Harry was sitting in detention, having a bit of a stomachache from dinner, he must have eaten too much. What to expect from someone who is starving at the Dursleys though. This is paradise for him. A vacation.
Peering over at Snape who was sitting across from him at his desk; Harry still wanted to discuss about earlier. "So, from what we were talking about earlier Professor?"
"Potter, I am going to ask you again do you want to replace your mother for me?"
"Oh, save your breath sir, I am doing no such thing," Severus gapped at him, 'What a rude child,' "you loved my mom and still do it seems, but here is the thing Professor," he breathed in before saying this painful truth, "she is gone sir," he watched the hurt behind the dark wizard's eyes, wincing.
"Just do the work I provided for you and get out of my sight," he spoke harshly, getting up, going over the door, 'Snape…' Harry runs over to him, snaking his arms around him from behind, Severus gapped at this, "let go of me Potter," he tried to free himself, but Harry kept his hold, "you said quite enough just now."
"Snape…I didn't mean to say this to hurt you," he looks up at him, his teacher turned away, facing the front, "I did this to help you."
"I said let go of me Potter!" he pushed Lily's son away from him, making the poor boy fall on the hard ground.
"Ah!" Potter shouts, pain shooting from his body. He looked over at Snape, "that is it!" he gets, rubbing his butt. Grabbing Snape's arm, pulling him over to the sofa, pushing him down. He was stronger then he looks, "Professor just listen to me," Snape looks away from him, "she is gone, you need to move on."
"How can someone like you understand?" he looks up at him, hidden emotions lurked behind, "you are just a child, who knows nothing about grown up problems!" Harry looks at his clenched teeth, and clenched hands, "you have no idea what I been through!" Harry gapped at this, 'Is he starting to open up to me?'
"I been through enough to realize what pain means!" Harry kept his eyes on orbs, never wavering, "when I was only a baby, my parents' died, getting raised by her sister and husband. They hate me you know. You think I am a spoiled brat sir, but you do not even know me."
Harry sat down next to his teacher, telling his horrid of being a child at the Dursley's, not caring for his wellbeing since he was a baby. Snape had a completely different impression on him. He knows about Lily's sister. She was bullied by Petunia and told Severus everything, 'Couldn't they have picked someone else to take care of him?' shrugging the thought away, trying not to care.
"You were saying I do not know about grown up problems. Remember what I told you when I mended your leg?"
"That you matured at a young age?"
He nodded, "I had to basically raise myself, without their help. Had to learn fast, else I could have done things during my toddler years that would have killed me," Snape gapped at him, 'Wanting to shout at Petunia for being so neglectful," he looked over at the time before looking back at Harry, "Snape I do not know what you been through, but it was my mother who hurt you," he put a hand on his shoulder, "that is something I do know," Harry kept his eyes fixed on Snape, wanting him to understand, "she is gone though, you do not have keep pretending she is still alive," black orbs glared over at green, "your heart is all for her…ever since she walked into your live."
"Enough!" Snape shouts at him, "enough…" he whispered softly, trying to keep himself together, shutting his eyes, "just get out…" he breathed, putting his hands over his face.
"Snape…" Harry knew it would hurt and yet he is doing this to help his professor, understanding what is going on with him, even if it means to be a bit harsh. Not wanting to say anymore while his teacher is feeling this way as he closed his arms around him, knowing his teacher has been hurting for a long time, "I did not mean to say it to hurt you…I am not leaving you like this Professor," he tightened his grip on him, "I know you are in pain; I am doing this to help you," he looked over at the clock, Ron's turn in detention is in thirty minutes. His eyes dot back to his teacher inside his arms, not knowing what kind of emotion he was expressing, being quiet. Harry noticed his hands clenched tight beside him, grabbing one, giving it a small squeeze for comfort. Snape did not know what to at this moment, Harry was trying to give him comfort, he knew that. Should he take it?
Not being able to think anymore as his emotions that he held back for several years, washed up all at ones, not knowing what to do with them. Not knowing if Harry would make fun of him if he did, "Potter…I"
"Shh…it is ok Professor…it is ok," he stroked his back. Snape did not care anymore, letting his feelings out onto the Golden Boy's shoulder. Harry felt him shaking, not saying anything more, letting him cry. Laying back on the sofa, a little, showing his teacher that he is staying and not leaving anytime soon. Snape who was so lost in thought of Lily, waking up from it, he realized what he was doing. Trying to push him away. Harry getting the message lets go, Snape felt ashamed on letting his feelings out on his student, hiding his eyes from him with his hands. This time Harry even though his teacher wanted his pride intact; removed his hands, Harry smiles sadly at his tears, "it is ok Professor…it really is ok…" he wanted Severus to open to him and only him. He wanted a special bond with his teacher, getting an old Dursley's handkerchief out of his pocket, handing it to him, "I was saying all this because…you deserve more then what you seem to have gotten in life sir. My mom is gone, you deserve to be loved by someone who is alive," Snape looked over at Harry, deciding to use the handkerchief. Harry rubs his shoulder, watching him wipe his eyes. He looked back at the clock; Ron will be here soon. Getting up to leave soon, "Sir…take your time to collect yourself, I will find a way to…" Snape grabs his wrist, 'What?'
"Stay…" is all he said.
