And now, we come to the next chapter! Anyway, enjoy!
"The story begins with the birth of our heroine, which goes without saying. But, even in the hospital, the day that our future heroine had arrived, her young, little mind told her that she was different from any other kid. Now, despite only being born to the world, and not having the awareness that most babies had, she was a little too young to understand that she was destined for greatness..."
In a hospital located somewhere in the strange land of Charleston, West Virginia, two proud parents were holding a young baby girl as she snuggled close to her mother. The father, wearing a cowboy hat, cooed as he patted the young girl on the head.
"But her parents had a surprise when they saw what their daughter could do. This young woman whose name was... oh, let's just say Connie, summoned a laser from her finger."
The narration proved as such when the father picked up Connie and a small laser popped out of her finger, melting a nearby wall in the doctor's office as everyone looked rather speechless.
"They were quite surprised at first, but they still loved their daughter all the same. A young girl that can summon lasers from her fingertips was pretty much unheard of... yet at the same time, they knew people weren't ready for it... so the doctors attached finger braces to the girl, which, while they did help give control of the powers, were a little too tight for her wee hands."
A few years later, when the young Connie was four, she was walking on a sandy floor, looking quite eager as she was grabbing some rope.
"Of course, the lasers weren't her only powers. When she was four and her parents had moved to Texas for a year for a new job to support the family, they took young Connie to a ranch where she learned horseback riding... and how to swing a lasso..."
The young Connie gave a smirk as she ran over to a nearby horse as one of the adults lifted the young Connie up as she grabbed hold of the reins.
"Naturally, the young girl took to roping right away..."
Connie then kicked the horse by the stomach on both ends as it started to move through an obstacle course that was made specifically for the young girl as she started to swing the lasso and threw it over towards a dummy, roping it up and tearing it down from the ground as she whistled for the horse to jump right through the hoop, as commanded. The adults watched the young girl, very impressed with her talents as Connie then shot another laser from her finger towards another dummy, getting it down in a flash. The others looked astounded, but applauded all the same.
"Yeah, that year in Texas was sure was a blast for the young heroine in training. Although her parents did try to interest her in other things... for example, they did manage to convince her to take a music class as she got a little older..."
Another couple years later, at age seven, inside a music school, a young Connie was walking up to the stage as she gave a cough... before starting to sing a nice, lovely ballad known as "Sextet from Lucia di Lammermoor". In fact, the voice was so angelic that most of the students and the music teacher were listening with rather interest... before the young Connie gave a small smirk before pulling out a guitar and started to play around with it, improvising it into more of a rock tune, causing everybody to jump.
"YEAH!" Connie screeched out in delight as she kept playing the guitar with all her might.
"Music, roping, horseback riding, and laser fingers, all of which were great tools... but sadly, every superhero origin story has to have a tragic way to get the hero to train. The parents... had to die... and how did they die, you ask?"
"It all started when the girl was about ten years old, walking around at the zoo with her family. Oh, they were so happy to be together, they wanted to explore the birds section for a time..."
Inside the bird house exhibit in a local zoo somewhere, a young Connie looked amazed as she noticed all the tropical animals that were flying around, having the time of their lives... the toucans that carefully ate some meals with its big beak, the American woodpecker, which was poking its beak at the trees and a mynah bird... a small little black bird that just walked by the kid randomly while the music track known as Felix Mendelssohn's "Fingal's Cave Overture". Somehow, it had gotten out of its cage and was just wandering off. The young Connie, curious about the bird, began to separate from her parents as she tried to follow it with pure curiosity, leaving her unaware parents behind.
The young Connie walked out of the building, following the mynah bird as it walked down the pavement, occasionally hopping every few seconds. Connie gave a small giggle as she kept a close eye on the bird until it hopped inside a peanut cart. Connie tried to climb up to the peanut cart, but oddly, there was no mynah bird inside. The girl looked rather confused as she tried to search amongst the peanuts, but nothing. However, the peanut cart man who had just came back from his break spotted the young girl as he picked her up and bluntly kicked her out.
Feeling rather hurt, she rubbed her behind as she then spotted the mynah bird popping out from outside the tiger's den. How this happened, the young Connie never knew as she tried to follow the bird again, only for it to get into the kangaroo cage, with Connie following. The mynah bird hopped right into the pouch of the kangaroo as Connie stopped by and squinted her eyes. Curiously, she tried to open the pouch, but no mynah bird was inside... only a small joey that punched her in the eye.
The young Connie whimpered as she went out of the kangaroo cage and rubbed her eye. She then turned around and noticed the mynah bird having just departed from the bathrooms. Again, how this little tiny bird got here was anybody's mystery... Connie lowered her eyes as she began to follow-
PRESENT TIME
"Connie, is this going anywhere?"
The green skinned girl snapped out of the daze for a moment as she turned to Doug, who was doing his best to write it all down. Connie gave a nod. "Yes. Eventually, Connie finds her parents got killed in an explosion while she was following that mynah bird. The young girl counted her lucky stars that she had escaped while she could, but felt down and alone..."
Doug paused as he crossed his arms. "Why didn't you just lead with that instead of focusing on a story involving you following around a small bird?"
"Come on, Doug. It's a little thing called 'comedy'. It's meant to lighten the mood before the big dramatic twist." Connie scoffed. "Come on, as a writer, you would probably know this."
"Just... pointing that out." Doug sighed as he started to write.
"So... anyway..." Connie coughed.
"She was quite devestated when she found the wreckage of the place that was the bird exhibit..."
A young Connie had stood there in shock, looking over the smoldering wreck of the building that had killed hundreds of birds and humans... including her parents. Tears fell through her eyes as she started to hug herself in fear.
"Orphaned and alone, Connie eventually moved in with her aunt in a small country town, who was her mentor in terms of helping through the traumatizing parts of her life..."
A year later, a young Connie was taking a deep breath as she went through an obstacle course her aunt had made for her, showing off the skills she had learned when she was a kid. Connie narrowed her eyes as she used her finger lasers to shoot at some moving targets, then jumped in the air and used a lasso to tie another moving target, before ripping the target out of its machinery and slamming it down. She then hopped over some hoops before crossing the finish line as her aunt was waiting for her, the old woman applauding as she hugged the young girl.
"Her aunt saw potential in this young woman and as much as she... might have enabled her with free treats that... might have gave young Connie the body weight she had, her aunt meant well. Indeed, her aunt didn't just see Connie, her niece. She saw Connie, a hero. She trained her and trained her and even made her a costume. Working at her aunt's ranch during the day, helping out folks in trouble, and enjoying a nice meal at night... gone was the young girl known as Connie... the woman known as Bovine Beauty... was created..."
A few minutes later, the young Connie, wearing the costume that would make her Bovine Beauty, the cowgirl uniform, was examining herself in the mirror as she posed and winked at herself. She couldn't help but give a small smirk.
That's the second chapter completed! How did you guys like it?
