Sally mentally slapped herself with all of her strength. She'd do it in real life, but the vines had sort of locked her completely in place. Of course, that's why there hadn't been any noise the other night, how evil Sonic had breached their defenses, even with Nicole watching, why Tails had been acting strange since he came back. Because it wasn't Tails… he just looked like Tails.

But in Evil Tails' eyes… Sally saw a glimmer. A glint, a slight flash. One she knew all too well. An Admiration for the hedgehog. One that had developed after getting to know him.

Sonic was… rough… to meet. He tended to be arrogant and abrasive. Which had made Sally more than annoyed with him. But once she got to the deep, hot core of Sonic, she found him to be lovable. He was annoyingly arrogant, but when push came to shove, he was first to protect everyone.

And now, that knowledge seemed to reside within this fake Tails, who smiled at the hedgehog, "I…enjoyed our time. You're a good friend… But I have to do this."

Sally felt herself get a little angry, but she controlled herself if for no other reason than to keep the thorns from cutting into her deeper.

"I know." Sonic muttered, still in shock. He needed to snap out of it. "I'm glad I got to meet you."

A rude, loud laugh erupted from Evil Sonic, "You can't be serious. No one would want to meet this lowly piece of trash."

Evil Tails slumped and drooped. His eyes wandered to the floor as Evil Sonic continued, "He's as pathetic as they come. Most of the guys I revived, they were all big and strong and "Fight to the last breath". This little runt begged me to kill him after one day!"

Evil Tails slowly walked over to his master.

Sonic's voice rose up, "You take that back!" He seemed to have been jarred by that statement, "He's a good friend! Is he a little shy, Yeah, but he had my back when no else did!" Sonic defended.

Sally was… blown away to say the least. She expected Sonic to be mad. She was.

Instead, Sonic was defending the honor of his enemy.

Evil Tails perked up, his eyes glittering once again, as blood dripped off his face.

Evil Sonic snorted, "Knuckles, put him in his place."

Evil Knuckles, balled a fist, and flew at Sonic. Sonic was at least fast enough to avoid Knuckles, until the second blow connected. Sally and Sonic were both stunned.

Evil Knuckles, tossed Sonic across the room into a wall, cracking it. Sally wanted to call out to Sonic, but she couldn't.

She heard a weird… whimpering, and saw that Evil Tails had frozen next to her, and was watching the whole thing go down, as Sonic was tossed onto a table, before Evil Knuckles smashed it.

Sonic wasn't slower than Knuckles…. Which meant… She turned and saw it. Brief flashes where Evil Sonic would disappear and reappear.

Sonic was fighting two opponents at once.

Hang in there… Help has to come eventually. Sally pleaded. There wasn't much hope, though. Who was going to help them?

/*-*/

Even as she returned with the slump of failure, she wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. If she needed to, she would fight off the ghost forever. She… loved her nephew.

As Fiona walked through the door, she decided to revisit. Her life. She'd been born in a noble family, given a dress and bow, and been taught to be a sweet little trophy wife. Robotnik seized control of the kingdom, and captured her. She hoped for a white knight to rescue her. Sonic failed to rescue her, which broke that hope. She wanted revenge, so she decided to date Sonic, then betray him. That put her on the run, which resulted in them sitting at the kingdom's border. They were ambushed by the Wolverine, which sent her to the village. Oswald sent her to prison, which reunited her with her brother.

Fiona had… quite the ups and downs. She'd changed, or at least she hoped, for the better. Even with sun setting to her back, Fiona felt like a new day was coming.

Frederick was sitting in aa chair by his room, he seemed relaxed. Fiona was concerned the he'd had mental breakdown, but as she walked up to her brother, he smiled, "Ah, Fiona, did you find the marker?"

Fiona shook her head, "No, I've checked everywhere, there was nothing out there."

Frederick's smile softened, but he nodded, "Well… It may be best if we get Alister away from here."

Fiona frowned, a little off guard, "Wait… You want to leave Alister?"

"I think he needs to leave. The marker limits the spirit's range. He can't follow Alister past a certain point." Frederick explained.

Fiona thought for a moment. That made sense… kind of. Something felt off.

"Alright, I'll go get him." Fiona muttered, feeling nervous. She had to remind herself that the spirit could come at any moment. Even as she opened the door to Alister's room, she could feel its evil eyes watching her.

Alister was sitting on his bed, looking at his bandages. Or rather, where the bandages used to be. Two guards eyed Fiona nervously as she walked in. Alister was looking at his scabbed over hand.

Fiona sat on the bed, "Hey… we've decided to move. We're going to take you somewhere the spirit can't hurt you." Fiona smiled.

Alister looked up from his hand, and showed her his palm, "It's not bleeding anymore."

Fiona blinked, "Yeah… you'll heal from almost anything eventually."

Alister looked down at his hand again, "I'm amazing."

Fiona smirked at his fascination. Has he never been cut before? Fiona continued to realize just how different the lives of kids were going to be.

She shook herself, "Look, your dad and I need to get you out of here."

Alister looked back up, "Ok…" He jumped down, and Fiona took his hand. They walked down the hallway to his father.

Frederick smiled at them, "Fiona, can you watch the house?"

"No way, I'm not letting him out of my sight." Fiona called adamantly.

Frederick frowned, but nodded, "Right, I suppose that was to be expected. You've been a good aunt. I guess we can go together."

Fiona nodded. The fact that he would think she was going to let Alister go alone… was crazy. They walked outside, And Fiona stuck with Alister the whole walk.

They took a left, and followed the wall, before taking… another left. They were tracing the wall? Fiona saw the tree she had searched. The pile of branches was still stacked.

Fiona froze. Something wasn't right. Frederick…. Something was off. He'd called her Fiona. Frederick only referred to her as Aria. She came to realization too late. The rasp of a sword leaving the scabbard filled her ears.

"You really are predictable." Frederick's voice chuckled, slightly deeper.

Fiona turned around, "What… what are you doing?"

"It's pretty obvious. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. This poor stressed out fool had a mental break down. Unfortunately, he would kill both his son and sister in a crazed attack." The Ghost laughed.

Fiona balled her fist, and took a step back, "Why are you doing this?" She was stalling.

Her possessed brother smiled, taking a step forward, "My master needs blood. His servant marked the child, so I'll give him the innocent blood to restore his power. It's that simple"

Fiona stepped back further, "You think I won't fight back?" She stepped back against the pile of sticks.

"You'll hurt your own brother if you do." The Evil voice laughed, "You can't win this…. One."

He was knocked off balance. Something Had made him nervous suddenly. His eyes were on.. the stick pile.

Fiona looked over.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" The spirit was nervous and angry. He began to walk faster.

Fiona saw it. The bright branch she had dismissed earlier… it was completely out of place. It came from a birch tree, not a dark oak. Why was it near a dark oak… unless someone put it there.

Fiona lunged and grabbed it. Alister looked up at her.

"Now…. Now…" Frederick's voice was panicked, "Let's not get… hasty."

Fiona held the branch to her leg. She could see, thinly cut onto it, was circles and triangles with shapes cut into them. An engraving. She put it to her leg, which caused her brother to freeze.

"Y-You wouldn't banish me… I'll leave you alone… I promise." The spirit proposed, "You wouldn't hurt a surrendering person… would you?"

Fiona frowned, "Sonic wouldn't." He would tell it to get lost.

The spirit made her brother smile, "See… now let's calm down and talk." The spirit took a step forward.

"I'm not Sonic." Fiona smirked, smashing the branch over her knee.

"Wait!" The Spirit cried as the branch split in two. Her brother shrieked and wailed, his arms flailing, and smashing against the wall. Fiona covered Alister's eyes.

Finally, Frederick collapsed. Fiona walked over, and felt his neck. He was breathing. He'd live. It was over

Johan trudged around the house, walking patrolling the area once again. He looked out every window, and scanned the area. Cream sat in the main room, preparing dinner for them.

Johan smiled at the thought, he was hungry. They did not have much to feed someone of his size, but he could not leave the young rabbit. He was sworn to protect her until she was of age.

Johan saw the rose on the table. The enchantment radiated from it like a cloud of death. Johan hated magic as it stood. This rose had brought him much trouble.

He felt the slight tug on his tail. Johan stood on hid hind legs and saw his little rabbit looking up at him. She was nervous. He had been projecting his guard to her. She thought that he saw a threat. Johan lowered himself down, and wrapped his arms around her. He began to lick the top of her head, cleaning off the dirt that had stuck to her fur.

The truth was, a threat was coming. Johan knew restlessness, he understood what happened when cities had plenty of free citizens with empty time. They were coming, because as time passed, their window to act shrank.

Johan saw something move out of the corner of his eye. A Wolf had stepped into the alley. Johan pushed the rabbit off and ran to the doorway, frightening the young children. He sat up at the window to the outside, and gave his fierce gaze.

The wolf saw him, scowled. He did back off though.

Johan kept his gaze on the alley for a few more moments. His vision… was not particularly great. But he recognized shapes that continued to pass around. They were looking for opportunities to attack.

Johan growled a little.

"It's time for dinner." The old possum softly stated. She sounded nervous, because she could tell that he was notably cautious about the outdoors.

Johan stayed at the window.

"Is everything alright?" The woman asked, she could tell there was hostility in the air.

"They will attack soon." Johan growled.

"They aren't soldiers at war. They're just people." The old caretaker tried to lie to herself.

"They are men with idle minds and eager, zealous hearts. They won't stop." Johan growled.

"I'll, bring you a plate." The old possum sighed.

Johan stayed at the window, and watched the alley ways.

Even as she brought the beans and eggs, Johan maintained his stance. He could not leave, and risk a possible dishonor of his oath.

So he ate, and watched the alley.

A bright light came from the street. Johan tensed up, and heard his teeth go into an instinctive growl. A series of glowing flickers. A chanting mob of people.

Johan licked the plate clean and prowled out the door.

"We will help! We will help! We will help!" The crowd chanted mindlessly. They were but sheep, thinking that they were righteous.

Johan growled.

A fox stepped forward, "Give us the kids!"

Johan snarled, ready to fight. He was actually…. Reluctant. It was strange, but simple: There was nothing to gain. He could eat them, he mussed, but otherwise, fighting here would objective hurt him in every way. Still, a man who backs down is no man at all.

Johan was not restricted to bloodshed, however. He would try to reason with them, "Can you not see how vile your souls are? These are innocents, you cannot strike them!"

The Fox shouted, "If we don't take them, our princess, and the Freedom Fighters will die!"

Johan shook his head, "The vile enchanter will kill them anyway. You merely give him more power."

The crowd wavered somewhat.

The Fox, however, was clever, "Or he'll leave? He doesn't have reason to stay here! Bring us the kids!"

The Crowd was reinvigorated, shouting at Johan.

Johan frowned, "Very well… I shall return." He walked inside, but not for children. He saw the rose at the table, and grabbed it. The children who hadn't gone to the windows now followed him outside.

Johan's large body squeezed back through the doorway, with the rose in his hand.

The mob looked nervous. Even without their exposure to dark arts, they could tell that there was something terrible about the rose.

Johan set the rose at the top of the stairs.

The fox licked his lips nervously, "What is- what is this?"

"This is the cursed rose. If you wish to soil its petals with children, come forward. Anyone who wishes to kill these children shall have their blood added to the rose as well. So I tell you again, back down!" Johan roared.

The fox flinched. The mob with their torches sitting idle for the first time, seemed to understand his inability to retreat, his commitment. They themselves were clearly outmatched, even with their numbers.

The fox shook his head, "Sir Sonic… is a good man. He does not deserve to suffer. These kids will suffer growing up. We're helping everyone."

Johan snarled, "You claim he is a good man yet he suffers. I assure you; he suffers because he is not a good man. A good man does not bend to temptation or kneel to pressure. He deserves his suffering, for if he were smarter, he would have destroyed this rose."

The Fox's face was not supposed to be angry, but acknowledge the truth. Instead, he got very angry and grabbed a torch. But Johan was faster and stronger.

He swung his paw and struck the fox in the torso. Not at full strength, because if he did, the fox would have died. Instead the fox flew into a set of boxes, which completely demoralized the mob.

The Possum was horrified, perhaps from his strength, perhaps from the horrible justification from the fox. Either way, Johan needed this to end. He gazed at the rose, and picked up. "I will do what Sonic should have done."

He tossed the rose into the torch, the crowd watched, the fox watched, the children watched. The rose caught fire, it's petals and leaves burning, and the stalk slowly charing, withering and crumpling into ash, to the horrified look of the fox's pained face.

Johan hoped he was right, but if not, so be it. He would not concede on this front.

Sonic was not having a great time. He wasn't exactly in the most stable mindset, with Tails turning out to be another dimensional version of himself. He was getting tripped every time he tried to dodge evil-Knuckles, and to make matters worse, his evil twin was taunting him the whole time.

"What's the matter, are you slowing down." Evil Sonic laughed.

Sonic was doing great to just hear that over the growing ringing in his ear, as Evil Knuckles punched him in the face once again.

Sonic staggered back, and fell down. The nice soft… tile ground… maybe he'd take a nap.

His eyes looked at Evil Tails who looked at him such a guilty, pained expression. Sonic should have hated him. But Sonic didn't see an enemy spy. He saw Tails, a little guy who'd grown up without Sonic, a little guy who'd been beaten and bullied into a submissive puppet. Sonic smiled at him, and flashed a weak thumbs up.

"Oh come on. Just stay down." Evil Sonic groaned.

Sonic shook himself awake, avoiding Sally's desperate eyes, standing up to face Knuckles again.

Then…. Something strange happened. The vines that had grown Up Sally, Antoine, Rotor, and Amy began to turn dark… yellow… sickly. Then they crumpled into dust.

Evil Sonic froze, evil Knuckles froze, But Evil_Tails… had a soft, sad smile on his face.

Amy looked up and down herself and looked over at Rotor, "Can we move?"

Rotor walked forward. Sally immediately bore her grit teeth, "FREEDOM FIGHTERS! ATTACK!" She pointed triumphantly at Sonic's evil twin.

Evil Sonic looked at Evil Knuckles, "FINISH HIM OFF!"

Evil Knuckles raised his fist, when a cry went out, "NO!"

Suddenly, a black ball of fur slammed into Knuckles, knocking him to the ground.

Sonic felt the room freeze. Sally and Rotor looked nervous. Amy and Antoine looked confused. Evil Sonic just looked mildly annoyed.

"Miles, what are you doing?" Evil Sonic sighed.

Evil Tails uncurled, and was slightly shivering, "I-I'm done. I'm done with you, and everything you want. You're a terrible person, you only hurt everyone." Evil Tails balled his shaking fist, "You took Amy from me, you took my Family from me, you took my life from me. I won't let you do that to anyone else."

Evil Sonic had an amused smirk, "Oh… Wow… you are so brave. Tell me though, how are you gonna stop me."

Evil Tails, or Sonic would probably have to call him Other-Tails, flinched down.

Evil Sonic laughed, "Some how, you are so smart you're stupid. I'm the only reason you are alive! Did you forget that, or do I have to put my thumbs in your throat once again to remind you."

Other-Tails gulped, rubbing his paws around his neck. Sonic had an uncomfortable feeling about this…

"That's, right now sit down, I'll make you punishment quick and painful!" Evil Sonic laughed, earning a chuckle from evil Knuckles.

Sonic Walked up next to his interdimensional little buddy, "Hey… I get it. It's not fair to ask you to fight for us." Sonic patted his shoulder.

Instead of Other Tails running over to Evil Sonic's side, he turned and looked at Sonic. The two exchanged a stare, and Tails said everything he needed to. He wasn't going to back down, he wasn't going back.

Sonic nodded, "I'll run support."

Other Tails Charged at Evil Sonic, who dove in. Sonic Saw Other-Tails fly back, but he was busy. He circled around Evil Knuckles, Who swung a fist. This time, Sonic didn't have an annoying doppelganger tripping him. Sonic whip around, and dove into Evil Knuckles' stomach, sending him flying. Blood gushed out of his eyes.

The Echidna growled, "Hold still!"

Sonic saw Sally moving, So, he gave the echidna his wish, "Alright." Sonic said, on the opposite side of Sally. "Here I am, come and get me!"

Evil Knuckles growled, and threw a punch, right as Sally's blade cut through his leg. "Gah!" Evil Knuckle shouted in agony, and dropped to the ground. He then… Started laughing, "I'm dead. You can't exactly hurt me."

That would complicate things. Sonic ran an scooped up sally right as a fist struck the area she had been at.

Sally nodded at Sonic.

Other-Tails had Rotor and Amy, who all seemed to be having a hard time. This was not looking good.

Sonic dove at Evil Knuckles, and knocked him into the wall, before circling back to face his twin.

Evil Sonic seemed to be too quick. Even though Sonic's Tails was pretty quick, this Tails didn't seem to share that factor.

Still through grit teeth and bloody eyes, he was fighting. Sonic felt mildly inspired.

He was the cavalry, and He came in, right as Evil Sonic was going in for a kick. Sonic tripped his doppelganger, which Gave Amy enough time to bat him across the room.

Evil Sonic slammed into the wall, and Sonic doubled back around to find Sally cutting into Evil Knuckles fingers. He wasn't pulling away.

Sonic ran straight at the distracted Echidna, and spindashed into him. Most of Evil Knuckles went flying, but a small piece fell on the ground. It was half of his hand.

Evil Sonic zipped around, and picked up Evil Knuckles, "Alright… Let's even the odds a bit." Evil Sonic snarled, reaching into his quicks, and pulling out a ring.

Sonic started to run at him, when He threw the ring at the ground. Sonic stopped for a moment. The ground began to rumble violently. From the tile floor burst a boney hand, followed by a decomposing body of a mobian.

Other-Tails muttered, "Oh no…"

"Oh… you remember teaching me this little trick?" Evil Sonic laughed, "Yeah… let's see how you deal with this."

Sonic smashed the boney corpse. The rumbling did not stop.

Sally called out, "Tight Formation!" The Freedom Fighters moved around to create a square.

Sonic and Other-Tails, however, pursued the now fleeing Evil Sonic and wounded compatriot.

Sonic found his foe on the top of the hill.

"Are you good?" Evil Knuckles growled/asked. He actually sounded worried.

"I'll be fine… I just need a breather." Evil Sonic panted. He seemed… really worn out.

"Fat Chance." Sonic growled, jumping up to the top of the hill. Other-Tails followed.

"Ready for a rematch, you dark red idiot!" Sonic shouted.

"I'll force those words down your throat." Evil Knuckles snarled, his hand still dripping a strange black ooze.

"T-Time out." Evil Sonic pleaded, seeming pitiful for the first time. He was gasping.

Sonic stayed on guard, but Evil Knuckles… looked worried. He placed a hand on Sonic's doppelganger's shoulder.

"You never got your wound treated." Other-Tails muttered.

"I DID!" Evil Sonic shouted, causing Knuckles to back away.

"You… really are low on power…" Other-Tails looked horrified, and… nervous for him.

"SHUT UP!" Evil Sonic shouted angrily. His eye bled more in fury and anger.

Other-Tails shook his head, "I taught you to everything you know. You can't keep this up. Just… give up… leave. I'm sure they'll let you." Other-Tails pleaded. Was he really going to just let this jerk walk away.

Other-Tails looked at Sonic curiously, almost begging. Sonic nodded, "Just this once. If you agree to leave and never show your face around here again… I'll let you go."

Evil Sonic seemed to think for a moment, as his breathing stabilized, "You…. You know… maybe I should leave."

Evil Knuckles seemed shocked, "Wait… Seriously?"

"Nah… but it was funny. They might have actually fell for it." Evil Sonic laughed, and got low.

Sonic ran straight at Evil Knuckles, slamming himself into the Echidna, knocking him to the ground, before circling around to Face his evil twin, but found Other-Tails seemed to actually be holding his own.

Evil Sonic zipped towards the fox, but was caught off guard when Other-Tails spun around and hit him in the stomach with his appendages. The other hedgehog went flying back, skidding down the hill.

"GRR you stupid worthless freak!" Evil Sonic shouted, his eyes bleeding aggressively, with grit teeth and an shaking head. His head was vibrating… almost… wrongly. Evil Sonic suddenly clutched his head tightly.

Other-Tails softened, "You sacrificed your health ring for one good summon tome. You can't keep this up. We both know that. Just leave…. Please."

"I WON'T LOSE TO A PATHETIC FREAK LIKE YOU!" Evil Sonic roared, panting once again, "I'll give you one last chance. You know you can't last without me. So come on back, and I won't punish you."

Other-Tails flinched, but shook his head, "No…what ever happens… happens. He's worth it." A little bit of blood dripped out of both their eyes.

Sonic stepped forward to protect the black-furred Tails.

Evil Sonic stood up straight, when Evil Knuckles limped between them, "I think…. We need to cut our losses." He panted.

Evil Sonic softened at the sight of the red echidna, missing half a hand, battered and bruised, cut and beaten. Then he hardened once again, and without a word, he curled forward at his Tails.

Sonic curled into a ball and slammed into him. The two "struggled" for only a moment. Evil Sonic was out of strength. He flew back, sliding across the ground.

Sonic uncurled, and saw the pained look on Other-Tails' face. They were still his… long time friends? Bullies. He felt bad, after everything he endured.

Evil Sonic growled, snapping Sonic out of his thoughts. "Fine… good luck lasting without me." Evil Sonic groaned, and placed a hand on Evil Knuckles'. The two suddenly… faded.

Sonic watched until there was nothing left of them. Were they gone? Dead? Sonic wasn't sure what to hope for. Instead he heard a crash, and Sonic perked up. Sally and the others!

Sonic ran down through the new base and burst through the mess hall. The bones and rotten flesh were sizzling, much to Amy and Antoine's disgust. The risen dead… were dissolving.

Sonic felt a tackle from the front as Sally landed on him, "YOU'RE ALRIGHT!" She cried out.

Sonic laughed from the floor, "Yeah… I'm good…." He felt his ears ringing a little from being pounded, but he was alive.

Sonic saw the black fur in the doorway. Other-Tails looked happy, nervous, and sad at the same time.

Sally followed Sonic's eyes and stood up. The freedom Fighters followed behind her. Other-Tails flinched, as if to brace for an attack.

"So… you saved Sonic huh?" Sally smiled, "I guess we owe you."

Other-Tails looked down, "I'm the reason he was in trouble. I don't exactly belong here… but…can I…" He trailed off.

"You're welcome here. We're always looking for new members of our family." Sally smiled softly.

"It's going to be weird with two Tails around." Rotor snorted, "I could always use the extra hand."

"Two… TAILS!" Sonic shouted, suddenly realizing what had happened. Tails was…

"Follow me." Other-Tails suddenly looked depressed, and…scared.

Sonic stood up, and the freedom Fighters walked outside. Other-Tails turned around and looked at Sonic, "Look… I need you to make a giant ring with your arms… Please…" Other-Tails asked, his fur and ears bowing in submission.

Sonic stretched out his arms, and locked them in an open circle, "Like this?"

"Perfect." Other-Tails smiled, before surging forward under Sonic's arms. He wrapped his arms and tails around Sonic in a tight, loving hug.

Sonic was caught off guard, but closed the ring around the fox, holding him.

Sonic heard him whisper, "Thank you… Thank you for being my first friend…. You're a good person."

Then, Other-Tails broke the hug, and backed away. Sonic was confused as to what was happening. Other-Tails turned around, and spread his arms. His body locked up…. And Sonic felt the wind pick up around them.

A crack appeared in the air, followed by the shattering of a chunk of sky. A yellow ball of fur flopped down onto the ground. In uncurled to reveal an unconscious fox.

"Tails!" Sonic shouted and ran over, to pick up his little buddy. He pressed his ear to Tails' nose. Air was flowing. He was alive.

Sonic heard Sally gasp.

Other-Tails' voice rushed across the field like a banshee's shriek, "Please don't forget me."

Sonic tensed up, and slowly turned around. Other-Tails had doubled over, and was convulsing slightly. Sonic set down his little buddy to rush over to his other little buddy. Sonic scooped him up, "What's wrong!?"

Other-Tails smiled weakly, as his body began to shake, "Please don't forget me. Let me have…. At least one friend… please…"

"B-Blood. You need blood!" Sonic realized that was what Evil-Sonic needed, "You can have mine!"

Other-Tails shook his head, "A world…. Without you…. Is worse…" He didn't finish the sentence before gasping, "Please… don't hurt anyone…."

Sonic slowly nodded. He'd used all his power to bring Tails back. Sonic hoped those would be his last words. Sonic held the fox, and did his best to give him all of love and brotherhood that the Fox had missed his whole life.

Other-Tails started to gasp, strained and hurting, "Please… Don't let me go… I don't want to go just yet…. Please." Blood tears poured out of his eyes.

Sonic held the Fox tighter as he continued to gasp, "Please… I don't….want…to…go…"

Sonic wished the Fox would have died like in story books. A sprinkle of dust, and slowly vanishing. Instead… Other-Tails' body began to shrivel up… like an old man… withering away from starvation. His legs crumpled, and the Fox's expression told Sonic that he could feel everything. The full moon magnified the anguished face of the fox.

Then His waist, and torso, and then…. Nothing….

Sonic held the air…. He couldn't hear…. He couldn't see anything around him. He was holding nothing…. But he still held the image… Was he imagining it? Was it there? He didn't know, he didn't care….
