Hello BNHA fandom. For those you have not met me before I am 7lights13darknesses. I love My Hero Academia and have been wanting to write a fanfic based on it for a while now. So, this will be my first time writing these characters. This is going to be a one-shot fluff story that I think is adorable. The idea actually came from another writer/tik-tocker known as clouds_notcomingdown. (This is the tik Tok account name. I think it is the same for AO3 but I'm not sure) She gave me permission to write a story based off some of her more recent stories. So please go look at her account. And I hope you enjoy.
P.S. For those that have seen this or look at the videos later, I started writing this before the part three video of this story idea and did not know it was part of a larger story. (That story is called Viridian: The Green Guide) For that reason the ending will be different compared to the actual story. This is more about the main idea of the story.
For this story instead of All Might, Eraser becomes Izuku's favorite/number one hero.
Eraser Head's Number One Fan.
Shota Aizawa A.K.A. Eraser Head was a happy man right now. Granted he usually isn't but right now he really wasn't. He is currently standing in the produce section of the grocery store being forced by his close friends Nemuri Kayama (A.K.A. the R-rated hero Midnight) and Hizashi Yamada (A.K.A. Present Mic) to by some fruits and vegetables because there are concerned for his health. Apparently, his jelly pouches are not enough according to his fellow pro heroes. He didn't know why. He's been living off of them just fine. All he needs is his jelly pouches and cats and he's set.
The only reason he came was because Nemuri and Hizashi came to his house and said they were there for an intervention. He tried to shut the door on them Yamada stopped him. After almost ten minutes of them threating to drag him to the store (which was an empty threat. They are too scared to actually do it) he finally agreed to get them to shut up. He also needed cat food but that was beside the point. So now here they are looking at the produce trying to decide what to get. And Aizawa getting a headache now as well from all the talking around them.
"Hey Shota, how about some strawberries? Nemuri asked. She looked like she was wanting them herself.
"I told you before I don't care. Just pick some stuff for me so we can leave." The tired man replied.
"Come now Shota. You now that if we wanted to do that we would have brought the food to you in the first place. Besides you need to get out more." Hizashi grinned.
"I do get out." Aizawa huffed.
"I meant besides for hero work." Hizashi huffed back. Aizawa just rolled his eyes. He would never admit to the two but he did actually like doing things like this with them….he just enjoyed sleeping more.
"It's settled then. We'll get the strawberries. Now how about we go look at the rice." Nemuri suggested. She knew Aizawa would like them bought also needed to go finds things that would last him longer. Hence the rice.
The trio walked over to the aisle with the rice, two of the three not noticing they were being followed. Aizawa noticed a small woman with green hair a few feet away from them. She tried to look like she was busy looking at the other items in the aisle but kept taking glances at Aizawa. Maybe he was just being paranoid, these two knuckle heads woke him up before twelve o'clock afterall.
'I swear if it's another person thinking that I'm a hobo.' Aizawa thought. He was glad to be an underground hero and wasn't recognized in public, but could people stop assuming he was homeless.
Aizawa decided to ignore the woman for now. She wasn't bothering them…yet. He looked back at the rice actually trying to decide for himself this time.
"I think you should get the brown rice." Nemuri said.
"I think you would like this more." Hizashi countered holding up a bag of Mochi Rice.
"Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of us coming here? I thought we were buying healthy stuff?" Aizawa, in his own way, playfully countered. To any one listening it he sounded the same, tired and disinterested. Of course these too knew better and recognize an "Eraser Joke" when they hear it.
During their conversation the lady with the green hair was slowly getting closer to the group to the point that Nemuri and Hizashi finally noticed as well. All three were now getting suspicious. She wasn't anyone that the three of them knew and she didn't seem like the villain type. In fact it was the opposite. She seemed very nervous and hesitant. Like she wants to talk but is too shy.
Aizawa grabbed the rice from both his friends (some rice cakes actually sounded good) and the trio were about to walk away when the women finally spoke walking towards them. They turned around and the women walked up to Aizawa specifically.
"E-excuse me. I am so sorry to jump to conclusions, but would you happen to be…Eraser Head?"
The three pro heroes are shocked and speechless for a moment. Very few people know Eraser's identity and most of them are from U.A.
Aizawa did not know what to think at first. He usually had to tell people that he was a pro hero and not a hobo or vigilante. He took a deep breath feeling his headache getting stronger. Nemuri and Hizashi were still staring in shock not sure what to say.
"I-I'm sorry I know you are an underground hero and probably don't like the attention but I had to ask. Sorry to make this awkward I'll just go-" The women rambled clearly embarrassed.
"How did you know?" Eraser asked.
"What?"
"How did you know? Not many people recognize me even when I'm in my hero costume, much less in public." The man explained. He was very curious how some random women knew.
"Oh well…my son is very big fan of yours. He actually has a big appreciation for underground heroes. He found out about you and looked up anything he could about you. He's mentioned it was really hard since you rarely talk to the press and stuff like that. He tells me a lot about it." The woman explained.
Hearing that this woman's son was the one that looked up about him apparently finally broke the stupor Hizashi and Nemuri were in. Both looked at each other with knowing grins sharing the same brain for probably the hundredth time. Both were squealing in excitement.
"Oh Shota sounds like you have a fan." Nemuri teased with a big grin on her face.
"So much for 'I don't want any fans' I guess." Hizashi teased as well. The two were having trouble to not laugh at his expense knowing he did not like to be recognized, especially by a fan.
"Ignore the two children behind me. They don't know when to be serious…or quiet."
Said two heroes looked at Aizawa acting shocked that he would say such things.
"Shota you wound me." Hizashi yelled (Withought his quirk) being over dramatic. Aizawa looked back at the woman again who was not sure how to react. She did look like she was trying to hold back a giggle.
"So was there something else you needed miss- " Aizawa asked hoping to end this soon. He was too tired.
"Oh. I'm sorry I never introduced myself. I'm Midoriya. Inko Midoriya. And it is a pleasure to meet you."
"Shota Aizawa. And likewise."
"Thank you. And yes I was wanting to ask if by chance I could get your autograph for my son? It would just make him so happy." Inko asked with a sweet smile. Aizawa could tell she was being sincere which only made what he was about to say even harder.
"I'm sorry, but I don't really do autographs. Can't have too many of those going around when working as an underground hero." He really hopped that this woman wouldn't be the type to start complaining.
"Oh of course I completely understand. My son said that you would probably say no but I just had to ask." Her response surprised Shota but figured he should be thankful that didn't escalate in any way.
Before either could say anything else Nemuri looked at her with an excited grin. "How big of a fan do you think your son is?" She asked eyeing Aizawa.
"Well I would say pretty big. He has a custom hoodie based off of Eraser's costume. He wears it almost everywhere."
"Would it be too much to ask if you have pictures?" Hizashi asked with a wide grin.
"Oh I have plenty. I think my son will be excited to hear that some pro heroes wanted to see some pictures of him."
"I'm sure he will." Aizawa grumbled. He really wanted this conversation to end. Inko handed a couple pictures to the trio of heroes. They showed a small boy with dark curled hair and freckles wearing a hoodie that looked surprisingly very close to Aizawa's costume. He seemed to be around eight or nine in the photos. Aizawa tried to not act impress. But in the inside he felt a strange feeling, one of being recognized as a hero.
"How old is your boy now?" Nemuri asked.
"In the photo he's nine. He's thirteen now." Inko smiled.
"He's very observant. Does he have an analyst quirk of some kind?" Aizawa asked. He wanted to leave but part of him wanted to know he the kid got so much detail.
Something he said seemed to upset Inko however as she become stiff and nervous. "Uh…n-no that's just his own research and observations. He likes to study heroes as a hobby." While nothing seemed wrong with that Inko looked embarrassed about something.
"What is the little listeners quirk then? I'm sure with being such a fanboy he would love to become a hero."
Inko didn't say anything at first. As if she wanted to say something but didn't think she should.
"Everything okay sweetie? Does your boy not want to be a hero?" Nemuri asked trying to get Inko to say something.
"I must admit that if he knows about me then he most know a lot about heroes in general."
"Oh no no he does. My boy Izuku would love nothing more than to be a hero. He always wants to help and save people. It's just that…lets say that the cards aren't in it for him.
'What is that supposed to mean? Does she not support him wanting to be a hero?' Aizawa asked himslef. If there was one thing that annoyed him more than villians, it was parents that didn't encourage kids to follow their dreams. He has the nickname dadzawa for a reason. Although he will deny it.
"Why not?" He asked forgetting a minute ago he didn't want to be talking to anyone. "He obviously has a good head on his shoulders if he was able to recognize me enough for you to notice me on the street."
"Oh trust me I know. He's brilliant. I'm so proud of him, and if things were different he could be an amazing hero. But…he's quirkless. And there's sadly never been a qurikless hero before."
Aizawa was flabbergasted. So were Nemuri and Hizashi. All three know how much quirkless individuals are discriminated against. But they were also surprised that this kid was able to observe and be as smart as he is withought a quirk. Not that he needed one but it was still impressive.
Being the first to wake up from his stupor Hizashi walked over and comforted Inko who looked like she was about to walk away in shame.
"I'm so sorry. That must be really ruff for you and the young listener."
Inko seemed to calm down and shrugs her shoulders. "It's not that bad. I love my dear Izuku and I don't care that he is quirkless. I just wish that he didn't face so much prejudice and discrimination. He's actually home now because so many people that know him will just say anything to apparently remind him that he is quirkless. I wish they could see him for the way that I see my boy. He's brilliant, determined, he always looks at the bright side of things, I wish that people could see that instead of society writing him off as powerless and weak."
Aizawa was able to finally calm down after hearing what Inko said. He was almost afraid that the mother was going to say something about how she wished she had a son with a quirk as he as unfortunately heard is a common thinking process for parents who children don't develop quirks. But after what Inko just said he could see that he was jumping to conclusions. She was probably one of the best mothers a kid could ask for.
Hearing her story made him feel sorry for Inko's kid. No one deserved to be treated the way he is. Quirkless does not mean powerless. Heck, he is technically fighting quirkless when fighting against a mutant type quirk. And even other day light heroes fight quirkless. Like Sir Nighteye. He can see the future of anyone one person he touches a day. Doesn't exactly help with every battle if he is unable to see the future in the first place. Or if he already used it.
Aizawa sighed not believing what he was about to do.
"Do you have any paper?" He asked quickly.
"W-what?" Inko asked thinking she misheard. Numeri and Hizashi had similar expressions as Inko.
"Do you have any paper? I don't have all day?" He added trying to act like he still didn't care.
"Ummm..yes I do. I only have a notebook I use for to make grocery lists though."
"That's fine. And while I'm at it can I see one of those photos?"
"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel like you have to."
"Yes. So who do I make it out to?"
"Izuku Midoriya." Inko replied.
Aizawa signed the photo first on the back and then took the paper to write a short message tearing it out and folding it. He handed it back to Inko who was still shocked at what just happened.
"Thank you so much Eraser-san."
"Please just call me Shota."
"Thank you again. I won't keep you any longer I imagine you still have a lot of shopping left." She quickly walked away to the checkout line still processing what happened.
Likewise Nemuri and Hizashi were just got out of their own shock for the third time now.
"What the heck man? You never give autographs. What changed?" Hizashi asked first.
"Yeah. What happened to the logical Shota we all now?" Nemuri just grinned.
"I was being logical. Sadly quirkless kids face a lot of discrimination these days. I figured the kid getting some words of encouragement from a hero, one that he likes no less, would help in some way."
"So basically what you're telling us is…" Nemuri started looking at Hizashi.
"That dadzawa mode was activated right?" The blond cockatoo finished.
"You two are never letting that done are you?"
"Not while you're alive." Hizashi laughed.
"I've heard that they need more heroes in some areas because of an increase in small crimes. I might go see if I can help." Aizawa threatened.
"Woah slow down Shoa. Don't need to take it that far."
"What did you write to the kid anyways?"
"That's none of your business."
(Meanwhile at the Midoriya household)
"Izuku sweetie guess who I met at the store?"
Said son was sitting on the couch watching the hero news. "Who?" He asked confused.
"I met Eraserhead. And he wrote you an autograph." Inko handed him the photo and note still folded as she wanted Izuku to be the first one to see it.
"You what?!" Izuku asked not believing what he heard. He quickly grabbed the note reading what it said.
'Dear Izuku Midoriya, I know you're quirkless and that's going to make things more difficult in your life. But difficult doesn't mean impossible. Anyone can be hero if they have the drive to be one.' Signed Eraserhead.
Needless to say there was a lot of crying (in joy) that night. Izuku swore to have the not laminated and framed as soon as possible.
The end.
So what did you guys think? This is a little different than the video I got the idea from. As I said before the is part of a much larger story so I used the main idea form the video and did my own twist on it. I highly suggest going over to "Clouds" and check out Viridian: The Green Guide if you have not seen it. The story is so popular it has it's own memes and fanart from many different people. Part of what took me so long to write this was me reading the actually story. And I repeat I had permission to do this from the creator.
