The sun slowly began to rise for a new day. Birds were chirping, flowers were blooming, and the spring breeze was just right. Everything seemed like just another day in the cheery world of Popstar.
Master Hand teleported on the planet and looked around the place.
"Where's the food, where's the food!? I promised the viewers an all you can eat buffie consisting of meals from every universe that's participating and yet I'm struggling to find any in the universe that has such a large focus on their meals?! This is an outrage!" The hand slammed itself into the ground, leaving cracks in it as he continued looking.
After realising that his current methods would take too long he sighs "Well I guess desperate times call for even more desperate measures I suppose…" The hand began twirling his finger around. All of Popstar's food began to fly around and swirl into a small vortex he created, before disappearing along with the hand.
The morning sun began to shine in the eyes of a particular Waddle Dee. But this was no ordinary Waddle Dee… no, he was far from that… He was THE Waddle Dee. The fierce Waddle Dee that has constantly been the king's right hand man, taken out the most deadly foes, and a go to trooper and friend for the one and only Kirby. He was simply lacking his Bandana that separated his look from the rest of his kind.
Waddle Dee got up and performed his every morning routine that consisted of waking up at 6 in the morning, getting a hold of his spear and bandana, running 64 laps around the castle, lifting some weights, and quickly cooking up and serving the first 5 pairs of breakfast pies for the king.
Waddle Dee got his items and felt like mixing up his schedule today. If he turns the oven on early today and comes back once the pies are done he might be able to add 5 more breakfast pies for the king! The idea excited the waddle dee as he went to the fridge to find the pies- gone?
Waddle Dee let's out a shriek at the sight. How could any of the other dee's not notice this! He thought to himself. Waddle Dee then sounded the emergency alarm that was added just a few weeks ago. The king's army lined up for their commanding chef as Bandana Waddle Dee got to the point.
"Alright tropes! Which one of you has done it?" He asked his fellow soldiers.
There was a moment of silence. "Did what?" One of the crowd members asked while pilitly raising his hand.
Bandana Dee noticed and threw a spear at him, assuming he was admitting his guilt for betraying the king. Only to quickly realise after that he was simply asking a question. "Hehe, sorry."
Bandana Dee then cleared his throat to give a status report. "Alright Dees, do you know why I sounded the alarm?"
"B-because the king is unhappy?"
"Exactly!"
Another waddle dee raised their hand "Can I ask a question?"
"Of course you can! Just remember that we are on a limited time and budget."
"Why was there a red light going off?"
Bandana Dee sighed and pointed his spear towards the chart.

"Ooooooh. Now I get it!"
"Any other questions?"
There was a moment of silence.
"...Good! Now, let's get to the point. The royal fridge has ran out of food."
All of the Dees started to panic as this was announced. Tables were flipped, windows were broken, and all the ruckus even caused the royal advisor/engineer to come out of his work bench. The royal advisor's name is Escargoon and he used to spend his days giving advice to King Dedede on how to keep the kingdom stable. Now he simply keeps an eye on their budget, makes inventions that the king orders, and waits for the chance to enter retirement.
"Hey! What's with all the rocus out here?"
"IT WAS YOU!" Bandana Dee went over and took a hold of Escargoon and slammed him against the wall.
"I-I-I don't even know what's happening yet!" Escargoon cried out
"バンダナディー:ワイルドディードライバー"
Translation: Bandana Dee: Wild Dee Driver
Bandana Dee proceeded to launch himself through the roof of Castle Dedede and into the clouds, making a little whole in one of them and then proceeded to pile drive Escargoon into the other side of the Castle. The castle was now leaning on it's side frowning while Escargoon was left with a dozen broken bones.
"WHERE IS THE FOOOOOOOD!"
"I daont knwowah dwhere di is…"
"Dang it! We were so close! Looks like we need to start a full investigation!"
"Where do we start sir!?"
"I want all of you to look across the entirety of Dreamland for any possible culprits! I'll look for Kirby so he can do the rest!" Bandana Dee ran off in a rush for the hero of Dreamland.
Master Hand's next move was to finally gain a much needed edition to the tournament. What kind of 'ultimate show' would this be if he didn't even bother to get one of the multiverses greatest phenomenon that he's ever seen. He entered through dimensional barriers and passed on into the magical world of Pokémon.
The first area of interest for the Hand was the Kanto region. It may have been lacking in Pokémon variety compared to other larger regions but it gave the hand a strange nostalgic feeling. The hand couldn't pinpoint what was giving him this weird feeling, but the region was popular and grand enough to be the first part of this world's representation in this tournament. The hand didn't even know where to start! There were a total of 151 different breeds of Pokémon in the region! Thank goodness he already came to the decision on who was going to be the fighter in it, otherwise he would be stuck in here for quite a long time.
But how was he going to perform his actions? He can't just start catching all the Pokémon in broad daylight! The hand gave it some thought before deciding that he would have to wait until it was night before he starts catching Pokémon. But right now he had a match to set up. Wouldn't want to keep the audience waiting now, would he…
It had been hours since Peppy was last in contact with Fox. The Star Fox crew have waited ever since for Fox to come back. Slippy and Peppy were concerned while Falco was unnerved after waiting for such a long time.
"Dang it, what's taking him so long?"
"Maybe whatever came out of that portal got him?"
"I doubt that Slippy… But whatever happened must have been bad…"
"THEN WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR! Let's go d##m it!"
All three of them were caught off guard as Falco lashed out. But what was more surprising was the sudden beep that came out of his mouth.
"Falco? What was that?"
"I...I don't know…" Falco paused for a moment, only to put himself back together "Well, whatever. Fox needs us so let's move!"
"I have a bad feeling about this…"
"Now wait just a minute! I'm not entirely sure that our arwings will be enough. I want you guys to stay here for the time being. I'll bring in the Great Fox and call in some more back up. If all else fails then we'll escape using the arwings."
Falco grumbled at Peppys response knowing that he'll have to wait a little longer before he can get his piece in on the action. Slippy made sure the engines were prepped and ready for the mission and they set off for Fox's whereabouts.
Kirby was resting on a nice sunny day, dreaming of cake, naturally. It was a nice and relaxing dream for the little star warrior as slept peacefully like a lamb.
"KIRBY! WAKE UP!"
Kirby shot out of bed when he heard the loud knocking at his door. And he was in the middle of such a nice dream too…. But he stayed positive as he got up and opened the door to see one of his best friends. The two quickly did their secret handshakes as Bandana Dee quickly got Kirby up to speed.
"It's just so awful Kirby… All of Dreamland's food is just gone now…"
Kirby puts on his serious face and calls the warp star down. He immediately took aim at Castle Dedede with a determined face. Bandana Dee, however, was having none of that, as he took Kirby off of the warp star "Kirby, Castle Dedede has no food too…"
Kirby tilted his head, looking confused by Bandana Dee's statement.
"That means King Dedede didn't steal the food. I repeat, King Dedede. Did not. Steal. Anything. Understood?"
Kirby nodded his head along in shame. He really needed to stop blaming Dedede whenever something bad happens, especially when he's been trying to be a good guy. Bandana Dee gave Kirby a pat on the back as he ran off to find the thief who stole all of Dreamlands food.
It was lunch time on Yoshi's Island. The three fighters were waiting on the island for the next match when there was a sudden announcement.
"Hello my beloved fighters!" Master Hand's voice announced. The three warriors got up and turned towards the source of the voice, only to find nothing but a screen.
"I'm afraid I have some unfortunate news…. The next match will have to be late at night. I've recently had to deal with some… difficulties getting my hand on the next few fighters. But on a brighter note, I'm here to announce that the Yoshi that survived the last round has been promoted to fighter status! His first real match will be this next one tonight! Your meals have been prepped and are 5 miles north of this screen. Have a fantastic day and make this a night to remember!" Master Hand gave a farewell sign as the video transmission ended.
"Well it looks like you're stuck with us little guy." Link gave head pats to Yoshi as Samus watched from a distance. Donkey Kong came in with a group hug to congratulate Yoshi for joining the 'team' as it were.
Link noticed Samus watching from the distance and asked "Hey, wanna join the group hug?"
"Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass." DK unfolded himself from the group hug after the remark, looking a little disappointed at the bounty hunters' rejection. The four fighters then marched on to get their hands on whatever meal was awaiting them.
Night began to fall on the Kanto region as Master Hand waited. He has given the fighters what they needed as he continued to watch the moon rise. The timing was right, or so the hand thought as he flew over the region.
"Well… it's time for me to start working." The hand began summoning Pokéballs and took aim. He landed his mark on many different kinds of Pokémon, from Charizards and Blastoise, to Clefairy and Onix. Master Hand even thought for a moment that he spotted a Mew! He threw out a master ball to get his hands on it, not noticing that once he did it got suspended in mid air and crushed.
The hand kept firing out Pokéballs and catching numbers of Pokémon that only some trainers could ever DREAM of ever catching. Eventually he laid his eyes on a panicked Pikachu, which was the Pokémon that he had selected for the tournament's fighter. He summoned another Pokéball and went over to catch it….
...Only for the ball to be crushed mid air….
"Hm?" The hand looked around for the source, only to have a hole blasted through him. The hand descended afterwards and quickly began floating again, twitching a bit in pain. He snapped his fingers and a golden liquid spread across the whole, repairing the damage in the process. He turns around to see a very particular Pokémon.
"You don't appear to be a typical trainer…. Yet you still have the nerve to force your will on these Pokémon."
"Oh please, you can quit crying about this Mewtwo…. Besides! They're about to serve a greater purpose in my tournament. So if you're here to discuss your inclusion, I'm afraid you'll have to wait until the next one…." The hand manifested another Pokéball and prepared to throw it, only to be pulled back by Mewtwo's psychic power.
"You misunderstood my intention… you foul beast."
The hand sighed as he did a quick telephone gesture. "Hello? This is Master Hand. I'm afraid that I'll need you to be the host for tonight's battle…"
It was an empty world. It was devoid of life and had no sources of natural geography or time. This was the nature of an area known infamously as Subspace.
"Hello? This is Master Hand. I'm afraid that I'll need you to be the host for tonight's battle."
In the middle of Subspace lies a tower. This tower was the bases of Master Hands operations, the area where his allies are. The hand transmission was caught on by a lone man. He wore a green robe, making his appearance unrecognizable to any possible foes. He led an army of machines capable of defending this lonesome space that he calls his home. This man was simply deemed The Ancient Minister by Master Hand. The Ancient Minister made a robotic noise as he tilted his head over to the video transmission.
"I am currently dealing with a dissatisfied individual that has responded with aggression and dealing with him may take up some time. I am entrusting you to keep the audience occupied for tonight since I'm not quite sure if I'm going to make it on time. I have the utmost faith in you for this task. Now just remember these three things. One, keep the fighters motivated to battle, use blackmail if needed. Two, keep the audience entertained at all times, do not in any sense bore them. And three, answer all questions given to you, whether it be small or large it's best to keep the audience aware to prevent fear. Good luck my comrade."
The transmission ends as The Ancient Minister prepares to follow out on Master Hands' orders.
Master Hand dances around Mewtwo's attacks with ease. Sometimes he would stop and let him land a hit only to rub it off and swipe back at Mewtwo. Of course Mewtwo would dodge his attack and go in with another attack of his own but Master Hand was fully knowledgeable of what this Psychic type had up his sleeves.
"You know, I'm impressed with how far you've made it!"
"Do not mock me, hand… If you're as all knowing as you claim you are then you're already aware that I am the strongest Pokémon this world has ever known!" Mewtwo says as he fires another Shadow hand flicks the shadow ball back at Mewtwo. "Oh, so we're not counting Arceus? Rayquaza? Giratina? Please, you're powerful, but I wouldn't consider you numero uno in this universe." Master Hand makes a finger gun and fires bullets and Mewtwo. He reflects the first one and dodges the other two, only for Master Hand to fire a fourth one and land a direct hit. The hand laughs as he floats down to the Psychic type Pokémon as he twitches in pain.
"Well I can at least say that you have some solid ground for a moveset in my tournament. With you and your arsenal of moves like-"
"Power and guard swap perhaps?" Mewtwo said with a sadistic grin as the both of them gave off an orange and blue glow. The hand started to descend as Mewtwo rose with new strength.
"Any last words before I rip you apart, adom by adom?"
"Aw crud.""Thought so." Mewtwo said as he threw the hand away psychically. Master Hand proceeds to fire a beam as Mewtwo unleashes a flamethrower followed by a solar beam. Master Hand quickly avoids the two attacks and flies up to make distance, only for Mewtwo to teleport in his path and pursue the hand downwards with punches, kicks, and psychic abilities.
Master Hand begins to get closer and closer to ground level as Mewtwo uses Ancient Power. The hand avoids most of the rocks but the few that did hit him pierced through him. As the hand descended closer to the ground he made a finger gun gesture again and fired a bullet which Mewtwo bulldozed right through. Mewtwo then uses a stone edge and impales the hand. Master Hand makes a slow descent upwards and Mewtwo body slams him deep into the ground and uses Rock Slide followed by Rock Tomb.
The hand teleports out of the area as Mewtwo fires a fully charged Shadow Ball at him. The hand was blown back as Mewtwo continued to pursue him with Ice Beam and Thunder Wave. The hand avoids the dangerous paralyzation moves as he notices Mewtwo charging another Shadow Ball as he aims the hand with Laser Focus. The hand stopped for a moment as Mewtwo fired and deflected the Shadow Ball back at him. The deflected orb grew in size and power as it was sent into the sky, making a bright purple shine as it left the atmosphere.
"OHOHOHOHO! I guess they never taught you the rule of three in that simulation-" The hands monolog was caught off when he was suddenly impaled and thrown down by a comically large spoon. The hand looks up to see Mewtwo perfectly fine as he proceeds to stab an additional pair of large spoons that stab the hand into the ground.
"You assume that my earlier statement was out of huburs, yet here you are, pinned back to the earth by spoons."
"Swapping our stats doesn't help with your argument, Pokémon. So would you do me a favor and kindly give back my strength so I won't have to embarrass us any further?""And give up all of this power that I could use to put an end to the humans plans for Pokémon? Oh please, I can't decline a chance like this." Mewtwo says as he charges up a hyper beam.
Master Hand sighs as he suddenly flies again, impaled spoon and all. He rips the spoons out and begins spinning them like propeller blades. They spin with great speed and force as he proceeds to throw them at Mewtwo. Mewtwo blocks the two blades with Psychic as Master Hand curls into a fist and charges at the Pokémon. Mewtwo refocuses as he uses Psychic to try and stop the hand. The hand slows down for a moment before adding more rocket power into himself and continues to charge in until Mewtwo teleports heigh into the air. Mewtwo dodges Master Hands assault with a shaky breath. Master Hand then proceeds to summon a heavy iron ball that was about as large as his palm and throws it like a baseball. Mewtwo dodges this attack with ease as the hand fired 3 bullets slowly, which Mewtwo stopped with a barrier.
"All of your efforts are futile with that amount of strength. Give up."
"Really? That's your big one liner before you get absolutely wrecked?" The hand answers back as he points behind him. The iron ball was flung back via the third spoon and crashed into Mewtwo with great force. Master Hand proceeds to follow up by manifesting a baseball bat and swinging at the iron ball. There was a loud crack in the air as Mewtwo was sent flying further. Master Hand then took the chance to add in a volleyball strike just to make sure he finishes it. The impact left a creator as the hand floated down to confront the legendary Pokémon, who was left on the ground almost in his statue form.
"Now, now… I'll give you a chance to be nice. Use your swaps again and I won't tell anyone about this encounter, maybe. Is that a deal?" Master Hand remarked confidently as he was in point blank firing range. Mewtwo's eyes gave a quick purple glow as the hand was suddenly knocked back, being left with several new holes as Mewtwo teleported away.
"OH COME ON! Return to me so you can face your defeat like an honorable warrior!" The hand kneeled down in pain as he looked around, waiting for any attacks. After a few minutes the hand deduced that he likely ran away with a large chunk of extra power that a Pokémon like him shouldn't have and no clue to his whereabouts, not to mention he was left in a weakened state.
The hand let out a sigh. "Well… looks like I won't have the energy for the next match…"
It was midnight as Kirby looked around Whispy Woods for any sign of food. He was tired and exhausted from the lack of sleep, and food… he really wanted some food.
"Poyo!" Kirby cried out in vain as he looked for the chance of ANYONE having something for him to snack down. But it was no use. Kirby layed on the ground dramatically as he began to close his eyes.
Until a sudden opening of a portal, that is.
"Argh! Why is everything going so wrong. First there was Galeem, then the fighters, and now this! When will these worlds just give me a break!"
Kirby went over to the sound of the voice, only to find a giant glove that was busted up and ruined.
"Poyo!"
"Oh, hello there. What a day, am I right?"
"Poyo…" Kirby said in agreement.
"I mean, it's been so hard for me in recent times. Tis whole tournament thing is leaving me drained…"
"Poyo?"
"Oh, you haven't heard? Well, it's this big thing I've been wanting to do for such a long time. Get the greatest and strongest warriors around for one big tournament for fun, maybe reinvent some universes, do some crazy things, you get me?"
"P-poyo?"
"Ah forget, you'll know all about it later. Or you won't, who knows?"
Kirby stared at the giant hand in confusion.
"Well at least I almost got all my planned fighters. Have you ever heard of Kirby?"
"Hi!" Kirby waved to the hand kindly.
"Yes yes, I see you. Well, I was planning on taking him and bringing my viewers a surprise by suddenly showing off the last few fighters, but I'm not sure if I have the energy for it anymore…"
"Poyo." Kirby rubs the backside of the hand as he sighs like an angsty drama teen.
"Well… I suppose I COULD try to nab him with this…" Master Hand pulls out a maximum tomato, one of Kirby's favorite foods.
"POYO!" Kirby immediately begins slapping at the Hand as he tries to climb up and gets it. Master Hand moves around a bit before slowly putting two and two together.
"Ah. I see…" Master Hand then proceeds to throw Kirby into a portal and closes it.
"Well, that was easier than I thought! Welp, time to go back and get some rest." The hand teleports to subspace.
The Ancient Minister continued to survey the base as he waited for further instruction. He hears a sudden sound coming from another room and switches the feed. He saw a pink blob with shoes that were too big for him and a bunch of Pokéballs. But before he could question how the Pink blob could move in those shoes, if they were battle practical, or if they were an accessory or biological, he got a message from Master Hand.
"Hello Ancient Minister! I'm leaving this message to tell you what I had planned for the match. The match was scheduled to be a 2 versus 2 with a team of Link and Yoshi against Samus and newcomer, Fox McCloud. This '2v2' will function like a game of teneis, where the winner will be decided by knocking a spherical object/ball of your choice (Basketball, Football, etc, etc.) and the only additional item will be Pokéballs. And I want you to keep in Pikachu if he shows up. I already have him listed as a fighter and it will make for a lovely surprise when one of these Pokémon sticks around. Happy Hosting! - Master Hand.
The Ancient Minister looked back at the cage and reacemened the Pink Blob. He detected that 80% of it was spherical.
He knew exactly what to do.
