The wheels of the van in which he had been traveling for quite a long time for a certain section of their road, bounced with a characteristic guiet bang when they hit a pebble. With the occurrence of such moments, his body also slightly jumped, thus distracting him from his rhythm at this one certain moment when he hit particular combinations of buttons on his Gameboy. It didn't relly bother him however, because he was able to quickly understand again at what point in his game he found himself and return to it without any major problems. However, when a fairly recognizable inscription appeared on the screen, proclaiming already known words that would bring joy to many players, especially after overcoming a difficult level, he simply put the console down.

Sighing, only to be able to look ahead at the congestion in which they just happened to find themselves, he made a sound of boredom and frustration, just so later on he could lean against the window.

"It's not that bad, we should be there soon!" Seeing his rather poor condition, his partner with which he had to go to the place of their journey, trying to somehow cheer him, he said these words, after which he smiled slightly. His smile however, relatively quickly disappeared from his face, as soon as he realized that the previously focused on the game teen didn't even spare him a single glance, and instead only opened the window in his part of the van, looking at the nearby cars next to them.

Revonnahgander, which was sitting practically all this time behind the steering wheel, only slightly wrinkled his nose, feeling that the unpleasant smell of exhaust fumes, which they were surrounded by, reached his nostrils in its own way. But he said nothing, knowing full well that now he would most likely not be able to make any conversation with his companion, who was clearly lost in thought.

Slightly stretching his raspberry tongue forward, biting it shortly after doing so with his lips and teeth, he made every little effort not to snap at the frustration accumulated in him. Once again he was aware of how his simple gesture could be perceived by another, so that at the same time in his depths he could know that the chances for his thoughts to actually come true were not too high. Contrary to this however, he chose not to take any lose chances.

He wanted to show to his younger, but certainly more experienced partner, that he was able to support him in this specific situation in which they both found themselves, despite being silent for basically all this time.

Not that he had no objections either, but his word against those directed at him from Central Base and Max Tennyson's mouth itself wasn't something he could just ignore. It is true that this activity, although it was not easier, certainly came more naturally to his partner because in the end the mentioned older man was his grandfather. But when Blonko witnessed their mutual exchange of opinions, he could clearly hear hesitation and uncertainty in the voice of the shorter one.

"What do you mean we have to go all the way to Japan?!" The loud voice echoed through the room in which they were located, so that practically everyone who performed their private tasks in it could stop doing them to look at the situation before them. It was by no means common for the younger of the two Tennyson from their small family to raise his voice in such a drastic way, especially to a person so close to him.

His posture clearly contained some gram of anxiety and electricity that spread through his body and sparkled slightly, as if it was about to overload his body. One of the staff, who was definitely just about to start his real job at their facility, was halfway up picking up his phone to film the whole thing, but was stopped by his senior supervisor who calmly shook his head and covered with his hand the lens.

"I have already explained to you that it is necessary, other agents sent by us are doing what they can to avert the crisis in other countries, only Jap-"

"That's great, but guess what? I don't care!" Everything went silent, and the only thing that could be heard was the teenager's accelerated breathing, which vented his emotions. He stood there for a moment, his left leg int the front to keep his balance as he leaned on it, and his hands clenched into fists at his sides, all that while panting loudly. No one present in the room was able to say that they had ever seen such a agression attack in the eyes of their young local hero, especially directed to his grandfather.

At last straightening after this endlessly long moment, also swallowing the dried saliva in his throat, which was beginning to form slowly into a disturbing lump, the young hero wasn't going to stand idly and observe as some serious decisions were being made for him.

He was well aware, after so many years of acting in this "glorious" profession of being a hero (which he was, despite not having an official license for some time!) that he was certainly not the most resonable, but at the same time he was one of the best official agents who worked in the Plumbers departments. Indeed, he was soon considered to be seventeen, but despite that, he still has an experience that no one could ever acquire, even a professional hero considered the best in the rankings at this point (whoever was the number one hero now).

Maybe he was perhaps underage, but he still wanted to know what he was meant to do, especially if it was he who was about to leave his country for an undefined fraction of time.

"Ben, you have to understand that I don't want to send you that far, but looking at our other candidates you are the best choice... " The heavy exhaust that went along with this statement was also followed briefly by a rather sad, but also heavy expression on his face, painted on the lips of an old man.

It was evident that he didn't do it lightly, and making such an important decision was difficult for him to finally approve. However, he could not, first of all, talk about it so easily to his own grandson, whom he knew well that when he would agree, he would not see him for a really long and tedious time.

"What about Bellwood?" He asked suddenly, thus lifting his eyes and crossing his own, as if they were emitting a glow of juicy green irises with those saturated black, which belonged to his grandfather. "What about my town when I'm gone, what when Vilgax decides to invade us, or the Incurseans?" The youngest of the three didn't want to let this matter so easily go, no matter how much his life would depend on it.

"We've got it under control, new cadets have been properly trained to be able to prevent this kind of situations, and even for a few days fight off attacks of a possible mass invasion." Even though the elder assured him that they would be able to cope without his adolescent hero during his eventual absence, he still had no intention of agreeing to leave his hometown so easily.

It is not known when or at what point, but the hand of Max Tennyson, one of the best Plumbers experienced in his years, who now only wanted to continue helping his charges as best as he could, but also to those who he needed help, went to one of the shoulders of the younger boy standing in front of him. Squeezing his already tight grip on him, he felt the corners of his mouth involuntarily twist into a gentle smile, which in turn showed a willingness to resolve this dilemma, to make it fall into oblivion.

"Ben..." He began calmly, his words uttered through his lips with that pleasant undertone that always soothed the younger's nerves, especially at times when he thought all hope was lost. This was not however the moment he wanted to hear them. He didn't need any help now, on the contrary, he knew exactly what he wanted. But as it turns out, he was still unable to resist the words of his grandfather, who he himself knew that he only wanted good for him and others. "I know it can be difficult for you, and it is certainly not the same as if you went to some other planet... But believe me, you are needed there."

Ben didn't have to be some great expert and genius to be able to read the emotions on the face of his greatest role model over the years to understand what he was trying to convey to him.

Turning his gaze aside, no longer being sure of his own further words which he intended to say, he sank into his own thoughts, trying to understand the choice he was supposed to make.

Did he want to go to Japan? Not by the slightest. He didn't think that this was something he should do, especially when literally a few weeks ago he had to repel the attack of the aforementioned frog aliens, and later help with the cover-up story so people woldn't know that it was their doing. Sometimes his work frustrated him more than Levin himself, but what even could he do about that.

Before this whole argument began, which now brought them to this place, he was thoroughly introduced to the smaller details of the mission he would undertake while there. A drug that would cause any vital functions to stop without killing them was not something that could be passed with a pinch of salt, so the Plumbers' troops were immediately put into action. Interestingly, the effect of the same doping had a completely different effect on people, but here, the effects were really various.

He was supposed to investigate it more deeply, try to understand also what happened that the extraterrestrial visitors on his planet had to suffer in the worst way possible.

"If you don't want to do it, I'll understand Ben." His thoughts were interrupted once again by the senior plumber who was with him and by his side for most of his adventures in his youth. "But know that the life of innocent citizens may depend on whether you agree to it..."

"...Because what they are in is the wrong place in the wrong time, I know." He grunted, lowering his head dissatisfied, but out of the corner of his eye he could clearly see the gentle smile that widened slightly when he also finished the sentence.

He really didn't want to go to Japan. He didn't know for how long he would have to go there, and moreover, he finally managed to somehow normalize their relationship with Julie, which had already been in the wreckage for some time. What was he supposed to do now? Tell her that he is going to her homeland, but not in order to offer her a trip, but only because he has to deal with his heroic life there too? He could already see with his imagination how delighted she was with this idea, especially when he knew that this whole Hervé was just waiting for such an opportunity to make his own move.

Stupid hero complex.

"Just-Just let's get over it quickly." He growled, closing his eyes, not wanting to see any face of relief or happiness in any of the gathered crowd face anytime soon.

"Thank you Ben." Even though he knew the words had an overtone of joy, to him they still carried the hint of bitterness that penetrated right throught his heart.

This was how they found themselves on the highway to their destination, a large city called Musutafu, which was only four hours away. With a tank full of previously refilled fuel, which was a special mixture straight from one of the Plumbers' quarters, they were able, after more than a twelve-hour journey by plane, to arrive at the station, where they had been waiting for the previously transported Rusty Bucket. It was with their van that they were to complete their journey and move around in any case of need.

Ben wasn't even going to question how their van was on the place before they were there, he didn't even have the strength to do so. He hadn't even said a word throughout the journey, which was strange to see that he was the one who usually tried to make any kind of contact with his partner, distracting him while doing so.

After a while, Rook just decided to respect it. Yes, at first he tried to somehow start a discussion, so that he could fill the unbearable silence, which was interrupted only by the sounds around them, but he wasn't able to. He understood with each passing minute that his friend had to organize everything that had been imposed on him in his head for such a short time, causing confusion.

Turning on the radio that instantly caught a certain Japanese station, he quickly changed it to the one belonging to the official base of plumbers, to also feel in some strange way a satisfaction when the person on the other side started speaking in a language he knew. They didn't have to wait long for the music to be played, which in turn began to make their journey more pleasant for their almost half-hour stay in a traffic jam.

Looking ahead, the lavender-colored boy in the meantime adjusted the mirror so only that after doing so, they could see how the cars in front of them could begin to move. Clutching one of his feet on the clutch, he shifted gear only to drive forward, glad that they were getting closer to their destination.

He didn't say a single word when he noticed out of the corner of his eye that his partner started suddenly tapping his hand against his knee to the rhythm of a song that could be heard in the background of their pleasant silence.

Henlo!

In all honesty - Translating this chapter took me definitely too long.

I just can hope that there aren't many major spelling and grammar mistakes (Who am I even lying to? ;v;) so this chapter is readable!

And yeah, it's the first chapter of my new story about Ben 10 Omniverse and Boku No Hero Academia, so hope you've enjoyed it!

There are going to be some changes in the plot and maybe a few things, but I think they're only for good, so don't worry!

Hope you're having a nice day/night, and Bye!
