Summary: Naruto always had a soft spot for animals. So when he found two cats outside his door during one stormy day, he couldn't resist taking them in. As he grew to love them however, fate would cruelly snatch the only animals who made up his family. But just as fate takes, so will it give. Years later, Naruto would find himself chased by two most powerful men in the country. Just what has fate in store for this innocent blond orphan? ItaNaru and SasuNaru (eventual three-way)
Loosely inspired by the anime Angel Tales and a reimagining of an old unfinished fanfic of mine. Now set in the modern world that might have some light omegaverse elements later on.

Chapter 1: One Stormy Day
A Mini Prologue

The clouds darkened as the soft rumbling behind the overcast sky signaled the incoming of a storm. As the wind slowly picked up its pace, the people of Konoha frantically picked up theirs as well as they hurriedly made their way home.
As the flurry of people scrambled for shelters or transport before the merciless waters fell from the sky, one figure cursed under his breath; shivering lightly as he felt the creeping cold through his thin orange t-shirt.
His golden locks bounced frantically as he too quickened his pace, regretting his decision of not bringing an umbrella and dressing lightly for the day. His skipping steps now turned to a frantic run as he felt the first cold drops hit his bare forehead before small calloused hands reached up to sun-kissed bronze cheeks to wick away the wetness that fell from the sky above.
Shirt now slightly wet, the figure heaved a sigh of relief as he approached his apartment complex as his eager hand quickly dug into his jeans pocket for his key. Just as he neared his unit however, a noise caught the teen's ears.
Soft cries pierced through the howling winds and the merciless raindrops that now pelted the rooftops mercilessly. Curiously, the teen looked down to a non-descript box by the door to his room. And sure enough, his ears heard correctly.
It was the soft desperate mewls of two white shivering kittens; huddled pathetically against the unforgiving winds that sends shivers down the figure's back as his wet clothes clung to his body.
Ignoring the cold and the wetness that's now permeating through his bones, he bent down and examined the shivering white figures on the box.
"Hello little ones…" His soft husky voice was almost drowned by the sonorous roar of the sky, yet his soft sapphire eyes were warm against the cold backdrop around him. "I wonder if you two have any owners."
The kittens seemed to recognize his friendly demeanor as they stopped mewling, their soft amber eyes were now transfixed upon innocent cerulean ones.
Just then, the teen shivered just as the wind blew more of the rain, soaking his already wet clothes. Taking pity on the animals, he gathered the already wet box into his arms and carefully opened the door to his room with skillful maneuvering.
"Well, I guess you two are stuck with me for now." The bronze-skinned teen grinned. "I'm Naruto, by the way."
The kittens seemed to have quieted down as they realized the warmth and safety of Naruto's room. Naruto on the other hand quickly removed the dripping wet clothes from his body and dropped them unceremoniously into the floor. Turning to the kittens, he clapped his hands together as an idea clicked in his mind.
"You two are cold. So you definitely deserve a warm bath. Oh oh! I know. Let's all warm up together in the bath tub." Naruto snickered at his idea, giddy at the prospect of a warm bath to finally stave off the cold. Running to his bathroom, he turned on the warm water and reached out to scoop the shivering kittens in his arm surprised at their oddly calm demeanor as he slowly laid down the cats to the tub with his body.
As the warm water hit his cold and tired skin, a loud relieved sigh escaped his lips as he turned to the two kittens who snuggled against his warm wet chest. And in an instant, Naruto was struck at the sight.
"You two are oddly calm for kittens, aren't you?"
Naruto sunk deeper into the tub careful not to fully submerge the young kits in his hold.
As his mind wander, lost in the water's warm welcoming embrace, little did he know how his life would change from this day forward.
He continued to enjoy the warmth as the cold slowly leaves his body, not aware of the slight gleam from two pair of ambers trained on his blissful face.

A/N: This will be a light one just because I can't seem to get into writing lately. My most sincerest apology for not being active these past few weeks. Or has it been months already? Ugh. But this idea is just begging to be written so thank goodness. Hopefully, I'll finally be able to start working on my other fics as well. At any rate, I hope you enjoy this short one.
