The Untold Story of Fifi's Vacation:

A Tiny Toon Adventures & Pokémon Crossover Mini Series

Episode 5: Pokéblock, Stock and Berry

Last time, Ash continued to tell his friends about when he temporarily went on a dark path after his loss at the Indigo League and the betrayal of Misty and Brock. He had become a bitter and seemingly emotionless Trainer who no longer treated Pokémon battles as fun. But luckily, Lorelei of the Kanto Elite Four was there to help guide him back to the right path and he became a friendly Trainer once again. And just now, Ash, Pikachu, Fifi and Pepé had just found out that Brock had given up on romance since his obsession with girls ruined his life. But Pepé isn't about to allow that to happen. He plans to get him and Lorelei together. Will he succeed? We're about to find out.

Lilycove City, a bustling port town known as the launching point across the ocean. The city was still in the midst of recovering from the event that came to be known as, "The Battle of Lilycove City", where Jessie, James and Meowth tried to kill Ash and co., only for Fifi La Fume and many other friends to foil their sinister plot. Ash, Pikachu, Fifi, Pepé, May, Max, Brock, Sorrel, Verity and Lorelei were hanging out at some park benches. Fifi was cuddling Pikachu, much to his discomfort. At that moment, May gasped in excitement when she saw what was on the newspaper Pepé was reading. "Look at today's headline! The Lilycove Contest Hall has been repaired! I can finally sign up and partake in the contest!" said May. "It's tomorrow," said Max. "Cool. You're going to enter it, aren't you, May?" asked Ash. "That's right! I'm going to! It may have been delayed due to Team Rocket's lame attempt to kill us in front of the whole city, but now that the hall's been repaired, no more delays! I plan on winning my third ribbon here!" said May with determination. Ahnd I plahn to get Peekahchu's ahttention even mahre, thought Fifi. Ahnd I plahn to get Brahck ahnd Lahrelei to fahll een lahve weeth each, reigneeting ze spahrks of lahve een Brahck's hahrdened heart, thought Pepé.

Ash and his friends were going to get a bite to eat first. It was a restaurant that May recommended from the guide book. "So this restaurant you chose is famous for omelets?" asked Ash. "Yeah," said May. "My mahthair hahs cooked deleecious omelets when I wahs leeving een pahrees. Perhahps sahmeday when I decide to eentrahduce you to my mahthair, she cahn cook us sahme deleecious omelets," said Fifi.

At that moment, Pikachu sniffed something and got excited. "Pika!" said Pikachu. "What Pikachu?" asked Ash. "Why ahre you so excited?" asked Fifi. Pikachu suddenly jumped off of Ash's shoulder and began to run ahead of the gang. "Pika pika!" said Pikachu. "Where are you going?" asked Ash. "Pikachu!" said Max. "Pika!" cried Pikachu. "Wait fahr me, my cream filled eclair!" cried Fifi as she began to hop on all four legs.

Further into the city, there was a farmer's market. "Berries for sale. Get your berries. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries," said a Berry Salesman. Pikachu finally stopped running. "Chaaaaa!" cried Pikachu excitedly. Everybody else managed to catch up and gasped. "Look at all that," said Ash. "Is that a farmer's market?" asked May. "It's Lilycove's famous berry market," said Brock. "There must be a million different kinds," said Max. "Should we go walk around, guys?" asked May. "I think we should," said Lorelei.

"How much?!" asked a voice. "Huh?" asked everybody. The voice belonged to a girl with short purple hair and blue eyes. She wore a pink bow in her hair, just like Fifi. She wore a black shirt and blue overalls. With her was a purple and black pig-like Pokémon with black pearls on its body. She was trying to buy some berries and was outraged by how much they were. "For two measly bags?! I could've bought the whole tree for that," said the girl. "Grump," said the pig Pokémon. "I can be very loud. Don't buy from this guy! He'll rip you off!" said the girl. Fifi, Ash and co. sweated in embarrassment.

"Excuse me?" asked a voice. Ash and co. saw the voice belonged to another man. "How would like to try a sample of this Nomel Berry I just baked? It's delicious. Try one of these, little fella," said the man to Pikachu. "Pika!" cried Pikachu. He grabbed a piece and devoured it. "Pika Pika!" cried Pikachu. "Hey, eef Peekahchu likes eet, I'll try one," said Fifi. She grabbed a piece and prepared to eat it. "Fifi, wait a sec . . . !" cried Brock. But it was too late, Fifi already at it. Suddenly, Fifi's eyes widened and her lips became puckered. "Sahcrebleu! Eet's sour!" cried Fifi. "I think I'll pass on that one," said May. "Me too," said Ash. "Sorry. I thought you knew when I said it was delicious, I thought you knew it was delicious to Pokémon, not people," said the man. "Now you tell me," said Fifi, slumping to her knees. "Maybe those Mago Berries should help with that sour taste," said the man, offering up a plate to Fifi. She took a piece and ate it. "Le sigh. Zank heavens. Now zat's deleecious," said Fifi.

"Excuse me. Coming through. Watch where I'm going, cause I'm not," said the purple haired girl as she was carrying her shopping bags. Suddenly, she tripped and fell screaming, dropping her bag of berries in the contest. Everybody else gasped. But before the berries hit the ground, Grumpig used its psychic powers to stop the berries in midair and put the berries back in the back. The girl crashed to the ground on her face. Grumpig gently put the bag down onto the ground. Everybody began to clap and cheer for Grumpig's feat. "Grumpig used Psychic and saved the berries," said Max. "Thanks everyone! We'll be in the contest. Come cheer for us, tomorrow. Thank you," said the girl. "Grumpig, Grumpig," said Grumpig. "Oh. You're in the contest? That must mean you're a coordinator too," said May. "Yeah. My name's Kelly and this is my partner, Grumpig," said Grumpig. "Grum," said Grumpig. "Sot that's what a Grumpig looks like," said Ash. He took out his Pokédex to get data on it.

(Insert "Pokédex Theme, Hoenn Version" from Pokémon)

"Grumpig, the Manipulate Pokémon. Grumpig is the evolved form of Spoink. Using its dark pearl to magnify its psychic waves, it is able to manipulate its opponents easily," said the Pokédex.

(End Music)

"It seems well trained," said Brock. "Oui," said Pepé in agreement. "This could be your biggest competition yet, May," said Max. "It could be," said May. "Hi. I guess that means you're entering it too?" asked Kelly. "Yes," said May. Just then, Kelly spotted Fifi with Ash and co. "Hey. You're Fifi La Fume!" said Kelly. "Oui. Zat would be moi," said Fifi. "I was there, the day you and your mentor rallied all those Pokémon Trainers to save Ash & his friends and defeat Team Rocket!" said Kelly. "Right you ahre," said Fifi.

A little later, Ash and co. and Kelly sat down at some benches. "Grumpig's dark pearl is really pretty, Kelly," said May. "Thank you, May. It's really hard to keep it sparkling like that. I have to be really careful and only use the best ingredients to make Grumpig's Pokéblocks," said Kelly. "The key to being a good coordinator is making good Pokéblocks," said Brock. "Might as well kiss that third ribbon goodbye," sneered Max. "Hey, nobody asked you, Max," scolded May. "Be nice to your sister," said Sorrel.

"Third ribbon?! Oh, does that mean you already have two other ribbons?" asked Kelly. "Well I don't really like showing them off," said May, sounding embarrassed. But Kelly and Grumpig began to search May, much to her discomfort. May got out her ribbon case and showed them. The first one, which was pink was the one she won during the Fallarbor Town Contest. The second one was orange and that won she earned during the Verdanturf Contest. "Here they are," said May. "Wow. They're beautiful, May. Both of them," said Kelly. "Grumpig," said Grumpig. "Ziss ees ze first time I've seen zem too. Ahnd I hahve to ahgree weeth Kelly ahbout zeir beauty," said Fifi. "Well Grumpig, it looks like we've got some serious competition in this contest," said Kelly. Grumpig grunted in agreement. May chuckled. "Well, thanks. But I'm not all that good. I only got those ribbons cause Pokémon worked hard and came through for me. Then, in the last contest, I didn't do well at all. And so this time, I'm determined to get off on a fresh start," said May.

"I bet you will. Now let me show you my ribbon, okay?" asked Kelly. She opened up her case, showing everybody a dark red-orange ribbon. "Like it?" asked Kelly. "Oh wow! That is so cool, Kelly! Good job. I want another ribbon in my collection!" said May excitedly. "Well, it's very good you signed up for the Lilycove Contest. That ribbon is super cool!" said Kelly. "Awesome! And I plan on winning it too!" said May happily. "Now just hold it right there," said Kelly. "Huh?" asked May. "I'm gonna win the Lilycove Ribbon so don't get any ideas," said Kelly. "You might, but I'm not gonna give up without a fight," said May. "You're on, May," said Kelly. "Grum," said Grumpig. "Well, looks like they're rivals now," said Ash. "Pika pika," said Pikachu in agreement. "That's for sure. May's fired up," said Max.

"Hey Kelly, do you know anything about this omelet restaurant we read about?" asked Brock. "Huh?" asked Kelly. She saw Brocks' guide book. "Gimme that!" said Kelly, grabbing the book. "You do not want to go to that place!" said Kelly. "Why not?" asked May. "It's just that, this restaurant's really went downhill since they put it in the guide. It used to be really popular," said May. Max chuckled. "Sounds to me that they got big for their britches," said May. "Like you, huh?" asked Max. May got annoyed by Max's rude comment. "Watch it Max!" said May, pulling Brock by the ear. Brock let out a horrified gasp. "Brock, why are you screaming?" asked Ash. "Pikachu," said Pika. "Oh, I'm not sure. Guess I was feeling Max's pain," said Brock as he clutched his ears. Everybody stared at Brock. "Okay," said Max. "I have a good idea, you guys," said Kelly. "Huh?" asked Ash & co. "Come on home with me. My mom's home cooking is way better than any restaurant anyway," said Kelly, winking. "Sounds great. Sure your mom won't mind?" asked May.

It wasn't long before Kelly led everybody to her home, which was actually a Pokéblock shop. "Here we are, this is my house," said Kelly. "So you have a Pokéblock shop," said Ash. "Pika," said Pikachu. Everybody soon saw the stock of various flavors of Pokéblocks in jars on shelves. Some of the jars were shaped like Pokémon. "Wow," said May. "Look at that," said Max. "Ooh la la," said Fifi. "All these different kinds of Pokéblocks were really made in your shop?" asked May. "That's right. The best in town. Mom, I'm home. I got the berries you wanted," said Kelly. Kelly's mom emerged from the kitchen. She was a woman with brow hair and wore a white scarf on her head, an orange dress and a yellow & green apron. "That's my girl, Kelly," said Kelly's Mom. "These are friends I met at the market today," said Kelly. Just then, Ash's stomach began to growl. Ash chuckled before everybody else laughed. "Hungry, are you? I just got the thing to fill you right up," said Kelly.

Very soon, Kelly's mom prepared some sort of stew made with Pokéblocks. "Wow," said Ash. "Pika," said Pikachu. "It's the shop's famous Pokéblock Stew," said Kelly's Mom. The Pokémon Trainers and skunks cringed. "Gotcha there. It's Lilycove Stew," said Kelly's Mom. "Made from the freshest ingredients from the Lilycove shore. Mom's famous for it," said Kelly. "Yeah, I can believe that," said Ash. "Pika Pikachu," said Pikachu. Everybody began to dig in. "Mmm. Tastes great," said Max. "The broth is really rich," said Brock. "I bet its healthy too," said May. "There's lots of it. So eat up," said Kelly. "Great," said May. "My mahthair ees fahmous fahr hair cookeeng too. She's one of ze best chefs een ahll of Pahrees," said Fifi. "Really. Enjoy, kids. I'll be back in the shop," said Kelly's Mom. And she left the kitchen. "Okay," said Kelly. "Thank you," said Ash & co. "Merci," said Pepé and Fifi. "Curious about the shop, May?" asked Kelly. "Um. Yeah," said May. "Okay. I'll give you a tour then," said Kelly. "I'd love that," said May.

"Thanks for lunch, Kelly," said Ash. "Huh?" asked the two girls. "Time to get back to training," said Ash. "Pikachu," said Pikachu. "Already? Food didn't have time to reach your stomach yet," said Max. "I need to get in some practicing on my attacks," said Ash. "You're not in the contest," said May. "No, it's for my gym battle. Guess we both have stuff to work on. I've got to get Swellow to learn Aerial Ace," said Ash. Fifi turned to Pikachu with a lovey dovey look, making Pikachu uncomfortable. "Well, now zat I know zat Ahsh ees going to be traineeng Swellow, I hahve you fahr ze whahle ahfternoon, my leettle spahrk plug," said Fifi. She let out a giggle. "I'm not your little spark plug!" snapped Pikachu. "Aaawwww. It looks Fifi likes Pikachu," said Kelly. "Oui. She's been een lahve weeth heem evair seence he sahved hair two years ahgo," said Pepé. "But Pikachu doesn't seem to be comfortable from Fifi's attempts to woo him," said Sorrel.

Kelly and her mother showed May how to use a berry blender to make Pokéblocks. Max went to watch Ash practice with Swellow. Pepé and Fifi were watching too. Fifi had her tail wrapped around Pikachu, much to his discomfort. "Alright, Swellow! Now climb!" said Ash. "Swellow! Swellow!" squawked Swellow as it ascended to the sky. "Good job! Now Aerial Ace!" said Ash. Swellow began to descend toward a stick that was tied to a tree branch by a rope. But unfortunately, it crashed to the ground. "Not quite," said Ash. "Le ouch," said Fifi. "Whoa, that looked bad," said Max. "Are you okay?" asked Ash as he and Max ran up to Swellow. "Swellow," groaned Swellow. "It must hurt crashing like that," said Max. "I know. It can't seem to learn that attack," said Ash.

Just then, everybody heard a chuckle. It belonged to a bearded old man who wore a green uniform with a brown vest. He also carried a walking stick. "You'll eventually teach it Aerial Ace, young man. But at that rate, it'll take you a hundred years or so," said the old man. "Who are you?" asked Ash. "Are you some kind of expert or something?" asked Max. "When I was younger, I was known as Vladimir the Attacker," replied the old man. Ash gasped. "You're Vladimir the Attacker?" asked Max. "Pika," said Pikachu. "Now, now. I go by Ralph now. I can still teach a Pokémon an attack," said Vladimir. "That's incredible!" said Ash. "No way!" said Max. "Do you think you can help me teach Swellow Aerial Ace properly?" asked Ash. "I can see that you're very determined. Very well, I shall teach you," said Vladimir.

Vladimir led Ash, Pikachu, Swellow, Fifi, Pepé and Max to a training course that was going to help Swellow. Lorelei, Verity and Sorrel were present too. Vladimir owned a Pidgeotto like the one Ash had before it became a Pidgeot. He had his Pidgeotto demonstrate how to use the training course properly. Swellow had to watch closely as Pidgeotto demonstrated. Pikachu was feeling nervous. Verity's Piplup was out of its Pokéball. "What's the matter, Pikachu? Are you nervous, wondering if Swellow will be able to pull off Aerial Ace," said Piplup. "No. I'm nervous cause Fifi over there, wants to get her hands and lips all over me?" replied Pikachu. Fifi was a couple of feet away from him, sitting on her stomach. She made some kissy faces, with her lips turning a luscious pink. Pikachu shrieked and jumped into an empty tree stump. Fifi just giggled before jumping into the tree stump. The tree was very tight for the both of them.

"A beet of a tight squeeze, my leettle spahrk plug, no?" asked Fifi. "I told you, I'm not your little spark plug!" cried Pikachu. He tried to run, but Fifi grabbed him by the tail. "But my leettle one, Fifi hahs a lifetime of keesses to give to vous!" cried Fifi. "All the more reason to avoid you!" cried Pikachu. Fifi then gave a good yank that pulled Pikachu toward her and began to hug and kiss him again. Pepé Le Pew then began to sing as Fifi attempted to woo Pikachu.

"I'd say it's the most disgusting thing!" cried Pikachu as Fifi smothered him with lipstick kisses once again. Pepé began to walk away. "Hey! Where are you going?!" asked Pikachu. "Why, I've gahtta get Brahck ahnd Lahrelei tahgethair. So you two hahve fun," said Pepé. "You can't leave me with this lovesick maniac!" cried Pikachu. Pikachu finally burst free and angrily fired a Thunderbolt at Pepé. The skunk's tail acted like a lightning rod and zapped him. "Le youch!" cried Pepé. And he ran off.

Pikachu began to make a run for it, but Fifi hopped after Pikachu once again. Pikachu screamed as the lovesick skunkette chased after him. "I lahve eet when he plays hahrd to get!" said Fifi. She let out a giggle. Fifi then leapt toward Pikachu, ready to pounce him. Reacting quickly, Pikachu let out a Thunderbolt attack. "Pikachuuuuuuuuuuuu!" cried Pikachu as he fired the electricity. Fifi screamed as she got shocked. She landed on the ground on her butt. Her fur and hair became poofed up to the point that she looked like a walking fluff ball. "I hahte eet when he messes up my hair ahnd fur!" mumbled Fifi. Pikachu laughed hysterically at the sight of how ridiculous Fifi looked. Fifi gave him a dirty look and prepared to stink him out, cocking her tail like a gun. Pikachu stopped laughing and ran off to meet up with Ash.

Later, Verity got to work, brushing Fifi's hair and fur back to normal. Currently, the only thing Verity need to fix up was her tail and hair. "Ziss ees one reasahn why eet's hahrd to woo Peekahchu. Eef he zahps me, my fur ahnd hair becahme ahll messed up," complained Fifi. "Well it serves you right for being so aggressive in your wooing," said Verity. Verity finished brushing Fifi's hair. But suddenly, it became all spiked up again. Fifi growled angrily. "I'll keell heem!" cried Fifi. "No, you won't. Fifi, there are other ways to get Pikachu to like you other than chasing him and hugging and kissing him nonstop," said Verity. "But zat's ahll I know," said Fifi. "But that's no excuse. The more you chase him, the farther he gets and the harder it is to win his heart. If you want to win his heart, why not do it through his stomach?" suggested Verity. "Hees stahmahch?" asked Fifi. "Yes. Kelly is teaching May how to make Pokéblocks with the Berry Blender. So, maybe she can teach you how to make a Pokéblock batch just for Pikachu," said Verity. "Le sigh. Ahlright. I'll learn how to mahke Pahkéblahcks," said Fifi. "That's the spirit, Fifi," said Verity. Pepé Le Pew began to make his move of trying to get Brock and Lorelei together. He watched Brock and Lorelei writing some notes in order to figure out their hand writing. Once he studied their hand writing, he knew what to do.

Verity led Fifi back to the berry shop. As they were walking, they heard the sounds of somebody sounding disgusted. The two ran to see what was going on. The two girls saw May's Bulbasaur, Skitty and Combusken, looking kind of sick. Beautifly was drinking what appeared to be a Pokéblock blended into a liquid. "Sahcrebleu! Whaht hahppened?" asked Fifi. "May had her Pokémon try some Pokéblocks she made," said Brock. "They all hate it," said May sadly. "Not all of them. Your Beautifly seems to like it just fine," said Kelly. "Look at it this way. Now it doesn't look like you forgot the recipe," said Brock. "That's it. I'll keep trying until I get my own original," said May. "That's a good way to look at it, May. You can't let one failed experiment get you down," said Kelly.

"How long did it take you, Kelly? Did your mom share all your recipes with you?" asked May. "Hmm. Now that I think about it, mom didn't me any of her recipes. She's always nice to her customers, but I had to learn stuff for myself. It worked out okay though. We never would've figured out what Grumpig would've liked without that experimenting," said Kelly. "Pig. Grumpig," said Grumpig. Kelly giggled. "Yeah. Guess that's encouraging," said May. "Last year, when I won the contest, mom was really proud of me because she knew I pretty much did it all by myself. It sure wasn't always easy, but we never just give up, do we?" said Kelly. "Grumpig," said Grumpig. "Someday, I want to get good enough at it to take over the family business and run the whole shop. Maybe I'll even teach classes to make Pokéblocks and tell everyone to bring the best out of their Pokémon. Yeah!" said Kelly. "That sounds like a really good plan," said May. "Thanks. Now since you have two ribbons already, you're probably entering the Grand Festival," said Kelly. "I sure am," said May.

"Okay then. So your plan is to be a top coordinator or even an instructor, huh?" asked Kelly. "Well, I haven't really thought of that ahead," said May, sweating in embarrassment. "Uh," said Kelly. "For now, I think we'll just keep traveling. I feel like there's a whole world out there that my Pokémon and I haven't experienced yet," said May. "That's true. I guess there's no sense in trying to rush into the future when there's so much learning to do. Right?" asked Kelly. "Right. So we'll just keep learning and growing, guys," said May. All the Pokémon grunted. "Kelly, you know I'm going to be giving it all I've got in the contest tomorrow," said May. "I wouldn't expect anything less. So will we," said Kelly. Grumpig snorted.

"Excuse moi, Kelly. But do you sink you cahn teach me how to mahke sahme Pahkéblahcks?" asked Fifi. "Sure. Why do you want to make some?" asked Kelly. "I wahnt to mahke sahme fahr Peekahchu. I hahpe to ween hees heart through hees stahmahch," said Fifi. "Oh, so you want to make some for Pikachu. Sure I can help you," said Kelly. "Merci," said Fifi happily.

Kelly and the others returned to the berry shop along with the others so that Fifi can learn to make Pokéblocks. "Hey Brock, this letter came for you," said Kelly's Mother. "Me?" asked Brock. "Yes. It was delivered to me by some kid named Gogo," said Kelly's Mother. "Gahgo? ahs een Gahgo Dahdo?" asked Fifi. "Yes," said Kelly's Mother. "He's one of my clahssmates," said Fifi. Brock opened the letter and began to read it.

Dear Brock,

Ever since we crossed paths days after the Battle for Lilycove City, I couldn't stop thinking about you. I was also told about your troubles of trying to find true love and how it got you into trouble years ago. And I was also told about how you're trying to forget about love all together. But what you really need is a second chance. I may be the girl who might cure you of your heart of stone, my rock of romance.

Love,

Lorelei XO

Brock put the letter down. "Where's Lorelei?" asked Brock. "She's wahtcheeng Ahsh trying to teach Swellow Aerial Ahce," said Fifi. "I need to politely tell her that I have no intent on starting anymore romantic relationships with any girls," said Brock. "Just, don't too hard on her," said May. "I won't," said Brock.

Meanwhile, Ash and Swellow were taking a break from training. Ash's other Pokémon were out too. Among one of them was his Scolipede. It was a huge, centipede-like Pokémon that usually stood with the front half of its body raised vertically off the ground. Its segmented body was dark magenta, except for its smooth, dark gray underside. Long, slightly bent horns similar to antennae extended from its head, as well as an identical pair of horns on its rear. Purple bands decorated these horns, and teardrop-shaped rings of the same color mark each body segment, one on each side of its body. It possessed four pairs of short, purple fore-claws on the body segments that make up its neck, which was used to inject poison. The four hind legs were longer, thicker, and spaced farther apart. Each hind limb had curved dark gray bands around the middle.

Pikachu was cleaning off the kiss marks Fifi left on his face before he zapped her earlier. "So, Pikachu, how are things between you and Fifi?" asked Grovyle. "Have you confessed to her that you love her?" teased Corphish. He along with Grovyle and Swellow began to laugh. "No, I have not," said Pikachu. "Admit it Pikachu. You love her," said Swellow. "No I don't," said Pikachu. "Then how come you two went on a date after that big battle?" asked Swellow. "That's because I felt sorry for her when Pepé told me about how Johnny Pew treated her. I had no idea she was going to tag along with us for the rest of the summer," said Pikachu. "Pikachu and Fifi sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage. Mother comes along with a baby carriage!" chanted Swellow & Corphish. The two resumed laughing, but not for long. "Pikachuuuuuuuuu!" cried Pikachu as he zapped the two Pokémon. Corphish and Swellow screamed as they got zapped. After the zapping, the two were black as soot. "You know it serves you two right," said Scolipede. "Love is strange at times," said Torkoal.

Lorelei shook her head. She took out her makeup case to adjust her makeup. But when she opened it, Gogo Dodo suddenly popped up. "Hello," said Gogo. Lorelei shrieked due to Gogo suddenly popping out of her makeup case. She slapped Gogo in the face due to instinct. A red hand mark was left on Gogo's face. "Ouch," said Gogo. "What do you think you were doing in my makeup case?!" asked Lorelei. "Name's Gogo Dodo. I like to pop up in places nobody would expect. I came to deliver this for you," said Gogo, handing Lorelei an envelope. "For me?" asked Lorelei. Gogo Dodo nodded. "Later," said Gogo. The Wackyland resident then went down a tiny hole. "That was bizarre," said Ash. "Pikachu," said Pikachu in agreement. Lorelei opened the envelope and read it.

Dear Lorelei,

I didn't want to say this in front of everybody, but the truth is, when we first met days ago, I was starting to fall in love with you. Ash has most likely told you about how I had bad luck with romance and how it ruined me for a while. Girls had been avoiding me like a plague. And I was hoping that you would be the girl that would bring me out of my bad situation. You are beautiful like snow on a cold winter's day. You're just the girl to melt the ice that has bound my heart in the last few years.

Love,

Brock

"So Brock lied to us that he was through with love?" asked Sorrel. "That maybe the case. However, I must tell him that I can't have a relationship with him," said Lorelei. "Is it because he's too young for you?" asked Ash. "That's not the actual case. The truth is . . . ," said Lorelei.

Brock started to head to where Lorelei was, but Lorelei was walking back to the berry shop. The two then crossed paths. "Lorelei, what are you doing here?" asked Brock. "I was on my way to find you because you wrote this love letter to me," said Lorelei. "I did? I didn't write a love letter to you," said Brock. "You didn't?" asked Lorelei. "No. But you wrote a love letter to me," said Brock. "What? I didn't write a love letter either," said Lorelei. "But if we didn't write any love letters to each other, who wrote them?" asked Brock.

The two decided to gather everybody at the berry shop. "So why have you called us all?" asked Max. "Apparently, me and Lorelei wrote each other love letters, which we didn't," said Brock. "So it seems to us, one of you wrote fake love letters to try to get us two together," said Lorelei. "Don't look at me. I've been training Swellow all day," said Ash. "I was watching Ash train," said Max. "Me too," said Sorrel. "I was busy trying to fix Fifi's hair," said Verity. "Ze letters dahn't mahtch my hahndwreeting," said Fifi. "I was busy trying to learn how to make Pokéblocks with Kelly," said May. Kelly nodded.

Everybody then turned to Pepé Le Pew. "Guess that only leaves you, Pepé. Did you write these?" asked Brock. Pepé was silent for a moment. Until finally, he cracked. "Ahlright, ahlright. I cahnfess. I wrahte zose lahve letters. Eet deesturbs me zat you, Brahck, would lahck up your heart to mahke sure you dahn't let your desire fahr a geerl cause you to hurt ahsh or ahny of your othair friends ahgain. zere ahre othair ways to mahke sure you dahn't mahke ze sahme meestahke, but lahckeeng your heart eesn't one of zem. I just wahnted to reignite ze spahrks of lahve een your heart," said Pepé.

The next thing Pepé knew, he received a slap in the face from Lorelei. A red hand mark on his face as a result. "That may be so, but what making fake love letters is not the way to help Brock. And besides, I already have a boyfriend," said Lorelei. Pepé's eyes widened when he heard those words. "Ahlready . . . hahve a . . . boyfriend?! Why deedn't ahnybahdy tell me?!" asked Pepé. "You nevair ahsked," said Fifi. "Who is your boyfriend anyway?" asked May. "You'll see sometime," said Lorelei, winking. "Le sigh. I'm bahck to square one," said Pepé. He walked away sadly. Verity shook her head.

"Peekahchu," called Fifi. Pikachu's blood ran cold upon hearing Fifi's voice. He was about to run when Kelly spoke up. "Fifi's not here to make a mess of your face with her lipstick kisses," said Kelly. "She's not?" asked Pikachu. "No. Vereety suggested zat I mahke sahme Pahkéblahcks fahr you," said Fifi. She got out the dish with the Pokéblocks she made. "Wahnt to try sahme?" asked Fifi. "Oh. Okay," said Pikachu. Pikachu grabbed a handful of Pokéblocks and began to eat them. "Do you like zem?" asked Fifi anxiously. Pikachu was silent for a couple of seconds before speaking up. "These Pokéblocks are actually good. What did you make them with?" asked Pikachu. "I mixed certain berries I know zat you like. plus, I ahdded ahn extra, nahn berry eengredient," said Fifi. "What is that?" asked Pikachu. "Ketchup," said Fifi. "Wow! It's no wonder it tastes so good!" said Pikachu. Fifi smiled. "Merci. I knew you'd like zem," said Fifi. The pretty skunkette then picked up Pikachu and French kissed him, leaving pink lipstick marks on his cheeks. Pikachu just stood there blinking, earning a giggle from Fifi. "Why'd you kiss me on both cheeks?" asked Pikachu. "Eet's French keesseeng. You're suppahsed to keess bahth cheeks when you do eet," said Fifi. She giggled again.

The next day, it was time for the Lilycove City Pokémon Contest. Vivian Meridian, the announcer for the contest stepped on stage. She was a woman with blue eyes, orange hair and a mole below her left eye. She wore a dark pink blouse, a light pink shirt, red lipstick, a black choker with a gold gem and red high heels. Vivian was also well endowed. "Ladies and gentleman, welcome once again to the world famous Lilycove Coordinator Contest here in beautiful Lilycove City. I'm your host, Vivian Meridian. And now, allow me to introduce you to our panel of distinguished judges. Head judge, Mr. Contesta, Pokémon Fan Club President, Mr. Sukizo. And your own Nurse Joy from here, in Lilycove City," said Vivian. This Nurse Joy had an orange cross on her hat. Everybody began to clap and cheer.

"This'll be good," said Max. "We know Combusken is in the best shape it's ever been in. So it's all about May's ability," said Brock. "I'm sure she's gonna do great. But I have to get back to practice. Ralph is waiting for me," said Ash. "Okay," said Brock. Ash and Pikachu began to leave. "Good luck," said Max. Fifi started to follow after Ash and Pikachu. "You're naht staying to wahtch ze cahntest?" asked Pepé. "Ahnd squandair a chahnce to spend time weeth Peekahchu. I dahn't sink so," said Fifi. And she left.

"Here's what will be going home with today's winner," said Vivian. She held out the ribbon that would be given to the winner of the contest. It was blue and green with light blue spots. "Isn't it beautiful? And very prestigious. The best coordinators come from all over to participate in the Lilycove Contest. You can be sure to see some amazing exploits today!" said Vivian. The coordinators were watching Vivian's announcements on a monitor in the waiting room. May was wearing a beautiful coordinator outfit for the contest. It was a two piece outfit that was in various shades of pink, purple, white and yellow. She wore a pink and purple ribbon in her hair, forming a small ponytail. "What a beautiful ribbon. It's gonna look great in my case," said May. "Don't forget, you're not the only one who's determined to win," said Kelly. "Good lucky, Kelly," said May. Combusken and Grumpig glared at each other.

"Okay, let's jump right into the opening round competition! Introducing coordinator #1. It's May!" said Vivian. Everybody began to cheer as May stepped onto the stage. "Wow. May's in the lead off spot," said Brock. "She'll be fine if she stays calm," said Max. "May is well established as a coordinator with two ribbons already to her credit," said Vivian. Ash, Pikachu, Fifi and Swellow could see the action of the contest from a monitor that was outside the contest hall. "Show 'em how it's done, May," said Ash. "Pika," said Pikachu. "Ziss ought to be good," said Fifi. "All eyes are on coordinator #1 as she begins!" said Vivian.

May took out Combusken's Pokéball. "Combusken, let's give 'em a show!" said May as she threw the ball. The Pokéball opened up and the said Pokémon came out. "Combusken!" said Combusken. "And Combusken powerfully takes the stage! A masterful introduction from one powerful Pokémon," said May. "Combusken looks great!" said Verity. "That was a near perfection entrance," said Lorelei. "Oui," said Pepé. "Way to go, Combusken. Now follow with Fire Spin!" said May. Combusken began to spin around, with flames surrounding its body. But the flaming tornado was bigger than expected. "Combusken, that's too much!" cried May, trying to shield herself from the flames. She stumbled and fell onto the ground. Suddenly, one of the stray flames started to head toward May, causing her to scream. Vivian screamed too. "May! Get away!" cried Max. Everybody else gasped too. "No, May!" cried Ash. "Pika!" cried Pikachu. "I cahn't wahtch!" said Fifi, burying her face in her tail.

Has Combusken's Fire Spin spun out of control?! Or has it turned on its own Trainer?! How will May find her way out of this one?! Stay tuned!

I hoped you enjoyed reading this adaptation of this "Pokémon Advanced Challenge" episode. I changed it so that Fifi ate the sour berry instead of Ash to show that Ash has grown smarter thanks to Lorelei's lesson. I couldn't resist using the song of "Most Befuddling Thing" from the Sword in the Stone. As you read, May is wearing the contest outfit from OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. As for the identity of Lorelei's boyfriend, you won't see who it is until the Kyogre vs. Groudon affair. The scenes with Fowlmouth and Henery Hawk, I know to you they may seem like pointless filler. But it is actually essential to the story of the mini series. You'll see why. But anyway, see you next episode . . .
