Itachi smiled gently at Naruto. The young man was interesting.
"I'm interested in you, Naruto," he spoke simply.
"Huh?" Naruto asked, confused on what he meant by interested. "What do you mean?" Naruto didn't find himself interesting, or even ordinary. He kind of felt boring.
To Itachi, the blond was adorable. But he'd keep that to himself. "I am interested in you as a person, and wish to pursue a relationship with you," Itachi spoke clearly. Naruto's eyes went wide at the confession.
"We've only known each other for a week," Naruto spoke, confused. "Doesn't wanting to be with someone take longer?"
"Hence why I would like to get to know you more, through private dates, Naruto." The Uchiha paused for a moment. "I would be willing to keep things simple as small dates to get to know each other for a while. It is entirely up to you to decide if we do, or simply remain co-workers."
Naruto thought, and finally voiced a major concern he had. "Wouldn't Sasuke kill me for dating his brother? And your parents expect an heir from you?"
"I can always have a surrogate if needed, and Sasuke would more than likely approve of us."
"You're sure?"
Itachi smirked. "He was the one who recommended that I pursue you," the older male spoke with confidence. "That was also a reason you got to keep your job without me interviewing you at all. You… intrigued me when you first started and kept doing so all week." Itachi paused for a moment, taking s bite of food. "It would not affect your work if we did indeed start dating."
Naruto thought hard. His main worry was Sasuke, but if he suggested it, it would be fine. Plus he was Kakashi, and while they may not be blood, he was Naruto's big brother no matter what. The blond sighed, mulling it over. What if Itachi's parents wanted to meet Naruto? Or worse, Naruto's parents decided to meet Itachi? They didn't even know Naruto liked guys.
Finally, Naruto nodded and looked at the elder. "It would be an honor to date you and see if this could work between us," Naruto told the other. "Maybe leave parents and such out of it until we are more sure though."
Itachi nodded in agreement and smiled at the younger blond. Sasuke always said he needed to get someone in his life, and the blond here was single. When Itachi had asked his brother if Naruto would be alright with someone like himself, the younger agreed quite quickly stating, " The blond idiot could use someone with a good head on their shoulders. And he could teach you to loosen up." That had been more or less a blessing.
