After six months, several visits to Surry Social Services to see Harry and Miss Jules, and a few awkward visits to Severus' home on Spinner's End where all magical items had to be hastily packed away, the adoption process was finally complete. Harry Potter was now Harry Snape, adopted son of Severus Snape.

During this six month process Severus had accumulated almost every book, both muggle and magical, on childcare. Yet, when the time finally came and he and Harry were standing together on the stoop of the house that they would now share together, he suddenly felt extremely out of his league. It's one thing to learn about child rearing, after all, and a completely other thing to actually be entrusted with a childs well-being and happiness.

Taking a deep breath to center himself, Severus glanced down at Harry to see him looking all about, eyes wide and filled with wonder. It was obvious that Miss Jules' statement that he would now be living here with the 'nice Mr. Snape who's been visiting you' when she dropped him off just a few minutes ago had stuck with him.

Taking one more deep breath and clearing his mind, Severus coughed a bit bringing Harry's attention to him. "Well, how about we go inside and get you settled in your room? Perhaps together we can find a nice spot for Taffy?" At those words Harry grinned and practically started vibrating on the spot and responded with a loud enthusiastic, "Yes, please!" Smiling in response to such eagerness, Snape opened front the door and led him in to his new home.

Note:

Unfortunately, I think short little chapters like this are all I'm going to be able to manage from here on out. I'm in my last year of college and just don't have the time or attention span for anything else. Hopefully the next few updates will be some stand alone 'slice of life' content instead of a slow continuation of where this chapter left off. Thanks for reading!
