The Ticket Master

On a beautiful sunny morning in Sweet Apple Acres, Twilight, Tai, Davis, Agumon, and Veemon were helping out with the apple bucking. While they were doing so, they shared some stories when saving the real world and the Digital World.

They had both been working hard gathering basket after basket of apples gathered from the orchard. Spike was simply enjoying a comfy ride along Twilight's back, apparently entertaining himself by separating the fresh apples from the…Not-so-fresh apples.

"No. Nope. Nope..." Spike muttered, tossing some apples from Twilight's basket.

"It's not very productive if you keep tossing some apples out after we knocked them down from the trees, Spike," Agumon said.

"Just looking for a fresh one to eat," Spike said. He continued to look. "Nope. Nope..."

"Thank you kindly, Twilight, Tai, and Davis, for helping me out. I bet Big McIntosh I could get all these Golden Delicious in the barn by lunchtime. If I win, he's gonna walk down Stirrup Street in one of Granny's girdles," Applejack chuckled. Davis also chuckled.

"I wouldn't want to pass up the chance to see Big Mac in a dress," Davis said, chuckling.

"Same here. Matt and the rest would pay big money to see that," Tai said.

"No problem at all, Applejack. I'm glad the goal is lunchtime. All this hard work is making me hungry," Twilight said.

"I know, right?" Spike asked.

A tossed apple hits Twilight along the head. She turns around with a glare, as Spike smiled apologetically.

"Puh-lease, Spike," Twilight groaned. "You've been lounging on my back all morning while we worked," Twilight said.

"Exactly. You two are taking so long, I missed snack-time," Spike said.

"I don't think I ever missed a snack-time in my whole life," Veemon said.

"Well, that's because you've been eating candy from Yolei's family's convenient store ever since you came back with us," Davis said.

"And In-Training Digimon can be such bottomless pits. If I had to feed Agumon as a Koromon, he'd be eating us out of house and home," Tai said.

"And I wouldn't be able to help myself," Agumon retorted.

Twilight smiled as her stomach grumbles.

"Eh, I guess we better get some food," Twilight said, as she laughed nervously. Spike kept digging for a good apple.

"Nope. Worm. A-ha!" Spike exclaimed, holding up a shiny red apple.Twilight could feel her mouth water at the very sight of the fruit in Spike's claws.

"Oh Spike, that looks delicious!" Twilight said. She was so eager to have a bite when Spike wolfed it down in one bite. "Spike!"

"What?" Spike asked.

"You could have shared that with her. That would have been considerate of you," Veemon said. Spike gave a sheepish grin when he gave out a large belch. Twilight ducked as a green flame left his mouth and a rolled-up scroll appears before the ponies, Digimon, and dragon.

"It's a letter from Princess Celestia," Twilight said.

"What could she want to say to her?" Veemon asked.

"Probably to check on her," Tai said. Spike unrolls the scroll and clears his throat.

Spike read, "Hear ye, hear ye. Her Grand Royal Highness, Princess Celestia of Equestria, is pleased to announce the Grand Galloping Gala to be held in the magnificent capital city of Canterlot, on the 21st day of, eh, yadda yadda yadda, cordially extends an invitation to Twilight Sparkle plus one guest."

"The Grand Galloping Gala!" Twilight and Applejack exclaimed happily.

"The Grand Galloping Gala?" Davis asked.

"What's the Grand Galloping Gala?" Agumon asked.

Twilight and Applejack both gasped in surprise and shock.

"You mean you don't know what the Grand Galloping Gala is?!" Twilight exclaimed in shock. She took Agumon with her magic and shook him. "How could you not know what the Grand Galloping Gala is?! The most important event in Equestria?!"

"Maybe because we're not from Equestria, Twilight," Tai said.

"Oh right. But still..." Twilight said.

"The Grand Galloping Gala!" Twilight and Applejack both said in unison. Twilight and Applejack were hopping about, Spike just looked indignant. He stuck a finger in his mouth until he burped again, as two tickets appears.

"Look, two tickets," Spike said, holding the tickets.

"Wow, great! I've never been to the gala. Have you, Spike?" Twilight asked.

"No, and I plan to keep it that way. I don't want any of that girly frilly frou-frou nonsense," Spike said.

"Girly frilly frou-frou?" Veemon asked.

"Sounds like something Mimi would love to go to," Tai said. He, Agumon, Davis, and Veemon chuckled.

"Aw, come on Spike. A dance would be nice," Twilight said.

"Nice? It's a heap good more than just nice. I'd love to go," Applejack said.

"It's that improtant to you, isn't it, AJ?" Davis asked.

"More than you think, Davis! Land sakes..."

As Applejack spoke, a dream sequence displayed a long line of Canterlot ponies as far as the eye could see. They all came together with bags of bits, more than enough to purchase all the apples and various apple goods the cow pony could sell.

"If I had an apple stand set up, ponies would be chowin' our tasty vittles 'til the cows came home. Do you have any idea how much business I could drum up for Sweet Apple Acres? Why, with all that money, we could do a heap of fixin' up 'round here. We could replace that saggy old roof, and Big McIntosh could replace that saggy old plow, and Granny Smith could replace that saggy old hip."

Visions of run-down items instantly became brand new, a roof that made the whole farmhouse in solid shape and a plow as shiny and clean as a whistle. Then, there was Granny Smith, walking with a stretcher, until 'POOF!' her mane is fixed up, her expression is energetic, and with a swish of her newly repaired hip, she starts dancing and bucking like a young school filly again.

We come back to reality.

"Why, I'd give my left hind leg to go to that gala," Applejack said.

"Oh, well in that case, would you like to-" Twilight's question was cut when Rainbow Dash fell out from the sky.

"Ugh," Rainbow Dash groaned. She quickly hop back into the air, while the others were still crouched onto the ground. "Are we talking about the Grand Galloping Gala?"

"Rainbow Dash. You told me you were too busy to help me harvest apples. What were you busy doing? Spyin'?" Applejack asked accusingly.

"No, I was busy napping," Rainbow Dash said. Tai, Davis, Agumon, and Veemon saw a blanket and a pillow up in a tree branch.

"How could someone get comfy sleeping up in a tree? Not counting Gatomon," Tai said.

-"and I just happened to hear that you have an extra ticket."

"Yeah, but..."

"YES! This is so awesome. The Wonderbolts perform at the Grand Galloping Gala every year," Rainbow Dash said.

"They do?" Davis asked.

"What's a Wonderbolt?' Tai asked.

"They're these peagsus fliers that does all kinds of stuff. Rainbow Dash explained it to TK and Ken when they were helping out for the Summer Sun Celebration," Davis explained.

"Okay, I get it, I think," Tai said.

"I can see it now..." Rainbow Dash started.

A picture in her mind showed Rainbow Dash in her moment of glory. A Wonderbolts display was just underway when the audience gasped. Before their very eyes, Rainbow Dash appears from the sky.

"Everyone would be watching the sky," Rainbow explained, between scenes. "Their eyes riveted on the Wonderbolts, but then in would fly Rainbow Dash!"

Over the cheering crowd, Rainbow Dash performs one of her signature maneuvers before the eyes of the ponies.

"I would draw their attention with my Super Speed Strut," Rainbow continued. "Then I would mesmerize 'em with my Fantastic Filly Flash. And for my grand finale, the Buccaneer Blaze! The ponies would go wild!"

In her fantasy, Rainbow Dash performed all those maneuvers perfectly, although the Buccaneer Blaze is not seen. Still, the ponies cheered for her wildly and even the three Wonderbolts' jaws dropped.

"The Wonderbolts would insist that my signature moves be incorporated into their routine, and then welcome me as their newest member."

By the end of her fantasy, Rainbow Dash shakes hooves with all three Wonderbolts. Before long, she soon donned her very own Wonderbolt uniform, flying and racing with them into the clear blue sky.

"Don't you see, Twilight? This could be my one chance to show 'em my stuff. You gotta take me!" Rainbow Dash said.

Rainbow was suddenly interrupted by a tug against her tail, which brought her down to the ground.

"Hold on just one pony pickin' minute here," Applejack said with a hard spit. "I asked for that ticket first."

"So? That doesn't mean you own it," Rainbow Dash argued.

"Oh, yeah? Well I challenge you to a hoof-wrestle. Winner gets the ticket," Applejack challenged.

The two ponies find a nearby stump and began to groan loudly trying to out-stretch each other. This didn't go on for long when Tai shoved them apart.

"AJ, Rainbow, come on! They're Twilight's twickets, so don't you think it'll be best if you just wait until she makes up her mind on who gets it?

"Tai's right girls, these are my tickets, I'll decide who gets it, thank you very much. Whoever has the best reason to go should get the ticket, don't you think?" Twilight asked.

"Okay, which one of you has the best reason to go?" Davis asked.

"Drummin' up business for the farm?" Applejack proposed.

"A chance to audition for the Wonderbolts?" Rainbow Dash proposed.

"Money t' fix Granny's hip," Applejack proposed.

"Living the dream," Rainbow Dash proposed.

Hearing all those reasons at once, Twilight was getting nervous.

"Oh my, those were all pretty good reasons, aren't they?" Twilight asked.

"They're your tickets, Twilight, so which one gets the ticket?" Tai asked. Twilight didn't know what to say about that. Her stomach then starts to rumble.

"Listen to that, I am starving," Twilight nervously said. "I don't know about you, but I can't make important decisions on an empty stomach, so I'll, uh, think about it over lunch and get back to you two, okay?"

"Okay," Applejack and Rainbow Dash groaned. They glared at each other and went back to their hoof wrestling.

"Shouldn't we try to stop them, Tai?" Agumon asked.

"I don't think we could if we wanted to," Tai said.

Meanwhile over to a huge house, Mayor Mare decided to have the DigiDestined occupy it since it was like a boarding house. Sora and Biyomon stepped out to have some fresh air. Biyomon noticed Twilight and Spike having a stroll.

"Hey, Twilight. How did helping out Applejack go?" Sora asked.

"It went swimmingly. Just on my way to have some lunch," Twilight said. Biyomon noticed some gold tickets in Spike's claws.

"What's that you're holding, Spike?" Biyomon asked.

"Oh these? These are tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala. Princess Celestia sent them over here to Twilight, plus a guest," Spike said.

"The Grand Galloping Gala? What's that?" Sora asked.

"The Grand Galloping Gala is an event that Princess Celestia hosts every year in Canterlot. Ponies gather there to take part in the festivities," Twilight explained.

"Sounds like something that rich people would enjoy," Sora said.

"There's one thing wrong. I can't decide who I should give the extra ticket to," Twilight said.

"Who asked for it?" Biyomon asked.

"So far it was Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Applejack thought of putting up her own apple stand to give to ponies; Rainbow Dash wanted it to be a chance to audition for the Wonderbolts," Spike said.

"They both have good reasons to go, but I don't know who to choose," Twilight said.

"Well, you should make your decision and soon, Twilight. One of them should realize that they can't always get what they want," Sora said. Twilight thought for a moment as he stomach grumbled. "I could treat you for a meal if you want, Twilight." Twilight smiled.

"Thank you, Sora," Twilight said.

They strolled down the streets of Ponyville.

"So, who you gonna give the ticket to, Twilight?" Spike asked.

"I don't know Spike, but I really can't think straight when I'm hungry, so where should we eat?" Twilight asked.

"There's this place I found earlier, so it should be a good start," Sora said.

Just then, TK and Kari are strolling down the streets of Ponyville along with Patamon and Gatomon.

"Hey, Sora, Twilight, Spike," TK greeted.

"Hi TK, Kari. Where are you two heading?" Sora asked.

"Just a place Sora found earlier. We thought it'd be a good idea to try it out," Kari said.

"I'm willing to try anything," Gatomon said.

"You do know that ponies don't eat fish, don't you?" Patamon reminded the cat-like Digimon.

"You can join us if you want, Twilight," TK said.

"That's really kind of you," Twilight said. "But, you're not just trying to butter me up for the extra ticket are you?"

"What Ticket?" TK asked.

"Tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala. Twilight's trying to figure out which one to give the extra ticket to," Spike explained.

"Is that right?" Patamon asked.

"Twilight has a hard time on who to give the extra ticket to, Applejack or Rainbow Dash," Sora said.

"Which one of them has the good enough to go?" Kari asked.

"Applejack and Rainbow Dash both has good reasons to go, but Twilight can't decide," Biyomon said.

Suddenly, Pinkie Pie barreled into Twilight and Spike. at high speed. The quick impact made the tickets float from Spike's hands and landed right on Pinkie's nose.

"Twilight, Spike, are you okay?" Kari asked.

"I'm okay," Twilight responded. Pinkie opened her eyes.

"Gah!" Pinkie shouted, dashing around. "Bats! Bats on my face! Help!"

"Pinkie, calm down, there aren't any bats here," Sora told the pink earth pony.

In the midst of her excitement, Pinkie Pie came to a stop when she noticed the front of the tickets, looking very closely.

"Wait, these aren't... tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed happily with stars in her eyes.

This time, they were all drawn into Pinkie's mind, as she imagined the Grand Gala as one big party, with all the wonderful things she could imagine.

"It's the most amazing incredible tremendous super-fun wonderful terrifically humongous party in all of Equestria! I've always always always wanted to go!"

[Pinkie Pie]

Oh the Grand Galloping Gala is the best place for me

Oh the Grand Galloping Gala is the best place for me

Hip hip

Hooray!

It's the best place for me

For Pinkie...

And the party pony kept ranting between lyrics, just as she normally would:

"With decorations like streamers and fairy-lights and pinwheels and piñatas and pin-cushions. With goodies like sugar cubes and sugar canes and sundaes and sun-beams and sarsaparilla. And I get to play my favorite-est of favorite fantabulous games like Pin the Tail on the Pony!"

[Pinkie Pie]

Oh the Grand Galloping Gala is the best place for me

Oh the Grand Galloping Gala is the best place for me

'Cause it's the most galarrific superly-terrific gala everIn the whole galaxy

Wheee!!

We come back to real life once again as TK and Kari just shrugged as they sighed.

"It's just like Pinkie to break into song in a such a moment," Kari said.

"It sure is," TK, Patamon, and Gatomon all agreed.

"Oh thank you, Twilight, it's the most wonderful-est gift ever," Pinkie Pie said.

"Um, actually-" Twilight tried to explain.

A pony startled Spike from behind. He turns to see it was just Rarity the fashionista from the Carousel Boutique.

"Are these what I think they are?" Rarity said.

"Looks like she wants to go, too," Biyomon said.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Pinkie answered. "Twilight's taking me to the Grand Galloping Gala in Canterlot."

"The gala?" Rarity questioned. "I design ensembles for the gala every year, but I've never had the opportunity to attend. Oh, the society, the culture, the glamour! It's where I truly belong, and where I'm destined to meet him."

"Him?" Sora and Biyomon asked.

"Him?" Kari asked.

"Him?" Patamon and Gatomon asked.

"Him who?" TK asked.

"Him," Rarity said.

Rarity soon imagined herself at the Gala, all eyes from every pony were upon Rarity, in a beautiful golden yellow dress. She slowly marches down the aisle, approaching the regal Princess Celestia in all her glory.

"I would stroll through the gala, and everyone would wonder, 'Who is that mysterious mare?'. They would never guess that I was just a simple pony from little old Ponyville."

Before the Princess, Rarity bows before her and she seems quite pleased with the display.

"Why, I would cause such a sensation that I would be invited for an audience with Princess Celestia herself," Rarity continued. "And the Princess would be so taken by the style and elegance that she would introduce me to 'him', her nephew: The most handsome eligible unicorn stallion in Canterlot: Prince Blueblood."

As Celestia stepped aside, there beside her was the 'eligible unicorn stallion'. With alluring light brilliant arctic blue eyes, his perfectly combed light amber mane feathered and lethal, with the front of a tux with a white flower and matching blue bow tie along the light grayish coat, with a compass rose for a Cutie Mark. Indeed, the way he posed and the way he smiled, he looked like a fairy tale prince come to life.

The two unicorns soon dance regally together amidst the sea of the high-class ponies in attendance. This goes on until he bends on one knee, offering her the most beautiful diamond ever crafted for a mare of such flare.

"Our eyes would meet, our hearts would melt," Rarity said dreamily. "Our courtship would be 'magnificent'! He would ask for my hoof in marriage, and of course I would say, 'Yes!'"

The last scene shows Rarity and the stallion upon the altar, all the ponies in Equestria gathering to bear witness to holy matrimony. The perfect wedding for the perfect bride and her perfect groom.

"We would have a royal wedding, befitting a princess, which is…" Rarity giggled. "… What I would become upon marrying 'him', the stallion of my dreams."

"I didn't know Celestia has a nephew," TK said.

"Niether did I until now. How does Celestia have a nephew?" Kari asked.

"Don't ask me," Twilight said.

"Do you at least know some things about him?" TK asked.

"Yeah, do you?" Patamon added

"I never met Prince Blueblood before, but I have some things about him," Twilight said.

"Rarity must be head-over-heels for him," Sora said.

"Prince Blueblood is actually a snob. He's not the most princely prince you would meet," Spike whispered.

"Twilight, I simply cannot believe you would invite Pinkie Pie so she can...party, and prevent me from meeting my true love. How could you?" Rarity asked, feeling hurt. "Hmph."

Rarity turned her head with a huff. Before Twilight could answer, Spike noticed a white bunny come up and snatch the tickets from his claws.

"Hey!" Spike called out.

But the bunny had already dashed away, straight towards… Fluttershy. He climbs upon her head, presenting the tickets from above which made her gasp.

"Angel, these are perfect," Fluttershy said.

"Uh, listen guys, I haven't decided who to give the extra ticket to," Twilight said.

Rarity and Pinkie Pie asked, "You haven't?"

Fluttershy gently spoke up, "Um, excuse me, Twilight. I would just like to ask, I mean, if it would be all right, if you haven't given it to someone else..."

"You? You want to go to the gala?" Rarity asked.

"Oh, no," Fluttershy said as Angel taps his feet on Fluttershy. "I mean, yes, or, actually, kind of," Fluttershy said.

"Is there a reason you wanna go, Fluttershy?" Gatomon asked.

"You see..."

A vision of Fluttershy in a beautiful garden takes the scene. An abundance of colorful flowers not often seen by the ponies beyond the castle. Not to mention the assortment of wondrous critters that appeared and gathered all around the shy yellow pegasus.

"… It's not so much the Grand Galloping Gala, as it is the wondrous private gated garden that surrounds the dance," Fluttershy explained. "The flowers are said to be the most beautiful and fragrant in all of Equestria. For the night of the gala, and that night alone, would they all be in bloom…. And that's just the flora! Don't get me started on the fauna. There's loons and toucans and bitterns, oh my! Hummingbirds that can really hum, and buzzards that can really buzz. White-blue jays, and red jays, and green jays, pink jays, and pink flamingos!"

"Gee, Fluttershy, it sounds... beautiful...?" Twilight asked unsure of herself.

"Wait just a minute!" A familiar raspy voice made Twilight, Sora, TK, Kari, and the Digimon look up, as Rainbow Dash stared down at them from the roof top of a nearby house.

"Rainbow Dash! Were you following me?" Twilight asked.

"No. I mean, yes. I mean, maybe," Rainbiw Dash stumbled. "Look, it doesn't matter. I couldn't risk a goody-four-shoes like you giving that ticket away to just anybody."

"Wait just another minute!" Applejack called out, approaching Twilight.

"Applejack, were you following me too?" Twilight asked.

"No. I was followin' this one to make sure she didn't try any funny business. Still trying to take mah ticket," Applejack said.

"Your ticket?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"But Twilight's taking me!" Pinkie argued.

The rest of the Mane Six were arguing with each other over the ticket.

"This is getting out of control," Patamon said.

"Even my parents didn't argue this bad," TK commented.

The rest of the DigiDestined and the Digimon could all hear the commotion and went to hear what they were arguing about. Only Tai, Davis, and their partners knew what it was about.

"Don't tell me... they all wanna go," Tai said.

"Go where?" Matt asked.

"The Grand Galloping Gala. It's some party that the Princess hosts every year," Tai said.

"Is that what's got them so worked up?" Gomamon asked.

"It doesn't look like they're making it any easier for her," Izzy said.

Their voices grew louder and louder, nearly smothering the two unicorns before Twilight had enough.

"QUIET!" Twilight screamed as she stood on her hind legs.

"And then I said, "Oatmeal, are you craz—" Pinkie Pie paused when realized everyone stopped arguing. "Oh."

"Girls, there's no use in arguing," Twilight stated.

"But Twilight," Rarity tried to protest.

"Eh! This is my decision, and I'm gonna make it on my own, and I certainly can't think straight with all this noise," Twilight stated as her stomach rumbled, "not to mention hunger. Now go on, shoo!" The rest of the Mane Six all walked or flew as they grumbled.

"And don't worry, I'll figure this out..." Twilight said. But the mares had already disappeared, leaving Twilight alone with Spike somewhere to the side, out of sight, "somehow."

Sora walked up to Twilight.

"Come on, I believe that we promised you some lunch," Sora said.

"It'll be even more enjoyable if you joined up with us," Kari said. Davis grits his teeth as he groaned in frustration.

"Okay, let's go," Twilight said.

They all took off to have some lunch as Davis was watching them go; Kari particularly. It was obvious Davis still has feelings for Kari, so he wanted her to be his girlfriend and not TK's. Veemon looked right at his partner.

"Davis, what's the matter with you?" Veemon asked.

Davis sniffled,' "Nothing."

"I can tell when something is wrong with you, so what's wrong?" Veemon asked.

"Nothing, okay?!" Davis took off.

"Davis!" Veemon called out.

"Isn't Davis ever going to get over it?" Yolei asked.

"You mean, he's still got it bad for Kari?" Joe asked.

"It looks like it to me," Mimi said.

"You think he's ever going to get over her?" Ken asked.

"I highly doubt it, Ken," Cody said.

"Davis," Veemon said with worry for his partner.

Twilight, Sora, TK, Kari, and their Digimon partners all arrived to the cafe. Gatomon saw that the menu had no fish on it, so she decided to go do some fishing. Patamon and Biyomon went to join her.

Upon arrival, Twilight couldn't relax, not with the most important decision on her mind. Twilight was slouching on her sea. Sora, TK, and Kari, were looking through the menus to see what kind of food they had.

"So, what sounds good to you, Kari?" TK asked.

"I'm thinking of going with this," Kari said, pointing to the menu.

"Guys, what am I gonna do?" Twilight asked, worried. Using her magic, she pulls the petals off one of the table flowers. "All five of my best friends have really good reasons to go to the gala. Applejack, or Rainbow Dash? Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy, Rarity... Oh, who should go with me?" Twilight's stomach grumbled again, as she used her tongue to eat up the petals. Sora, TK, and Kari, just watched her as their waiter approached the table.

"Have you made your decision?" The waiter asked with a French accent.

"I CAN'T DECIDE!" Twilight bellowed, sitting straight up, catching everypony's attention.

"Twilight, he just wants to take your order," Spike said.

"Oh. I would love a daffodil and daisy sandwich," Twilight said.

"I'll have a hay ball sandwich," TK said.

"I'll have one too, so we'll spit that," Kari said.

"I'll have the tomato soup," Sora said.

"Do you have any rubies? "Spike asked. The waiter looked right him with a look that says that he isn't amused. "No? Okay. I'll have the hay fries, extra crispy." Spike tossed the menu behind him as the waiter went to prepare their order.

"What do you think, Spike?" Twilight asked the dragon.

"I think we have to try another restaurant. I mean, I like grass just fine, but would it hurt anybody to offer some gemstones?" Spike asked.

"Spike, I don't think anyone would eat gems," Sora said.

"Yeah, ponies could break their teeth on those," TK said.

"Hey, I'm a dragon, so I need a steady diet of gems," Spike said.

"I read plenty of fairytales when I was little, but I never heard of dragons eating gems before," Kari said.

"I mean about the Gala and the ticket and who I should take," Twilight said.

"Oh. You're still on that?" Spike asked.

"Spike, listen. How do I choose? And when I do choose, will the other four be mad at me? I mean, I could give up my ticket and give away two, but that would still leave three disappointed ponies. What if I..." Twilight's sentence was cut when the waitor returned with their order.

"Ah, your food," the waitor announced, placing their orders on the table.

Twilight Sparkle said, "Oh thank you."

"Enjoy," the waitor said. TK and Kari saw the sandwich they were going to share and saw it was like a meatball sandwich, but only with hay. They each took a bite of their halves and they instantly liked it.

"This is great. The others should try this," Kari said.

"I was thinking the same thing," TK said.

"This looks so good. I'm sure everything will be much clearer once I eat," Twilight said. Twilight was about to take a bite when other ponies galloped passed them and into the indoor section of the café. Twilight and three of the DigiDestined were confused.

"Hey, where's everyone going?" TK asked.

[ponies galloping]

"Em, madams, monsieur? Are you going to eat your food in ze rain?" The waiter asked.

"What are you talking about?" TK asked.

"It's not raining..." Twilight paused. A thunderclap caused the unicorn, dragon, and DigiDestined to look around, noticing how everywhere, minus their table, was getting a large downpour.

"What's going on?" Twilight asked.

"Took the words right out of my mouth," Sora said.

"Did a weather pony mess up and make it rain here by mistake?" Kari asked.

It was then, in a small hole in the clouds, a very familiar blue pegasus appeared.

"Hi there, best friends forever I've ever ever had," Rainbow Dash greeted sweetly. "Enjoying the sunny weather?"

"Rainbow Dash, what are you doing?" Twilight asked.

"Whaddya mean?" Rainbow Dash replied innocently. "I just saw the smartest, most generous pony about to get rained on, so I thought I'd kick a hole in the clouds to keep her dry so she could dine in peace, that's all."

"Rainbow, you're not trying to get extra consideration for the extra ticket by doing me extra special favors, are you?" Twilight asked.

Me? No no no, of course not," Rainbow Dash replied.

"Uh-huh," Twilight remarked.

"Sure you are," Kari said.

"Seriously, I'd do it for anypony," Rainbow Dash said.

Just then, the other ponies were running to find cover and failing miserably. They look toward Rainbow Dash, clearly seeing that the seen exposed her bluff.

"Then what about the ponies trying desperately trying to get out of the rain to stay dry?' Sora asked. Rainbow Dash gulped as she chuckled nervously.

"Rainbow, I am not comfortable accepting unwanted favors, so I'd appreciate it if you close up that rain cloud right now," Twilight said.

"Ugh, fine," Rainbow Dash pouted as she zipped up the cloud. With that done, Sora, TK, and Kari all ran inside to prevent themselves getting wet.

"That's better," Twilight said, pleased with herself. Twilight and her sandwich was soaked from the oncoming downpour. Both Twilight groaned in agitation.

Spike covered his mouth trying not to laugh, having already finished his food. Just then, Rarity arrived carrying a large purple umbrella.

"Twilight, it's raining," Rarity plainly said.

"No, really?" Asked with a hint of sarcasm.

"Come with me before you catch a cold," Rarity said, grabbing her.

The DigiDestined inside watched as they sighed.

"What do you think Rarity has in mind for her, you two?" Sora asked with a suspicious tone.

"Probably try to bribe her twith a new outfit," Kari said.

"I was thinking the same thing," TK said.

Over at the house they were staying in, the rest of the DigiDestined were cooped up inside the house with their Digimon partners.

"What's going on here? One minute it was bright and sunny, and the next it's all rainy and gloomy," Tentomon said.

"I didn't think it was possible for weather to be manipulated, but after being here for a short time, I'm quite curious about other things work here in Equestria," Izzy said.

"I hope it doesn't rain for too long," Cody said.

Over at Carousel Boutique, Twilight shook the water off her coat and mane. Once dry, she looked as sharp as ever…. Rarity, got soaked to the bone from all the shaking about and glared at her.

"Heh heh, oops, sorry," Twilight apologized.

"Oh no, it's quite all right," Rarity replied. After all, we are..." Suddenly, Rarity was completely dry and nuzzled Twilight's side. "...the best of friends, are we not? And you know what the best of friends do."

"Uh..."

"Makeovers!" Rarity exclaimed.

Rarity shoved a dressing screen in front of her and Twilight, knocking Spike aside as Rarity roughly dressed up Twilight.

"Ugh, Rarity, ow, this really isn't fixing i!" Twilight exclaimed. "I mean, thank you but, ooh, that's too tight."

As the screen was removed, Twilight was fitted in a glittery little dress.

"There," Rarity proudly said. "Oh, you're simply darling."

"Uh, yeah, it is kinda pretty, isn't it?" Twilight asked.

Twilight just blushed and smiled back. Spike made a face, sticking his finger in his mouth. Rarity rushed into him, causing him to stick his entire claw inside his mouth.

"And you. Oh Spike, I have a dandy little outfit for the dashing gent," Rarity said.

Spike tried to get away, but Rarity uses her magic to pull him in. The sounds of crashing, construction noises are heard.

"D-ah, ow, oh, hey, wow, watch it, whoa!" Spike cried.

Once the screen had moved, Spike was dressed in a very traditional renaissance style blue suit with a blonde wig.

Twilight Sparkle giggled, "Oh, Spike."

"Now you just need a hat," Rarity said, plopping a black hat on his head.

"Ugh, I told you, I don't want any part of this girly gala gunk. See you back at the library!" Spike said.

The baby dragon quickly dashed right out of his clothes and out the boutique.

Rarity: laughed, "Oh, who needs him anyway. This is all about you, and how fabulous you'll look at the Grand Galloping Gala." As the fashionista brought a mirror, Twilight just looked at herself contently. "This is all aboutyou, and how fabulous you two will look at the Grand Galloping Gala."

Twilight soon realized that Rarity was trying to butter her up just like Rainbow Dash did.

"Wait, the Grand-" Before Tilight could finish her sentence, Rairty gasped.

"And oh, my goodness, what a coincidence. I happen to have an ensemble of my own that matches yours to a T," Rarity said. Rarity soon held Twilight close as they gazed into the mirror before the fashionista took full dominance of the reflection. "We would be the belles of the ball, you and I. Everyone would be clamoring for our attention. All eyes would be on us, and then everyone would finally know, the most beautiful, most talented, most sophisticated pony in all of Equestria is Rarity the unicorn. Ah," Rarity chuckled nervously when she saw Twilight was giving her a death glare, "and Twilight Sparkle, of course."

"I see what's going on. You're just buttering me up so I give you the extra ticket. Well it's not gonna work. You're going to have to wait for my decision just like everyone else," Twilight said, tossing off her clothes and back to her regular appearence. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've been trying all day just to get some lunch."

She just turned to the open-door Spike left through, when suddenly.

"Did somepony say lunch?" Applejack asked. Applejack grabbed Twilight and pulled her outside. She landed in front of a wooden wagon loaded with various apple treats.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Twilight exclaimed.

"I got apple pie, apple fritters, apple tarts, apple dumplings, apple crisps, apple crumblers, and apple Brown Betty," Applejack listed, showing Twilight the dessert. "Uh, the dessert, not my auntie. What do you say there, best friend?"

Twilight's stomach grumbles as well as Twilight could feel her temper going up.

"Is that a yes?"

"No. No," Twilight snapped, making Applejack drop the last dish. I don't know who I'm giving the ticket to, and all these favors aren't making it any easier to decide. In fact, I'm less sure now than I was this morning. Ugh!"

Groaning, the lavender unicorn high tail out of there. Applejack just looked stunned as they took off.

"So, that's a maybe?" Applejack asked.

"That didn't look like a maybe to me," a voice spoke. It belonged to Joe. He and Gomamon were standing there. "Don't you think you're putting too much pressure on her?" Joe asked. Applejack just looked at the oldest member of the DigiDestined.

"What in the hay do ya mean, Joe?" Applejack asked.

"You, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash has been making it hard for her," Joe said. Applejack was about to ask how he knows about that when Joe spoke up. "Sora told me. I don't think bribing her with food or new clothes will do anything to make up her mind." Applejack thought about what Joe had told her.

It was a short while before Twilight had a moment to calm down. At least enough to get back to the Grand Oak Library. But it was clear that she was frustrated and stressed out after a long day.

"Ugh, I never thought being showered with favors would be so aggravating," Twilgiht groaned as Yolei stepped out.

"I wouldn't go in for if I were you!" Yolei said.

"And why shouldn't I go in here? I live here," Twilight reminded Yolei. She opened the door and sees Fluttershy inside, humming a sweet tune and cleaning up with some her bird friends.

"That's why," Yolei deadpanned.

Twilight gasped, "Fluttershy, not you too?"

"Oh, well, hello, Twilight," Fluttershy greeted. "I hope you don't mind, but we're all doing a little spring cleaning for you.

"It's summer," Twilight, Yolei, and Hawkmon all said in unison.

"Oh, well, better late than never, right? It was Angel's idea," Fluttershy said.

The little bunny smiled, continuing to toss a salad nearby.

"You're not doing this for the ticket, are you?" Twilight asked.

"Oh no, I'm doing this because you're my very best friend. Right, Angel?" Fluttershy asked. The white bunny gave her a look that says differently. "Oh, yes, we are just doing this for the ticket."

"No, no, no!" Twilight excalimed.

"Fluttershy, I don't want to lose my temper with you, but this isn't going to go smoothly for Twilight," Yolei said.

"Well, this was all very nice of you and Angel, but I'm not accepting any extra favors until I've made my final decision, so I'm going to have to ask you to leave," Twilight said.

Twilight opened the door when a huge burst of confetti blasted through the door.

"SURPRISE!"

"Oh dear," Hawkmon said.

Between shouts from the ponies and the trumpets blowing outside, Yolei and Hawkmon knew what was coming. Twilight was whisked away and tossed up and down by a bunch of random ponies, while Pinkie began to sing…Again.

[Pinkie Pie]

Twilight is my bestest friend

Whoopie, whoopie!

"Pinkie..."

[Pinkie Pie]

She's the cutest, smartest, all around best pony, pony!

"Pinkie."

[Pinkie Pie]

I bet if I throw a super-duper fun party, party!

"Pinkie!"

[Pinkie Pie]

She'll give her extra ticket to the Gala to me!

"PIIINKIIIE!!" Twilight shouted so loudly, the ponies broke away and sent her landing hard on the ground. Twilight lands on her back.

"Yes, Twilight?" Pinkie Pie asked, batting her eyes.

"At least the other poniestriedto be subtle about the ticket!" Twilight told Pinkie.

"Wait, what ticket? What gala?" A mare asked.

"Oh, you didn't know? Twilight has an extra ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala!" Pinkie said.

"The Grand Galloping Gala?" All the mares all exclaimed.

"Uh-oh," Yolei and Hawkmon both said.

"Have I ever told you how much I love your mane?"

"I'll wash your dishes."

Soon they began suggesting favors left-and-right, as Spike managed to swoop in and help Twilight slip out the crowd. Unfortunately, they were stopped by another mare.

"Would you like any help with your gardening?"

She tried to get away, but another stopped her.

"I have a cartload of extra carrots."

"I'll paint your cart."

The crowd swamped all over her.

"What are we gonna do?" Spike asked.

"We're... gonna...run!" Twilight shouted as she and Spike

Twilight jumped high in the air, dashing away at top speed with the mob in hot pursuit.

On cue, some Benny-Hill style music plays as Twilight ran for dear life trying to escape the crowd, while Spike held onto Twilight from behind. They tried just about everything just to get away.

First, they behind the cart with all the apple treats. They watch the mob rush past while they hid, only to be spotted by a pony from the window and another pony popping out of the cart. Soon, they were running again as the mob raced after them, even knocking one towns-pony aside.

They passed by an elderly mare with a stroller slowly walks down the street as the mob of ponies dashed past them. But it turns out to be Twilight dressed in a blue cloak and and Spike… Dressed as a baby, with a binky in his mouth.

The DigiDestined assisted Twilight in the run from the mares. When the crowd approached Ken, he just shrugged did Wormmon.

Twilight and Spike hid under a bride and held on underneath Spike fell right into the water below. The DigiDestined got Twilight pose as mannequins with Twilight as a clown and Spike dressed like a hula girl with a coconut bikini top. As soon as they were gone, Twilight and Spike dashed right out.

Twilight, Spike, and the DigiDestined all tried some places, but the mares just found them again. Mimi and Palmon pushed Twilight on a cart full of pinapples as Matt and Gabumon came runing out a door with the mares chasing them. Cody came running out with Armadillomon riding on his back. Biyomon flew out with Hawkmon, Tentomon, and Patamon behind her. Tai, Izzy, and Matt came out with Joe being on the bottom and Tai on the top. Agumon, Veemon, and Gomamon came out one area. Veemon went one way, so Agumon gave a whistle and gestured him to their way. Veemon casually came strolling their way. Ken and Izzy came rolling in as a cartwheel as Yolei, Sora, and Kari came out with a rope of flowers tied to them.Twilight, Spike, and the DigiDestined all came out with the mares spotting them. TK and Kari dressed up as an elderly couple. When they asked which way they went, TK and Kari pointed to their left, so they went left. They knew it wouldn't be long until they turn back around.

Soon, they ran until they were backed into a corner, as all the ponies approached shouting favor after favor at them.

"I'll do your taxes!"

"Okay, running didn't work, so what do you have planned next, Twilight?" Mimi asked.

"Just one thing," Twilight said.

Twilight's horn glows brighter and brighter. She, the DigiDestined, Spike, and the Digimon all vanished, confusing the mares.

They teleport back to the Golden Oaks Library.

"Ugh... Warn me next time you're gonna do that," Spike groaned.

"I didn't even know it was gonna happen. Now quick, lock the doors!" Twilight said.

Soon enough, they started to turn off the lights and lock the doors, leaving Twilight, Spike, the DigiDestined, and the Digimon all alone. Or so they thought...

The lights come back on as they spotted Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash stared down at them, all smiles on their faces, near a high window.Twilight has had enough.

"Yaaaargh!" Twilight screamed. "I can't decide, I just can't decide! It's important to all of you and I just can't stand to disappoint any of you, and giving me gifts and doing me favors won't make any difference, because you're all my friends and I wanna make you all happy and I can't, I just can't!"

Applejack walked up to Twilight with a sorry look on her face.

"Twilight, sugar, I didn't mean to put so much pressure on you, and if it helps, I don't want the ticket anymore. You can give it to somepony else. I won't feel bad, I promise," Applejack said.

"Me too. I feel just awful that I made you feel so awful," Fluttershy said.

"And me too. It's no fun upsetting your friends," Pinkie said.

"Twilight," Rarity joined in. "It was unfair of me to try and force you as I did."

"Yes! That means the ticket is mine. Ha-ha!" Rainbow said, before singing and dancing in midair. "I got the ticket; I got the ticket—"

Rainbow soon stopped when Applejack, Fluttershy, and the DigiDestined all shot her a dirty look. Twilight only looked up. Yet both she was still crouched and her forehooves still covered her head.

"Really, Rainbow Dash?" Matt asked.

"You know," Rainbow said sheepishly. "I haven't perfected my signature moves for the Wonderbolts anyway. I don't need that ticket either."

"We all got so gun-ho about going to the gala that we couldn't see how un-gun-ho we were making you," Applejack pointed out.

"We're sorry, Twilight," The five mares said, in unison.

Twilight, slightly better, looked at the DigiDestined.

"Have you made up your mind, Twilight?" Davis asked.

"Yes, Davis, I have. Spike take down a note," Twilight instructed.

Spike grabs a sheet of paper and a quill. Twilight proceeds to speak aloud, as she picked up the three tickets with her magic.

"Dear Princess Celestia,

I've learned that one of the joys of friendship is sharing your blessings, but when there's not enough blessings to go around, having more than your friends can make you feel pretty awful. So, though I appreciate the invitation, we will be returning both of the tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala."

"What?!" The other five mares exclaimed, in shock.

"If my friends can't all go," Twilight concluded "I don't wanna go either."

The other ponies, still in shock over the decision, felt worse about everything.

"Twilight, you don't have to do that," Applejack protested.

"Nope, I made up my mind," Twilight said, "Spike, you can send the letter now."

Spike released a green flame that ate up the letter, sending it on its way.

"At least we don't have to worry about some mares chasing after us for the ticket," Ken said.

"I'm pretty tired from all the running we've been doing," Wormmon said.

"I think I burned off a few calories," Armadillomon said.

"So did I," Gabumon said.

"You sure you wanted to do that, Twilight?" Cody asked.

"Now you won't get to go to the gala either," Fluttershy said.

"It's okay, everypony. I couldn't possibly enjoy myself without my best friends there with me..." Twilight said. "...So I'd rather not go at all." The Mane Six all moved in for a hug.

"That's a good way to make up, isn't it?" Gomamon asked.

"It's pretty sweet," Mimi added.

"It sure is," Palmon agreed.

The DigiDestined and the Digimon all smiled. Spike gave a began making faces as if he were grossed out. At least, that's how Applejack interpreted his grunts.

"Well wallop my withers, Spike. Isn't that just like a boy, excluding Tai, Davis, and the other boys? Can't handle the least bit of sentiment," Applejack scolded as Spike gave off a large burp.

"Fire in the hole!" Davis yelled.

"Whoa Nelly!" Applejack exclaimed.

She barely missed getting singed by the green flame Spike spat out between her blonde mane and Stenson hat. The flame turns into another letter.

"Next time, warn us if you going to do that, Spike!" Matt said.

"Yeah, you can hurt someone with that!" Gabumon added.

"A letter from the princess? That was fast," Twilight said.

"What does Princess Celestia have to say?" Sora asked.

Spike proceeds to open the letter and reads the contents aloud.

"My faithful student Twilight, Why didn't you just say so in the first place?" Spike read. The DigiDestined and the Digimon all rolled their eyes. Spike find tickets for each of the Mane Six and the DigiDestined. "Eighteen tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala!"

The Mane Six and the DigiDestined all gasped in surprise.

"Now we can all go!" Twilight exclaimed happily.

"I'm surprised that the Princess is inviting us all to the gala," TK said.

"As am I. It wouldn't be right to turn down an invitation, especially that we came here to assist anyway we can," Izzy said.

The Mane Six all cheered.

"Since we're going, that means TK and Kari will be going in as a couple," Mimi said, making TK and Kari blush.

"How long did you know?" TK and Kari asked,

"I kinda knew from the start," Applejack said. "I've seen the way you looked at each other."

TK and Kari both blushed as Patamon and Gatomon smiled for their partners.

"So, what about the rest of you?" Fluttershy asked.

"I think TK and Kari are the only couple of the team. It wouldn't be true if Matt and Sora were still dating," Davis said.

"Davis!" The other DigiDestined chided him.

"Oops," Davis sheepishly said.

"It's okay, guys. Like we sad, it wouldn't have worked out between us anyway," Matt said.

Twilight's stomach rumbles again, making her laugh nervously.

"Allow us to treat you to dinner," Rarity said.

"What a great way to apologize," Rainbow Dash added

"And to celebrate! Come on everyone, the cupcakes are on me!" Pinkie Pie said.

"Yay! Cupcakes!" Veemon cheered.

Each pony collected their ticket, the lot of them hovering above their heads as they left the house. Spike held on to one extra ticket excitedly, until Applejack left. The ticket departed from Spike's head and floated above hers.

"How come I don't get a ticket to the gala?" Spike asked sadly. He gave off another burp, sending out another letter. Spike opens it and reads its contents. "And one for you and the Digimon, Spike." Spike giggles as he held out his ticket. The Digimon all got their tickets along with their partners. Spike froze when he saw Applejack looking at him and gave the baby dragon a grin. "I mean, gross, I have to go too?" Spike giggled again as did Applejack.

That night would be something they could all look forward to.
