Magnus sits on the edge of the bench, across from the courthouse, and anxiously waits for Alec.

Yesterday, he was tempted to drop in and visit his boyfriend but didn't. He promised that he would leave Alec to his work and he was going to honor their 'deal'.

Instead he invited Catarina over for brunch. As they ate french toast, he told his long time friend everything. From his first glimpse of Max in the Pandemonium to his conversation with Mikey outside Alec's apartment building. Catarina wanted to know every last detail, not only about Alec but about their 'sons'.

He told her that he was nervous about what might happen on Monday and she reassured him that his sons would have warned him if there was any real danger to either him or Alec.

Now, Magnus just wants to see his boyfriend. He runs his thumb across his fingers as he watches the front of the building.

After what seems like hours, Alec finally walks out and comes down the steps, Magnus jumps off the bench and goes over to him.

Alec glances in his direction and gives him a smile, "Hey Magnus."

"Hi Alec." Magnus walks beside him, "So how was your day?"

Alec shrugs, "The usual."

Magnus nods. He notices that Alec isn't holding his briefcase and is about to ask if Alec forgot it, when they get to the curb and a car pulls in front of them.

A man gets out the front passenger side and holds the back door open, "Get in."

Alec raises an eyebrow, "Hello to you, Sherman and if I don't?"

Sherman pulls back his jacket, showing a gun, "It's not up for debate."

"Fine." Alec glances at Magnus, but Sherman pushes Alec into the car. Alec glares at the driver, "Walter."

Walter glances in the rearview mirror, "Alec."

Sherman glares at Magnus, "You, get in as well."

Magnus nods, "Okay." He sits next to Alec. Sherman slams the door, then gets in the front. They drive away.

Magnus runs his thumb across his fingers. He wonders where Mikey is, then realizes that Mikey is probably at the subway station waiting for Alec. He wonders how long Mikey will wait until he realizes that Alec isn't showing up. Magnus wonders if he should use magic to stop the car. But he's scared of what Alec's reaction will be to that. Magnus looks out the window and tries to think what he should do.

Magnus is taken out of his thoughts when he realizes that Alec is holding his hand. He looks at his boyfriend.

Alec smiles, "It's okay, Magnus."

"But..."

Alec squeezes his hand, "It's okay. Relax."

Magnus nods, "Okay." Alec continues to smile as he looks out the window, his hand still holding Magnus'.

Magnus leans back against the seat and takes a deep breath. If Alec can handle this situation, then so can he. Out the corner of his eye, Magnus glances at his boyfriend. There seems to be something different about him. Maybe this is how Alec is in court. There's an alertness about him that Magnus doesn't remember from Saturday. Almost as if he were in battle mode.

Magnus relaxes as he runs his thumb over Alec's knuckles. Alec glances at their hands then smiles at Magnus, "Feeling better?"

Magnus nods, "Yes."

"Good."

The car pulls up to a warehouse. Alec snorts. Magnus glances at him. Walter and Sherman get out then open the back doors.

Walter sneers, "Let's go."

Alec and Magnus got out their respective doors. Sherman pushes Magnus, "Move it."

Alec turns towards them. His eyes are cold, his voice colder, "Don't touch him."

Sherman shows his gun, "I'll do what I want to do."

Alec gives him a cold smile, "You think so."

Magnus walks over to him, "It's okay, Alec." Magnus likes his boyfriend's protectiveness but doesn't want Alec to get shot. Alec nods as they silently follow Walter into the warehouse.

Walter leads them into a room. Four men are sitting on folding chairs by the back wall. A man in a suit is standing in the center of the room, facing the door. He smiles as they walk in.

Alec sneers, "Valentine."

Magnus recognizes that name from his research on Alec. Valentine and Alec's father have a law firm. But why would he want a meeting with Alec in a warehouse? And why send men with guns? Magnus wonders if the other men are also armed.

Sherman pushes Magnus away from Alec, "You stand over here."

Alec glares at him, "What did I tell you?"

He laughs at Alec, "And what did I tell YOU?"

Magnus looks from Alec to the gunman, "I'll stand here, not a problem."

Alec nods then glares at Valentine, "What do you want?"

Valentine ignores him. He asks Sherman, "So this is the boyfriend?"

Sherman sneers, "Yeah boss. They went to the museum. Was it a date or a class trip?"

Magnus sniffs, "You were following us?"

Sherman smirks as Valentine nods, "I needed something on Alec." He smiles coldly, "And YOU are that something." He nods at Sherman, then looks at Alec, "Let's do a little negotiation."

Alec folds his arms across his chest, "I'm not negotiating with you."

"Maybe you will change your mind, once you hear the terms. Drop all charges against Linklater or your boyfriend dies."

Magnus' eyes widen as Sherman takes out his gun and aims it at Magnus. Alec's eyes narrow.

Magnus' jaw drops as a seraph blade appears in Alec's hand. A minute later, the blade cuts through Sherman's wrist. The gun and his hand fall to the ground. Sherman screams as he drops to his knees, grabbing his cauterized wrist with his other hand.

The four men stand up.

Involuntarily, Magnus takes a step back. It's been a long time since he has been this close to a ShadowHunter. Even longer since he's been near an armed one. Once Alec activated the seraph blade, the glamour hiding his runes from Magnus, flickered away. Two runes appear on Alec's neck. One Magnus recognizes as the deflect/block rune but the other he has no idea what it is.

Alec holds the blade up and glares at Valentine, "As I said, I won't negotiate with you."

Valentine snaps his fingers. Walter and the four men surround Alec, their guns drawn. Valentine smirks, "Obviously you are not the Alec Lightwood I was expecting, but I still hold all the cards, now will you negotiate?"

Magnus hears the crackle of power before he feels it fill the room. Mikey appears on the other side of the room. He coldly stares at Valentine as he raises a hand.

Alec laughs, "You think you have all the cards, but I have an ace or two, and I don't make deals with Valentine Morgenstern."

"Then die." Valentine nods at Walter.

Magnus glances from Alec to Mikey, unsure what he should do as the gunmen aim at Alec.

Mikey flicks his hand as the gunmen pull their triggers.

Magnus screams, "No."

Magnus' jaw drops as the five gunmen are aflame for a second or two before being reduced to piles of ash. The bullets disappear. Alec is unharmed.

Valentine pulls out a gun and points it at Magnus. Before he can pull the trigger, Alec's seraph blade cuts through his neck. Valentine's headless body drops to the ground as his head lands at Magnus' feet.

Mikey giggles as he walks over to Alec. He kisses the ShadowHunter's cheek, "That was awesome, Not Daddy."

Alec1 laughs, "Thank you, Mikey."

Magnus glances at Valentine's head then his headless body. He looks at Mikey and Alec1, "Not Daddy?"

Mikey smiles, "This is Max's Daddy."

"I should have realized that you weren't my Alec when you kept your distance outside the courthouse."

Alec1 smiles, "Yes, I have a jealous husband and there were eyes watching us who would love to get me in trouble."

Mikey giggles, "I wouldn't have told Not Poppa."

"How do you know I was talking about you, Mikey?"

"Silly Not Daddy."

Magnus smiles, "Yes I wouldn't want to give your husband any reason to be jealous."

Alec1 nods, "Thanks."

"So, where's my Alec?"

Mikey smiles, "With Max, of course."

AU!Alec walks into his office. There's a man leaning against his desk. Before AU!Alec can ask who he is, AU!Alec hears his own voice say, "You got this, blueberry?" He turns around and his jaw drops as he stares at himself.

Blueberry giggles, "Yes, Daddy."

AU!Alec continues to stare as his double winks at him then leaves the office.

Blueberry walks over and holds AU!Alec's wrist gently as he flicks his other hand. AU!Alec's eyes widen as a space appears. Blueberry smiles at him, "Let's get out of here, then I'll answer all your questions." He gently pulls AU!Alec into the space.

They arrive in an apartment that AU!Alec has never been in before. He pulls away from Blueberry and holds his briefcase against his chest with both hands as he looks around. He stares at Blueberry, "How the hell did we get here? Where are we? Who are you? And who the hell was that man?"

Blueberry smiles, "It's called a portal."

"Portal?"

"Yes, I'm a warlock and that's a way of getting from place to place."

"Warlock?"

Blueberry nods, "Yes. To paraphrase Daddy I'm very good with magic." He giggles as he gestures with both hands, "This is Magnus' loft..."

AU!Alec interrupts, "Magnus? My Magnus?"

Blueberry smiles, "Yes Alec, your Magnus. I'm Max..."

AU!Alec interrupts again, "Max? You're Max? Mikey's Max?"

Max giggles, "I was Daddy and Poppa's Max before Mikey was even born. But yes Mikey's Max."

"That man, you called him 'Daddy'. I'm, I mean, he's your father?"

"Yes, that man is Alec Lightwood, my Daddy."

AU!Alec shakes his head, "How is that possible? I don't understand." Max gently takes his arm and leads him to the sofa. AU!Alec sits down then places his briefcase on the coffee table. Max goes to the kitchen, gets a mug out the cabinet and fills it with coffee. He returns to the living room.

Max hands the mug to AU!Alec. He takes it with a smile, "Thanks."

"You're welcome. When Daddy gets stressed, coffee is all he needs." Max giggles, "And Poppa's kisses." Max moves the briefcase to the side and sits on the coffee table.

Alec finishes the coffee and puts the empty mug next to the briefcase, "Okay, so what's going on?"

"You and Magnus are forced into a car and taken to see Valentine."

"Father's partner? But why?"

"He wanted you to drop the charges against one of his clients."

AU!Alec shakes his head, "Not going to happen."

Max nods, "He knew you wouldn't do it unless he had a bargaining chip."

AU!Alec coldly laughs, "Then he's in trouble. There is nothing he can say that will make me do that."

"Magnus."

AU!Alec pales, "He hurt Magnus?"

"He told you either drop the charges or Magnus dies."

AU!Alec closes his eyes and swallows, "Then I'm the one in trouble."

Max sadly nods, "Yes, you told him, that all the charges would be dropped as long as he promised to not harm Magnus."

AU!Alec has tears in his eyes as he opens them, "Then Valentine let us go?"

"No." Max's eyes go cold, "Sherman shot you before Magnus could protect you."

AU!Alec's eyes widen as tears run down his face, "I died?" Max nods as he reaches for Alec's hands and holds them. Alec swallows, "Did he shoot Magnus?"

"No, Magnus killed everyone in the room in a matter of minutes. When he was done, he ran to your side, but it was too late."

"Magnus killed? But he's so gentle."

Max nods, "But he's also a powerful warlock that loves you."

Max lets AU!Alec's hands go, so that he can wipe his eyes, "Wait, Magnus is a warlock?"

"Yes. Mikey is also a warlock."

"So Raj really did 'fly' out the subway car?"

Max giggles, "Yep."

AU!Alec shakes his head, "This is too much." Max waves a hand at the mug and it fills with coffee. He hands it to AU!Alec, who takes it with a grateful smile, "Thanks." He holds the mug with both hands as he drinks.

"Poppa would have recognized a threat right away and been on guard, but your Magnus is no longer so quick with his magic. And he was worried how you would react if he ever used magic around you. When you were threatened, he wasn't prepared to even put up a barrier around you to keep you safe."

AU!Alec finishes his coffee, "But I'm here." His eyes widen, "Your father is taking my place."

Max nods, "Oh yes, Daddy's a badass ShadowHunter."

"What's that?"

Max giggles, "Basically they fight demons."

"Demons are real?"

"Yes, in some of the worlds they are."

AU!Alec puts the mug back on the coffee table slowly, "Worlds with a 's'?"

"Yes, I lost track how many worlds I've seen but in every one of them Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane are madly in love." Max smiles brightly.

AU!Alec raises an eyebrow, "Every one?"

"Yes, sir."

AU!Alec sits back and smiles, "And they have children in all of these worlds?"

Max grins, "Not 'all', but most of them."

"I like children."

Max's eyes sparkle as he giggles, "All the Alecs do. And we all love our Daddy."

"That's why Mikey was cagey when I asked him questions about himself."

"Yes, if he had told you the truth at the time, would you have believed him?"

AU!Alec laughs, "Warlocks, Shadowhunters, different worlds? Probably not."

Max nods. He smiles as a portal opens by the kitchen table. AU!Magnus, Alec1 and Mikey step into the loft.

AU!Alec stands and runs towards his boyfriend. AU!Magnus kisses him then they hold each other. Max stands up.

Alec1 smiles, "Do I smell coffee?"

Mikey giggles, "I'll get you some, Not Daddy." He walks into the kitchen.

Max folds his arms as he raises an eyebrow, "Really Mikey?"

Alec1 laughs, "Blueberry, behave."

Max sniffs, "Tell him to behave. Daddy stealing Mikey since he was little."

Mikey brings Alec1 a mug, "Here, Not Daddy." He grins at his 'brother'. Max rolls his eyes.

Alec1 takes the mug "Enough, you two." He takes a sip of coffee and smiles.

AU!Alec looks from Max to Mikey, then at his double, "So what happened?"

Mikey sniffs, "Sherman thought he was all big and bad with his firearm. But Not Daddy was like whatever, let's just do this."

Max giggles, "Daddy wanted to get to the ass kicking part."

Mikey's eyes sparkle as he nods, "It was awesome. Valentine was all, You are going to do what I want or else Magnus is going to get shot. And Not Daddy was like, I don't think so. Then Valentine tells Sherman to shoot Magnus. And Not Daddy goes swish," Mikey holds his hand out as if he were holding a blade and brings it down, "can't shoot anybody if you don't have a hand." Mikey giggles.

Alec1 chuckles as he walks into the kitchen and refills his mug.

Max giggles, "I bet Valentine was surprised to see that happen."

Mikey nods, "He was, but he still thought he was going to win. He got his men to surround Not Daddy and Other Magnus."

Max sniffs, "Big mistake on his part."

AU!Magnus interrupts, "Wait, I just realized something. Mikey, you were with us outside the courthouse?"

Mikey nods as he gestures towards AU!Alec, "Originally, Other Daddy refused to get into the car. Sherman punched him in the stomach and pushed him in. Then shoved you in."

AU!Alec's eyes widen as his boyfriend holds his hand tight.

AU!Magnus glances at Alec1, who is looking at a painting as he drinks his coffee, then says, "That didn't happen."

Mikey nods, "Exactly. But I was there just in case there was trouble." Max giggles. Mikey smiles at his brother then continues, "So after I took care of his men, Valentine still thought he was going to win. He pointed a firearm at Other Poppa. But Not Daddy took care of that as well." Mikey giggles as he holds his pretend blade and swings, "Can't kill somebody when you have no head."

Max giggles, "Daddy two, Valentine a big fat zero."

AU!Alec looks from AU!Magnus to Mikey, "So Valentine is dead?"

Mikey nods, "Not only is he dead, but they'll never find his body. Or any of the bodies."

"But that'll lead to questions."

Max smiles, "I already laid the groundwork to deal with that. Now it's just a matter of setting it in motion."

AU!Alec looks from Mikey to Max, "Do I want to know the details?"

Max grins, "Not now, better for you to see it in real time."

AU!Magnus kisses his boyfriend, "You're off duty."

AU!Alec nods, "Okay."

There's a knock on the door.

AU!Magnus feels Mikey's magic fill the room as the younger warlock eyes the door. Alec1 quickly walks into the kitchen and puts the mug in the sink. He walks back into the living room. Max walks away from the sofa and faces the door.

There's a second knock on the door.

AU!Magnus takes a deep breath. As he walks away from his boyfriend, he's relieved to see Mikey step closer to AU!Alec.

AU!Magnus walks to the door then opens it.

AU!Catarina smiles, "So, how did it go?" As he stares at her, she sees Alec1 over his shoulder, "Oh my god, Magnus. He really is a ShadowHunter." She walks around AU!Magnus and holds out her hand, "I'm .."

Alec1 smiles as he takes her hand in both of his, "Catarina. Magnus' best friend in this world and all the worlds."

She laughs, "I like the sound of that."

Alec1 leads her over to Max and Mikey, "May I introduce my son Max and my son from another world, Mikey."

Max hugs her, then she hugs Mikey.

AU!Magnus walks over, "Catarina, this is my Alec."

She hugs AU!Alec, "It's a pleasure to meet you." She smiles at AU!Magnus, "So?"

"Catarina get comfy, it's been an eventful afternoon."

Laughing she walks over to the sofa, "I can't wait to hear all the details."

A/N1: I had this chapter done up to AU!Alec and Max arriving in the loft for months. And I'm happy to say I finally got it finished. \o/

A/N2: Nine year old Max dealt with his world's Sherman and Walter in They are Completely Different.

Sorry for the long delay. My Mom's health got worse and she passed away last month. I'm finally feeling like I can start enjoying things again.

I do have a few other fanfics that I started. Hopefully I can finish and post them by the end of the year.

One or two more chapters and this will be a done deal.
