Naruto Uzumaki considered himself a very unlucky person, he imagined in his past life he had done something extremely horrible to deserve all the wrath of the gods. He was orphaned at birth, his mother died during childbirth and his father killed himself soon after so he grew up alone in a public orphanage, he was bullied, harassed and overall mistreated so the logical thing was to become a prankster and misbehaved child. At 18 when he was finally able to get out of his hell he met an old perverted man that took him under his wing and gave a job at his publishing company, old Jiraiya treated him as his own son. He was happy for the first time in his life, genuinely happy and then he passed away, leaving him alone and sad once again. Jiraiya had arranged for him to attend a high class party on his behalf sometime before his death, and there he had met the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on, Hinata, was her name. Regal, elegant, femenine, shy, everything about her drove him crazy. They had dated only for a few months before they married and had the most beautiful children, Boruto who was now ten and Himawari, who was now five.
That brings us to the present, Naruto sighed in complete defeat watching the man lower the casket with his wife inside, cancer had taken her away from them, it was so fast he barely had time to register what was going on. His children hugged themselves to their father and sobbed, this was goodbye.
What in the world had he done to deserve all this crap? He had been happy, yes, he had known what happiness and love were but every single time he had known of the warmth of those feelings they were taking away.
Their routine had changed, Hinata was s housewife, she had taken care of their house, their food, the kids and he worked his buttocks off at Jiraiya's company, as his successor. Now that she was gone he juggled with everything, it was hard but they would manage, for the happiness their kids deserved he would do anything, but he was empty inside.
And in the middle of this black and gray life he saw him, standing right in front of him, someone he had thought had been lost in the sea of his memories. He was taller now, his back was broader but he was still thin, elegant and powerful.
"Sasuke?" - he asked, wanting to confirm something his mind already knew was right. The tall man turned around, his eyes wide in wonder, a devious smile adorned his pale features making his heart flutter.
"Fancy meeting you here, Uzumaki Naruto" - he answered. The blonde stepped back unconsciously when Sasuke took a step forward.
"I usually eat my breakfast here, I've never seen you in this area before"
"I moved to a residential area around here a couple of months ago, after my divorce" - he said casually. "Mind if I join you?" - Naruto shook his head.
"I'm already done. Hope we can meet some other day" - Naruto stood up quickly and left the diner.
He sat in his car for minutes, his hands clutching the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white, he bumped his head against the steering wheel and groaned.
Sasuke grew up in the same orphanage too, but he arrived when he was about 10 years old, a crazy bastard had killed his entire family leaving him alone and traumatized, but rich apparently. Naruto had always followed him around, he wanted to be cool, like him, he dreamed of Sasuke accepting him as a friend and then one day, when they were fifteen years old, after years of fighting each other and calling themselves rivals, they had kissed, one thing had naturally flowed to the other and they had started to secretly date each other. But alas, being the unlucky person he was, Sasuke was taken away by a distant relative and they never saw each other again.
Naruto assumed this had been a simple teenager phase as he had never been interested in another man, only Sasuke had taken a special place in his heart and when he left, that place in his heart had been buried.
Naruto was nervous, anxious, excited, he just didn't know anymore, sitting by the diner's window, waiting to catch a glimpse of the pale man, it had been a week and Sasuke was nowhere to be found. Maybe he was avoiding him, maybe he didn't even remember what the both of them had shared in their youth. What if he was ashamed? Both of them had moved onapparently, he mentioned he was divorced.
He was so absent, lost in the turmoil of this thoughts that he missed the cobalt haired man sitting down in front of him.
"So? Were you waiting for me?" - Naruto jumped from his sit, many customers turned to giggle and look at him.
"Idiot. No. Of course not" - Naruto stammered. "I already told you i eat here every morning"
"Hmm" - Sasuke took a sip of his coffee. "You married?" - he asked casually, Naruto touched the silver band in his finger and his expression suddenly changed to despair.
"She passed away a year ago"
"I'm sorry Naruto. Forgive me for asking" - Sasuke stretched his hand to cover his, electricity traveled all the way to his heart and it skipped a beat. He didn't remove the hand,no, he liked it right where it was, he remembered that rough but loving touch.
"It's ok, it's been a while now but i can't seem to be able to remove the ring, not yet"
So easy to talk to him, like he was never gone, as if their lives had been connected all this time even though they had been apart.
"I married Sakura, pretty sure you remember her from school. We had a kid, Sarada, that girl takes her mother's strength but is my exact copy" - Sasuke laughed sourly. "We divorced a couple of months ago, found out she was cheating on me with Sarada's karate instructor, some guy named Lee" - Sasuke shrugged, he said everything like it did not hurt him at all, and after all this time, his hand remained there on top of his hand and he refused to move it away.
"We should hang out sometime, so the kids can meet" - Naruto suggested, seemed reasonable, the kids were his excuse, was it really an excuse? He brushed the thought aside.
Hours went by, and they talked to their heart's content, catching up on old stories and rediscovering each other, as friends, Naruto thought, how it should be and how it would remain.
Naruto laughed at his son who in return glared, he stepped back and pushed him towards Sasuke's daughter and they finally said hello to each other. The spark that was there for Naruto and Sasuke had reincarnated in their children it seemed as both kids hit it off immediately, their fathers forgotten they had rushed to the video game machines. Himawari on the other hand eyed Sasuke with her pale colored eyes, she hid her face behind her father's back and poked out to stick her tongue out at Sasuke who laughed.
"She likes you" - Naruto laughed, he pulled his daughter into an embrace and sat her over his lap.
"Doesn't seem like it" - Sasuke pointed out but Naruto shook his head.
"Believe me, she does" - Himawari squirmed out of his grasp to get a hold of her coloring book and her crayons and the two father's got to enjoy their play date.

Sasuke's heart skipped a beat when he heard his name called from somewhere behind, he recognized that voice, deeper than years ago but very unique, he had to play it cool, he had to hide his emotions.
"Fancy meeting you here, Uzumaki Naruto" - he said, the blonde took a step back when he moved forward, was he nervous? Did he remember? No, it was impossible, they had been young and stupid, he surely had moved on guessing on the unicorn sticker in his jacket's front pocket and the silver ring on his finger. He couldn't blame Naruto, he had moved on too.
The Uchiha heir had restrained himself from going to the diner, he couldn't risk the blonde thinking he was a weird stalker but truth be told he couldn't kick the man out of his head, he awoke many memories, happy memories, he closed his eyes as he vividly remembered the feel of the tan skin under his fingers. He stepped out of his car and stopped cold in his tracks, Naruto was sitting by the window, nervously watching every passerby. Was he waiting for him? Was he reading the signs right? Well, he only had to try and see.

How did this happen? How had Sasuke entered his life so easily and why had their kids accepted each other so naturally? Naruto thought as he sat down by his fireplace and his kids opened gifts with Sarada. Sasuke was leaning against the wall, his cup of hot cocoa touching his lips. It was their second Christmas without Hinata but they were not alone anymore, and the kids were happy. He felt himself tear up, his tears sliding down his tan cheeks. Sasuke left his spot to place a comforting hand on his shoulder and he wiped his tears away before his kids noticed.
Himawari was the first to lose the battle against sleep, so the blonde carried her to her baby pink room and with a kiss on her forehead he said goodnight
Boruto was already waiting at the foot of the stairs with a mischievous grin. "It's really cold outside and there's tons of snow, don't you think it's dangerous for our guests to travel this late?" - he said. Sasuke burst out laughing. "I see no faults in this kid's logic to be honest" - he agreed. "Sarada, you don't have anything here, your toothbrush and pajamas" - his daughter smirked, pulling out a backpack she had hidden behind a couch.
"These kids, seriously, am I paying for all the pranks I did when I was a kid?" - Naruto laughed. "Go upstairs you rascals"
Sarada and Boruto bumped their fists and ran upstairs.
The fire crackled in the fireplace, interrupting the comfortable silence that had settled around the two adults. Sasuke reached for a picture placed neatly on a high shelf, one of Hinata holding a tiny baby in her arms, Naruto and Boruto sporting goofy grins behind the beautiful woman.
"I am sorry for what I am about to do, I mean no disrespect" - he whispered. Naruto raised a curious eyebrow.
"Did you say something?" - Sasuke shook his head before sitting down beside him, their knees touching.
"I never forgot" - Sasuke took his hand in his and squeezed tightly. "I wanted to reach out, but I was scared. I knew you lived in the area and I came in hopes I could see you" - Naruto let out a breath and closed his eyes.
"I never forgot either" - Naruto said with a sad smile. Gingerly Sasuke made his move, he leaned in for a kiss which he intended to be chaste but neither was conscious of how much they hungered each other.
Sasuke straddled the blonde and kissed him hungrily, he opened his mouth to let his tongue come into play, Naruto responded eagerly, he moaned and bucked his hips up to meet the other man.
"The kids...my room" - Naruto mumbled, his hands ripping Sasuke's shirt off, the older man grunted, picking up Naruto by his tie.
In a fumble of limbs and clothes they reached the blonde's room, they kicked the door shut and fell on the bed.
Sasuke remembered the feel of the other man's body,as if it had happened yesterday, he let his fingers trail down a rosy nipple, down the toned abs to disappear into the blond curls beneath his underwear. Naruto bit his lower lip to stop himself from moaning.
"I want to hear you" - Sasuke told him in his ear, Naruto shivered. "The kids are asleep and are far from us. Don't be shy" - as he said this his hands closed around his erect penis, Naruto threw his head back and moaned.
Naruto opened his eyes when the warmth of Sasuke's body left him, the pale man was taking his pants off, his penis was marked on his underwear, calling him, enticing him, the logical thing to do for him was to reach for it. Naruto knelt on his mattress, lowering down the other's boxers, taking his whole length inside his mouth. Sasuke took a hold of the golden locks, his hips moving unconsciously so the blonde could take more of him inside his mouth. He let the blonde play for a while but he needed more, he was craving for more.
With a strong pull on the blonde locks he removed Naruto's mouth from his member, a string of saliva fell down the blonde's chin and his body shivered with want.
"I'll be gentle" - he whispered, his hand cupped his face and for the first time the hunger subsided to bloom into something unknown for them. Sasuke pushed through his entrance slowly and stopped when Naruto whimpered in pain. "It's ok. I won't let anything happen to you" - had it been a coincidence that the Uchiha had said the same words he had spoken more than 15 years ago? Naruto didn't know but his heart was moved, he reached for Sasuke and he kissed him slowly and tenderly.
"You can move" - he said, and the hunger, the craving turned into slow burning passion. Sasuke moved slowly, entering the tight entrance over and over.
Their bodies covered in sweat, their minds foggy and their hearts screaming each other's names they found their release, Sasuke's semen filled him, his pulsating member felt good and brought him to the edge. Exhausted Sasuke dropped by his side and they fell asleep.
Naruto opened his eyes when sunlight came through the curtains, Sasuke was sleeping by his side so serene, as if this was his home. Naruto combed the sable strands with his long fingers. Would Sasuke regret this? He wondered, but all his worry eased when a strong arm pulled him close, and a pair of lips posed gently over his forehead.
"Morning" - Sasuke whispered. Naruto blushed. Sasuke's touch felt like fire, burning him inside out.
"What will we tell the kids?" - Naruto said.
"That their dads are giving love another chance. That they are the happiest they've been in a while. That nothing will change between them and that our love for them will never change" - Sasuke leaned forward to kiss him ever so slowly, Naruto sighed.
"Will they understand?"
"They're smart kids. We will tell them, when the time is right"

Sasuke plagued his thoughts every day and every night. He felt like a teenage boy falling in love for the first time, such a strong feeling he hadn't felt in such a long time.
His voice sent shivers down his spine, his touch burned like fire, making love with him was a whole new experience, they lost themselves in each other.
They held hands underneath the table every morning they met at the diner for breakfast, they visited each other for lunch and sometimes they squeezed in little escapades during their lunch breaks. And when the kids met to play they sneaked a caress here and there.
They had dated each other for two long years. The blonde man played around with his ring, he bit his lip nervously, and with a heavy heart he removed the ring from his finger.
"I love you. That will never change, I love the life we built together and the beautiful children we created together. Please don't hate me for what I'm doing, I… haven't been happy in a long time and I can finally see color. I love Sasuke" - he placed the ring inside a velvet box beside Hinata's picture and kissed it. A kiss goodbye.
Sasuke noticed the lack of the ring the moment he saw his lover, his heart fluttered because he was fumbling with a small box inside his pocket. He had that box hidden for months but he didn't have the courage to pull it out. He was scared that even though Naruto had accepted his love for him he wasn't ready to move on.
He turned his eyes to the calendar, he had marked Christmas eve with a red circle, two years ago he had made love to Naruto and two years ago as smooth as a piece of butter their relationship had started, everything was natural. So Sasuke prepared himself for the big event, they would dine together, they would open gifts and then they would confess to their kids the truth.

Boruto and Sarada exchanged looks, and raised curious eyebrows
"So… you are gay?" - Sarada asked. Naruto gulped. "And you are dating each other"
"I'm sorry we kept this away from you" - Naruto apologized.
"You owe me five bucks" - Sarada extended her hand to her best friend. The grown ups' eyes widened in surprise.
"Go to hell Sarada"
"What in the world are you two talking about?"
"I knew for a while now, i saw you hugging and holding hands a few months ago but stupid Boruto said it was because you were bestest of friends" - Sarada poked her tongue out at Boruto who scoffed.
Sasuke laughed out loud.
"So it's ok with you guys?" - Naruto asked. "You're not angry with us?"
"Why would we? You guys are happy, we are happy. Does this mean we're moving together?"
"Woah, hold your horses young men" - Naruto blushed.
"I think you should sleep in the spare bedroom, Himawari and I can share a room. We don't want stinky boys nearby" - Sasuke and Naruto shared a smile, and the kids moved on to their discussion as if all the things they had shared had been obvious from the start.
Sasuke cuddled closely to his lover, he pulled him into his tight embrace and kissed his naked collarbone.
"That went better than expected" - Naruto snorted.
"You think?" - he laughed.
"No more hiding. I can love on you as much as i want from now on" - Sasuke let out a deep breath when the blonde moved his hips to accommodate himself better, his member brushing the other man's thighs.
"I think that this was meant to be. We were at the right place at the right time"
"I have something I wanted to give you" - Sasuke sat down and gave the blonde a hand so he could sit. Sasuke reached for his discarded coat beside the bed and pulled out the black velvet box. "Would you accept this ring as a symbol of our union? Would you marry me?" He asked, Naruto smiled tenderly, his hands reached for his face and his fingertips traced his lips.
"I would love to" - he whispered, his hands shaking when Sasuke slid the ring on his finger, a thin golden band, so different from the one he had worn before.
Naruto was happy, he felt complete and it was safe to say that for now his unlucky strike in life had finally come to an end.
