Mount Justice

Chimera, Robin, Miss Martian, Lucky Girl, Wonder Girl, and Superboy gathered in the cave's briefing room. They were excited to be getting their first mission. Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern(Hal) were waiting for them before a holographic map of an island.

"Isla Santa Prisca." Batman wasted no time getting started. "This island has become home to a group called the Forever Knights. For those of you who may not know, they are a group which tended to hate all aliens or anything unnatural. Recent reports contradict that statement."

"Recently, we have reports of knightly attired yellow lanterns." Hal crossed his arms clearly not liking this one bit. "This means Sinestro has somehow corrupted the Forever Knights, or they've somehow gotten his power battery."

"That's where your team comes in." Superman stated. "This will be a covert recon mission where you go in, observe, and report what you find. You shouldn't be doing any fighting. Once we have the information, the Justice League will take the next steps."

Batman turned to the map. "The plan requires two drop zones."

"That's great, but who's in charge?" Robin interrupted.

Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern looked at one another.

"That's something you need to decide for yourselves." Superman finally stated.

"One more thing." Batman stated. "Before the Forever Knights moved in, that island nation was home to a dangerous and illegal steroid. A strength enhancing drug sold under the street name Venom. Infrared pictures indicate they are still operating the factory at full capacity."

"Man, the Forever Knights have been busy since we last tangoed with them, huh Lucky?" Chimera asked.

"I'll say." Lucky nodded. "They were already trained warriors to varying degrees, but now we'll have to be on the lookout for strength enhanced, yellow lanterns to boot."

"It's possible they won't mix those two things, but I would be on the lookout." Hal retorted.

Santa Prisca, Night…

The Bio-Ship was cloaked as they made their way to the island close to the water's surface.

"We're approaching Santa Prisca." M'gann announced.

"We're coming up fast on Drop Zone A." Lucky was checking the sensors. "Chimera, you're up."

Chimera nodded before standing, dialing up his Piscciss Volann form, and slamming the watch down. "Ripjaws!"

The Bio-Ship opened a hatch allowing Ripjaws to dive into the water. He swam up to some netting before tearing through it and continuing onto the beach. Once out of the water, he changed back and ran to a large missile battery.

Chimera then placed a small disk onto it and waited a few seconds until the disk began to blink with a green light. "Heat and motion sensors are hacked." He was speaking into his communicator. "They're now on a continuous loop, so it's safe to move in."

Chimera glanced up to see the slight blur that was the Bio-Ship in stealth-mode. It flew by overhead towards the second drop zone. He then became XLR8 before running in the direction of the ship.

With the Team

"Drop Zone B." Miss Martian declared.

She then conjured tethers for the others, except for Superboy and Wonder Girl who said they had a way down, as Lucky and Wonder Girl activated their stealth modes. Robin didn't need it, Superboy turned it down, and Miss Martian could make her clothes stealthy.

Lucky and Robin attached their tethers before repelling down to the jungle floor silently. Lucky didn't want her glowing mana. Miss Martian and Wonder Girl simply flew down silently to join them. As for Superboy, he choose to fall and impact loudly with the ground.

"Knew I didn't need a line." The clone stated happily as he climbed out a crater.

"We didn't say you needed a line." Robin retorted. "We told you creating a seismic event may not have helped us with the covert part of our team."

"Chimera, Drop B is a go." Miss Martian informed over comms.

"This forest is denser than I'm used to." XLR8 replied. "Head to the factory ahead of me, and I'll track you through the GPS. I'll try to be as quick as I can."

"Rodger that." Robin brought up his holo-map and activated the GPS before looking to the rest of the team. "The factory isn't too far, so let's go."

The Team moved out silently along the forest.

"Did you hear that?" Superboy questioned.

The others knew his hearing was the best of their group, so they froze.

"What are you picking up Superboy?" Miss Martian asked.

"It's marching feet." Superboy replied.

"With that in mind, what are we to do Robin?" Wonder Girl only now noticed that the Boy Wonder was nowhere to be found. "I hate it when he does this."

Fortunately, they had kept open comms allowing XLR8 to hear their plight. "Superboy, go infrared and see what's out there."

Superboy's eyes glowed as he scanned the forest. "I'm seeing two squads of armored people. Can't tell if there's anything special about them, but the two groups will meet up before ever coming to us."

"Superboy, do you see Robin anywhere?" Wonder Girl asked.

"Nope, just two squads." Superboy replied.

"Considering we don't want to get involved, we should avoid all contact." Lucky reasoned.

"I will, but only after I find Robin." Wonder Girl declared firmly.

Before anyone could stop her, she flew out of the brush. As she flew over what was two squads of Forever Knights, one headed by a knight in yellow armor and the other headed by a knight clearly more muscular than the others, her shadow passed over them.

This resulted in the yellow armored knight leveling a matching ring at her and using yellow energy to pluck the shocked hero out of the sky. He smashed her into the ground between the two groups.

Wonder Girl stood and looked at the two groups with a nervous chuckle. "So much for stealth."

The more muscular knight approached while the yellow lantern ascended, and the others formed a perimeter around them. "You are intruding on the land of the Forever Knights…"

He didn't get much further as Superboy jumped in and punched him. The knight rolled with the blow and used the clone's own momentum to knock him down. Even so, Superboy was able to overpower the knight's leverage with brute strength and hurl him into a tree.

Robin jumped on down to Wonder Girl's side and threw down smoke bombs to shield them. "What is wrong with you guys!?" He demanded. "What happened to covert? Why didn't you follow my lead and vanish into the jungle?"

"In order for us to follow your lead, you need to fill us in!" Wonder Girl shouted as she punched a Knight, who was brave enough to charge in, out of the smoke. "I mean, as far as I'm aware, only one of us is a mind reader!"

As they argued in the smoke, seeming to forget about escaping, Lucky and Miss Martian were dealing with the weaker knights. The yellow lantern knight summoned a bunch of yellow beams over Superboy and allowed them to crash onto him.

The clone was quick to break free before jumping into the air and managing to catch the knight by the leg. Superboy brought him down hard into the ground knocking him out. One of the knights had recovered and tried to flee only for XLR8 to come in knocking him out.

Thirty Minutes Later…

The knights were bound tightly, and especially the venom infused one. As for the yellow lantern ring, Chimera pocketed it. If these knights couldn't call them back, he'd have it to give to Hal. If not, they'd at least know when the knight woke up.

"Just as I thought." With everyone knocked out, Robin had checked out the knights. "This big guy has been on venom, but the rest are decidedly not."

"At this point, I think we've confirmed it." Wonder Girl stated. "The Forever Knights have both the Venom and yellow lanterns. Let's radio bats and get out of here."

"They do have Venom, but only one knight was using it." Robin reasoned. "Additionally, we haven't confirmed how they have yellow lanterns among their rank. Until I know these things, we can't leave."

"Until you know why?" Wonder Girl asked.

"This team needs a leader." Robin replied.

"The guy who ducks out on us without a word should be our leader?" Wonder Girl shook her head. "What kind of a leader abandons the team?"

While the two argued, Miss Martian turned to Chimera. "What about you?"

"Me?" Chimera questioned.

"Yeah, I mean you led us against Kevin, and I heard you led the others through Cadmus as well." Miss Martian stated. "If you ask me, you're already the leader."

"I mean, maybe." Chimera shrugged. "I don't quite know what to say."

"I'd follow you." Superboy stated firmly. "You have my respect."

"I have to agree." Lucky nodded. "You've already been taking charge when we needed it."

Chimera thought back to his time with the team. When they needed guidance, he gave it without a second thought. Maybe that was the problem now. This was their first, official mission, yet they'd come without a leader. As much experience as Robin had, he never vocalized it.

What's more, he was prone to running off without a word. Wonder Girl was great muscle, but she was battle crazy. Superboy was too angry. Even if he wanted to be in charge, which Chimera knew he didn't, his plans would probably be along the lines of attacking.

Miss Martian was too timid and naïve. That wasn't a bad thing, but it did not make a good leader. Lucky seemed like a good choice since he knew she was disciplined and responsible. The problem was her tendency to follow rules.

Sure, some rules needed to be followed, but you also needed to know when it was time to bend rules. Additionally, a leader should ideally be able to think outside the box, and he was known to do that. In the end, Chimera reached a decision.

"That's enough you two." Chimera stepped forward with a firm tone. "Robin, you trained under Batman, but that doesn't mean you'll be an effective leader. If anything, your training under him hampers your ability to lead now.

With him, your roles are defined, and you don't need to talk things out. This team is new and comprised of individuals who haven't led the same life as you. A leader must tell his or her teammates what needs to be done. We can't follow unspoken orders."

"What? You expect me to hold everyone's hand?" Robin stared down Chimera only to end up relenting and sighing. "Who am I kidding? I don't have what it takes to be a leader. I can plan out a mission, but I don't have that fire needed to lead. I think we all know who I'm talking about."

Everyone looked to Chimera with a firm nod. They all knew in their hearts that he had naturally assumed leadership every time it was needed. None of the others, including Robin, could do that.

Chimera nodded back to them. "I'll accept the role officially; however, I'm going to need a second-in-command. Hopefully, you're not hurt if I don't pick you Lucky."

"You won't hurt my feelings since I'm fairly certain the one you have in mind is the perfect choice." Lucky assured.

"Thank you." Chimera approached Robin and put a hand on his shoulder. "Since you claim to be able to plan like Batman, I'm hoping you've got my back."

"I see now what Wonder Girl was trying to get at, and I promise I won't dip out again on you guys… unless you order me to." Robin nodded. "Also, I won't let you down."

"Alright, here's what we'll do." Chimera stated. "Robin is right. There is much we don't know. Miss Martian, I want you to make sure those knights will remain unconscious for now. Then, we need to get to that factory and see what we can dig up. Superboy?"

The clone looked at him as Miss Martian ensured the knights would remain out. "Yeah?"

"I know you don't like people in your head, but I want Miss Martian to link us up before we go any further." Chimera informed. "Comms are unreliable compared to a mental link."

Superboy sighed before nodded. "Alright, do it."

Miss Martian nodded as she forged a telepathic link between each member of the team. She assured them that she would not read their minds nor control them in any way. It was purely a way for them to instantly communicate.

"Everybody online?" She asked.

"Yeah." Superboy replied reluctantly.

"I read you loud and clear." Lucky informed.

"I'm here." Wonder Girl stated.

"Everything's good on my end." Robin added.

"Are we good?" Chimera asked.

"Wait," Miss Martian had taken one more look into the minds of the knights. "The lantern knight knows of a way into the factory via a secret entrance. I just got the location."

Chimera nodded. "Then, that's where we're going."

Factory

Miss Martian led them to a cliff that oversaw the factory and allowed the heroes to see what was going on. Robin pulled out a pair of binoculars while Superboy used his super vision. What they saw shocked them. The knights were moving mass quantities of Venom.

"That's a lot of product." Robin commented. "There has to be a deal going down, but these guys aren't Kobra or even Bane. That means the buyer can't be the usual suspects. Especially with how this group is supposed to operate."

"We need to figure out who the buyer is, where they're keeping the Yellow Battery, and, if we can, what happened to Sinestro." Chimera outlined.

Sinestro was still a bad guy. According to Hal, the guy had realized his was becoming the villain, but the heroes could agree with Sinestro ending their lives. Still, he had been a sort of anti-hero since then and occasionally lent his power to the heroes

The sound of falling stone grabbed their attention as Miss Martian used her telekinesis to shove aside a boulder. "If we want those answers, we need to head on inside."

Mineshaft

The team walked into the secret tunnel, following Miss Martian, before coming to a door which required a code. Fortunately, she had gotten it, and the group now found themselves in an empty section of the factory.

"Any chance you know where our objectives are, Miss Martian?" Chimera asked.

"I know the Yellow Battery is below the factory and how to get there." Miss Martian replied. "I don't know if Sinestro is around, or where we'd find information on the buyer."

"Detective work is Robin's forte." Chimera nodded. "Superboy, go with him and supply back up. I'll go with Miss Martian to check out the Yellow Battery. Lucky, you and Wonder Girl should search the factory for any signs of Sinestro or anything that might be of interest."

Everyone nodded and split up into their groups. For the time being, Lucky and Wonder Girl hid behind several crates of Venom as they observed the knights moving other containers.

"This is a big shipment." Wonder Girl commented.

"It is, but they only seem to be taking the new product while these dusty crates don't even seem to be on their mind." Lucky informed.

"Maybe freshness counts." Wonder Girl turned to a nearby window and saw an incoming helicopter approaching the island. "Do you think that's the buyer?"

"It's a possibility." Lucky stated. "It's also unlikely that's Sinestro, but it is something of interest."

They made their way outside the factory and watched as the helicopter landed. From it stepped a heavily muscled blond-haired man. He wore light body armor, and his face was concealed by a gray hockey mask.

He ignored the rows of cultists and approached the leader of this operation. It was a man who hide behind a yellow mask which matched the yellow lantern armor he wore.

The blond-haired man nodded his head in greeting. "Sir Enoch."

"Sportsmaster." Enoch stated. "The shipment is ready."

A knight stepped forward and handed Sportsmaster a case with several vials of blue liquid.

Sportsmaster gently pulled one vial out and inspected it. "The Neo-Venom?"

"A complete success." Enoch gestured to a buffed-up knight. "Our friends will not be disappointed."

"This is a game changer." Sportsmaster. "Finally, we can go mano-a-mano with the Justice League!"

With Robin & Superboy

Robin and Superboy came upon a computer room with one knight inside. The boy wonder threw a knockout pellet at his feet before taking his place at the computer. Superboy took up guard duty at the door.

"Chemical formulas." Robin contemplated. "This one involves Venom, but this one is the Blockbuster formula from Cadmus. Mix the two correctly, and you get a new Venom three times the strength. Question is, how did the Forever Knights get a hold of Project Blockbuster?"

He pondered that for a moment. "Unless our mystery buyer must also be their supplier! They're using or working with the knights to create a Blockbuster-Venom super-formula! What else could I find in here?"

With Chimera and Miss Martian

It required some sneaking around on Chimera and Miss Martian's part, but they eventually made it to a staircase which would take them beneath the factory. By all accounts, no one seemed to see them. The pair had hustled on down and now stood in a long, wide hallway.

"All things considered, having the battery close at hand and hidden beneath the earth isn't a bad strategy." Chimera whispered as they walked on. "Still, it's bugging me that we even have to consider Sinestro, and these guys are working together."

"That's because the forever Knights aren't fond of aliens, right?" Miss Martian questioned.

"The knights I knew didn't really seem for anything save humans." Chimera replied. "Magic, mythical creatures, aliens, and anything else strange were basically their enemy. Though, I suppose it could work if Driscoll was in charge."

"Why is that?" Miss Martian asked.

"He was the last run in I had with the Forever Knights, and the guy who brought together a whole group of my previous enemies for a goal of his." Chimera explained. "None of them were aliens, but some of them dabbled in it. Quite a few didn't really fit the human MO."

"Do you really think he could be in charge?" Before Chimera could reply, Miss Martian held up a hand. "Someone's coming, but I can't get anything from their mind mind."

"There's not where to go from where I'm seeing, and you can't make a quick escape like Martian Manhunter." Chimera sighed. "Maybe this is our chance to get some answers but be ready to fight just in case."

The pair stood their ground as an orange glow was the first thing they'd seen coming from the darkness. Then a familiar, as Chimera had seen pictures, semi-bald man with black hair, blue eyes, and a short beard approached. He wore an orange lantern suit with the ring.

"Does this mean there are two lantern batteries here?" Chimera tensed up. "Miss Martian, be extra prepared because Agent Orange is a whole other story. In the hands of Driscoll, we might be in a bit of trouble."

"Peace young heroes." Driscoll stated coldly. "I know not how you know me, but I will not fight you, at this time, if you do not engage me." He didn't seem to recognize who Chimera was which Ben was thankful for. "Fighting now would endanger my progress."

Chimera and Miss Martian exchanged a look of confusion since they'd either heard of or read up on what the Orange Battery did to its, usually, sole member.

"We'll cut you a deal Driscoll." Chimera stated. "We give you our word that we won't fight if you answer our questions truthfully."

"Acceptable, but there are things I have not been told as our leader feared I may run into this exact circumstance." Driscoll coldly nodded. "Ask away."

"If you're no longer the leader of the Forever Knights, who is?" Chimera asked.

"A direct descendant, father to son, of our order's founder." Driscoll replied. "We now serve King Cyrus who works closely with his father as we all do now."

"Wait, the Forever Knights were formed 1000 years ago." Chimera stated confused. "I've only met one human who's lived longer than that, and he certainly didn't seem like a Forever Knight." He looked to Driscoll. "Who is your king's father?"

"I know not who he is today, but at one time he was known as Sir George." Driscoll replied.

"What's the deal with the orange lantern attire and ring?" Miss Martian asked. "According to records, the only orange lantern is Larfleeze."

"His corrupted mind was no match for the cunning of our king and power of the ultimate sword he now wields." Driscoll replied. "After his father sealed our true enemy's heart another way, he bequeathed the blade to his son. King Cyrus used it to end the creature's suffering.

"The Forever Knights have a true enemy?" Miss Martian asked.

"All I know is that his name is Dagon." Driscoll replied.

"How are you staying sane and not acting as the vessel for the entity of avarice?" Chimera asked.

"My training." Driscoll replied. "The same training King Cyrus undertook, under his father, to resist the temptation of avarice. I succeeded where others failed and was deemed worthy to wield this power. Now, I am in training to control it rather than it control me."

"That explains why I couldn't get into his mind." Miss Martian commented. "Is that why you don't want a fight?"

"I may not show it, but controlling avarice is a struggle." Driscoll replied dryly. "Answering questions is fine, but battle will undo all my progress. I would become no better than the previous Agent Orange. Considering I'm on earth, it's in both our best interest to prevent it."

"Got it." Chimera nodded. "No rampage of avarice is worth attempting to bring you in. What about the Yellow Battery?"

"That was a byproduct of our procurement of the Orange Battery." Driscoll replied. "Our king had just claimed it as his trophy when the Yellow Battery crashed onto that planet still intact. Sinestro was nowhere in sight, so King Cyrus secured the Yellow Battery for the order."

"What exactly are your plans with Lantern Batteries?" Chimera asked.

"I have not been told of, if any, plans the king has." Driscoll replied. "All I know is that we currently have the Yellow and Orange Batteries."

"If you're the new Agent Orange, then who leads the Yellow Lanterns?" Miss Martian asked.

"Enoch is the head of the Yellow Lanterns of the Forever Knights." Driscoll replied. "King Cyrus saw fit to deem him the power, and he has become a devote follow, like all Forever Knights, of King Cyrus."

"Sportsmaster is the buyer." Lucky informed over the mental link.

"That's not all." Robin decided to speak up. "The Forever Knights have done away with Bane to take control of this island. Now, they're making a Neo-Venom. To put it lightly, if this gets into villain hands, the Justice League may not even be able to stop them."

"This just keeps getting better." Chimera stated sarcastically.

Sure, he could likely take Sportsmaster since the guy was just a mercenary and assassin. Though, his reputation was second only to Deathstroke. If non-powered individuals were truly nothing, then you wouldn't see people like Batman fighting among practically gods.

We need to group up now. Chimera stated over their mind link. Screw covert because we cannot let the villains get away with this Neo-Venom. Lucky and Wonder Girl, start taking them down, and we'll meet up with you.

"I take it you'll be leaving now." Driscoll turned away from them nonchalantly as he walked back into the darkness. "Shame you won't get to the see the batteries before I take them out of here."

Chimera figured that's what he'd do, but Neo-Venom was the more prudent concern resulting in him dialing up his Kineceleran. "XLR8!" He looked to Miss Martian. "Let's go!"

He sped off back the way they came with the Martian flying after him.

Main Floor

Wonder Girl flew out from hiding and managed to take a yellow lantern by surprise before throwing him into a group of knights. Lucky came out next firing off her pink mana at other knights.

Enoch turned around and issued orders. "Destroy the young heroes."

One of the venom enhanced knights jumped, caught Wonder Girl by the leg, and impacted her into the ground. She managed to recover and engage the monster head on proving a somewhat even matched for him. The other knights ignored her and chose to focus on Lucky

Then, Robin came jumping off a walkway and put his skills to use against the normal knights. A couple of yellow lantern knights, who moved into the air, took aim at both heroes before Superboy jumped up to them arm baring them into the ground.

More knights came onto the walkway to open fire, but XLR8 sped on up knocking them to the ground floor. Sportsmaster narrowed his eyes and threw a javelin at Lucky. She managed to notice it just in time to dodge. Then it exploded, but Miss Martian managed to catch her.

XLR8 stopped behind a box for cover. "I want someone to get that case from Sportsmaster. I also need people to destroy any crates outside this building. In case it wasn't clear, everyone needs to get out. I'm taking this factory down, and you don't want to be in here."

He punched the center of his Omnitrix and began to grow rapidly.

"Enoch, I've seen that transformation." Sportsmaster still held his one case. "Trust me, we need to go."

"Retreat!" Enoch shouted as the size was concerning him. "Get out now!"

The team trusted their new leader well enough to already be out enacting his orders. Wonder Girl and Superboy were destroying crates by the time the knights, Enoch, and Sportsmaster got out. It was clear that escaping into the jungle was their best bet.

As they were running, XLR8 had become a To'kustar, Way Big, and was crushing the factory. The explosions it produced didn't hurt his gigantic form. Between that and them running, Sportsmaster never noticed Robin snatching the case until the boy wonder had it.

"Give that back boy." Sportsmaster demanded.

"Sorry, but letting you have this would just be one big aster." Robin declared.

He equipped it with a good number of explosives and threw it as Sportsmaster attempted to charge him. The briefcase exploded in midair making the mercenary growl. He grabbed a shotput and hurled it into the ground to reveal it was a flash bang.

Later…

Everything seemed to have wrapped up. The Knights were either still deep in the jungle or found some other way to escape the island. The Yellow and Orange batteries were gone. On the bright side, the factory was totaled, and they seemed to have destroyed everything Neo-Venom related.

"We picked the right guy to lead." Robin smirked as he gestured to Chimera. "Now, it's your job to explain this to Batman."

"Batman can have all the problems in the world with this." Chimera declared. "Letting the Neo-Venom go was never an option."

Unfortunately, the yellow ring had gone back to its owner meaning they didn't have that either.

Mount Justice

The six members of the team were dressed in their civilian ware as they stood before Batman. Superman and Hal were there as well behind him.

"A simple recon mission." Batman growled in Ben's face. "Observe and report. You will each receive a written evaluation detailing your many mistakes." He gave the smallest of smiles. "Until then, good job."

Ben never once lowered his head in shame. Now, he was shocked along with the rest of his team.

"No plan survives first contact with the enemy." Batman explained. "How you adjust to the unforeseen determines success." He looked at Ben. "How you choose who leads determines character."

"So, you're okay with them, even Robin, choosing me as their leader?" Ben questioned firmly as he crossed his arms.

"I've reexamined the good you've done that summer and under Hal." Batman sighed. "Recently, I have seen the person you are with your team. I was wrong not to give you a proper chance. I am sorrym but I will not apologize for any contingencies I have in place for you."

"I can live with that because I don't know how I'll feel about it should I go bad." Ben held out his hand. "Right now, I can see the logic in someone having their ways to stop me."

Batman shook the offered hand. From there, he spent a few more minutes explaining how much responsibility Ben now had and emphasizing that the team would have to follow his orders. By the end of it, Ben felt pretty good. Once Batman had dismissed them, members headed for their lining quarters or the teleporters.

Superboy heard a cough behind him drawing his attention to Superman. "Superboy, do you have a minute?"

"Uh, sure." The clone stated.

By this point, Superboy had a somewhat friendly relationship with the Man of Steel, but there was still a little awkwardness on both sides.

"I know you don't have a place to go, besides here, but I'd like to fix that." Superman rubbed the back of his head. "Look, I would have invited you to stay with me sooner, but there was someone I wanted you to meet. She just got back from the Middle East and is interested in meeting you."

"Okay…" Superboy said uncertainly.

He was a little wary of strangers. Heck, it had taken him weeks to get comfortable with most of his team. He had to wonder just who Superman was going to introduce him to. The man of steel punched in the coordinates sending them both off.

Metropolis

Superboy looked around the spacious apartment as Superman got changed into his civilian clothes. The place was nice, and he wouldn't mind staying here if he had to. A knock at the door made him take a fighting stance.

"It's okay." Clark emerged dressed in slacks, a button-up shirt, and glasses. "Just relax, and I'll let her in."

Superboy sat on the couch, and Clark brought in an attractive woman with long, black hair, a light-purple coat, and a white skirt.

She looked from Superboy to Clark. "Wow Smallville, you weren't kidding." She smiled. "He could pass as your son." before Clark could say anything, the woman walked past him and held her hand out to Superboy. "Hi, I'm Lois Kent."

Superboy hesitated a moment before shaking her hand. "Superboy."

Lois frowned. "Don't you have another name?"

Superboy shrugged. "Don't have one yet."

"We'll work on that." Lois thought on it. "What do you think of… Conner?"

"Um, it's okay." Superboy shrugged. "Why are you asking?"

Lois turned and frowned at Clark. "You didn't tell him yet?"

"I was about to." Clark grumbled as he sat on Superboy's left and Lois sat down on his right. "Superboy, we know you don't have a real home yet, so I thought we could make this official."

"What do you mean?" Superboy asked.

"If it's okay with you, we'd like to legally adopt you." Lois stated. "You'd be Conner Kent. What do you say?"

Superboy's eyes went wide, and he looked from Lois to Clark who nodded.

"You would be our son, legally." Clark stated. "Since we share DNA, you'd already be my son, biologically."

"You okay?" Lois looked at the young man concerned. "You look a little overwhelmed."

"I'm not." Superboy grinned. "I'm perfectly whelmed."

Unknown Location

Sportsmaster did not like to fail. Even if you succeeded a thousand times, people would always remember one failure. When people remembered you, you had a reputation. In this case, Sportsmaster's employers would certainly remember a failure of this magnitude.

Sportsmaster held up a single, small vial, which contained the blue liquid, for the Light to see. "All I was able to save was this single dose of Neo-Venom."

"Perhaps the drug can be reverse-engineered." One member said in a thick, French accent. "What of our young heroes?"

"They are enemies of the light same as the Justice League." The figure on the center screen growled. "Enemies of the Light must not stand."

Before you guys get on my case, Sinestro being an anti-hero and killing his corp., when they were villains, is very much part of the comics. That's where I yanked that little plotline from. In case you're wondering where Sinestro is, if he's not dead, well I'd take a look at the Lantern Corps. Your answer is there somewhere. As for Driscoll resisting the spirit of avarice, the Forever Knights, on paper, are known for taking and using alien tech.

The corp. batteries are just more alien tech. Considering Sir Geroge will be a very different, long-lived man, you can imagine how he was able to do what was said this chapter. Additionally, Young Justice itself, Earth 16, has some clear differences to the more in line material we're used to seeing. Anyways, in the end, the Forever Knights true motivation has really shifted due to the history of the world as it stands now.

Jay: Glad you like the Kevin bit. As for Galvanic Mechamorphs and the rings, I'll have to look into that. Reason says they would, but I'll be surer when I research it a bit. We'll see what happens with non Ben 10/DC aliens. Yeah, I know they aren't direct links to each other, but they do look pretty similar.

Omnihallows: They'd probably be pretty powerful. As for Kent knowing Bezel, he was Doctor Fate for a good long while, and that helmet is anicent. In my mind, it works out.
