It was raining outside it was the perfect weather to match the mood that was going on in apartment 1208. Katsuki laid on the living room floor not moving at all as Naruto was stroking his hair. "Katsu Kun, good boy." Naruto says to him as he didn't know what to do for him nor did he understand how this happened.
But then as he sits on the floor with Katsuki stroking his hair a memory appears in his head the memory of his mother whom was in the same position as Katsuki right now.
Naruto's head begins to hurt and the memory begins to play even more. He remembered he was on the floor playing with the can of food which was all his family could afford since his father Minato spent all of their money on gambling and alcohol.
"The kids are worthless because of you! And the reason our youngest is quirkless is all your fault!" Minato yells at Kushina and then he smacks her and throws her one of their glass doors as he walks away saying that it's what she deserves.
Kushina cries and tries to pick it up the glass pieces. "I remember someone once told me that a person's heart is like a jar you can stuff all kinds of things inside it but when the jar breaks the person breaks with it." Naruto thinks to himself as he continues to remember what happened next.
Naruto goes over to his mother and tries to pick up one of the glass pieces wanting to help her. "Momma." Naruto says as Kushina stopped him and smiles a kind and gentle smile at her son. "Naru chan, please don't touch anything okay it's dangerous mommy will take care of it." His mother once told him and then the memory came to an end.
Naruto shakes that memory away and then tries to help Katsuki but then he sees that Katsuki was fast asleep as he could hear him snoring away. "Katsu Kun...he must be so tired." Naruto thinks to himself and then he grabbed a blanket and pillow and covered Katsuki up with the blanket and lays his head on said pillow then afterwards Naruto turns on the lights and puts on the apron. "I'll look after things until Katsu Kun feels better." Naruto thinks to himself determinedly.
Naruto then begins to cook the left over curry as he stirs it and while he stirs it he smiles and hums as more memories from his past begins to haunt him. After he was done stirring the curry Naruto begins to dust everything as he then sees blood on the floor. "It's dirty I'll go clean it up." Naruto says happily and grabs a rag and begins to wipe it up.
"There we go all clean." Naruto says cheerfully as another memory from his past pops into his head.
"Isn't it pretty Naru chan?" Kushina asked her youngest son as she was looking at the red kimono that was a gift to her from her parents. "This was a gift to me from my parents, but I don't know how to put it on, oh it would look so nice on you when you're bigger when you get married I can help you do your hair and maybe put some makeup on you and..." Kushina's happy moment was then ruined by her evil husband whom told her to stop blabbing and to sell it already along with everything else.
Kushina smiles as she then cries and laughs as she had a breakdown which Naruto was forced to watch.
The memory comes to an end and Naruto noticed something dirty and he picks it up to put it in the washer machine when he opened it he sees Katsuki's bloody clothes inside. Naruto didn't even paid any mind to them and just places the dirty thing inside said washer machine and closes it while another memory came into his head.
Naruto remembered after he and his mother left his abusive father they went into hiding and were living in a very cheap apartment but while living there Naruto began to notice his mother was breaking and he did everything he could to try to help her and make her better so one day he sneaks outside and he finds a flower.
Naruto smiles brightly and he goes over to the flower and he picks it afterwards he goes back inside to give his mother said flower. "Momma look." Naruto says getting her attention thinking that this would make his mother smile and make her feel better but he couldn't be anymore wrong.
His mother got upset when she saw that he had gone outside and begins to yell at him since she had become paranoid and had become a shut in and tells him that it was so scary outside and that they didn't have anymore money and that it was all his fault and that she was a failure.
Naruto tries to comfort her as he strokes her hair making her smile at her son.
Naruto had noticed his mother would be happy at moments then sad and then she would quickly become angry, Naruto didn't know or understood why but he did know that his mother was breaking and that if he didn't do something soon to repair the cracks then she would completely shatter.
A few days later Naruto convinced his mother to go outside while out Naruto held his mother's hand and searched everywhere to replace the jar that was breaking inside his mother that's when Naruto spotted a jar in a window and his eyes lights up and he smiles when he gets an idea. "That's it we can just replace the jar." Naruto thinks to himself as he runs across the street as Kushina screams since Naruto had almost got hit by a car.
Later on Kushina throws Naruto inside the apartment and clenches her fists. "Naruto you're never going outside again just stay inside and stay quiet forever!" She yells at him and Naruto saw that his mother was breaking even more. "No you're gonna break!" Naruto yells to her trying to get her to listen but she wouldn't and then she got so mad she did the one thing she never had done before...she slapped her own child.
An image of her abusive husband flashed in her head and her eyes widen in horror as she looks at her shaky hand and cries she then collapsed on the ground and screams in agony. Later on nightfall came and Naruto sees his mother waking up. "Naruto let's go for a walk." She says to him and she puts his favorite hoodie on him along with his bandanna around his neck that had his name stitched into it and she walks outside with him in the pouring rain as Naruto held his mother's hand he wondered where they were going and he tries to ask his mother but she didn't respond to him.
Suddenly she pushes her son against a fence near a construction site. "Goodbye Naruto." She says to her son and Naruto gets up and he runs over to her crying and grabs her hand. "Mommy please don't leave me I promise I'll be good and I won't ever ask to leave the house again please mommy." Naruto cries out but Kushina shakes her head. "No." She says and then she lets go of his hand and she points to him as her face was all scribbled out.
"I don't need you anymore...goodbye Naruto goodbye." Her voice still ringing in his head as Naruto stares at the drawing he made of his mother in the closet. Naruto then leaves the bedroom and goes over to Katsuki and holds onto him feeling very worried for him. "Katsu Kun, please wake up please I miss you...please Katsu Kun it's so lonely without you...you and I...we always felt something was missing from our lives we just didn't know what it was and now we need each other." Naruto says to him as he feels a crack and Naruto's eyes widen in realization.
"Hurting?...I was hurting all this time." Naruto thinks to himself rubbing his head that's when Katsuki wakes up. Katsuki was silent for a few seconds while Naruto looked at him feeling worried about him. "Where do you want to go?" Katsuki asked him making Naruto tilt his head a bit. "Go?" Naruto asked him as Katsuki smiles a bit. "We should go to maybe where there's a really nice beach or maybe we can go to the country up north...it's really cold up there but they have really good foods but it would be a good idea to go somewhere, where there's lots of old people we can grow our own food there and one would know who we are..."Katsuki would of continued but Naruto tugged on the blanket a bit.
"Katsu Kun you're not gonna leave the castle are you? You said the castle is a place for us to be happy together forever." Naruto says to him as he then grabs a plate and puts curry on it and served it to Katsuki and tries to get him to eat. Katsuki looks at Naruto and smiles at him softly and tells him that they had to leave since something dirty had gotten in he then hugs him and tries to tell him that he would protect him from all the dirty nasty things outside.
But Naruto wasn't having any of it he pushed Katsuki. "No! I don't want that! Katsu Kun! Do you really care about me? Do you really love me?" Naruto asked him making Katsuki confused and he tries to tell Naruto that he does but Naruto tells him that he wanted him to let him and didn't want him to leave him in the dark like he always does.
Naruto then stands up and runs to the bedroom. "I don't want to live here if all I am is a doll to you." Naruto says to him as he enters the bedroom and closes and locks the door. Katsuki heard the door opening and thinks the worst and he gets up and sees that Naruto went into the bedroom as he tries to get him to come out. "No no no! I don't want to live with you! I hate you!" Naruto yells at him feeling very angry at Katsuki as Katsuki felt his entire world shatter around him.
He fell on the floor and he couldn't move or think. "No it can't be...please don't hate me Naruto chan please...please...please... I don't want to be all alone." Katsuki thinks to himself as he flashes back to that day when he had met Naruto for the first time.
Katsuki was wearing his school uniform for UA as he was walking home when he saw a red haired woman abandoning her child as he looks at the boy whom was sitting on the ground crying not caring if he gets soaked by the rain. "She's getting away aren't you gonna go after her?" He asked him curiously making Naruto sniffle. "No her jaw will break if I'm there I know that now." Naruto cries out making Katsuki frown. "Is that love?" Katsuki asked him making Naruto sniffle some more. "Love?" He asked the teen.
"Love, when you're trying your hardest to help the person you care about." Katsuki says to him making Naruto shake his head no. "No I wanted her to live so I could live...so...it wasn't love." Naruto cries out and Katsuki felt something warming his heart for the first time in his life.
Naruto turns to Katsuki and looks at him as he saw the jar in Katsuki's heart wasn't broken but it was empty. "Your heart it isn't broken but it's empty you must believe in something right?" Naruto asked him and then something sweet had entered his heart it was like a small orange candy as Katsuki goes down on his knees and Naruto reached out for him. "I hope it fills up with something that's sweet and sparkles." Naruto says to him as he reaches his arms out to him and for the first time in his life Katsuki felt his empty heart being filled with love.
The door opens and Naruto comes out of the room and he goes over to Katsuki and hugs him. "I'm sorry Katsu Kun, I don't want to be alone either, I just don't want to just smile and call out your name anymore I worry about you I want to help you and stay by your side and be your partner in crime." Naruto says to him making tears comes down Katsuki's face when he heard that.
When Katsuki calms down he tells Naruto the entire truth and tells him that he had been hurting and lying and deceiving others and that he had just murdered someone and that they both had to run away together and Naruto completely understood. "Thank you Naruto chan for everything." Katsuki says to him making Naruto smile at him. "You're welcome Katsu Kun and I'm sorry I said I hated you." He apologizes to him and Katsuki fell back asleep.
After he fell asleep Naruto walks around the apartment he realized that he had been here a lot shorter than he had with the time with his mom but despite that Naruto was so happy. Naruto had opened the door to the balcony and for the first time Naruto steps outside into the balcony as his eyes lights up when he sees the stars. "Wow so many they are so pretty." Naruto says with awe he then looks down and shakes a bit when he sees how many people there are down below.
"No it's different now I don't have to be scared of the outside...Katsu Kun is nothing like my mom." Naruto thinks to himself angrily pouting at the thought of her as he hoped he could stay by Katsuki's side forever. "I don't need you anymore mom." Naruto says and then he felt something behind like a presence and then he heard a familiar voice. "Don't say that Naruto." He hears the voice say and then he turns around and he sees that the person was gone as Naruto wondered who it was only that they felt warm and safe.
