Prologue: The Relic

In the woods of Mount Patch, there sits a little cottage, home to a strange woman. This woman was blessed one day with the finding of a child in the woods somewhere off. She took the child in, denoting herself a grandmother. This story is about that child, a very strange tale about relics and maidens and fighting.

Our story starts with focusing on a girl riding through the woods in her motorcycle. It was a nifty little contraption with the ability to go at least a hundred and fifty miles an hour, even off the ground. She was staring at the contraption in her hand, her eyes off the road. Sticking up from her helmet, her bunny ears twitched, the wind blowing through them.

"It's around her somewhere." She muttered. "Where could it be?"

She stared at the device, hoping she could finish this little quest before school. Her brown hair was bunching up and sticking to her forehead with the sweat gathered underneath the helmet. She was going to discard it once she got out of these woods, but she wasn't stupid enough to risk hitting a tree. She blinked the sweat from her eyes, looking to where the object could be. She hoped that all this wouldn't cause her to be in too much trouble.

On the other side of the hill she was moving toward, there stood a child, her purple eyes fixed on a huge fish. Her blonde hair was short, just how it was cut, but it would grow wild once again for her. She had just finished her exercises, feeling very hungry, deciding to make this fish her prey.

She licked her lips, the yellow, scaly tail behind her flicking in anticipation. She stripped and jumped into the water, punching the water and through the fish, pulling it up.

"I got it!" She grinned. "I got the fish! Now, to get the fire ready! Gramma's gonna be so excited."

She shook her short blonde hair, letting it return to its normal, wild state. She shook the rest of her body, almost like a dog would if it stood on two legs.

She got dressed and walked over to a huge tree stump, easily twenty feet wide. She set the massive fish down, taking a grip on the massive stump. With a mighty yank, she pulled the stump free, tossing it into the air to give it a mighty kick. It splintered into many pieces, almost all of them firewood sized. She grinned, holding up the peace sign.

"Yatta!" She took the large pile of wood and the fish running back to her little cabin, preparing the food. Unbeknownst to her, the rider of the motorcycle was fast approaching.

"I better get something for flavor," The child walked out of the house, running to get a few more ingredients.

However, before she could step much further from the house, a large metal object collided with her, knocking her backward.

"Oh my god, did I kill him?!" The person sitting on the strange metal contraption hopped off, running over to the child. "Little boy, are you still alive!?"

"That weird beast just hit me!" The child stood up, glaring at it. "I'll have to fight it!"

She ran over to the contraption, picking it up and slamming it onto the ground.

"What the hell is wrong with you!?" The helmeted girl grabbed a gun, shooting the child in the head. The child was knocked over, holding her head and wincing.

"Owwww, that hurt," She said. "What was that?! Why did you shoot me?!"

"You're a strange boy," The rider took off her helmet, revealing her brown hair and letting her rabbit's ears twitch from their freedom. "You don't even sound like a boy."

"You took your head off!" The child pointed, looking at her as if she'd sprouted another head.

"It's a helmet, you uneducated hick." The rider rolled her eyes. "My name is Velvet. Do you have a name?"

"Gramma called me Yang," The child, Yang stared up at the rabbit eared girl, who towered above her in height. Yang only seemed to come up to her waist, though Velvet was quite tall for her age. She did, however, pull out a strange weapon that looked almost like a scythe.

"W-Woah, let's talk about this," Velvet raised her hands, definitely rethinking having shot the blonde staring her down. "You wouldn't hurt a pretty girl like me, would you?"

"You're a girl?" Yang looked up at her, pointing her strange weapon at her. Velvet bit her bottom lip in worry that this wild child would be the death of her. When the child had finished looking her over, she put the weapon onto her back where it folded up into a rectangle shape.

"Well, girl, my gramma said that I should treat ladies with respect and men with honor. So, you can come to dinner. Gramma would like that."

"W-Well, uh, okay," Velvet slowly lowered her hands, breathing a sigh of relief. She would get to live another day.

"How come you don't have a tail?" Yang asked.

It was at this point Velvet noticed Yang's tail, her eyes widening. It was one thing to have ears or be a sort of creature, but a tail was pretty much unheard of. Velvet came to the conclusion it had to be glued on. Odd child, she thought.

Yang took her on a strange path through the woods to get to a quaint little cabin. Velvet had to admire the make of the cabin; it clearly was built by someone who knew what they were doing. Velvet looked around at the interior, gasping as she saw the object she was looking for.

Sitting on a table on top of a pillow was a strange little sphere about the size of one's palm. It was an emerald green color, like a shiny marble. Inside of the sphere was what looked like a lamp of very old design. The lamp itself was more of a blue shade, showing a bit of yellow on the framework.

"Th-That's it!" Velvet ran over to it, trying to take it, but a scythe blade was at her throat.

"No one, not even a girl gets to touch that," Yang said. "That's gramma and you can't touch her."

"W-Well, how about I show you something?" Velvet reached into her bag, pulling out a ball of the same shade, this one with a small sword of twisted metal.

"Two grammas!" Yang exclaimed, looking at the sphere as she put away her weapon onto her back. "B-But how!?"

"This orb is known as a Remnant Relic," Velvet explained. "I found it in my dad's basement and there was this ancient document that described how it would work. Apparently, you can get wishes from it."

"Woah, so Gramma can grant wishes, huh?" Yang looked at 'Gramma'.

"Yep, there's supposed to be seven, so I made this radar that can track the magic they put out." Velvet pulled a small rectangular object, which showed seven little triangles, two gathered in one place.

"I plan to take all seven and make a wish." Velvet said. "Probably for strawberries or something. But, that will be my ultimate wish. So, can I have this relic?"

"No, you can't take Gramma!" Yang took the sphere, holding it tightly to her chest.

"Uh, how about you come with me and we gather them then?" Velvet asked. "We can gather them like that and you can hold on to your gramma?"

Yang looked down, thinking about it. She looked up at Velvet, whose rabbit ears stood at attention in anticipation.

"Okay, but I keep Gramma," Yang said, placing the sphere in a small bag.

"Foolish boy," Velvet thought to herself, suppressing a small giggle. "The Remnant Relics disappear once they're used. But, you'll be useful to help me. I suppose it wouldn't hurt."

"So, how did you come across the Relic?" Velvet sat down on the stool in the kitchen.

"Gramma found it one day before she was squished," Yang sat down on the other stool, looking at the orb. "She said I could have it if I wanted it. But, she never gave it to me because she got squished."

"Well, I suppose she would want you to go on an adventure," Velvet shrugged.

"Yeah," Yang said. "I'm gonna get a bath. You can take a bath if you want one too."

"I'll pass," Velvet said. "I don't know how old you are, but I'll pass on bathing with you."

"Okay," Yang began to take off her clothes. "Well, don't hog all the water. Gramma says that's not good."

"Don't strip in the open, you little exhibitionist!" Velvet shouted, pulling Yang's shirt down over her head once again. "Didn't your gramma ever tell you not to strip in front of a lady?"

"Gramma would always strip don in front of me," Yang tilted her head. "We would bathe together and she would make sure I got behind my ears. I can help you get behind yours. She taught me how."

"No way, pervert!" Velvet shouted, grabbing her ears. "Now, get a bath already!"

"Okay" Yang tossed her clothes at Velvet, walking into the bathroom.

"Wait… that's a girl…" Velvet muttered. "Quite a boyish looking girl… oh well, whatever."

Once Yang was finished bathing, Velvet took a turn, Yang cooking dinner. Velvet could smell the food from the bathtub, licking her lips as she washed her body.

She walked out of the bathroom with a towel around her body, grabbing a set of clothes to change into. She walked back into the bathroom, changing and exiting the room to see what Yang was cooking.

The large fish was being roasted over the oven, which looked delicious. What did not look delicious, however, were the insects that were around it, also getting roasted. Velvet tried to hold back her disgust and gagging so as to not ruin her desire for some fish. Normally she stuck to a more vegetarian diet, but she wouldn't say no to a good fish.

"Tomorrow, we'll set off on our journey to find the rest of these Relics." Velvet declared as she took a sample of only the fish.

"How are we gonna go there?" Yang asked. "Can you run fast? Or, are we going to take your metal beast?"

"You ruined my 'metal beast', you simpleton." Velvet said. "But, I have another method of getting there."

"What is it?" Yang asked, shaking her blonde head to rustle her hair a bit.

"You'll see tomorrow," Velvet sighed. "I don't want you destroying this one."

"Okay," Yang stood up, turning around to grab her tail to scratch a little bit of dirt off of it. She scratched another itch and stretched. Velvet looked at the blonde child and sighed. There was little guarantee the blonde wouldn't get them in some sort of trouble. But, she was strong, which would prove handy. She did feel bad for Yang, the poor girl having lost her grandmother like that. But, she tried to turn her thoughts to that of the Relics.

What would she wish for? Would it be smart to go with her original wish and get a mountain of strawberries or would it be smart to go for a boyfriend? Or, a girlfriend? Or both? The possibilities were limitless.

The next morning came quickly after they had gone to sleep. Yang slept like a log, but Velvet took longer to fall asleep, her body not used to the firm mattress that was in use on Yang's grandmother's bed. Whoever she was, she must have had a body like a rock, Velvet muttered to herself as she tried to sleep.

Eventually, it came to her, dreams of what she could get with the relics popping into her head.

The next morning, Yang dressed in her red outfit, taking her weapon and walking out the door to do exercises. Velvet woke up at least an hour later to see Yang punching and knocking over trees.

"We're leaving now," Velvet said. "We've wasted enough time, let's go."

"But you're the one who was sleeping forever," Yang said. "I've been up to exercise for at least ten hours."

"I'm pretty sure you should work on math." Velvet said as she opened her backpack to pull out her Orb. She pushed the button on the front and the spherical container popped open, revealing a car, though it was a different model from the previous.

"You're a witch!" Yang exclaimed, pointing.

"Orbs like this are quite common in actual civilization," Velvet rolled her eyes. "Now, get in. We'll be able to cover more ground, faster this way."

"Okay, but if you're really a witch, I'll beat you up and take Gramma home."

"Whatever."

And, here we start another fic that's a crossover, this time being RWBY and Dragon Ball. I find it ironic, considering I don't care much for crossovers, but this was too tempting. I had an image of Yang and I ran with it. I loved deciding the characters. But, my favorite was Blake as Krillin (as the title pic portrays), because the image of chibi kid Yang and chibi kid Blake fighting was something that had me in giggles as I drew it.. I hope you enjoy this story.

By the way, this prologue is short because I had so much trouble writing this part... the first couple of chapters of the story were hard to parody, what with the differing circumstances and all. But, the rest will be longer, I promise.
