The building's structure shivered in the high altitude winds, the people on the ground oblivious to the chaos occurring one-hundred fifty stories up. To Gordon, the loud creaks and groans caused by the blasts were easy to ignore when the only thing between him and a two thousand-odd foot drop was a piece of rebar.

His head still rang with the blast that had sent him sailing through the window, but the obvious need for survival was helping him overcome the need to clear it. As the gecko gloves held, the surrounding material from the structure wasn't and each swing of his legs sent more of it crumbling away, bouncing off Gordon's helmet as they fell. He scrambled for anything to secure himself to, his free hand brushing the window frame before losing purchase.

His breath came out in gasps of frantic need to get to safety, but with another shudder, the debris he was holding shifted, the building shrieking out his impending doom. One last swing, arm outstretched, fingers grasping for a solid surface - a brush of neoprene on concrete - and the rebar fell.

Gordon felt his stomach plummet with it as he descended, only to come to a jarring halt as a vice-like grip wrapped around his wrist. The side of the building didn't offer any give as he collided with it, but it certainly wasn't the ground he'd almost resigned himself to. A hysterical laugh burst from his chest as he felt himself being pulled up to the windowsill by his savior. At the edge, the blonde hoisted himself through and onto the debris covered floor, blinking the sun out of his eyes as they adjusted to the darkened room.

"Thanks -" came out breathless with the edge of adrenaline.

The hand that he assumed had saved his life wrapped around his bicep and pulled him unceremoniously to his feet. If the building weren't still creaking, Gordon might've questioned it. As his eyes met the tall, purple-clad figure, he wished he would have.

"Don't thank me just yet," Fuse didn't grin, a hint of regret in his voice before physically turning the aquanaut to face the other direction.

Suddenly, falling off the building seemed like the better option as gold eyes narrowed above the bald man's twisted smile, "Gordon Tracy, what a surprise."
