So I was watching the Fairly OddParents episode 'The Boy Who Would Be Queen' yesterday and I thought 'Butch Hartman really wasted a golden opportunity to develop Trixie Tang's character'. Well, for the 20th anniversary of Fairly OddParents, I'm gonna right the wrongs that Butch committed with Trixie. I hope my fellow Trimmy fans like it. Let's go!
Date - June 7th; Trixie Tang's 11th Birthday
Tonight was Trixie Tang's birthday party. Timmy Turner had just revealed that he likes the soap opera 'Kissy Kissy Goo Goo' and the 'Skull Squisher' comic series to Trixie, the girl he's pined for since he was 7 years old. But rather than eject him like she usually does, Trixie whispered in Timmy's ear...
"Meet me in the backyard in 10..."
A blush overtook Timmy's face as he smiled in confirmation. Minutes later, he's outside in Trixie's massive backyard, where the object of his affections awaits him.
"Hey, Trixie..." Timmy greeted.
"Oh, hey Timmy!" Trixie gleefully responded as the duo walked over to a nearby gazebo and snuggled up to each other. "Timmy, I thought it was real sweet what you said to me earlier," she started. "That's all I ever really wanted for my birthday - a friend who likes me for who I am," Trixie confessed.
"Trixie, I never knew you had it so rough with the popular crowd."
"Believe me, it's worse than you think. Tad and Chad just like me for my body and Veronica, just between you and me...Veronica's kind of a spaz."
"Yeah, no need to tell me twice!" Timmy remarked. "Guess that comes with being a ditzy blonde."
Trixie gasped then giggled at Timmy's snide comment about her so-called best friend. "OUCH! Language, Timmy! But nice burn, nonetheless..."
Timmy snuggled into Trixie's arms and stroked her silky raven black hair, looking into her sparkling blue eyes. "You know, Trixie...it's actually occurred to me that you share your birthday with a famous teen hero..."
Trixie perked up at hearing this from her new friend. "Really? Who?"
"Kim Possible..."
Trixie smiled and grabbed Timmy's shoulders. "Timmy, you have no idea how much I LOVE Kim Possible! I've literally tried to model my entire life after her! She is my idol, Timmy!"
Timmy chuckled "That I can believe, Trixie," he said. "Hey, Trix...about what you said earlier...about dating a boy who admits to liking Kissy Kissy Goo Goo and Skull Squisher..."
"Timmy, I stand by that. I'd date any boy who admits to liking girl and boy stuff, even if they wore a pink hat. Come to think of it, you're the only guy I know who can pull off an all pink outfit...TIMANTHA!"
"Yeah...my parents were so dead set on thinking I was gonna be a girl. Shows you how much they know," Then, it dawned on Timmy that she knew he was Timantha the whole time. "Wait, how'd you know I was Timantha?"
"Really, Timmy? That was just your name merged with Samantha! Plus...the buck teeth gave you away."
Timmy blushed, embarrassed that he literally gave himself away with his girl name. "Not one of my better ideas."
"What was with the crossdressing?"
"I don't know...I was trying to get into the mindset of a girl to figure out what you wanted for your birthday..."
The popular tomboy smiled and hugged Timmy. "Never have I had someone go to such great lengths just for me..." she said as tears welled up in her eyes. "Why was I so mean to you, Timothy Turner?"
Timmy snuggled up to Trixie and held her hair back. "Trixie, you were under the control of fake friends. You can't let them get you down any more..."
"Why did I let them control me, Timmy? Why?" Trixie sobbed into his shoulder.
"I don't know, Trix...I really don't know..." Timmy responded. "You know, sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't see."
"That...that was deep, Timmy..." Trixie said, still trying as she pulled back from her new friend's shoulder and looked into his eyes. "Did you get that all by yourself?"
Timmy shook his head. "No. Got that off of a movie - 'The Polar Express'," he said. "You'll have everything you need, if you just believe..."
"You...you really are my best friend..." Trixie cried, hugging Timmy. "I really thought this would be the worst day ever, but you showed up and gave me what I wanted...someone who likes me for who I am. You made this day magical..."
"Trix...it's not magic. It's getting to know and understand you."
Trixie smiled, wiping her eyes, not caring that her makeup was running. "You know, Timmy...this may sound crazy, but I feel like I've met you before - long ago in Pre-K."
"Did I still have the pink hat and buck teeth?"
Trixie nodded. "Yeah. You did. We used to pal around in the playground every day until 1st grade. That's when my parents' investments hit it big and we moved to ritzy parts of Dimmsdale. I never revealed this to anyone, but I liked it when you came by...it felt like those early memories were storming back."
Timmy smiled and pecked Trixie on the cheek. "Well...I think it's time we make some new memories, Trix."
"I couldn't agree more, Timmy."
With that, the two promised to never lose touch with each other again and to stick by each other no matter what. A friendship was rekindled and now Trixie was free to be her true self without fear of prejudice.
Timantha's been revealed, Trixie's broken free...what could go wrong? We'll just have to find out...NEXT TIME!
Stay Magical, Fairy Fans!
