed 's mech before she ejected to use her pistol. But it wouldn't be enough as they took her down in a few short seconds. Soon, the area was cleared and the group got a team kill. This gave them time to take the objective and the payload. Everyone crowded together to take their spot and set up defensive with Bastion on turret and Reinhardt protecting him with the barrier and Widowmaker on sniping duty high up. Tracer soon joined in and Greg felt accomplished with his work.

"Ha! Those bastards didn't see that coming." He said completely happy with what he did. "We got this objective in the bag."

Already, the objective was 2/3rds up and was reaching the circle. Just then, they could hear the sound of sniper shots above and knew that Widowmaker has made contact with the team and was slowing them down. Greg heard that and knew what it meant.

"Sounds like Widowmaker found the team coming back for more. We can't let them take the payload back. Let's go." He ordered.

His character zipped three times to go ahead and survey the damage, while Soldier 76 and Mercy followed her for support. Once they entered the skid row of London, she could see Winston, Reaper, and Hanzo approaching the main street with no sign of the other half.

"There's the first half… But where's the rest?" he asked himself.

Quickly, he fired at the group, trying to aid the sniper in slowing them down. Winston quickly placed another barrier to protect him and his team while Reaper and Hanzo fired at her. Tracer quickly zipped twice to avoid their fire, but when she was going to go for the third, it didn't work. That is because Sombra appeared from behind her and hacked her to temporarily disable her abilities. Greg saw that and could tell that he could be in big trouble.

"What?! No! Shit! I can't be defeated yet! Not now!" he said in a panic.

His Tracer is going to die and his streak will be broken. But thankfully, Sombra was hit in the back followed by a barrage of bullets that took her out. That was when Soldier 76 came in to rescue her and Mercy flew to her aid, giving her some health after almost dieing. Greg took a sigh of relief and was glad that he was still in the game.

"Phew…" he responded, "That was close. A few moments and there goes my credible streak."

Once the hacking was gone, Mercy switched her stream to boost Tracer's damage. Seeing that, he was ready for some serious payback.

"All right you sons of bitches… My turn…" he told them.

With that, Tracer zipped around them and went for their backs. At the same time, he heard the announcer saying that the objective was complete and the payload is being escorted.

"Hmph… Sounds like we got the payload. Now all we have to do is escort to the point of entry." He said with a questionable thought, "Still, something's not right. If we got the payload, where are and Symetra? It's not like them to not be in front of the action. Unless…"

With worry, his character zipped back to the path where the payload would go through to see if his fears were true. That's when he saw Symmetra camping with a teleporter in place and turrets on the arch frame. Not only that, but is already set to ambush the payload.

"Oh shit! We got some campers that are going to ruin our fun." He soon got serious and said in a pun, "Not on my watch…"

He soon zipped his character to Symmetra and loaded some lead to her. She soon targets the teleporter and shut it down, preventing any players from coming out of it. Symetra saw that, turned to her and fired a bream right at her, damaging her completely. Quickly, Greg used recall to fallback and heal up his character. Then going around the other side fired a full load on and her mech. The pilot turned and fired both submachine guns and missiles at her. Tracer quickly zipped back and got into cover to protect herself. Looking at the gauge, Greg could tell that was already close to completion and was ready to remove the defenses. Looking at the arch, he noticed Reinhardt and Bastion riding the payload to the archway and didn't realize they are walking right into a trap.

"Crap! They are going to be ambushed! I better destroy that ambush now before they are gone for." He said feeling nervous.

But as he was thinking about that, started to rush to his character with her boost and tried to trap her. She quickly blinked to get out of the way and hurried to the trap. The moment the Pulse Bomb ultimate was full, she reached the archway and threw the bomb right at the top. Recalling back, the bomb exploded and destroyed all of Symmetra defenses. Seeing that, Greg was pleased with his plan as the payload passed the arch.

"Good. That oughtta do it. A second longer and we won't be able to past the payload." he said with relief.

Turning back around, he could see was still standing and has already set up the self-destruct sequence to blow his character up. In a panic, he zipped his Tracer to safety before it can blow up. Once it was done, Tracer rendezvous with the payload as Bastion took out Symetra from the side turned to take out the first blockade that comprises of Winston, Reaper, and Hanzo as it took out the barrier and mowed them down completely. The three tried to take it down, but Reinhardt protected it with his shield. Once they were in the clear, Soldier 76, Mercy, and Widowmaker joined in as well and the group was keeping the payload protected. Greg looked to the sight and was happy that he and his team was going to win.

"This is not bad." He said to himself, "We managed to hold ourselves for this long and we are just halfway there. I must say, maybe this is the chance we might be able to win this one."

They were getting close to the checkpoint and thought they have everything under control. But when they were getting close, the enemy team came out of the checkpoint and defended it completely. Winston boosted up high and landed on top of the payload and pushed the others off the vehicle. Tracer quickly zipped away as Reaper appeared and performed a Death Blossom to mow the team down. Some managed to survive, but others weren't so lucky. Reinhardt got his shield up to protect himself from the assault while Widowmaker launched herself to the highest roof and launched a trap to the ground to weaken them, followed by a couple of sniper picks. Tracer got to safety and picked up a small health kit to fix herself up. Greg could tell that didn't expect that at all.

"Damn! Didn't see that coming. Those guys really don't want us to win. Better hurry and hold them back until the rest of the team can return." He said as he used his character and come out and surveys the damage.

Checking it out, he could see Reinhardt protecting himself from the barrage of Sombra and Reaper, but the shield was starting to weaken more and more. He had to do something so he sent his character around the building to get behind the two and fired multiple shots right at their backs. They all felt that and turned to fire right at Tracer. Nearing death's door, she recalled and vanished, going into hiding while recharging her health. But she just distracted them as Reinhardt gave the charge and plowed through both of them. That charge, he caught Sombra and smashed her to the wall, killing her completely. Meanwhile, Reaper phased into a ghost and floated away, just to find a place to hide and get some health while he's at it. Greg watched on and decided to move on to the next bout.

"That will do it for the two. Now to help Widowmaker with her problems." He said.

Zipping to get to the top of the building, he could see the sniper trying to take out the rest of the team. But as she was doing that, Hanzo was behind her from the distance and pulled his bow back, ready to deliver the killing blow.

"Oh no!" he said in shock.

Zipping to him, Tracer fired her pistols and kept the archer at bay. Hanzo turned to her and fired another barrage of arrows to her. She soon zipped around three times to avoid the hits and pumped more lead to him. He avoided it as much as possible, but it wouldn't be enough as made a break for it and fall back to get healed.

"Yes, yes. That's right! Run! Runaway as fast as you can. It's no wonder why Genji beats you constantly." He insulted the player playing the archer.

Tracer soon rendezvous with Reinhardt and she could already see him duking it out with Winston, who was in his enraged state. With the situation being graver, she dived in and joins in the fight. She blasted him with her pistols, but it wasn't going to be enough. But it got the gorilla's attention and turned to her for a fight. Greg saw him do that and decided to play a little game of Cat and Mouse.

"Catch me if you can you dumb ape." He said in a cocky manner.

He soon used his character to zip away as Winston gave chase, giving Reinhardt and Widowaker time to get on the payload and moved it to the checkpoint. Tracer kept on running and zipping to get away from the enraged gorilla. Of course, what he's really doing is keeping him busy until his ultimate is depleted. So as his character was zipping, Winston's ultimate was drained and he has no more rage left in him. Tracer turned back to see no more anger on him as Greg smirked.

"What's wrong?" he asked the player playing Winston, "Can't Hulk out anymore?"

She soon got her pistols out and fired away at him. Winston soon got his barrier up to protect him while using his lightning gun to spark her. She could feel that and her health started to get dangerously low. Thankfully, she used recall to bring back her health and got back into the action. Just enough time for Solider 76 to return and attack from behind, using his rockets to weaken the barrier and then used his machine gun to break it apart. Once it was broken, the two team up and assaulted the gorilla, bringing him down in mere seconds. When it was over, Greg saluted the player playing the veteran soldier.

"Thanks for the assist." He told him, "Didn't think I can handle it on my own."

Just then, the two heard the announcement that the payload has reached the checkpoint. Which means, he's one step closer for another perfect match without dying.

"Huh… Sounds like we actually made it to the checkpoint. That means we have to push to our objective. Let's get down there and help the rest of the team." He told the soldier.

He soon zipped his character to the entrance of the facility with Solider 76 soon following her. The two managed to reach the facility and could see that everyone is pushing forward to get to their endgame. Bastion was on top of the Payload as he loaded a chain gun of bullets at the enemy force while Reinhardt used his shield to protect him with Mercy behind giving the bot a boost stream for more damage. At the same time, Widowmaker was at a sniping position to snipe at those who were out in the open. He could also see that the opposing force was trying to push them back with Reaper, , Sombra, and Symetra was going for the offensive in the front while Hanzo was on the top area for his own sniping maneuvers. Seeing at the fight, he decided to join in on the fun.

"Damn… Looks like they are pulling all the stops. Betting join in on the fun." He said.

Zipping to the payload, Tracer and Soldier 76 joined in and fired everything they have. Pretty soon most of them were using their alts to start attacking. Soldier 76 used his tactical visor and targeted anyone in open range. The sensor moved to Hanzo as he was taken out easily and falls to the ground floor. But before the soldier can take out some more, Symetra started to place a huge wall barrier to protect her team from the assault. As that happened, Sombra tossed a small portal device and it was flying into the air. Greg could see that and knew what it meant.

"Crap! That can't be good." He soon told the others, "Fallback! Sombra's about to do something bad!"

He soon ran and zipped his Tracer to safety and wondered if anyone listened. But it was too late as Sombra's teleporter landed behind Reinhardt's shield and she teleported behind. When Sombra appeared, she used her alt and to hack everyone and shut down their abilities. When she did that, boosted and activated her self-destruct sequence on them. Few managed to make an escape, but the others weren't so lucky and they were blown to dust. The pilot was about to send her mech back, but Tracer appeared out of the blue and took her out quickly before she could call on the mech. She was down in a few seconds as the others saw her and decided to fire on her instead. She zipped away and was getting into cover. But the group knew the facility well and tried to block her. Sombra went to one end and Reaper went to the other opening, trapping her completely. Tracer managed to get a health kit to heal up, but was trapped between the two and with no way out. Or was she trapped? As they were about to hit her, she recalled and went back behind Sombra. Then she fired her pistols and took the hacker down easily. Then she zipped back to avoid Reaper's line of fire. Of course, being that she is near the respawn area, Winston came in and jumped slammed her, pushing her back. She almost got close to the edge of an open floor and was about to fall, but she zipped to safety before trying to defend herself. Hanzo soon joined in and was about to arrow her in the head, but she used her last zip to avoid the shot and retreated into one of the halls. Greg started to get nervous, as he was cheating his own death in the video game.

"Man, this is getting intense." He said with concern, "I really need to be more careful around here. I'm in enemy territory, after all. So I can't get too cocky around here. I need to keep my winning streak in tact."

Once the blinks are refilled, he zipped his character three more times so we can get away. Getting on the catwalk, he could see a few of them managed to survive and was moving the payload. But Symmetra was still there and was placing turrets on the walls and floor to slow them down. Seeing that, he had to do something and jumped down to take on the perfectionist on his own. The Tracer character started to shoot her, but she avoided it and fired her own beam. The scout soon zipped around and avoided the beam with it hitting her a few times. Her recall was still charging, so it would be a matter of time that she would die. But before that could actually happen, Mercy came in and saved the day. Giving her a health stream to heal her up. When switching to a boost beam, Tracer has more damage and took out Symmetra with a couple of hits.

Greg was relieved and said, "Sheesh… Cutting it close, huh. Thank goodness Mercy saved me, otherwise my streak would be ruined."

The payload soon headed to them and they can already see Bastion and Widowmaker on it. Obvious Reinhardt and Soldier 76 were the casualties of the nuclear blast of 's mech.

"Hmm… This is bad. We have no heavy and our soldiers are down temporarily. Meaning we have to pick up the slack. Let's hope the opposing team doesn't respawn soon." He said with the sound of concern in his voice.

They all rode on the Payload as it turned to the corner to see the endpoint in a middle of the room. As they were getting closer, the opposing team started to appear on both ends and started to defend their point. Winston placed a barrier as Hanzo was in the middle, getting some clean shots. , Reaper, Sombra, and Symmetra were on the other side and were shooting at them as well. The three immediately went into cover behind the Payload to protect themselves from bullet fire. At the same time, Bastion was still on top of the payload as it was in its turret form to hold them back. Mercy, who was behind the payload, used the damage stream to increase the bot's power and if he's low on health and couldn't repair himself, used the healing stream to fix him up. It won't be enough as even if the payload is getting closer, it will be difficult in finishing up the fight with them holding it. Looking ahead, Greg could see Symmetra starting to place turrets on the walls and ceiling. Seeing this, he knew that they must act now before it's too late.

"God damn it! These guys are pulling all the stops to prevent us from reaching that end point. Have to assist the team in some way." he said to himself.

Blinking away from the payload, she headed towards the nearby turrets and shoots them down. Sombra notice that and went invisible, going after the scout. Meanwhile, Tracer zipped around, trying to take down as many turrets as possible, not realizing the danger what was about to come to her. Looking back quickly, Greg could see the payload getting closer and knew they were going to win it.

"Almost there…" he said with anticipation, "Just a little more…"

Ultimately, Sombra appeared in front of his character and began hacking.

"Shit!"

He managed to kill the hacker and be done with it. But it was all too late as she was successfully hacked her and prevented her from blinking or recalling. Which means that he's a sitting duck at this point.

"No, no, no, no! Not here! Not now!" Greg immediately panicked.

It was then that , Reaper, and Hanzo ganged up on his character and were about to attack. But when they were giving him a few hits, they were all immediately taken down by a one-hammer strike. That was soon followed by a saving Reinhardt charging in and knocking all the competitors in the process, pinning Hanzo and squishing him completely. Mercy soon joined in and healed Tracer to prevent her from dying. Greg too a sigh of relief and was glad that was adverted.

"Okay… That was too close for call." He said a little out of it.

Once Tracer got her abilities back, she zipped back and joined the group on the payload. Everyone was already there and they are pushing hard to get to the end. Soldier 76, Widowmaker, and Bastion were shooting in all three directions while Mercy returned to heal and boost the players. , who was already damaged, decided to pull it off and boosted for another nuke ability. The group realized that and braced for an impact. But Reinhardt got in front of them and placed his shield down, blocking the blast in mere seconds. Everyone was safe, but the shield was badly damaged. But just as they thought they have everything covered returning Hanzo, who saved up his ultimate, fired the double dragon move to clean them up. The group started to spread out to avoid getting hit and it nearly misses them. Bastion soon got back on the payload and focuses on the archer that tried to eliminate him. Winston soon enraged and pounced on the group and separated them all, with Bastion getting the impact of it. He was moving around, thrashing his arms around and beating anyone that's close by. At the same time, Reaper appeared and initiated the Death Blossoms and tries to plow them down. Everyone scattered and tried to best to hold the opposing team off. Meanwhile, Tracer noticed the payload and it was just a couple of feet to the point. The group was busy as they were hitting and killing each other. With Symmetra on standby and placing all the turrets on the payload to prevent them from moving it, Greg has to do something to get there.

"Well, this is bad. My team is preoccupied and Symmetra is setting up defenses around the payload. And we were so close too. Looks like it's up to me to win this." He said with a lot of confidence in him.

Looking to all of his abilities and ultimate all charged, he decided to push through for the win. Blinking to Symmetra's position, Tracer firing right at her as the perfectionist fired back. They both duel for a little bit, but it was the scout that was the victor as she took her down with ease. With the remaining blinks with her, she zipped to the payload that the turrets were attached to and threw a Pulse Bomb on the side. The turrets did damage her, so she recalled and fallback while regaining health. That recall saved her as the Pulse Bomb detonated and took out the turrets on the one side. This gives Greg and his character the chance of a lifetime.

"This is it! It's now or never!" he proclaimed.

Zipping back, Tracer went to the side that didn't have the turrets and pushed it closer to the spot without the opposing team knowing. But they will notice that the payload will inch closer and will return to take her out. Greg looks at the payload bar and knew that he was inching closer to a win.

"Almost there… Just a little bit further…" he said with his heart beating faster.

Already the team knew that he was taking the payload to the point and charged in with their weapons armed and having their sights set on his character. They were about to strike now before it was too late. But just as they were going to take him out, the screen slowed down and a victory title was in the middle of the screen, signaling Greg's team was the winner. Seeing that, he jumped off his seat and celebrated.

"Yes! That's right! In you face, you bastards! I win! Wooo!" he celebrated.

He looked to see who became the Play of the Game in the match and could see his own Tracer standing there triumphantly. As it turned out, it was when his Tracer used the Pulse Bomb on the objective and with the opposing team in the middle of it. Seeing that play, he was impressed by what he did.

"Hmm… Not bad for a Play of the Day. Then again, I did my best." He said to himself.

He soon picked up his beer and started to drink it up and paced back and forth while the game showed the after match status.

"Got to admit, that was one tough fight." He said in deep thought, "I thought for sure that my streak would be destroyed. Thankfully, the team was functional enough to save me and the keep the match going, otherwise it was all for nothing. Not to mention that I have a lot of pent up anger in me with another turn down for a job interview. I just hope that my next interview would go as smoothly as that match on Overwatch. If I don't… sigh… Well… Then I might get started in finding a homeless shelter close by to make a permanent residence in."

As he was drinking his beer, he turned to the screen and noticed something off. Normally, the game would either take him back to the multiplayer menu or go to the next game. Instead, there is a message window with a title that says…

'Congratulations aeroturbo9x! You have won 100 matches and eliminated 100 players without dying. Click here to claim your special reward.'

Below it is a single button that says, 'Claim' and no other button to cancel or decline. Greg looked to the window and finds that to be a bit odd.

"That's strange… I never seen that message before." He said curiously, "Wonder what it is. Some kind of super rare character skin no one knows about." After thinking about it, he decided to check and see what this special prize is. "What the hell… Might as well check it out anyways. I mean, a hundred wins and kills without dying? That's quite an accomplishment in it of itself. Wonder what my prize is?"

He soon picked up his controller and hit the button to accept his reward. But as he clicked on the button, the screen went dark and nothing else came out of it. Greg blinked and was a bit confused about what just happened.

"Hey! What gives!" he demanded. "Did the game crash or something? Aw man… And I worked so hard on that reward. This sucks!"

But as he was getting upset about the situation, the TV started to get a little static and looks like it was getting stronger. Greg could see that and was getting even more upset.

"Argh! What now?!" he said getting more angry by the second. "Don't tell me my TV is on the fritz. What else can go wrong?"

The moment he said that, a bolt of lightning came out of the TV and hit Greg in the chest. He felt that and screamed in shock. But it didn't kill him nor did he feel any pain. Instead, the bolt of light started spreading across his body and he was levitating in the air and his eyes were glowing white. It was then something completely strange has happened.

First off, his professional suit started to disintegrate into nothing, including loafers and underwear, leaving him completely naked. Once his clothes are gone, his body started to change physically. First, his body started to regress by around ten years as he went down from his thirties to his twenties. Next his hands and feet started to grow small and delicate with his fingers beginning to thin and his nails grew a few inches with polish on the surface. Then the hair on his arms and legs sunk right into his skin and grew thinner and looking to be shapely with additional toneness like that of a professional runner. The hair on his chest and stomach soon sink into his pores and left his skin completely clean without any blemishes. Greg's chest started to tingle as his nipples begins to poke out and fat deposits grew around them, becoming pointy cones, then A cups before settling in to slight B's. His gut begins to flatten and his hips expand a little, creating feminine curves on his waist. His butt started to round out and plumped bit by bit to give him a bubble like appearance. His penis soon started to erect itself upwards and started to grow smaller, with his balls popping into his body and forming a slit. Once the shaft went into the opening, his productive system started to alter and created a womb from inside.

His, or her, worn out face youthen as faint lines and ruggedness faded away. Her face soon went into a metamorphosis as it was molded to look more feminine. Her nose, small and petite, her face oval and smooth, her eyes between innocent and mature, her lips thin and slightly puffy, her ears small and delicate, and her Adams apple shrunk into her neck and disappeared. The gray streaks vanished and her hair was back to its shiny luster. But then, her hair did another metamorphosis as well. For one, her hair lightened into a dark brown like color. Then her hair grew out and went down her neck. Finally, the hair was lifting itself up and restyled into a spiky cow licks like look with a few bangs around her face. Pretty soon, Greg wasn't Greg anymore, but instead became a female character she is awfully familiar with.

Once the physical changes were done, the next change started. A few more sparks came out of the TV and began hitting him in various places. First, a bolt hit her chest and wrapped around the upper part of her body, reforming into a fitting sports bra. Then another bolt hit her lower waist and went around her butt to create a tight fitting running shorts. The next beam hit the upper body again and spread all around her arms and down to her waist, refitting into what appears to be a flight uniform with a stitched emblem that says, 'Tracer' with a pair of wings sticking out. Two bolts hit her hands and spread all over and create a pair of pilot gloves. And then another two hit both her lower arms and wrapped around them, expanding to create compartment/armor plating for two specific pistols. A bolt soon hit her lower area and spread down her legs, tightening into what appears to be a customize skin tight orange latex pants with strings on the side to tighten, straps near her crotch area and upper leg, and a 'Tracer' name on the side. Two more bolts started to hit her feet and wrapped around them to form a pair of customizable white running shoes. And then an energy bolt hit her face and covered her eyes, going around the back of her head and made orange goggles to protect her face from winds while running, followed by a few more on her ears to create some piercing. Finally, one more energy bolt hit her chest one more time and wrapped around her flight jacket. When it appeared, it was some kind of contraption with blue lights on the front and back. As it turns out, it was a chronal accelerator, the same device used on her favorite character.

Once the new clothes appeared, the final two energy bolts came in and went to both sides of her head. It was then that the energy beams were providing her information. Everything from combat, mannerisms, body language, and other characteristics was inserted into her brain while at the same time, keeping her old memories intact.

Once the changes were done, the glow around Greg's body faded and she immediately dropped to the floor, landing on the sofa. She groaned a little after that shocking experience and wasn't aware of what has happened. At least until she said something and rubbing her head from the headache she currently has.

"Ugh… Bloody Hell… That was quite a shocking experience. I thought for a second that I was about to…"

Almost immediately, Greg noticed that her voice was completely off. She couldn't put her finger on it, but it sounded very feminine, and British.

"Huh… Is that my voice? Why does it sound so weird? In fact, it almost sounded like…"

Almost immediately, Greg realized who she sounded like and had to see for herself.

"I… I need a mirror! I have to see for myself!"

Getting off from her sofa, she has to head to the bathroom to see what she had become. But the moment she wished to hurry, Greg immediately zipped to the end of the wall and crashed into it, taking her coffee table down with it.

"Ow… That hurts… A lot…"

Steadily, she walked towards the bathroom to get a good look at herself. Approaching the mirror, she flipped the switch to turn on the light. When she did, she got quite a shock of her life. Starring in front of her wasn't Gregory Barnes. Judging by her voice, her look, and her uniform, she has become her favorite character in Overwatch. She's Tracer! Blinking and rubbing her face, she pulled a Macaulay Culkin and screamed out so loud, that the neighborhood would hear her.

"What in the name of the Queen?! What is this?! Why am I Tracer?!"

So many questions were running through Greg's/Tracer's head and wondered if what happened to him was all a dream, or has the lightning coming out of the TV did kill her. Pinching her cheeks, she knew that she wasn't dreaming or isn't dead. This is all real."

"I…" she started to grip the situation, "I can't believe it… This is really me… I'm really Tracer…"

Walking out of the bathroom, she looked at her hands and was still processing what recently happened.

"I have become my favorite character, body and all." She said.

Gregg/Tracer soon placed her hands on her chest and gave them a good squeeze. "Whoa! Those are really hers!" she said feeling a little flustered.

She then proceeded to touch her crotch area and was immediately turned on at the feel of it too, while realizing what happened to her lower area. "Blimey! It's… It's gone too!"

Stopping herself, Gregg/Tracer looked to her chronal accelerator and started to wonder something. "Hmm… Wonder if I have her moves as well?" she asked as she traced her finger around to the rim of the blue light. Looking to the end of her apartment, she smirked and said with confidence, "Let's give this body a test drive, shall we?"

With that, Gregg/Tracer got into a runner stance and took off. When that started running, she blinked and went to the other side of the apartment. She staggered a little when she stopped and nearly lost her footing. Looking back, she started to smile and was starting to like it. "Whoa! Now we're talking!" she said as her confidence started to rise. "Let's have another go!"

She soon zipped to the other end and this time has some form. She soon blinked all over the place, getting used to her ability. Once she was done, she stopped behind the couch and in a heroic stance and was ecstatic with her moves.

"Ha, ha! That was so wicked!" she said with so much happiness in her voice. A major difference then the shock she had just moments ago. "Wonder what else I got."

Standing up, she looked to the compartments on her arms and remembers she had a pair of Pulse Pistols in her possession. Flipping her arms, the compartments opened up and her pistols appear, letting her hands grab them before they fall off. Her eyes were wide and were surprised she has those weapons. "Now that's more like it!" she said as she looked to the counter filled with empty bear bottles and cans. Seeing that, she got into a shooting stance and used both her pistols to fired full clips at the objects on the table. In a few brief seconds, most of the bottles and cans to taken off the table and shattered to pieces. Once the pistols were emptied, she was amazed at what she did.

"Now that's what I call a clean up! Though there are a few more still standing." She thought as she came up with an idea. "Hmm… Let's see if a Pulse Bomb can resolve this."

Getting behind her back, she could feel the grenade like behind and grabbed it. Arming it, she tossed it to the counter and it stuck on the side, in front of her, and close to her position. Seeing that, she realized her mistake and knew she messed up.

"Oh dear…"

She soon crossed her arms and was ready for the impact. The moment it exploded, she was pushed back from the impact and hit the couch, tilting it in the process and crashing into the table filled with trash and beer. All that was left from the aftermath was a destroyed kitchen counter and a bruised ego. Greg/Tracer groaned and slowly went to her knees, feeling pain from the blast.

"Ow… Well that just happened." She said in pain. "Note to self, don't throw a Pulse Bomb in close quarters. Definitely could to be feeling that in the morning."

Just then, she remembered what she had one more ability in her arsenal. "Oh, but of course! I still have Recall on my belt."

Thinking about it, her accelerator glowed bright and the energy surrounds her body. Almost instantly, she was going backwards, getting off the broken table and over the turned over couch. Once she was back up, her health has returned and the pain was all gone. Looking to herself, she smiled and said, "Much better."

Leaning on the turned over sofa, Greg/Tracer started to get serious and was curious how what happened to her actually happened. "Hmm… This is all well and good, but how did this happen? Why in the world have I become Tracer." She asked herself. She soon retraces her steps to see how she is what she is. "Let's see… All I remembered is that I was playing Overwatch. I was doing well on the game. Then I got that message that I beat the game a hundred times and killed a hundred opponents without dying and claimed my reward."

Just saying that, she realized what happened.

"That's it! That message! That's what turned me into her! I claimed that reward and that beam changed me!" she exclaimed.

She soon wondered if that TV or the console was still on and checked to see if anything changed. When she did, she could see that there was a new message that appeared, and a pretty long one at that. It reads…

'To Gregory Barnes (aeroturbo9x),

Thank you for entering our Overwatch Recruitment Program. Created by the Pentagon and Blizzard, this program is used to turn the top players in the Overwatch community into soldier characters based on the game. When choosing your character and playing 100 matches and eliminating 100 players without dying, you are immediately recruited and turned into the very character that you played, complete with the skills and body language. You still have your own memories, but you need to have the body and combat necessary to apply for the job. As for the job itself, it's about a double-sided working environment. Not only will you be in the field protecting our country from terrorists and stopping crime, but also you will be an official mascot for Overwatch in conventions and promotions. Emails will be sent directly to you for either orders from the military, or openings in promotional opportunities. You will be paid for double duty, higher than any job you will have. From all of us from Blizzard, thank you and enjoy your new life protecting the World and promoting our game. We hope to speak to you shortly.

Dev Team'

Reading the message, Greg/Tracer blinked and was a little confused about that.

"Huh… Overwatch Recruitment Program? Never heard of that before." She said in confusion, "Maybe it was a top secret thing. I mean, if this program was created by the military and Blizzard, they have to keep it under wraps. Still… It doesn't explain why I have turned into Tracer."

Walking away, she soon thought about what the message said.

"However, the fact that I automatically have two jobs seems like a dream come true. Fighting wars could be a little dicey, considering this is real life and not some video game that I can respawn. But the fact I can promote the game with this body, I can deal with that. And they said that the payment for both positions is higher then any job I was trying to interview for."

Approaching the trashcan, she took out the bills and rent she just tossed and smiled a little bit.

"Not to mention that I need the money so badly. So why not? Risk my life and get paid? I'm gamed! It might take a while to adjust to all of this, but it is going to be fun. There is one question though…"

Greg/Tracer looked at the damage she has caused with her pulse bomb and was a little worried about something else.

"How am I supposed to talk to my landlord about… This?!" she asked.

Just as she asked that question, she could hear a hard knocking at the door followed by a familiar voice.

"Greg! What's with all that racket?! Are you playing those games again?! I told you to not play them with the volume on blast! It disturbs the neighbors! Open the door right now! We need to talk!"

Hearing that, she turned around to realize that it was her landlord, and by the sound of it, he's pissed. Gulping, she knew that there was no way out of this one.

"Oh bugger me…"

That is the first recruit for the Overwatch Recruitment Program. As you can see, this is how it will all play out. Someone will play the game, beat it with the certain requirements, and is turned into the character they play and immediately recruited. There is the question as to how they get turned into their characters complete with skills and body language, but I don't want to think about it too hard. And as I stated before on the last chapter, I will be focusing on the female characters and not the males. I feel like there are enough female fighters to have a unit to fight. So don't be mad at me if your favorite male character isn't in the story. Now stay tune for the next chapter where I will be introducing the second recruit. I'm not going to tell you who it is or which female character the person is playing. You just need to wait and see for yourself. Please Review. #WherearetheGoodCartoons?
