The Loud House/Casagrandes FanFiction

A Rough Phase - ACT I

Ronnie Anne and Sid were enjoying an afternoon together in the skate park. Sid was holding her phone in her hand, recording footage of her best friend performing a neat skating combo.

"Okay, go!" Sid shouted.

And with that, Ronnie Anne took off. She rode down a ramp to get some momentum going before approaching a railing. She jumped in the air and performed a sweet looking kickflip before landing on the rail and grinding against it. A few small sparks were generated from the friction between the rail and her board.

"Woah! This looks so cool!" Sid said in awe.

"Ronnie Anne then jumped off the rail with her board and landed smoothly on the ground, performing a revert to regain control as she continued her combo. She then quickly approached a halfpipe and propelled herself a solid ten feet in the air.

"Wow!" Sid said.

Ronnie Anne used her valuable air time to perform a 540 degree rotation, also known as a Mctwist, much to the amazement of her best friend.

"WOAH!" she said as she gushed, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she continued to film the action.

Ronnie Anne finally hopped off her skateboard and asked a very simple question…

"Tell me you got that!?"

"Heck yeah I got it! That was so cool!"

"I think that was the best trick I've ever pulled off!"

"That's definitely gonna be a hit on YourTube!" Sid then claimed.

"You think so?"

"Are you kidding? That was the sickest thing I've ever seen!"

Later that afternoon, the two girls were chilling out in the Casagrande apartment, watching their video gradually gain thousands of views on the internet.

"Wow, over 9,000 views in less than four hours!" Ronnie Anne said excitedly.

"Hey! We could wake up in the morning and find out our video's got over a million views!" Sid hypothesised.

A curious Carlota then walked past and noticed the video view count.

"Wow, did you get all those views in one afternoon?" she asked.

"Yep, we uploaded this amazing video of me doing a really cool combo trick on my board, and Sid recorded it for me! She got the perfect view of me doing the moves!"

"Oh, shucks. I was just the camera lady. This video is all about you, girl!" Sid said modestly.

"Thanks, but I still appreciate your contribution to all this. Camera work is important, after all." Ronnie Anne told her.

"It's true. When I starred in the high school fashion magazine, I always had to rely on the cameramen to get good shots of me. Otherwise… *shudder*, it would be the fringe fiasco all over again!" Carlota mentioned as she walked away with an uncomfortable look on her face.

"The fringe fiasco?" Sid asked.

"Trust me, you don't wanna know." Ronnie Anne insisted.

"Still, I'm so excited that our video could reach a million views overnight!"

"Me too, Sid. You know, we make quite the team, you and me."

"Yeah, it's a good thing you moved to the city when you did! Otherwise, I might not have made any friends when I came here." Sid recollected.

"*Pfft* Sure you would. You're really nice and cool, plenty of people would line up to be friends with you!" Ronnie Anne reassured her.

"But none of them would have been as cool as you!"

"Aw, thanks. But still, you put yourself down too much, you would have made a lot of friends, with or without me."

"You know? It would have been even better if we had met years ago! I mean like, imagine if I met you back in Royal Woods? We would have had so many fun times together!" Sid said.

However, this sentence sparked a series of thoughts that rumbled around inside Ronnie Anne's head. Despite what Sid had suggested, Ronnie Anne knew it wasn't quite as simple as that. The Hispanic tomboy hadn't always been the nice, friendly, and approachable girl she was in the present. She began to have flashbacks of her times in Royal Woods, and began to visualise how her relationship with Sid would have been if they had known each other at that time…

One of her visions was of Sid eating a sandwich during lunch break in the cafeteria at Royal Woods Elementary School. But just as Sid was happily eating away, minding her own business, Ronnie Anne walked up from behind and shoved a sloppy joe down Sid's pants, resulting in the other kids present starting to point and laugh at Sid's humiliation, causing a tear to form in her eye.

Another of these visions involved Sid opening her locker to find a note inside. She picked it up in her hand and saw that it read 'Watch Your Back!' Before she could even know what was happening, she could feel her underwear being pulled upwards, digging into the depths of her crack, as the material was stretched so far up that it was placed over her head.

"ATOMIC WEDGIE!" one of the kids shouted, prompting all the others to point and laugh at her again after Ronnie Anne had just given her a nasty wedgie.

A third vision being Sid walking home from school, only for Ronnie Anne to race past her on her skateboard. Rudely and bluntly disregarding the well-being or personal space of the other girl, Ronnie Anne violently shoved Sid to the side as she whizzed past, causing Sid to lose her balance and fall face first into a nearby trash can. A popular clique of school girls then walked by and laughed at Sid once again.

"Look, Sid. I think it's a good thing we met when we did. I don't think we would have been such good friends if we knew each other back in Royal Woods." Ronnie Anne admitted.

"Why do you say that?" a confused Sid asked.

"*Sigh* Maybe it's time I tell you a little bit about my old life. You see, I may seem like a pretty nice kid now, but I wasn't always that way. You know Lincoln, right? Well, let's just say I didn't give him as much of a warm welcome as I did you…"

"Oh?" a surprised Sid responded.

"The thing is, I was known as the toughest girl in school back in Royal Woods. People didn't dare mess with me! I was known for being a bit of a rough nut." Ronnie Anne awkwardly admitted.

"Well, that doesn't surprise me. You're a kick butt kind of girl, I'm cool with that!"

"No, you're not getting it, Sid. What I'm trying to say is that I was kind of a bully back then! I mean it, I was a real jerk! I used to play pranks on the other kids, push and shove them over, humiliate them in front of their friends. Especially Lincoln, he got it the worst! I even punched him in the face one time!"

"Wow… really?!" Sid questioned, clearly shocked by what she was hearing.

"Well, I mean, he did kiss me first. I wasn't planning on hitting him, it was more of a reflex reaction!" she defensively added.

"So, you had a little bit of a mean streak, huh?"

"It's true. So, as you can probably guess, I don't think you would have liked me too much back then… you might have even been one of the kids I picked on…" Ronnie Anne explained.

"Oh…" Sid simply muttered in response, unsure over how to process the information she was being given by her closest friend, someone who she thought she knew so well.

Author's Footnote:

So, here I am with another FanFiction, and not too long after I finished The Quest for Glory, either. Listening to the feedback I received from my followers, I have decided to try out a few shorter, smaller stories for a while before considering another large story project again.

A Casagrande story may not be exactly what many of you were expecting, but I thought I'd write a story addressing a head canon I've had regarding Ronnie Anne and her mother for a little while now (as far as I'm aware, and I admit I don't quite follow the spin-off as closely as I do the parent show, but I don't believe Ronnie Anne has ever told Sid or Maria about her past as a bully in Royal Woods, and I also have head-canons about Maria and how she became the person she is today, which will be elaborated on later in the story). Hopefully it will make for an interesting read.

I do have some other ideas for stories which I may start working on in the near future, including some that build on the developments and narratives introduced in my previous big works like The Quest for Glory, but I'll save those for another time.

Yes, this story is going to be structured and toned as if it were a canon episode. While I'm aware I can't use the format of a spec script (I received a lot of flack for that back when I wrote Pushover or Payback and Two Peas in a Prison, and I have no interest going down that road again...), I can at least try to make the structure, length, tone, and writing style of the story reflect what one might expect to see in a canonical episode of either show.

As such, this story will contain a simple, easy to follow three act structure. Act 2 will be uploaded in the next couple of days, and Act 3 will follow shortly after that. Since these stories are much shorter, they're quicker and easier to write and proof read through. Honestly, one of the things that probably took the longest was thinking of a decent name for this fic. I started off with 'Mother Thugger' and then thought of 'Motherly Meanness', but then I went with 'A Rough Phase'.

Anyway, let me know what you all think. There's more to come, so look out for that.
