Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Twilight. Obviously.
I've started to get into queensxbella fics and really had to get this out of my head. Honestly, I'm not sure what direction I'm going with this story, but please join me in my unknown journey. Enjoy. :)
Alice was stopped by an Italian cop, saying that no vehicle was to be driven past a certain point due to the festival that was currently occurring. Alice turned to Bella and gave her a pleading look, to go on first without her. Bella bit her lip and gave a nod. She took off her seatbelt and jumped out the car. "I already told you where he'll be, go on and find him, I'll find you guys as soon as I can."
As soon as Bella left, Alice was hit with a vision. She shook her head as her eyes widened. "That was unexpected."
Although the brunette was not athletic, she was trying her very best to get to Edward in time. She had found the specific double doors that Alice described and ran past all the red cloaks. Her eyes widening as she saw the doors open and reveal a distraught looking Edward.
Bella pulled the rest of her strength and ran her hardest. Pushing Edward back through the double doors before any of the red cloaks noticed the shiny vampire.
"Idiot." Bella said angrily as she punched the broody bronze haired vampire, which only caused her to wince at the pain from the action. "Ow!"
"Bella?" Edward's eyes finally opened, and he opened his arms to wrap them around the girl currently in pain. "You're alive."
Bella awkwardly looked around as she was tightly wrapped in the arms of the vampire who left her. "No thanks to you." She said as she struggled to get out of his embrace, stepping away from him.
Edward's face fell and he immediately felt the guilt that had been eating at him. He stepped towards her, trying to hold her again. "I-I'm sorry, I'll never leave you again."
Bella frowned as she kept Edward at arm's length. "I know it'll never happen again, because I won't let you do that to me again."
Edward's face scrunched in confusion. "W-What?"
Bella took a few more steps back, not wanting to be near him. "Edward, I—"
"I hate to interrupt your little awkward reunion, but you are all requested at the throne room." A young girl with the signature red eyes came. She was smirking, confirming that she heard their conversation.
"I guess that includes me as well."
The voice she knew too well-made Bella turn around to find Alice closing the door behind her. Alice, immediately skipped to the human brunette and hugged her tight. "Thank you." She whispered in her ear.
Bella let out a sigh and a small smile, relieved that she made the correct choice. Although she no longer loved Edward, his family made more of an impact in her life than he did. That's why she agreed to go…for them.
The young girl rolled her eyes and cleared her throat. "How tearful…but I don't think any of the queens will be pleased at being kept waiting."
"Queens?" Bella turned to Alice, she was taught by Carlisle that the Volturi was controlled by powerful male vampires.
"Ah! Yes..." Alice linked arms with the brunette as they followed the young Volturi vampire. "There was a change of command in Volturi in the last few months...for the better, in my opinion."
"It was betrayal...there's no loyalty here." Edward said, the young blonde turning her head to glare at the mind reader.
"The Queens are the best thing that has happened to the Volturi, the kings were only loyal to themselves." The young vampire hissed.
Edward scoffed. "Woman aren't meant to be in charge."
Bella frowned at him, not knowing how she could have ever loved anything about him.
Edward's eyes widened. "I-I meant that the Queens are incapable to take care of the whole vampire existence."
Bella's frowned deepened, not liking his prejudice. She just looked away from him, and distanced herself, pulling Alice with her.
Alice snickered at this. She loved her brother, but he did have an old-fashioned mindset. "They're also very stylish."
"So, by queens...there is more than one?" Bella questioned.
Alice smirked and nodded. "Yes Bella, Queens...Three powerful vampires that overtook vampire royalty. I think they'll interest you."
Edward growled as he read his sister's mind. "I don't believe it. Your vision is wrong."
"They're never wrong, brother." Alice said matter-of-factly.
Edward scowled, and anger flared up in him. "This time, it is." He said with determination.
Bella raised an eyebrow at their conversation, the topic eluding her because of the siblings' mental gifts. She turned to Alice, silently asking questions. Alice just lightly shook her head and smiled. "You'll know soon enough."
They stopped in front of fancy grand double doors that opened for Jane and the others. As soon as Jane reached the center of the room, she bowed her head in respect. "My Queens."
Bella, arm still linked with Alice, followed behind Jane, she had this time to observe the queens.
There were three thrones, and three women sitting on them. The woman sitting in the middle her hair was in an elegant bun and she had an air of command, all three did, but the one in the middle had the strongest aura. The woman on her right was also blonde but a little darker than the one in the middle, she also had her hair down in envious waves. She had an air of haughtiness about her, she also looked like she was bored out her mind, probably not wanting to be there. On the left of the blonde with a bun, was a brunette with her hair down, falling in neat curls. Opposite of the haughty-looking blonde, she looked gentler, excluding her ruby red eyes some would say she even looked harmless. The blonde in the middle spoke first. "Thank you, Jane."
Jane moved next to a young man, about the same age as the blonde but was a whole head taller than her. At that moment all three eyes from the thrones turned their attention to the only being with a beating heart. Simultaneously, all three queens gasped, feeling different emotions surge through them as they all looked into the hypnotizing green eyes that belonged to the only human in the room.
Bella had been looking at them but immediately looked down as all three looked her way. She fidgeted as she felt eyes still on her. The awkward teen finally remembered Edward as the broody bronze haired was now growling. "NO!" Edward growled out, zooming in front of Bella, making the brunette look up. "SHE'S MINE!"
The dirty blonde on the right throne, felt an immediate surge of anger at the vampire standing in front of her mate, her red eyes darkened as she glared at Edward. "You dare challenge us?" She asked in a firm but irritated tone.
Didyme had yet to say anything, but she just growled and glared at the bronze haired vampire.
The blonde in the middle put a hand on both queens. "Calm down, Athenodora." The elegant blonde turned to look Bella in the eyes. "You too, Didyme...you might scare her."
At that statement, the angry blonde just clenched her jaw and looked away from the petulant Cullen. Didyme stopped growling and leaned back, but she continued glaring at the ignorant vampire.
Bella blushed as she found herself in a short staring contest with one of the most beautiful woman she's ever laid eyes on, apart from the other two sitting next to her. Then before Bella could pull her eyes away, the elegant blonde turned to Alice. "My, what a pleasant surprise to see you again Alice."
Bella turned to the pixie-like vampire next to her. Alice was just smiling knowingly at her but turned her eyes to the queens on the throne. She bowed her head slightly at the queens. "Queens, it's lovely to see you all as well."
"Now Edward," The blonde in the center said his name with the tiniest bit of venom, glaring at the bronze haired idiot in front of the human. "Step aside, while I'm still being nice."
"No. I will do no such thing." Edward said just as firmly, trying to stare down the blonde.
Before any conflict could occur, Bella stepped aside and forward. Annoyed at Edward's claim on her. Hadn't she told him earlier that they were over? Or were his old-fashioned ways getting in the way of understanding what she said earlier. She cleared her throat but blushed as she realized that the red eyes were looking now at her again. "Edward, stop. I do not belong to you."
All three queens felt pride swell in their chest as they watched the human stand straighter and crossed her arms, slightly glaring at the surprised Cullen.
"B-But Bella..." Edward started.
"No. As I was saying earlier...Edward, We. Are. Over." Bella said each word with finality.
Edward felt anger surge through him, and he grabbed Bella's arm. "No! We're not!"
Bella's face scrunched with pain as he held onto her too tight. Before she could fight back herself. In a flash, Bella was between the elegant blonde's and the brunette's thrones, but they were currently in front of her in a defensive stance.
Athenodora, as Bella heard the leader of the three called her, had Edward pinned to the wall by the neck, cracks slowly appearing.
Alice froze in fear, but knew Edward wasn't in any real danger.
"Stop! Don't kill him!" Bella shouted from behind the other two queens.
Athenodora growled for the last time and dropped him. "You choose to defend this ignorant boy?!" She growled out.
She didn't mean to scream at Bella, but she couldn't help the anger towards Bella's show of protection for the stupid vampire. Bella flinched as the angry blonde directed her anger towards her; but shook it off as she stared back at the angry red eyes.
"N-Not for him, for his family." Bella admitted. "I still care for his family."
Edward was finally up and was about to head for the angry blonde who had her back to him but before he could take a step, he fell screaming in pain.
Jane was smirking at the bronze haired vampire that was now writhing in pain on the marble floor.
"Jane, Alec...take that despicable creature out of here." Didyme ordered.
Once Edward was dragged out of the room, leaving the three queens, Alice, and Bella in the room. Didyme turned to human behind them. "I apologize for Athenodora for yelling at you."
The mentioned blonde just looked away, and crossed her arms, her anger subsiding now that the idiot vampire was no longer in the room, replaced by guilt at getting mad at the human.
"My name is Sulpicia, and this is Didyme, what is your name, dear?" Sulpicia introduced herself and the brunette next to her and she had heard Edward call her name but wanted the girl to introduce herself to them.
Bella straightened her back and raised her head, not wanting to show any fear. Although she probably should have been, she wasn't scared of these queens. She glanced at Alice and saw her friend give a slight nod as encouragement. "Isabella. Isabella Swan."
"Isabella." Sulpicia tested the name out and smiled as she realized how perfect it was for the beautiful human. She held out her hand. "Isabella," She said softly, "I have a gift of reading thoughts that requires touch, will you allow me?"
Bella swallowed nervously as she heard her name being said in a seductive tone. She stared at the offered and gave it a thought. Edward's mind reading power didn't work on her, would it be any different with the queen in front of her. She reached out and took Sulpicia's cold but surprisingly soft hand.
Sulpicia closed her eyes as Bella's hand touched hers, her eyes opening and widening immediately after. "I can't read you...you're a shield."
Bella awkwardly took her hand back and nodded. "That's what Alice told me."
Pride swelled up in their chest at knowledge of Bella's gift. "Well Isabella, that is a very rare gift, and for you to be able to use it now as a human makes it even more special."
"Does this mean you won't kill me?" Bella asked hopeful.
All three queens frowned at this, agonizing pain filling them at the thought of the human dying.
"Of course not!" Athenodora growled out, causing Bella to flinch.
Again, her anger had won out and she looked down guiltily when she saw Didyme's warning look. The brunette queen turned back to Bella, "What Athenodora meant to say was that we mean you no harm."
Bella let out a breath of relief.
"She knows of the some of our vampire rules, that's why she thinks that way." Alice piped up.
Bella squeezed through the queens and ran towards Alice. "If you're not going to kill me, can we leave now?" The human brunette felt so uncomfortable as soon as she looked at each of the queens' eyes and she didn't know why. She wasn't sure she wanted to find out. She just wanted to go back home to Charlie and to her bed, she was exhausted and worn out.
Maybe if she just closes her eyes, she'll wake up back in her bed. Could she really fall asleep with all these dangerous vampires around? Well, they did say they meant her no harm. Should she test it out?
Exhaustion from all the running she did and all the events that happened in the throne room got to her. She closed her eyes and started to fall.
The closest queen, Athenodora, got to her first and caught her before she hit the floor. She was thrilled about holding her mate but also freaked out because she had just passed out. She hooked her arm underneath the girl's knees and carried her bridal-style. She frowned as she looked at her worriedly.
"Don't worry, she'll be fine. She's just tired, she didn't sleep on the plane." Alice reassured the queens.
All three queens felt relief pass through them as the worry they felt went away, mostly. They couldn't help themselves.
"Alice, we'll be sending your brother away, but I see your bond with her…I feel that she'll be more comfortable if you were to stay here." Didyme said with a soft look towards the girl in Athenodora's arms.
Alice smiled brightly, "Thank you for the invitation, I will gladly stay."
Alice suddenly frowned, "But I do need to warn you, she will dislike you making her stay here. She has a father back in the US, my queens, you might have to be patient with her."
All three queens went to their mate and stared lovingly at her. Didyme held her hand ever so gently, rubbing her thumb on the back of Bella's hand. Sulpicia reached out and caressed her on the cheek. Athenodora just tightened her hold on her but not enough to make the girl uncomfortable. The queens looked up to each other and exchanged knowing glances.
They vowed to make Bella understand their love for her and make her happy for the rest of their undead lives.
Alice sat next to Bella as she slept on one of the many bedrooms in the castle. "I do want to remind you one more thing, Bella was made to believe that she was Edward's mate by my brother. And he left her, she won't take in the fact that all three queens are her mate so easily."
"I have a feeling she already feels a pull to you, my queens, but she'll be fighting it because it's unfamiliar and so unusual for a human to fall so easily with people she just met." Alice finished as she gently moved a hair out of Bella's face.
All three queens nodding, they understood that Alice knew Bella the best. So they were willing to listen to the pixie-like vampire.
"Mhhmmm..." Bella moaned softly and turned to her side facing away from Alice.
The queens froze as they heard it, eyes widening at the delicious sound that came from their sleeping mate.
Alice pursed her lips to keep herself from laughing. It was amusing to see the strong and confident ancient vampire to be unraveled by a simple sound from her friend. "Um...I need to make a call to my family...I'll be right back." She thought it wouldn't be so bad if she left the queens with their mate, she knew that Bella would be safe...her purity on the other hand might be in danger from what she could see from the queens' eyes.
Sulpicia took Alice's place and sat next to the sleeping human. All three queens watched as Bella frowned while she tossed and turned. Then she finally stopped turning and ended up facing Sulpicia and the queens. Sulpicia's eyes widened as the girl reached out and wrapped her arms around her torso. The blonde froze as Bella came closer and nuzzled her face on Sulpicia's stomach, she inhaled deeply and let out a sigh of relief as if satisfied with the scent.
Sulpicia felt flustered as she felt Bella's lips through her dress, to be honest her silk dress was so thin, it felt like Bella's lips were on her cold skin.
The other queens felt envious but amused at the scene, never seeing their blonde leader so unsure of what to do.
"St..." They heard Bella mumble, and if Sulpicia was human she would have blushed, feeling Bella's warm lips move against her clothed stomach. "Don't leave..." She mumbled quietly.
It was soft and barely audible, but with their vampiric senses they heard her loud and clear. They pain and anger for their human. Before anything could be said, Bella eyes slowly fluttered open. She was hugging something soft and cold, but she didn't mind it one bit. Finally understanding, she suddenly let go and push against Sulpicia, causing the brunette to fall off the bed. Athenodora got to her in time and caught her. She looked down at a blushing Bella that had her arms around the dirty blonde's neck.
"T-Thank you." Bella stuttered out as she let go of the blonde's neck.
Athenodora just smirked and gently put the girl back on the bed. "My pleasure." She was starting to think that her role with Bella was to catch her every time she fell, and she was completely fine with that.
Bella cleared her throat, carefully looking around the room. "Where am I?"
"Isabella, you are in one of the bedrooms of Volturi Castle." Sulpicia answered.
Bella swallowed nervously as her name was once again said in a seductive tone. "Why are you saying my name like that?"
Sulpicia raised an eyebrow at the human, and slightly tilted her head to the side. "Like how?"
Bella shifted uncomfortable, and blushed. "Like you want to eat me."
"I do." Sulpicia smirked.
Bella's eyes widened as she looked up at the blonde queen's eyes.
Sulpicia gave a soft chuckle. "But not the way you're thinking."
Bella's face scrunched in confusion.
Athenodora smirked and Didyme just giggled. Their human was adorably innocent, the beasts in them flared as they realized they would be taking their mate's firsts, eyes simultaneously turning dark in arousal.
Bella noticed their eyes turn dark and she gulped. She had no idea what these vampires were thinking of. "W-Where's Alice?"
"Here Bella~!" The pixie vampire called out from behind the door.
"She's talking to her mate right now, explaining what happened here." The brunette vampire reassured their human.
"A-And Edward?" Bella asked with caution, glancing towards the haughty blonde, who only crossed her arms and looked out the window.
Sulpicia put a hand on Bella's forearm. "Don't worry dear, we didn't kill him…we simply sent him away from here."
Bella let out a relieved sigh. "Okay, thank you."
"Do you still love him?" Athenodora turned back to her, looking at her piercing red eyes.
Bella shifted uncomfortably on the bed, but she slowly shook her head. "No…"
"Then why care for the petulant vampire so much?" Athenodora asked with a small glared at the human at the center of the bed.
Bella shook her head and crawled to the end of the bed where the haughty blonde was standing. She looked up at the glaring blonde, and if vampires could blush, Athenodora would be a tomato from the straightforward eye contact that Bella sent her way. "It's not Edward I care about…it's his family, they would be devastated if anything were to happen to him."
Like a scolded child, Athenodora crossed her arms and looked away from the green eyes that held so much power against her. "Whatever."
Alice had quietly entered the room without Bella and Athenodora noticing. She internally giggled as she saw a preview of how much power her best friend had for ancient vampires that were feared by other vampires in the world.
Bella finally noticed Alice and finally got up from the bed. "Alice!" She ran to the short-haired brunette and hugged her. "I'm glad you stayed."
Alice smiled and hugged the girl back. "Of course."
Bella turned back to the queens, "Can we leave now?"
Athenodora was watching the friends' interaction and was envious of how affectionate Bella was to Alice. Along with her queen mates, their hearts broke at the thought of their human mate leaving. Alice smiled sadly. "Bella…you can't leave."
"W-What? W-Why not?" Bella sad eyes and broken voice broke the queens' dead hearts. She quickly turned her sad eyes to the queens. "You said you meant me no harm?!" She asked accusingly.
Alice, minding the Queens' titles put a gentle hand on Bella's shoulder. "Bella…"
"No!" Bella shrugged Alice's hand off and glared at the queens. "This is harming—no hurting me!"
Athenodora looked down as she heard their human's quivering voice. She couldn't bear to look at the sad eyes that Bella was sending their way. Didyme looked sadly at Bella, her own frozen heart breaking to hear that Bella wants to leave them. Sulpicia's heart broke as well, but as the leader of the three, she approached the frantic human.
"Isabella...We can't let you leave..." Sulpicia looked to Alice, silently asking if it was okay to tell her the truth, which in turn Alice gave a small nod. The elegant blonde turned back to Bella, with soft but nervous eyes. "...Because you're our mate."
