Friendship is Magic Part 1

Twilight trotted through the gardens when she meet up with three unicorn mares. One is ivory coat, curly pink mane and tail, electric blue eyes, and a mark of three sparkly blue stars. The other is has a Maya blue coat, periwinkle mane and tail with a pigment blue streak, dark blue eyes, and amarkof an hourglass. The third one has a yellow coat, a cerulean mane and tail with a lighter tail streak, raspberry eyes, and markof three hearts; two light blue and one light green. They are Twinkleshine, Minuette, and Lemon Hearts.

"There you are, Twilight! Moon Dancer is having a little get-together in the west castle courtyard. You wanna come?" Twinkleshine asked.

"Oh, sorry, girls... I've got a lot of studying to catch up on," Twilight said, taking off. She ran in the direction she is going leaving sour looks on their faces.

Twinkleshine sighed, "Does that pony do anything except study? I think she's more interested in books than friends." The other two mares were in a full agreement.

Twilight ran pass

"I know I've heard of the Elements of Harmony," Twilight said to herself. A small purple and green scaled baby dragon is carrying a red box with a gold ribbon wrapped around it. The dragon also has a light spring budish gray underbelly and light lime green ear fronds. It was her number one assistant Spike. Spike has been with her from the beginning of his life. Twilight enters the tower, hitting Spike.

"Ow!" Spike yelped.

"Spike! Spi-ike! Spike?" Twilight looked around for Spike. The baby dragon groaned. "There you are. Quick, find me that old copy of Predictions and Prophecies." She noticed that the package is impaled on his tail. "What's that for?"

"Well, it was a gift for Moon Dancer, but," Spike said. A teddy bear fell out and squeaks when it lands on the ground.

"Oh, Spike, you know we don't have time for that sort of thing," Twilight said, moving some books.

"But we're on a break!" Spike told Twilight. She uses her magic which gave off a reddish-violet aura. She brings the books down to her level and searches for the book she's looking for.

"No, no, no... no, no, no!" Twilight said, searching for the book she's looking for. She groans in frustration. "Spike!" Spike is on a ladder, holding the book she's looking for.

"It's over here!" Spike announced, holding the book. She levitates the book towards her while Spike was holding it. He lands on his face.

"Ah!" Twilight said, undoing her magic on the other books. Spike gets back up and starts to pick them up with a sigh. Twilight was searching the page she's looking for. "Elements, Elements, E, E, E... Aha! Elements of Harmony, see: Mare in the Moon?" Spike climbed back up to reshelve the books

"Mare in the Moon? But that's just an old ponies' tale," Spike said. Twilight went to another book and searches for the page she's looking for.

"Mare, mare... aha!" Twilight exclaimed as she starts reading. While Twilight was reading, he was busy putting the books back, and he struggles to keep himself from falling. "The Mare in the Moon, myth from olden pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal!" Twilight gasped in shock. "Spike! Do you know what this means?

"No," Spike answered. He loses his balance and fell off the ladder and lands on Twilight's back. She has a scroll and a quill ready for him to start writing.

"Take a note please, to the Princess," Twilight said. She extends her tail for the baby dragon to get off.

"Okie dokie," Spike said, getting off of Twilight's back. Spike starts writing.

"My dearest teacher, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster!" Twilight dictated.

"Hold on. Preci... preci..." It was obvious that Spike was having trouble spelling percipice.

"Threshold," Twilight suggested.

"Threh..." Spike tried to spell.

"Uh, brink?" Twilight asked as Spike just blinked. "Ugh, that something really bad is about to happen!" Spike proceeds to write. "For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon, and she's about to return to Equestria, and bring with her eternal night! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle," Twilight concluded.

"Twi... light Spar... kle. Got it!" Spike said, writing Twilight's

"Great! Send it," Twilight said.

"Now?" Spike asked.

"Of course!" Twilight stated.

"Uh, I dunno, Twilight, Princess Celestia's a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. And it's like, the day after tomorrow," Spike reminded the unicorn.

"That's just it, Spike. The day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration! It's imperative that the Princess is told right away!" Twilight said.

"Impera... impera..." Spike pondered if he should write it down as Twilight rolled her eyes.

"Important!" Twilight shouted, making Spike tumble backwards.

"Whoa!" Spike yelped. He hits the bookshelf behind him. "Okay, okay!" He rolls up the scroll and inhales. He spews green magical flames and the letter is sent magically. "There, it's on its way. But I wouldn't hold your breath," Spike said.

"Oh, I'm not worried, Spike. The Princess trusts me completely. In all the years she's been my mentor she's never once doubted me," Twilight said proudly. A few seconds later, Spike belched and a scroll appeared before Twilight. "See? I knew she would want to take immediate action." Spike unrolls the scroll and begins to read what is written.

"My dearest, most faithful student Twilight. You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely," Spike read the letter.

"Mm-hm!" Spike continues to read.

"...but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!" Spike kept reading. Twilight Sparkle gasped.

Back in Odaiba, Tai and tried his home and his mom, Yuuko tells him that she hasn't seen Kari or Gatomon since she left to meet with the others. Matt tried the same thing at TK's place, but Nancy tells her oldest son the same thing. They tried with the families of Davis, Yolei, Cody, and Ken, but they had no luck.

"What could have happened to them?" Joe asked.

"You don't hink maybe some evil Digimon has taken them, do you?" Gomamon asked.

"I hope not," Biyomon said.

"Maybe we should try the Digital World. They might have gone looking in there, and lost track of time," Sora said.

"No, I already tried it. I couldn't pick up their D-3s anywhere," Izzy said.

"Well, that's a bummer," Matt said.

"It sure is," Gabumon said.

"They can't be in the Digital World and they can't be at home, so where can they be?" Mimi asked.

"What about the reading Izzy was picking up?" Tentomon asked.

"This is more important right now," Agumon said.

"He's right. They went through the trouble of helping us, and we have to do the same thing," Palmon said.

"Let's try some places where they usually hang other than the Digital World. Maybe we might get lucky," Tai said.

"It's worth a shot," Agumon said.

"I just hope that they're okay," Tai said.

Back in Ponyville, the six DigiDestined and the Digimon all sat at the local park.

"Can you believe that it's the day after tomorrow?" Davis asked.

"And since the princess is coming from, what did they say was that name again? Canterlot?" Ken asked.

"Yeah, that's exactly right. Maybe, we could talk to the princess on helping us find a way back home," Yolei said.

"Even we do speak with her, do you think she'll even believe us if we tell her that we came from another world?" Cody asked.

"That's a good point, Cody, but we have to try," Kari said.

"It's better than doing nothing," TK said.

"Okay, guys, as soon as the Summer Sun Celebration's over, we can have a talk with the princess and tell her our story and hopefully, she'll know how to get back home," Davis said.

"I just don't know how long we would have to wait, because I have been having a strange craving for some oats," Yolei said.

"So have I," TK said.

"At least I kept them under control when I was Pegasusmon," Patamon said.

"And even if we do go back, do you think anyone would believe us that we tell them that we came back from a world filled with colorful talking ponies?" Wormmon asked.

"I don't know, but I can count on Mimi getting all giddy when she sees this place and us for one thing," Kari said, using her magic to lift up her camera, giving off a magenta aura. The others all looked at her. "What?"

"When did you get the hang of doing that?" Gatomon asked.

"Oh, just a little practice. Davis was doing the same thing, and he made a soccer ball," Kari said.

"That was impressive, Kari. And I don't know about you, but Ken and I were trying to test out our new wings to fly like the other pegasi," TK said. He demonstrated by actually flying. "Weird is weird does, we managed to got the hang of flying pretty quick."

"Well, let's all go. Kari and I are helping Rarity with the decorations," Yolei said.

"One would consider it rude to keep a lady waiting," Hawkmon said.

"Ken and I are helping out Rainbow Dash with keeping the sky clear," TK said.

"Patamon and I will be riding on their backs, enjoying every bit of it," Wormmon said, making Ken laugh.

"And that means, the rest of us will be at Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack said that she'll be needing help with the food preparations," Davis said. Cody nodded in agreement.

The DigiDestined and the Digimon all went to their assignments with the Summer Sun Celebration.

Davis, Cody, Veemon, and Armadillomon all arrived in Sweet Apple Acres and saw there was a gathering of ponies. They all approached Applejack.

"Howdy, fellas. Where are the rest of yer friends?" Applejack asked.

"Kari and Yolei are helping out Rarity at city hall while TK and Ken are lending Rainbow Dash a hoof. And we're here to lend a hoof with the food preparations," Cody said.

"That's very neighborly of ya, Cody," Applejack said as she spots three more ponies. One of the is a large red stallion. He has an orange mane and tail, along with a big green apple hald with seeds inside. The other is a small yellow filly with amber eyes and a pink bow. She has a red mane and tail. She didn't have a mark like they did. And the third pony is an elderly green mare with a gray man and tail tied in a bun. She wore an orange scarf with apples on it.

"Anyway, what's with all the ponies here? Are they here for the Summer Sun Celebration?" Davis asked.

"They're here for the Apple Family reunion. Apples from all over Equestria all come here. This is here is mah little sister, Apple Bloom. And this is mah big brother, Big MacIntosh, and this here is Granny Smith," Applejack said. The elderly mare is fast asleep. The youngest Apple went up to Davis and Cody.

"Ah never seen Cutie Marks like those before! What are your talents?" Apple Bloom asked, getting all excited.

"Apple Bloom! Ah told ya not to be so rude asking anypony about their Cutie Mark!" Applejack scolded.

"What's a Cutie Mark?" Veemon asked. Apple Bloom gasped in shock.

"Ya don't even know what a Cutie Mark is?" Apple Bloom asked.

"We just thought they were just butt tattoos," Armadillomon said.

"I'm glad Davis didn't say that out loud," Cody said to himself. "Sorry for what he said, but we think we like to get started on those treats," Cody said.

"Sure thing. Big Mac can give ya'll a hoof with that. Ain't that right, Big Mac?" Applejack asked her brother.

"Eeyup!" Big Mac said.

The large stallion led the two colts and the Digimon to the kitchen.

Over to the girls and Hawkmon, they et up with Rarity over to city hall.

"Thank you so much for the assistance, ladies. It would make it so much smoother," Rarity said.

"Well, after letting us stay over, it's the least we can do, Rarity," Kari said.

"It wouldn't be right if we didn't pay you pay back for it," Yolei said.

"I cannot thank you enough!" Rairty said.

Over to TK and Ken, they made it to Rainbow Dash with their Digimon partners riding on their backs.

"Ready to go, Rainbow," TK said.

"Okay, boys, each of you take a place and clear our the clouds as best as you could," Rainbow Dash said.

"We're on it!" Ken said.

TK and Ken each took an area in Ponyville and cleared some clouds with ease. They first thought that the weather couldn't be controlled, but after seeing some pegasi doing that, they were glad they didn't say anything about it.

Over in the kitchen, Davis and Cody were working on the food prepartations as best as they could, only to have a few burnt pies and cupcakes, courtesy of Davis. Lucky, Cody's mom taught some things about baking a while back.

"Man, this is even more harder work than I thought," Davis said.

"Unlike you, I know what I'm doing," Cody said. Davis groaned.

"I was hoping for a taste test, but no, I get stuck making it instead," Davis said.

Meanwhile, Twilight and Spike are riding in a chariot, being carried by two pegasi gaurds wearing gold armor.

Spike read more of the princess's letter. "My dear Twilight, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: make some friends!" Spike read, making Twilight sigh. "Look on the bright side, Twilight. The Princess arranged for you to stay in a library. Doesn't that make you happy?"

"Yes, yes it does. You know why? Because I'm right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare Moon's return," Twilight said.

"Then... when will you make friends, like the Princess said?" Spike asked.

"She said to check on preparations. I am her student, and I'll do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends," Twilight said. The gaurds lands in the streets of Ponyville and whinnies upon arrival. "Thank you, sirs." The guards took their leave of the town as Pinkie Pie walks up to the newcomers.

"Maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about," Spike said. Pinkie makes a stop in front of them. "Come on, Twilight, just try!"

Twilight Sparkle: Um... hello?Pinkie Pie a gasp and ran off.

"Well, that was interesting all right," Twilight said. Spike sighed as he follows her.

They walked down the road as Spike took out a notepad and a pen.

"Summer Sun Celebration official overseer's checklist. Number one, banquet preparations: Sweet Apple Acres," Spike said, arriving into Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack galloped towards a tree and bucked it. Apples fell from it.

Twilight sighed, "Let's get this over with," Twilight said, approaching the farm mare. Good afternoon. My name is Twilight Sparkle—" She was cut off when she was shaking Twilight's hoof mighty fast.

"Well, howdy-doo, Miss Twilight, a pleasure makin' your acquaintance. I'm Applejack. We here at Sweet Apple Acres sure do like makin' new friends!" Applejack said. Twilight's hoof was still moving from the shaking.

"Friends? Actually, I—" Twilight stopped talking when Spike stopped her hoof from ashaking, Spike gave off a chuckle while she was giving him a stern look.

"So, what can I do you for?"Applejack asked. Spike stopped her hoof from shaking, Spike gave off a chuckle while she was giving him a stern look.

Twilight clears her throat, "Well, I am in fact here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. And you're in charge of the food?"

"We sure as sugar are! Would you care to sample some?" Applejack asked as Davis, Cody, Veemon, and Armadillomon came out with the prepared food.

"As long as it doesn't take too long," Twilight said.

Applejack bangs her triangle.

Soup's on, everypony!" Applejack announced. Twilight and Spike gets caught in a stampede and they are planted on a table. "Now, why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple family?"

"Thanks, but I really need to hurry," Twilgiht said. A pony with an apple fritter shows up.

"This here's Apple Fritter. Apple Bumpkin. Red Gala. Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, Apple Cinnamon Crisp," Applejack introduced as they all placed apple treats on the table. She took a deep breath. "Big McIntosh, Apple Bloom and," she shoves an apple in the unicorn's mouth, "Granny Smith. Up'n'attem, Granny Smith, we got guests." Granny Smith wakes up and snorts.

"Wha..? Soup's on? I'm up, here I come, ahm comin'..." Granny Smith.

"Why, I'd say you're already part of the family!" Applejack said as Twilight spits out the apple in surprise and laughs nervously. "The same with Davis and Cody here."

"Well golly," Davis said.

"Okay, well, I can see the food situation is handled, so we'll be on our way," Twilgiht said.

"Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?" Apple Bloom asked, giving her a puppy eye look.

"Sorry, but we have an awful lot to do," Twilight said. The Apple family all gave off disappointed sighs.

"Aw, come on, how can you say no to this? And after all the hard work we did in helping out?" Davis asked.

"And most of them ended up being burnt," Cody whispered to Veemon and Armadillomon. They both snickered.

"The least you can do is eat some and see how well they turned out," Davis said. Twilight looked around and dhe caved in just to be polite.

"Fine," Twilight recluctantly said.

The Apple family all started cheering as she had partaken in the food offered to her. The Digimon even wolfed down on the apple treats.

"Wow, this is great!" Veemon said, wolfing down the apple pie. Spike went up to Davis.

"Hey, thanks for convincing Twilight to stay along," Spike said. Davis looked right at the baby dragon.

"Hey, no problem, little dragon. The name's Davis. What's yours?" Davis asked.

"I'm Spike! I'm Twilight's number one assistant!" Spike said.

"So, you just come in town?" Davis asked.

"We just arrived. The Princess sent us over to supervise the preparations of the Summer Sun Celebration, and have Twilight make some friends," Spike said.

"Wait, the Princess sent you here?" Davis asked.

"Yeah," Spike said.

"Cool," Davis said. Cody , Veemon, and Armadillomon went up to Davis. "Perfect timing, Spike, meet Cody."

"Nice to meet you, Cody," Spike said.

"I didn't think dragons would be as friendly as you. You're the very first dragon I have ever met," Cody said.

"A dragon that isn't a Digimon anyway," Veemon said. "Anyway, I'm Veemon."

"And I'm Armadillomon," Armadillomon said.

"Good to meet you," Spike said. "Say, how would you two like to give it a shot, trying to be friends with Twilight?"

"We would if Twilight wasn't too busy eating," Cody said as Twilight was eating the apple treats.

With the food preparations marked off the list, Twilight and Spike took off for the next objective on their list.

"Food's all taken care of, next is weather," Spike said. Twilight trailed behind with her belly full from eating all those treats.

"Ugh... I ate too much pie..." Twilight said. Spike looked around in the sky.

"Hmm, there's supposed to be a Pegasus pony named Rainbow Dash clearing the clouds," Spike said. Twilight looked up to the sky and sees nopony.

"Well, she's not doing a very good job, is she?" Twilight asked. Rainbow Dash rammed right into her and landed right in a mud puddle. Rainbow Dash gave a sheepish laugh.

"Uh, 'scuse me?" She laughed sheepishly again. Twilight goraned as Rainbow Dash continued to laugh.

"Lemme help you," Rainbow Dash said. She brings in a cloud and jumps up and down on it.. It rains onto the unicorn until the cloud turns white. Rainbow Dash laughed sheepishly some more.

"Oops, I guess I overdid it. Um, uh, how about this?" Rainbow Dash asked as she flew around Twilight incredibly fast. "My very own patented Rain-Blow Dry! No no. Don't thank me. You're quite welcome." TK, Ken, Patamon, and Wormmon flew back to Rainbow Dash.

"We're finished with clearing the clouds in our areas," TK said.

"Anything else you need us to do?" Ken asked. They saw Twilight was her mane and tail all poofy. They all tried to hold in their laughter, but they burst out laughing. Spike joins in on the laughing.

"Let me guess. You're Rainbow Dash," Twilight said. They all stopped lauguing.

"The one and only," Rainbow Dash proudly admitted. She flew above the unicorn. "Why, you heard of me?"

"I heard you were supposed to be keeping the sky clear," she sighs. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, and the Princess sent me to check on the weather," Twilight said.

"Wait, the Princess sent you?" Ken asked.

"Yes, she did. I'm her student, sent here to supervised the preparations," Twilight said.

"That's great! I'm TK, and this is Ken. And these are Patamon and Wormmon," TK introduced.

"Nice to meet you, TK. I'm Spike," Spike introduced himself. Spike shook his hoof.

"You're a dragon, aren't you, Spike? Are there others just like you?" TK asked.

"Sure, but not all of them are like me like I was told," Spike said.

"Must be tough not to know other dragons, Spike," Ken said.

Twilight cleared her throat.

"So, Rainbow Dash, aren't you going to clear up these clouds or what?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Yeah, yeah, that'll be a snap. I'll do it in a jiffy. Just as soon as I'm done practicing," Rainbow Dash said.

"Practicing for what?" Twilight asked.

"The Wonderbolts! They're gonna perform at the Celebration tomorrow, and I'm gonna show 'em my stuff!" Rainbow Dash said.

"The Wonderbolts?" Twilight asked.

Rainbow Dash answered, "Yep!

"The most talented flyers in all of Equestria?" Twilight asked.

"That's them!" Rainbow Dash said.

Twilight Sparkle scoffed, "Please. They'd never accept a Pegasus who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day."

"Hey, I could clear this sky in ten seconds flat," Rainbow Dash said.

"Wait, ten seconds?" Ken asked.

"That's right, Ken! And I can do it without breaking a sweat!" Rainbow Dash said.

"That I would like to see," TK said.

"Me too, me too!" Patamon said.

"Prove it," the unicorn dared the pegasus. Rainbow Dash flew around the sky and kicked all the clouds right out of the sky. TK, Ken, Patamon, and Wormmon were impressed by Rainbow Dash's speed.

Loop-de-loop around, and wham!" Rainbow Dash said, getting the last cloud.

"Whoa," TK, Ken, Patamon, and Wormmon could only say as Twilight was stunned.

"What'd I say? Ten. Seconds. Flat. I'd never leave Ponyville hanging," Rainbow Dash said.

a sheep baaing is heard.

"You hear a sheep just now?" Wormmon asked.

Rainbow Dash chuckles as she flew down to Twilight. "You should see the look on your face. Ha! You're a laugh, Twilight Sparkle. I can't wait to hang out some more," Rainbow Dash said. She looked at the two pegasi. "Oh, you both did a great job with helping me out, so you can do what you want now." She flew off.

"Wow, she's amazing!" Spike said.

"I'll say she is. Even I wasn't that fast when I played sports," Ken said.

"I'll you weren't," TK said. He looked right at Spike. "It was nice meeting you two."

"We'll see you later," Ken added as the two pegasi flew off. Spike looked at Twilight's mane and tried to hold in his laugh. Twilight growled as she stormed off. "Wait! It's kinda pretty once you get used to it!" They made it city hall and checke off the next part of their list. "Decorations." Spike spots a certain white unicorn as she's with Kari, Yolei, Gatomon, and Hawkmon.

"Yes, the décor is coming along nicely. This ought'a be quick. I'll be at the library in no time. Beautiful indeed," Twilight said.

"Not the décor, her!" Spike said, pointing at Rarity. Twilight was looking at him confused.

"Which one?" Twilight asked.

"The unicorn with the pretty mane," Spike cooed. Twilight rolled her eyes as Spike was developing a crush on her.

"So, Rarity, how about these?" Yolei asked.

No, no, no, oh!" Rairty said.

"Than how about these?" Kari asked.

Goodness no, Kari," Rarity said.

"How are my spines? Are they straight?" Spike asked. Twilight rolled her eyes as she went over to Rarity.

Twilight greeted, "Good afternoon."

"Just a moment, please! I'm 'in the zone', as it were," Rarity said.

"How about this red one?" Yolei asked.

"Oh, yes! That's exactly it! Sparkle always does the trick, does it not? Why, Rarity, you are a talent. Now, um, how can I help yo," Rarity yelped when she saw Twilight's mane. "Oh my stars, darling! Whatever happened to your coiffure?!"

"Oh, you mean my mane? Well, it's a long story. I'm just here to check on the decorations, and then I'll be out of your hair," Twilight said.

"Out of my hair? What about your hair?!" Rarity asked. She began to push Twilight right out the door.

"Wait! Where are we going?! Help!" Twilight begged.

"I think she's going to fix up her mane," Hawkmon said.

"It sure looks like it," Gatomon added.

"Isn't she gorgeous?" Spike asked in a lovestruck tone. The girls looked right at the baby dragon as he uses his tail as a propeller and flies to follow them.

"What's with him?" Hawkmon asked.

"I think he has a crush on her," Kari said. "I never thought a dragon would be so adorable."

They made their way to Carousel Boutique as Twilight was trying on different outfits until she found the right one that suits her.

"No, no, uh-uh. Too green. Too yellow. Too poofy. Not poofy enough. Too frilly. Too... shiny," Twilight was wearing a corset encrusted with gems. "Now go on, my dear. You were telling me where you're from," Rarity said. She began to pull on the strings of the corset.

"I've... been sent... from Canterlot... to," Twilight tried to explain when Rarity let's go and she fell.

"Huh? Canterlot?! Oh, I am so envious! The glamour, the sophistication! I have always dreamed of living there! I can't wait to hear all about it! We are gonna be the best of friends, you and I," Rarity said, making Twilight wince. "Emeralds?! What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies!" She took off to find some rubies.

"Quick! Before she decides to dye my coat a new color!" Twilight exclaimed as she ran off. Spike sighed lovingly. Twilight took off the corset and uses her magic to grab Spike in his love daze. Spike rode on her back.

"Wasn't she wonderful?" Spike asked.

"Focus, Casanova. What's next on the list?" Twilight asked. Spike clears his throat.

"Oh, uh, music! It's the last one!" Spike said, checking his list. The sound of birds singing are heard in a distant. Fluttershy was conducting the birds to sing. The only one that was off key was a blue jay.

"Oh my. Um, stop please, everyone, umm," Fluttershy said. She flew up to the blue jay. "Excuse me, sir? I mean no offense, but your rhythm is just a teeny-tiny bit off. Now, follow me, please. A-one, a-two, a-one two three-" Fluttershy counted before Twilight shows up.

"Hello!" Twilight shouted from behind. Fluttershy yelped as all of her birds flew off. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to frighten your birds. I'm just here to check up on the music and it's sounding beautiful. Fluttershy was silent since she was somepony new. "I'm Twilight Sparkle. more silence came. What's your name?"

Fluttershy answered very quietly, "Um... I'm Fluttershy."

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Twilight asked.

Fluttershy: answered even quieter, "Um... My name is Fluttershy."

"Didn't quite catch that," Fluttershy squeaked. Some of the birds came right back onto the tree.

"Well, um, it looks like your birds are back, so I guess everything's in order. Keep up the good work!" Fluttershy squeaked.

"Oookay," Twilight said. Fluttershy glances over to Twilight and sees Spike coming from a bush. "Well, that was easy."

"A baby dragon!" Fluttershy exclaimed happily. She headbutts Twilight to have a look at Spike. "Oh, I've never seen a baby dragon before. He's sooo cute!"

"Well, well, well," Spike said with pride.

"Oh my, he talks. I didn't know dragons could talk. That's just so incredibly wonderful I, I just don't even know what to say!" Fluttershy said as she literally flutters. Twilight uses her magic to grab Spike and places him on her back.

"Well, in that case we'd better be going," Twilight said. Fluttershy went behind her.

"Wait, wait! What's his name?" Fluttershy asked.

"I'm Spike."

"Hi Spike, I'm Fluttershy. Wow, a talking dragon! And what do dragons talk about?" Fluttershy asked.

"Well, what do you wanna know?" Spike asked.

"Absolutely everything. Twilight groaned.

"Well... I started out as a cute little purple and green egg," Spike started to tell the story of his life. It went all the way to the Golden Oats Library "...and that's the story of my whole entire life! Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?"

"Oh, yes, please!" Fluttershy said.

Spike yelped as Twilight turned around.

"I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast? This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs his sleep," Twilight said.

"No I don't!" Twilight bumps him off, "Whoa!"

"Aww, wook at dat, he's so sweepy he can't even keep his widdle bawance!" Twilight said, giving her a nervous grin. Fluttershy flew right towards Spike and took him in her forelegs.

"Poor thing, you simply must get into bed," Fluttershy said. Fluttershy flew inside. Twilight dashed inside and pushes her put.

"Yes, yes, we'll get right on that. Well, g'night!" Twilight said, shutting the door.

"Psst! Fluttershy!" A voice called out in a whisper. It turns out to be Davis. She was nervous about sneaking inside, but it was to get to know Veemon and the other Digimon. Luckily for them, the lights were off. The rest of the DigiDestined were inside as well. They were told about Twilight's connections with the Princess, so they had to wait until after the Celebration.

"Huh. Rude much?" Spike asked.

"Sorry, Spike, but I have to convince the Princess that Nightmare Moon is coming, and we're running out of time! I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time. Now, where's the light?" Twilight asked. The lights flicks on.

"Surprise!" Kazoos are blown.

Twilight groaned.

Pinkie approached the unicorn.

"Surprise! Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, and I threw this party just for you! Were you surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh huh huh?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Very surprised. Libraries are supposed to be quiet," Twilight said.

"Well, that's silly! What kind of welcome party would this be if it were quiet? I mean, duh, bo-ring! Y'see, I saw you when you first got here, remember? You were all 'hello' and I was all," gasp, "remember? Y'see I've never saw you before and if I've never saw you before that means you're new, 'cause I know everypony, and I mean every pony in Ponyville!" Pinkie Pie said. Twilight groaned as she pours some hot sauce into a cup, thinking it was a drink. "And if you're new, that meant you haven't met anyone yet, and if you haven't met anyone yet, you must not have any friends, and if you don't have any friends then you must be lonely, and that made me so sad, then I had an idea, and that's why I went," gasp, "I must throw a great big ginormous super-duper spectacular welcome party and invite everyone in Ponyville! See? And now you have lots and lots of friends!" Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, the DigiDestined, and the Digimon all gathered as the sound of kettle whistling is heard.

"Are you all right, sugarcube?" Applejack asked.

"You look like you're about to blow up," Kari said. A train engine is heard and went off to cool her mouth.

"Aww, she's so happy she's crying!" Pinkie Pie said.

"Hot sauce," Spike read.

"She actually drank hot sauce," Armdillomon said. Pinkie dumps some on a cupcake.

Ooh!" Pinkie Pie said with her mouth full. She was getting some strange looks. "What? It's good!" The DigiDestined couldn't help but laugh at her silly antics. They looked up to Twilight who was heading upstairs.

"Spike, is she always like this?" Ken asked.

"Twilight isn't the most sociable pony you would meet. She's always been into books more than making friends. She's been like that ever since she was a filly," Spike explained. The DigiDestined kept looking up to upstairs as the music plays. The music gets louder as the DigiDestined went upstairs as the Digimon were having their fill of the cake, cupcakes, and drinking punch. Twilight looked right at the six ponies.

"Don't you have a party to attend to?" Twilight asked.

"Well, it's not really a party if the guest of honor isn't down there and hainv fun at her own party," Yolei said.

"Especially after Pinkie went through the trouble to throw it just for you," Kari said.

"I'm not in the party mood. Especially with what's coming!" Twilight said.

"You mean the whole Nightmare Moon thing?" Davis asked. Twilight looked right at him. "We heard you talking about it."

"What makes you think Nightmare Moon is going to come back?" TK asked.

"It has been said on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aide in her escape. The mythical Mare in the Moon is infact Nightmare Moon herself," Twilight said.

"Maybe you should share with us what you know about Nightmare Moon," Yolei said.

"Nightmare Moon wanted to rule Equestria and cover the land in eternal night. That is until the Princess used the Elements of Harmony to defeat Nightmare Moon and banished her into the moon," Twilight explained. The DigiDestined remembered how MaloMyotismon came close into shrouding Earth in eternal night as well. And he almost succeeded if it weren't for the lights of their Digivices.

"If you say that Nightmare Moon is coming back, then you should know that we'll back you up," Davis said.

"Right. There has got to be a way to keep her up there," TK said.

"I appreciate your help, but I need to handle it myself," Twilight said.

"How. You don't even know when she's going to be out," Kari said.

Just then, a door opens and Spike steps in with a party hat.

"Hey Twilight! Pinkie Pie's starting "pin the tail on the pony"! Wanna play?" Spike asked.

"No! All the ponies in this town are crazy! Do you know what time it is?!" Twilight exclaimed.

"It's the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration. Everypony has to stay up, or they'll miss the Princess raise the sun! You really should lighten up, Twilight. It's a party!" Spike said, walking out. Twilight mockingly imitates Spike

"Ugh, here I thought I'd have time to learn about the Elements of Harmony but, silly me, all this ridiculous friend-making has kept me from it!" Twilight groaned.

"There's nothing wrong with making friends, Twilight. You'll never know when you're going to need one," Kari said.

"Yeah right," Twilight said.

"No, it's true. I didn't think about making friends either, until these five came around and changed my life for the better," Ken said. Twilight sighed.

"I'm sure it'll be easy for you to say," Twilight said, looking up to the moon. "'Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about everlasting night' I hope the Princess was right... I hope it really is just an old pony tale." Spike walked in the door.

"C'mon, Twilight, it's time to watch the sunrise!" Spike announced.

Back in Odaiba, the orginal DigiDestined looked around for them.

"Where could they be?" Sora asked.

"We have to keep looking, Sora," Tai said.

"If only there was some kind of sign," Matt said. Izzy stroked his chin.

"Hmm," Izzy said.

"Izzy, what's up?" Joe asked.

"I just had a thought. What if this is somehow connected to the phenomenon that I have detected?" Izzy asked.

"You mean, Davis and the others found it, and then disappeared?" Matt asked.

"That can't be good," Palmon said.

"If it is, then the strange energy is what's making it impossible for us to track them," Izzy said.

"But where do we look?" Mimi asked.

"I think we should start over at the park," Izzy suggested.

"That's as good as any to start looking," Agumon said.

"And it's better than nothing," Gabumon said.

With that said, the original DigiDestined and their Digimon partners went to look at the park.

Back in Ponyville, the ponies were gathering to the city hall to witness the rising of the sun and see Princess Celestia herself.

"Isn't this exciting? Are you excited, 'cause I'm excited, I've never been so excited— well, except for the time that I saw you walking into town and I went," gasp, "but I mean really, who can top that?"

"Just about anything we've got," Davis said. Fluttershy's birds gave off a fanfare that the Celebration was about to begin. Stepping in on stage is a cream-colored mare with a whitish mane, tail, a scroll tied in a blue ribbon for a cutie mark, and glasses upon her nose appeared. It was Ponyville's mayor, Mayor Mare.

"Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!" Mayor Mare announced. All the ponies cheered. But while she spoke, Twilight looked up and saw the stars approach the moon and the Mare in the Moon's silhouette disappeared from the moon's surface. This made her rather nervous, as the Mayor continued on completely blissfully. Mayor Mare added, "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year! And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria..."

Fluttershy asked, "Ready?"

"...Princess Celestia!" Mayor Mare concluded.

A spotlight appears where the Princess is set to arrive, and Rarity opens the curtains… But she wasn't there.

"Huh?" Rarity asked. All the ponies chattering quietly and nervously in the background. The DigiDestined knew it was a bad sign.

"This can't be good," Twilight asked.

"You think?" Yolei asked.

"Remain calm, everypony, there must be a reasonable explanation!" Mayor Mare said, trying to calm everypony down.

"Ooh, ooh, I love guessing games! Is she hiding?" Pinkie asked.

I don't think it's a game, Pinkie," Kari said.

"I can bet my nine lives, it's about to get worse," Gatomon said. Rairy went to search the area where she's supposed to be, but all she had to say was...

"She's gone!" Rarity asid. All the ponies all gasped in shock.

"Ooh, she's good," Pinkie Pie said. She yelped as a puff of sparkly purple smoke appeared. The smoke has taken the shape tall, dark alicorn in light blue armor.

"Oh no," Twilight said.

"Is that her?" Veemon asked.

"Yes it is. It's Nightmare Moon!" Twilight gasped. Spike faints.

"Oh, my beloved subjects. It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces," Nightmare Moon announced to the ponies.

"What did you do with our Princess?!" Rainbow Dash demanded. She was about to attack her when Applejack grabbed her tail with her mouth.

"Whoa there, Nelly," Applejack said with her mouth muffled.

Nightmare Moon chuckled, "Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?"

"Ooh, ooh, more guessing games! Um, Hokey Smokes! How about... Queen Meanie! No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty—" Pinkie guessed until Applejack shoved an apple in her mouth, keeping her quiet. Nightmare Moon was furious. She glared angrily, first to Fluttershy, who couldn't look her in the eye, and eventually turned to Rarity.

"Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?" Nightmare Moon asked angrily.

"I did. And I know who you are. You're the Mare in the Moon – Nightmare Moon!" Twilight declared. The ponies gasped.

"Well well well, somepony who remembers me. Then you also know why I'm here," Nightmare Moon presumed.

"You're here to... to," Twilight gupled.

"Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!" Nightmare Moon announced as she laughed evilly as thunder crashed down. The DigiDestined all knew they all had a fight on their hands (or in this case hooves). And it looks like they're going have to find a way to save Equestria if Princess Celestia couldn't.

To be continued...
