Chapter 25

"Hey, you," Nathan smiled as he walked through the door of Haley's apartment.

"Hey yourself," Haley smiled back with a cup of coffee in her hand, leaning over the counter, "How did it go?"

Nathan made his way over to the counter, giving Haley a quick peck on the lips before sitting down on one of the stools, "Okay, I think. We will just have to wait and see."

"They'd be crazy not to give it to you," Haley spoke, leaning over the counter.

Nathan was trying to find a new job since moving back to Tree Hill to be with Haley. Not a lot of places were hiring, but Nathan was determined to find something that he enjoyed. After being unemployed for so long, he was desperate to find something that would be long-term.

"Thank you," Nathan smiled, looking into her eyes. He could stare into her eyes forever and never get tired of the way they sparkled when she talked about her students. The way they spoke volumes when she sang a song she related to. The way they grew lighter with each passing day that they had been back together.

"What are you up to the rest of the day?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Umm, I'm not quite sure yet. I think for the first time in a while; I have nothing on my list."

"That's great, Hales! You need a day to relax."

"You want to join me at the beach?" She asked with her eyebrow raised.

"You know I can never say no to you and the beach."

Haley laughed, "I know, that's why I brought it up."

"You're evil, James."

"I'm just playing the game, Scott." Haley winked at him before skipping down the hall and closing her bedroom door to change.

Nathan sat on the stool, shaking his head at the woman he loved so much. She could make him do whatever she wanted with one smile. In the future, he was definitely going to get himself in trouble with that smile, but for now, he was just going to enjoy every single minute of it.

Haley emerged from the room in a dress with a beach towel in her hand, and Nathan frowned.

"What's wrong with you?" Haley chucked, placing the towel in the beach bag on the counter.

"I thought I was going to see you in your suit."

Haley turned red and smiled, "If you see me now, we might never make it to the beach."

That sentence alone made Nathan swallow hard. Damn, his girl was sexy as hell.

He got out of his seat and embraced Haley from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist, whispering in her ear, "But if we wait until the beach, some people might see some events that they did not sign up to see."

Haley just about buckled her knees at his horse, whispering in her ear and the feeling of his hands ticking her stomach. Her head was spinning. No one made her heartbeat as fast as Nathan did. No one ever made her love as much as Nathan did. She really was lucky to have him, to have him back in her life for good. Most people don't get second chances, but they did. And she was going to enjoy every single second of it.

"Nathan…" Haley whispered, getting her voice caught in her throat when he began to kiss down her neck.

She leaned her head back into his chest & felt her toes start to curl. She turned around to meet him for a kiss on the lips, scratching the back of his neck with her nails. As they continued to melt in passionate kisses, Nathan lifted Haley onto the counter, knocking over the beach bag that neither of them noticed.

Nathan moved his line of kisses down her neck into the small amount of cleavage that was showing from her dress as Haley's hands were entwined in Nathan's hair. When Nathan moved back up to meet her mouth in a kiss, Haley moved her hands down to his waist and yanked his shirt over his head.

Haley's hands roamed Nathan's naked chest when they met for another kiss, feeling his abs and muscular chest. Nathan lifted Haley slightly to rip off the dress she was wearing, revealing the black bikini she was wearing, matching her tan body, and embracing her curves perfectly.

"God, my girl is hot," Nathan spoke, barely above a whisper before showering her in kisses, every place there was no clothing.

Haley's head was spinning. She had never felt such pleasure in her entire life. She was scratching her nails down his back as he explored her body. She grabbed tightly to his athletic shorts and pulled them down with her hands, and finished with her legs that were wrapped tightly around his waist.

When Nathan made his way back up to meet Haley with a kiss, Haley was the one to pull away and start kissing down his neck and on his chest.

His right hand reached up to find forces with the cabinet, while his left moved his way up his girlfriend and landed on her breast. He could feel her hardened nipple through the suit, and it made him almost hit the floor right then and there.

His hands worked together to unclasp Haley's bikini top as it fell to the floor; Nathan's eyes were overwhelmed with joy. His head moved to the newly shown area as Haley let out a slight moan in pleasure.

"May…maybe we should finish this in the bedroom." Haley barely made out, making Nathan lift his head and smile.

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I'm more than sure. I love you with everything inside of me, and I know we are going to be together forever."

"I love you, Haley James."

They met in a passionate kiss as Nathan picked up Haley and carried her down the hall into the bedroom. He shut the door and flopped his girl on the bed, staring over her.

"Just say the word at any point, and I will stop."

Haley shook her head, "No regrets. I love you."

Nathan leaned his head down and kissed her with every ounce of love he had for her. The couple never made it to the beach, but they showed each other just how much they loved one another that day. It was the start of a new beginning. The new Nathan and Haley ready to embark on the world.

**Two days later

It was Friday night, and ever since Nathan and Haley made their way back to each other, they started doing game nights with Brooke and Julian again. It was Nathan and Haley's turn to host, and because it was a crazy day for both couples, they decided to eat on their own and just do game night instead of including dinner in the time together. Brooke sent Haley a text stating that she and Julian would be at her place around 8 o'clock.

Haley looked at the clock and saw that they had an hour before their friends would arrive. Haley was just cleaning up the kitchen from her and Nathan's dinner. Her boyfriend was on the phone with another company that had an interest in him as an agent. He was still waiting to hear from his interview a few days ago, but that did not stop him from getting more interviews and looking elsewhere.

Haley just wanted him to be happy. She knew he gave up a fantastic job and opportunity to be with her in Tree Hill, and he told her multiple times that he would give it up all over again, but she still could not help but feel guilty for him being unemployed. The woman was putting the cleaning spray in the cabinet when Nathan walked back into the apartment.

He closed the door softly as Haley looked at him with hopeful eyes, "Well? Who were these guys? Did it sound good?"

"Actually, it was the company from LA. They want me to work for them again."

"Oh," Haley said softly,

"My boss said he regrets letting me resign. He talked to the company, and they gave me a really good offer, and I am going to take it."

Haley felt her heart sink. This was not happening again. She thought everything was going to be different. He was changed. He was different. This was not happening again. It couldn't be. It just couldn't be.

When Nathan saw Haley's heart physically shatter in front of him, he instantly regretted telling her the way that he did.

Before she was able to formulate words of anger and betrayal, Nathan spoke up again, "They are sending down my partner from the company and good friend I made there. We are going to work together in Tree Hill."

Haley's head shot up to connect her eyes with the man standing in front of her. She was in such shock, she stuttered, "You-You're not leaving."

Nathan took a step closer to her and whispered softly, "I told you that I wasn't going anywhere, and I intend to keep that promise."

Haley swatted his arm and wiped the unfallen tears from her eyes, "You suck."

"Too soon for the portrayal I had."

"Just a tad," Haley added, turning around to bring her heart rate back down.

Before she even had the chance to walk away, Nathan grabbed her from behind and kissed the back of her head, saying, "I love you, baby. I'm sorry that I scared you."

Haley squeezed his arms that were across her chest and signed, "I just don't want to lose you again. I know you tell me all the time that you're not going anywhere, but it's just going to take me some time actually to believe it. It's not that I don't trust you because I do with everything I have. I just…I don't know."

"You're scared, and you have every right to be. But just as I told you before, if it takes every day for the rest of my life to show you just how much I love you and how sorry I am for what I did, I will."

The woman leaned her head back into Nathan's chest and smiled, "I love you so much."

"I love you too, baby."

Nathan turned his girl around to place a delicate kiss on her lips. Haley broke away to smile up at him, "I didn't get the chance to tell you congratulations. I'm so proud of you, babe. When do you get to start?"

"As soon as Clay gets settled here, we will begin work, but there is a downside to the job."

"What's that?"

"I'll be traveling a lot."

"We will make it work. Let's just focus on the time we do have together now."

She was not going to lie, knowing that he was going to be gone a lot hurt, but she was also incredibly grateful that he was going to have a job that he loved, and he was hers. Things could have been a lot worse.

"Yeah, every. Single. Second."

Nathan leaned in and kissed Haley hard on the lips, backing her all the way to the wall. He played with the lace on the bottom of her shirt and rubbed his fingers on her bare skin, showing when she lifted her arms.

He never thought he could love and want someone as much as he loved and enjoyed the woman in front of him. She was like an addiction that he could never stop. His hand grabbed a handful of her hair and slightly pulled back to place kisses down her neck. Haley needed something more. She rubbed her leg up his waist, and before she knew it, he grabbed her butt and lifted her, forcing her legs to wrap tightly around his waist.

Their mouths found each other again, deepening each kiss with their tounges entangled together. As Haley tighten her legs around his waist, there was a knock heard on the door.

The couple placed their foreheads against each other as Nathan sighed.

"That would be Brooke and Julian."

Nathan placed Haley down and smiled at her as she fixed her hair and checked her makeup in the mirror before running over to answer the door.

"They are always on time when I don't want them to be," Nathan whined.

Haley turned around and winked at him whispered, "We'll finish later," before opening the front door greeting their guests with a smile.

After enjoying a dinner full of laughter, Julian and Nathan were in the living room as Nathan was trying to teach Julian how to play a video game, which was not going as well as expected.

"Come on, Julian, Hales is better than you!"

Haley turned around from the kitchen sink where she was washing dishes and scuffed, "Hey, I'm pretty good."

Nathan smiled from the couch, "I'm sorry, baby. Yes, you are."

Haley laughed before continuing to wash the dishes. Brooke watched the interaction from her drying spot and was grinning from ear to ear. When the friend noticed, Haley knitted her eyebrows and asked, "What are you smiling at?"

"You guys totally did it!" Brooke whispered.

"We may have," Haley spoke softly.

Brooke squealed loudly as Haley pressed her lips together, "Shhh."

"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy for you. Your first time!"

Haley was turning as red as a tomato, but she couldn't help but beam at the same time. It was amazing to have such love for one person. She wanted to tell her best friend all about it but now was not the time or place.

"It was amazing! Brooke, it was so scary but thrilling at the same time!"

"My little Haley Bob is growing up," Brooke pretended to cry.

"Oh, shut up," Haley joked, throwing the rag at her.

"You have to tell me everything," Brooke begged.

"We can talk about this later," Haley spoke, pushing her lips together, not wanting the guys to know what they were talking about.

"I'm looking forward to it," the brunette practically squealed.

Haley rolled her eyes as she shut off the sink and ran to join the guys in the living room. She sat down next to Nathan as he opened his arms for her to sit in his lap.

Brooke laughed, sitting down on the chair next to Julian, "What are you boys playing?"

"I'm getting my ass beat is what's happening," Julian joked.

"Oh, you couldn't have even gone a little easy on him, baby?" Haley smiled.

"He's on my team, Hales."

"Oh," Haley and Brooke said together.

"Well, you don't need to rub it in like that," Julian pouted.

Nathan paused the game to say, "Okay, ladies, what do you guys want to do for our activity tonight?"

Brooke looked at the couple across from them, foreheads against each other like she and her husband were not even there. It made her heart so soar to see her best friend so happy. It did look as if she and Julian had interrupted something when Haley opened the door, and Nathan was giving Haley looks all night. Maybe for this one night, each couple could each enjoy a night of passion.

"Actually, I think we are going to head out," Brooke said, standing up, getting a surprised look from her husband.

Nathan and Haley broke their gaze to look at their friends, "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, we're just drained, and Max is teething. I just don't want to leave him alone too long."

"Oh, okay," Nathan answered.

"If you need anything, just let us know," Haley spoke, hugging Julian.

"We will," Brooke smiled, hugging her friend.

"We love you guys," Haley said, opening the door for them.

"We love you too," Brooke smiled, grabbing Julian's hand and walking out the door.

Once the door was shut, Julian asked, "Okay, what was that?"

"I just thought we might be able to have a nice passionate night together while Max is with Mouth and Millie tonight, maybe starting to try for another baby?"

Julian grinned in return and smiled, "I can't think of anything I would want more."

On the other side of the door, Haley smiled to herself. She really had a good friend.

"That was weird," Nathan stated, looking over at his girlfriend.

Haley shrugged, "I think it just gives us more time to pick up where we left off."

"Oh, is that so?" Nathan smirked, walking closer to Haley.

"Mhm," She smiled.

By this time, Nathan had made his way across the room and stood in front of Haley. He grabbed her face with his hands and whispered, "Where were we?"

"Just about here," Haley replied, crashing her lips onto his.
