Summary/disclaimer Time for another chapter of Metallic Melody. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.
Hikaru could only look at Mei while he continued to tinker. He could see her smile, amused to see how he was working. Still? It was much more distracting when he thought about it. Hikaru was quite amused when it came down to it.
"So, what ya working on?" Mei asked, walking back towards Hikaru. "Oh, is that a pair of cybernetic gauntlets?" Mei questioned as she peaked over his shoulder, curious and standing on her tiptoes over his shoulder.
"Is it that easy for you to see it?" Hikaru questioned as he started to think about his invention as he thought about his next move. "I can't get the circuits to work properly. They're not aligning properly when it comes down to it. I'm ready to stop, I don't know what the issue is, the capacitators aren't powering up right." Hikaru said as he leaned on the wall, annoyed at his lack of progress.
He turned to be greeted by Mei's smirking face. It almost made him slam into the waist high table. He sighed mentally, Hikaru was no stranger to Mei being ALL over whatever he made.
Then again? He was quite curious as he thought about it. Hikaru loved new technology, he was always eager to research thing when it came down to it. Mei was quite similar to him at the ends.
"Have you tried enhancing the plasma core and bringing down the power output currently?" Mei asked as she blinked, curious as to what it was doing.
"No, why do you ask?" Mei heard as Hikaru questioned and slowly walked up to her, his arms crossed over his chest. "Why would… Oh, crap. I see why it broke; the power is too high; it's burning itself out." Hikaru pointed out as he shook his head.
He was so annoyed when it came down to it. Hikaru shook his head and then rolled his head. He put his hands on the table, standing next to Mei who smiled as she lowered her goggles down onto her head as she started to inspect the item.
It wasn't bad, but it was clear that Hikaru was new to technology, not a bad thing when she thought about it. Still? She was curious as to why he was trying to crank the power up so much. It didn't really help; however, Mei could clearly see that this technology was quite primitive.
"This is old tech, isn't it?" Mei questioned to which Hikaru shrugged.
"It was much more interesting to study technology that's old. We advanced a LOT in years." Hikaru said as he clicked his metallic fingers together, hoping to be working again. "I don't really know how to make it work that best at the moment. I don't know how it's working, however. This was something I wanted to make for a while, construction equipment at the second is limited, nobody really knows how to cut down on spending." Hikaru said while picking up one of the gauntlets.
Hikaru watched Mei blink and slowly grabbed his arm. He was STILL surprised how this woman was strong enough to pull a cyborg.
'Seriously, her quirk ISN'T super strength? I can't believe it.' Hikaru thought to himself, allowing her to pull him along the room as she did so.
It was a fun enough moment for him to let her make him look over her inventions. He was hopeful they could work on something together; her skill was just as good as him as not better at some things. It was obvious her robotic work was second to none when he considered it.
"Hey, Mei?" Hikaru asked as the girl continued pulling him across the room, uncaring at the moment how much effort it seemed to take. "Is there anything you HATE working on? I'm just interested in how you can work on so many things currently." Hikaru said before he sighed to himself and shook his head.
Maybe he expected some over the top answer. Some enhanced screech or throw him around. He was curious as to what came next. Mei was a LOT more curious than he imagined, but it was something that was still unexpected for him. It almost gave him a headache when it came down to it. There was plenty of work for him to consider and even more to be scared down to it. There was plenty of work when he considered it. Hikaru would have almost given anything for it to have his quirk replaced his fear.
'Curiosity comes with being an inventor, it's something that comes with this type of thing. I cannot believe that there was plenty of things wrong with stuff like this.' Hikaru stated to himself as he sighed mentally to himself.
He was greeted by an insane, mischievous giggle when it came down to it. He hummed.
Author notes
Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that these chapters are delayed at the moment. I am sick with you know what at the moment. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show more of Mei and Hikaru's bond at the time. Next chapter will be delayed and such when it comes down to it. Until Then, Lighting Wolf out!
