Hey guys, thanks for the love. Here's another one, i hope you like

Danny hung up. "Steve's there. He has the situation in hand." He said aloud more for himself than the

others.

Lou and Chin exchanged concerned glances in the rear-view mirror.

"Can we go any faster? Hit the siren! Steve needs the backup, now!" Danny barked. His stress level

was through the roof.

Catherine drove away from the Williams' house towards Gracie's school.

Rachel and Charlie were in the back seat. "Gracie will wonder where Steven is." She said to no one in

particular. "Are you sure Steven will be okay alone with that man?"

The lieutenant smiled. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned but with Greenley secured and Danny on

the way, I'm sure he's fine."

"He's a bad man." Charlie said matter of factly. "I wish Puppy could have bitten him."

Rachel hugged her son. "I do too."

"So, here we are." Steve said with forced lightness, setting his cup on the table. "What shall we talk

about?"

"I don't have to say anything without my lawyer." Greenley said with false bravado.

The commander smiled. "Aren't you a lawyer?" His smile grew as Greenley shifted his weight

uncomfortably. "Do you think George the Russian is going to help you? A little free advice: cooperate

with Sgt. Williams. You will probably get some kind of break at sentencing."

"I have nothing to worry about."

"You think so? Do you know why I caught you so easily? Sgt. Williams was at your quarters, with a

warrant for your arrest. They even found your escape tunnel."

Rich deflated, his haughty attitude all but disappeared. "If George had known you were here, he would

have changed his plan. He hates your guts."

"The feeling is mutual." Steve said coldly. "How did you get your marching orders?"

"In the attorney conference room at the jail."

"Another charge: impersonating a member of the bar, twice." Steve said happily picking up his coffee.

Greenley hung his head. "I think I should shut up now."

The wheels of the car squealed as Lou took the turn on Coastal Carriage Way, way over the posted

speed limit. Chin slid in the back seat from behind Lou to behind Danny.

Danny saw his house. "Where the hell is Steve's car?! How could he leave my family unprotected?"

"Probably in pursuit of Greenley." Lou offered quietly as he pulled in front of the Williams' house, car

facing the wrong way.

Danny was out of the car before it came to a complete stop. He dug out his house keys as he ran to the

front door. Unlocking it, he flung it open and ran in. Lou and Chin weren't far behind.

"Steve!" Danny stopped in his tracks. At the dining room table, Steve sat, drinking coffee, rather

casually holding a gun on Rich Greenley who was sitting on the floor, obviously restrained.

Oh, hi Danny." Steve said with an amused little smirk, his voice capricious. "Rich Greenley dropped

by." He applied pressure again to Greenley's foot. "Say hi, Richie. Mind your manners."

Danny looked thunderstruck. "Hiya Steve." He managed weakly. "Where's your car?"

"Catherine and Rachel went to pick up Gracie at school." Steve simply stated. "I stayed to keep our

'guest' company."

Danny looked at his watch, he didn't realize it was so late. "Oh."

Lou stepped forward. "Steve, you took my job."

Steve looked at the big man with a confused frown.

"The boss promised *I* could cuff him."

"Catherine got the pleasure." Steve shrugged. "I wish he would have put up some resistance. Both of

us were robbed, Lou."

Grover nodded as he cut the makeshift zip tie chain holding Greenley's head against the glass door. He

then hauled Rich Greenley to his feet. When their captured suspect hopped in place trying to keep his

balance, Lou realized Rich's feet were bound. "Clever".

"Catherine is nothing if not thorough." Steve shrugged. He pulled his MKIII knife and sliced through the

zip ties easily. "All yours, Detective. Enjoy your life inside, Rich. I hope you do know a good lawyer." He

said with a satisfied snicker.

In spite of the situation, Chin smiled. He accepted the five-dollar bill Lou held out as he escorted

Greenley toward the front door. "Boss, we're gonna take Greenley in and book him. He won't be up for

questioning for a few hours."

Steve noticed the monetary exchange and smiled at the fellow Hawaiian, he nodded in appreciation.

Turning to Danny, he could clearly see the detective was suffering an adrenaline crash. "Danny, you

okay?"

"Yeah. I just had so much … anger, my family…" Danny said under his breath.

"I understand. Everything is okay, the only 'casualty' was Puppy," The naval officer then immersed

himself on repairing the toy. "I'll repair him before Charlie gets back."

"Go ahead Chin, you and Lou, I need to see Rachel and my kids but I'll be in the office in a few hours. I'll

get a ride in." Danny said quietly.

"I'll drive him in." Steve volunteered as he worked on reconstructing Charlie's companion.

"Okay boss, I'll text you when we're done booking him." Chin said as he left, closing the front door

softly behind him.

Danny shook his head to clear it. He felt sick to his stomach, the adrenaline rush was making him

queasy, his hands were shaking as he broke out in a cold sweat. Lou was smart to get Rich Greenley out

of his sight as soon as possible. He wanted to beat the man until his strength gave out.

Concerned, Steve looked at his friend as he worked on Puppy. "I was in your garage this afternoon."

He started with false casualness. "Your workout area is impressive."

Danny looked up, frowning. "What?"

"You know what helps me when I have an adrenaline overload?"

Danny looked at him dangerously.

"Punch a heavy bag or the adrenaline will poison your body." Steve raised his eyebrows and tilted his

head with a shrug. "Just suggesting."

Danny sighed. He knew the Navy man was right. "Up to holding the bag for me?"

"Be my pleasure."

"Where's Uncle Steve?" Gracie asked after securing her seatbelt in the front seat.

"At the house." Catherine said lightly.

"Oh." The little girl was obviously disappointed.

"How was your day, sweetheart?" Rachel asked, hoping to keep Charlie quiet.

"Okay." Gracie said as she yawned.

"Sissy, Puppy was kidnapped!" Charlie blurted out.

"Oh Charlie, don't be silly." Gracie scolded her little brother.

"He broke Puppy!" Charlie yelled.

"Mom!" Gracie cried out.

"Gracie, honey." Rachel started gently. "Puppy was hurt today."

Charlie interrupted. "By a bad man. He put me in the washing machine."

"Why? Did you get all dirty again?" Gracie accused.

"Nuh uhh! You pushed me down and that's why I got all dirty!" Charlie folded his arms across his little

chest and pouted.

"You fell on your own." Gracie retorted.

Charlie grunted angrily and took a deep breath and opened his mouth to continue the argument as

Rachel put an end to it.

"Enough you two!" Rachel said in her sternest 'mommy' voice. She smiled as both her children settled

right down.

"I'm impressed." Catherine said as she turned into the Williams' driveway. "I'm taking notes."

Danny had taken off his shirt and tie and started punching the hell out of his heavy bag.

Steve steadied it with his shoulder solidly. "Feeling better?"

"Yeah." Danny said between punches. He stopped to catch his breath. "When I saw my address on a

post-it note on his fridge, I don't mind telling you: I panicked. I am very grateful you were here too."

Steve shrugged. "I am glad, too. Charlie was playing outside when Greenley grabbed him. He stepped

on Puppy when he kept him quiet. He broke the garage side door and put the boy in the washing

machine. Charlie stayed hidden until he heard us then he popped up."

"I bet that scared Rachel, she hates unexpected surprises." Danny smiled to himself.

"Startled all three of us." Steve smirked. "Greenley wanted the house empty so he could put a timed

incendiary device in the staircase. Set to go off tonight, we all would have been trapped upstairs."

Danny motioned for Steve to hold the bag again. With Steve holding the bag at the ready, Danny kicked

the bag viciously. He only stopped when he heard Catherine pull into the driveway. Out of breath, he

snatched a bath towel out of the laundry basket nearby.

"I'm not sure if those are clean." Steve commented off hand.

"As sweaty as I am, who cares?" Danny snapped.

Steve nodded sheepishly. "Feel better after all that punching and kicking?"

Danny got two bottles of water from the small fridge by the 'weight room' and tossed one to McGarrett.

"Yeah, I do. A bit tired but better. The guys were very wise to get Greenley out of here." He drank

deeply. "Ah, Steve?"

Steve gave him a questioning look as he drank.

"Why was he limping?"

"FIT"

"Fit? What the hell is that?"

"Field Interrogation Techniques." Steve clarified. "Apply pressure on a joint or tendon in such a way

that it causes discomfort to varying degrees but doesn't permanently disable your detainee."

Danny smiled. "What did you do?"

"Stretched his achilleas tendon to the point of serious discomfort but it will heal just fine. But he won't

be able to walk without pain. And forget about running."

"You'll have to teach me that."

"Sure."

Properly hydrated and towelled down, Danny hit the automatic garage door opener.

Catherine was carrying Charlie and Rachel was holding Gracie's hand. All four broke into big, happy

grins.

"Hey guys." Catherine said happily. "I take our guest has been taken into custody?"

"Yes, he went for ride with Grover and Kelly." Steve confirmed.
