Thanks to for M3rr13, who suggested italicizing the flashbacks, I don't know how I didn't think of that before. No sarcasm, I swear.

Happy pride month and remember to always...

Chapter 2: Becoming P2 ()

"Are you saying that if we get hit, we're going to get sent to some random point in our lives?" Krell blurted out.

"Were you not listening? Because those are the exact words that came out of my mouth, not ten seconds ago," Blinkey glared.

Jim snarled, getting everyone's attention. "FOCUS! What's our best bet?" His head turned to the black haired boy, with the blue streak. He never liked Douxie. Now he liked him even less. He didn't like wizards at all.

"You aren't going to like it," he replied in his stupid acent.

"Spit it out!" Jim growled.

Douxie sighed. "A direct attack from all directions, his magic has to be very focused. He can only shoot one at a time."

"You are suggesting sacrifice?" Aja asked slowly.

"You're right, I don't like it." Jim growled louder.

"Don't like it, only chance." Arg put a hand on the smaller blue troll's shoulder.

"The one who gets closest delivers the blow." The stupid acent again. Coming out of his stupid face. With his stupid bracelets, and stupid blue hair.

He must have been staring.

"Jim, can I help you with something?"

Giving him a turnt smile, he barked.

Blinkey looked at Jim disapprovingly.

"Your face is stupid, I don't like you. I don't like your plan. I'll do it on one condition though."

"And what's that?" Douxie asked, confused at the trolls' dislike for him.

"Claire goes nowhere near this battle. And you make sure that no harm comes to her. I don't want him anywhere near her."

Douxie nodded. "I agree to your terms, not that she will."

"I don't care, she means everything to me. And I will NOT allow her to be hurt more by this man."

Jim woke with the sound of a thud on the floor above him, then Toby's exclaims of excitement. He let a quiet bark slip, then listened as a few minutes later, Blinkey and Arg entered.

He thought of revealing himself now, but then remembered how hard it was for the other three to hide when his mom came home. So he waited, listened to the amazing speech he would repeat tomorrow at the tryouts.

So he waited some more, and dang was he bored out of his mind.

For some reason, he had to see Claire. So he followed himself to tryouts.

Just being able to scent Claire… It had only been a few days, but he missed her so much.

The love of his life. His mate.

He feared what would happen if he had a night terror and she wasn't there to bring him out of it. Or worse. What if he never made it back to his Claire. He couldn't have the one in this time, she was going to end up with human Jim.

And he hated it.

Everyone ooed and awed as his human counterpart finished. And his heart melted at how she looked at him. Well, not him, but him. The other him.

He snarled and left the building, he made his way to where Bular would attack them, and waited some more.

He was really starting to hate waiting.

"That was amazing! You were amazing! I'm amazed at how amazing you were!" Toby exclaimed. He laughed at his stout friend.

He could smell Bular, and he saw him approach in the shadows. As his counterpart turned the corner, both boys palled.

"But I am now."

Bular gave his spill, roaring and stomping around and all that. Jim could end him right now, and it frustrated him to no end that he couldn't.

Soon enough they were hiding behind the truck, human Jim couldn't get the amulet to activate. To this day, he still doesn't know why.

"He's gooood at maaathhh!" Toby exclaimed.

At the time, he didn't realize how funny that statement really was.

Then something that was NOT supposed to happen, happened. Bular grabbed Toby while he was trying to squeeze through the alley.

He stood, unsure what to do. And with nothing else to do, he jumped. Roaring to gain the gumgum's attention. Aiming both feet directly at his head, causing Bular to go down hard. Toby was flung into the air.

Without losing momentum he sprung off of Bular's face, caught Toby, and leapt over Stuart Electronics. Human Jim was panicking at the loss of his friend. Then when he saw Toby was safe sighed in relief. But paused when he saw the troll carrying him.

Before questions could be asked, Blinkey and Arg came out of the bushes.

"Master Jim! Ha-ha!" Blinkey said.

"Bular's trying to kill us! He chased us all over town!"

"And you're still alive. I knew you had potential, Master Jim."

"You have a sweet voice, but you bring death with you!" Toby scowled.

"Whose friend?" Arg grumbled.

"ME?" Human Jim looked confused at Troll Jim. "I thought he was with you?"

"Does it matter!" Toby yelled. "He totally saved me!"

Bular rounded the corner and roared violently.

Jim dashed forward. "It doesn't matter right now, just know I'm here to help. Let's get to Trollmarket." He pushed the two trolls and picked up Toby and himself. Throwing Toby to the Krubera. "Arg, catch." he said.

Blinkey asked about Jim donning his armor, and he replied in the negative. Finally, they reached the canals. Everyone giving him confused looks when he dropped himself at the top and continued down as Bular neared.

"What are you doing?" Toby yelled. "You carry him the whole way and drop him to be troll chow?!"

Jim turned on his best friend and growled. Seeing he was scaring him hurt. He softened his face and focused on himself again. "Jim can do it, I know he can. He just needs to focus."

Bular rammed into the human Trollhunter and the armor formed around him as he crashed into the canals. Minutes later, the two humans were panting for their lives.

"A life of almost…" "is a life of never." Jim echoed the historian.

Gaining a six eyed glare, Blinkey spoke. "Ah yes, the earlier mystery. Who are you?"

"Someone who can actually fight trolls, not just run." Toby huffed, indignant.

"Pacifist," Arg grumbled.

"Waste of hulking brute," Toby said.

Arg thanked the boy, and the other human spoke.

"Not that I'm not grateful for you saving Toby, but yeah, who are you?"

Jim smiled, his large, sharp teeth showing. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you. So for now, just someone who can help."

"Can we get a name?" Toby asked.

"Hmm, not yet."
