The mansion was filled to brim with many emotions from the fighters who had just finished watching the presentation, some were happy, some were disappointed and some were sad about what was announced. But a certain bounty hunter was overly excited at the prospect of a new adventure for her at some point in the future.
"Finally, after four years! Finally I'm getting another adventure!" Exclaimed Samus, as she had just finished watching the presentation. She then looked over at Mario approaching her, rushed over to him, pulled him up by his overalls and yelled "Thank you Mario, thank you so much for this!"
"Hey don't thank me, thank the people that kept asking for you to get new adventures. Thank the people who wanted to wait with making this adventure until the time was right." Replied Mario.
"You're right." Said Samus as she put Mario down "I'm just glad that we haven't been forgotten about."
"Oh speak for yourself! A voice called out, Samus and Mario turned to see Captain Falcon with an upset look on his face. Behind him were people who also hadn't had a game in a long time, including R.O.B., Isaac, Mr Game & Watch, Lucas, Ness, Team Star Fox and Palutena. "Nice to see that you remember her franchise, but all of ours have been left in the dust for years."
"Falcon, how did you get out of that cliff?" Asked Mario.
"Kirby picked me up and brought me back to the mansion. Don't dodge the question." Said Captain Falcon.
"Look, I'm truly sorry for that. But you have to understand, for some of your franchises we don't have any ideas at the moment. So, please all I ask is that none of you are too upset about this." Replied Mario, trying to diffuse the situation.
"Off course, you don't have anything for our franchises. But New Super Mario Bros 32 deluxe HD edition is totally fine, even if it is the same game over and over again." Scoffed Captain Falcon.
Mario got an upset look on his face and replied "Ok, now you're taken it too far Douglas. You can be mad about not having games all you want, but when you get personal it goes too far. Now, apologise before I tell the hands."
This made Captain Falcon look less angry at the plumber in red, and so he responded "Sorry, that went too far."
"Yes, you did go too far. Now listen, one day all of you will be getting new games. I don't know when, but I can guarantee that you will all be getting new games." Said Mario.
"We better, our last game wasn't even good." Said Fox.
"It's been nine years Mario." Added Palutena.
"For me it has been eleven years." Said Isaac.
"I had one game nearly thirty years ago." Said R.O.B.
"Mine wasn't even brought abroad." Said Lucas.
"Not legally." Muttered Ness.
"Look, you're all upset and I get it. But don't let it ruin the festivity's, we actually had a good presentation this year." Said Mario.
"Fine, but this isn't the last you've heard of this." Said Falco, after which the small angry mob left Mario alone.
"You ok Mario?" Asked Samus.
Mario sighed and replied with a defeated tone in his voice "It's always the same, can't we have one presentation that doesn't make someone upset. Just one, that's all I ask for."
"I'm sure they won't be as mad at you tomorrow, so don't worry about it too much." Said Samus, who then saw that several people were crawling into the mansion looking beaten and bruised. "Uhm... Mario... you might want to look behind you. I'm pretty sure some people could use some words of encouragement."
Mario noticed the group of people, and immediately approached them while saying "Is everyone alright?"
Meta Knight looked up at Mario with anger in his eyes and replied "Do not speak to me plumber! The next time you need someone for a reveal, don't ask me or I'll actually stab you with a sword. And I won't miss." After which he collapsed onto the floor, while his mask broke into two.
"Ay yah, that was brutal." Said Min Min, as she used she struggled to stand up and picked Meta Knight up to bring him to the infirmary.
"Mario... why did it have to be him? Why not anyone else. I thought Sephiroth was a lot... but why this guy... He throws people of cliffs... And I think my wings have burned off." Said Pit, as he used his bow to support himself.
"I'm... sure it's not that bad..." Mario lied, as he saw that Pits wings had indeed been burned off. "Why don't you come with me, I'll take you to the infirmary." He then turned to Samus and whispered to her "Samus, watch over the party and make sure nothing goes out of hand."
"You can count on me." Replied Samus, to which Mario nodded and took Pit away to the infirmary. Leaving Samus alone to wander the Mansion to make sure to watch over everyone in attendance.
And while Samus was walking around, one table at the mansion was looking rather glum. This was the table where Ryu, Ken and Mega Man were sitting all of whom were complaining about about their own presentation "I wanted Mega Man 12!" Yelled Mega Man.
"Yeah, well we wanted to have a new street fighter. Guess we can't have everything." Replied Ken, trying to hide his annoyance.
"Don't worry guys, I'm sure that things will get better." Said Ryu.
"Easy for you to say Mr Inner Peace." Said Ken.
"What was even the point of that presentation!" Whined Mega Man.
"To show what they were working on." Said Ryu.
"No, I'm kind of agreeing with Mega Man that presentation had no point." Said Ken.
"Well look at the bright side, at least we were invited to this party." Said Ryu.
"You're right, we can't be too mad about that." Said Ken, to which Mega Man nodded in agreement.
In the meantime Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Banjo and Kazooie were sitting at another table thinking the presentation over. Donkey Kong let out some hot air out of his nose, while Diddy Kong said "I'm sure they've got something big planned for us, right? I mean those leaks had to have come from somewhere, right?"
"Face it kid, they've forgotten about you. You're no longer important to them." Said Kazooie.
Banjo smacked his backpack, causing Kazooie to go back into it while he was saying "Kazooie, don't be mean!" He then looked at Diddy Kong and said "Don't worry about it, I'm sure you'll get something."
"And even if you don't get something this year, just remember you still had two great games come out in the last couple of years." Said a voice belonging to King K Rool who had approached the table and then added "And besides, I haven't been a villain for the past decade." Hearing this Donkey Kong picked up a banana from the table and threw it at K Rool, who asked "What's this?"
"A banana, DK wants to have a truce for the rest of the celebration." Said Diddy Kong, as he translated the noises Donkey Kong was making.
"Well thank you, I won't say no to that. Cause I don't want to be alone on a day like this." Said K Rool as he joined the group at the table, and the group began to chat amongst themselves.
At another table the two younger Links were admiring their much older counterpart and complimenting him based on what they saw at the presentation "That was so cool!" Exclaimed Young Link.
"Being able to explore both the land and the sky, I wish I could have done that during my adventures." Said Toon Link.
"I wouldn't sell yourselves short like that, you've travelled through time and you've explored the ocean. I'm sure that you both had some great adventures that none of us know about." Said Link.
"Still, yours will be so awesome." Said both Young and Toon Link at the same time.
"Guys..." Said Link, with a hint of embarrassment in his voice.
"Regardless, the next adventure in the timeline is shaping up to be an interesting one." Said Sheikh, as they approached with the Link Between World's version of Zelda.
"Oh hey, what are you two doing here?" Asked Link.
"We came to congratulate you on the new adventure." Said Zelda.
"Thank you, I'll be sure to make the goddess proud." Replied Link.
"Just be sure to keep your version of me safe." Replied Zelda.
"Don't worry princess, like we Links say in every tournament..." Link said, as he and the other two links stood up and all three of them said "...A link never fails his Zelda."
Zelda smiled and replied "That's all I needed to hear." After which she and Sheikh joined the three Links at the table.
In the meantime Ganondorf and Ridley were conversing within a dark corner of the room, with Ridley being the one to speak the most "Hehehehehehe, I can't wait to torment Samus some more. It's been so long since I was able to do so, maybe I'll finally be able to kill those wretched birds."
"That's nice Ridley." Said Ganondorf, growing tired of the conversation.
"Aww what's wrong Ganon? Oh wait, I know. You have to wait until next year to be a villain, while I get to be a villain this year." Ridley said in a mocking tone.
"Here is an idea Ridley, why don't you talk to me when you actually make an appearance during that adventure instead of deluding yourself into thinking that you'll make an appearance. Because last time I checked, you're supposed to be dead." Replied Ganondorf
Ridley sneered and yelled "You're just jealous!"
"Ah yes, it's jealousy." Replied Ganondorf in a mocking tone.
"Whatever." Screeched Ridley, as he flew away.
"Tch, imbecile." Scoffed Ganondorf.
"Need some company, Ganondorf." Said a voice, which turned out to be Sephiroth when Ganondorf turned around to the origin of where the voice came from.
"Sephiroth, shouldn't you be at your own party?" Asked Ganondorf.
"It finished, so we were allowed to crash this one. Now, what's this I heard about a new villain in the roster?" Asked Sephiroth.
"His name is Kazuya Mishima, and he'll be joining the roster." Said Ganondorf.
"A shame we couldn't get Heihachi, but I'm sure he'll do just fine." Said Sephiroth.
"Yes, I'm sure that with his abilities and influence that we will be able to take over the realms." Said Ganondorf.
"I'd have to agree with you on that, although it is a shame that the Capcom presentation was such a failure. Although I do love bringing despair to others." Said Sephiroth.
"It was, thankfully ours was the best." Said Ganondorf.
"You must be joking, ours was by far superior." Replied Sephiroth, after which the two glanced at each other and Sephiroth grabbed the hilt of Masamune while some dark energy began to appear in Ganondorf's hand. The two were about to lunge at each other when they were stopped by Luigi who had ran into the room and had caught everyone's attention.
"Hey everyone! The fireworks show is starting, better go outside before you miss it!" He yelled, after which everyone in the room quickly ran out to ensure that they wouldn't miss the show.
"I say that we keep our fight on hold until a later time." Said Ganondorf.
"Agreed, I'm sure we'll be able to scheme another day." Replied Sephiroth, after which the two followed the rest of the fighters outside.
Once they were outside they saw a large pile of fire works, with the fuse already being lit. A few seconds later the fireworks were launched into the sky, and the explosions began to take the shape of the heads of all the fighters, Pokemon and assist trophies in the sky. And at that moment everyone forgot about being upset over the presentation, or about upcoming adventures. Instead everyone was focused on the fireworks in the sky, and everyone was together. And although some had much more evil intentions than others, most people in attendance were feeling happy on the inside over watching the fireworks.
A/N: And that's that, a one shot that came to me after the Nintendo direct earlier today. Cause it was a lot better than what Capcom did, that was just a disappointment of a presentation. Yeah, the Nintendo presentation was cool. The new fighter was fun and unexpected, Metroid Dread came out of nowhere and looks great, the sequel to breath of the wild looks great and the rest of the direct was also enjoyable to watch. Anyways, I hope everyone enjoyed this one shot cause I had fun writing it.
