Come the morning, Cat-Kim was asleep in the office chair. Shego cooked a large breakfast, setting most of it aside for her. She didn't wake until midday, when there was a startled thump and yowl from the office. Shego glanced in to find an embarrassed looking Cat-Kim picking herself up from a heap on the floor.

"Breakfast's in the kitchen if you're hungry."

And, given the day before, she almost certainly was.

"Meow," said Cat-Kim, confirming that theory.

She gulped down all the food Shego had prepared, along with several apples and a jug of water.

"Did you work all night?" Shego asked.

"Sooner we fix this, sooner I can go home."

"Touche."

The next week passed by in that routine. Kim, in cat and human form, emerged from the office to eat and occasionally bathe, but spent the rest of her time working with Twins One and Two and the Nerdlinger on her cat problem. Human Kim looked paler and shakier every time she appeared in that form.

"You're pushing yourself too hard," Shego said, leaning against the office door.

"We have to be close."

"And what good will that do you if you strain yourself to death?"

Kim sighed - and promptly turned back into a cat. Shego reached down to her. Cat-Kim hissed and swiped at her. Shego caught her around the middle and scooped her up. "Less of that." She carried her through to the bedroom, which had been virtually unused since Kim arrived, and dropped her on the bed. "Some sleep won't kill you." She ignited one hand, her plasma glowing. "Take it from me, being fully rested helps."

"Mu," grumbled Cat-Kim, curling up on the pillow.

The next few days took on a new routine where Cat-Kim would emerge to nap in various places and times throughout the day, which was at least better than what she had been doing to herself. On the fourth day, she joined Shego on the balcony, curling up in the sun. Shego raised an eyebrow and fetched her a cushion.

Kim - human for another short while - sat slumped in the office chair. Her nerdlinger's face was displayed on the screen of her communicator.

"I'm sorry, Kim. I've tried everything I can think of. We can't even replicate it, even with the parts we know Drakken had."

"Then what?" Kim raised her hands. "I can't live stuck like this!"

"Maybe you should consider GJ's offer-"

"Don't," Shego said darkly from behind her.

"Wade," Kim sighed.

"We'll keep trying. I'm just not sure where to go from here."

Shego drummed her fingers against the doorframe. "Would it help if you had the gun?"

Kim jumped - and turned into a cat. Again.

"Well, yes," said the Nerdlinger. "I could probably- Kim, is that Shego?"

"Guilty," Shego replied. "So you were saying?"

"If I had the gun, I could probably just work out which way is reverse. But we can't exactly just walk in there and pick it up."

Shego rolled her eyes. "Maybe you can't." She grabbed Cat-Kim around the middle. "Come on, Kitty. We're going on a road trip."
