What's that? I added a bit to Inko's quirk? Yes. Yes I did. It's still the same but just a little different, don't worry. It'll all be explained. It's logical (to me.)
Also I just want to say for this chapter. Like mother like daughter. :D
It was Mitsuki Bakugo that called Aizawa. Though, if the wild and manic sobbing in the background told Aizawa anything it was that Mitsuki was calling on Inko Midoriya's behalf. Mitsuki didn't say much over the phone just: "You should get here as soon as possible, we don't know who else to call about this. But… it's bad." Before abruptly hanging up.
That's all he and Toshinori needed in order to pack into a car and leave for Inko's apartment.
"Inko sounded beside herself in the background." Aizawa explained as he drove down the road.
"Do you think Fujiwara hit her?" Toshinori inquired, Aizawa noticed that Toshinori was gripping his own fists so hard that his knuckles were turning white. "He almost seemed like the type. You should have heard him, Aizawa. He called Izumi a brat, almost completely out of the blue. He seems the type to blame others."
"I noticed that he also likes to stick to Inko's side at all times. You saw it too. That being said: Inko denied him being an abuser. You, along with most of 1-A heard it."
"Victims have been known to defend their abusers in the past, but I do see where you're coming from. Inko wasn't the one that looked scared in that situation however, Izumi was."
"... I've… -during the training camp invasion. Izumi had two broken arms, and probably just as many broken ribs, running purely on adrenaline, on the verge of passing out, with Kota on her back. Yet, she was still smiling. Fujiwara touched her. Just a little touch that most wouldn't blink at and… she looked horrified, Yagi. Absolutely horrified."
"...I thought she was going to start crying right then and there." Toshinori confessed as the scene replayed in his head over and over. "If it weren't for her friends, she might have. Thank goodness they got her out of there."
"... " Aizawa sighed as he took all this information in.
The ride was relatively quiet after that. Aizawa seemed to be lost in his thoughts as he drove to Inko's apartment, which, thankfully, wasn't too much farther. As they pulled up to the nearest parking space the first thing Toshinori noticed was clothes. Clothes littered the street, hung in a nearby tree, and blew in the breeze on a powerline. "Uh… someone went through a break-up…" He realized with a small laugh, but the laugh died quickly once he realized that only one window was open and it was Inko's and all the clothes looked to be for a man. "Nevermind."
So, the two of them practically ran to Inko's apartment on the third floor.
When they got to her floor it was then they could hear it. Inko's borderline manic sobbing mixed with someone else was yelling. When they realized it was a man yelling, both heros booked it for Inko's apartment in record speed.
Aizawa got there first and didn't even bother checking if the door was unlocked, he simply kicked it open. "Ms. Midoriya!-" He had started to call for her as he got his scarf ready to pull Fujiwara away from her. He used his scarf to wrangle the first male he saw, but Aizawa quickly realized his mistake as he had Masaru Bakugo wrapped up in his scarf and pulled in close to him.
"Now look what you fucking did, Masaru!" Mitsuki hissed at her husband as she smacked him on the head for good measure. "I told you to calm the fuck down!"
It was then were the two of them able to take in the scene before them. Inko's apartment was trashed, like trashed. Everything from plates and cups shattered amongst the ground and countertops, to the pictures, chairs, and little things spewed all around them. Nowhere could Aizawa step without stepping on something.
Only one spot was clear… and that was where Inko sat on the floor. She was huddled in front of of her laptop. Her hands over her face as she continued to violently sob inconsolable heart-wrenching sobs. She rocked back and forth and Aizawa noticed that where she sat looked like an impact zone. Only Inko's radiance was clear of any debris.
"What the hell happened?" Toshinori demanded in a low voice. Aizawa allowed his scarf to slip from around Masaru and he reeled the fabric back.
"Inko called me in such a panic, I couldn't understand a word she was saying. When Masaru and I got here the place was already like…this…" She gestured to the disaster around them.
"Ms. Midoriya?-" Toshinori decided to risk it and take a step towards the, clearly, hysterical woman.
"No!" Both Masaru and Mitsuki grabbed Toshinori, forcing him to a halt. "We both tried." Mitsuki hissed. "You know what happened? She threw us away with her quirk."
"I don't understand, Inko Midoriya can only levitate small objects to her." Toshinori whispered.
"Under duress a quirk can expand to dangerous levels." Aizawa started to explain. The impact zone was making sense now. If he had to guess, Inko had levitated everything towards her before suddenly pushing it all away in a violent manner. But this was getting beyond dangerous if Inko was able to push people away. 'She could be subjected to quirk exhaustion if she doesn't stop. If that's the case then-' Aizawa's hair started to rise up and he felt his eyes starting to dry out as he stared at Inko. '-I'll make her stop.'
Inko never noticed that her quirk was taken from her, but they had as there was a sudden clattering from below them. Like from a floor below them. 'Had she accidently levitated stuff from downstairs to her?' Aizawa wondered.
"Someone talk to her while she's quirkless." Aizawa demanded. "Get her to calm down."
It was Mitsuki who took up the mantle on that one. All it took was a little touch on the shoulder and Inko Midoriya hugged Mitsuki tightly. Endless tears seemed to pour out of Inko's eyes as she sobbed and hiccuped.
"Do you know what caused this?" Toshinori asked Masaru. "After all, we could hear you cussing from down the hall. Surely, Inko crying couldn't have caused that… right?"
Masaru scowled as his eyebrows arched downwards. He looked rather mad, it was almost uncharacteristic of him. "I…I do…" He almost whispered as he clenched his fists and looked away from Toshinori. "I'm a mild-mannered man… I don't get angry or explode like my wife or son but… I never wanted to kill someone more in my life than I do now." Masaru whispered. Tiny harmless explosions went off in his hands.
Aizawa blinked, and when Mitsuki didn't go flying back, he figured it was safe enough to look away from Inko for a moment to look at Masaru now.
"I-I…" Inko suddenly started to gasp as she was looking at the two heros. "I'm…" she sobbed and fat tears fell from her eyes to the ground. Inko sucked in a loud breath and hiccuped. "I'm going- going-to-to kill him!" Her voice turned deep as she clenched her teeth tightly. Mitsuki kept a tight grip on Inko's arm, stopping her from going anywhere. Inko Midoriya looked absolutely feral.
"Whoa, who?" Toshinori inquired with a soft tone as he took a brazen, but also cautious, step towards Inko.
"There will be-be nothing left when I'm done. I-I-I swear it." Inko breathed out through angry gnashed teeth.
Several items nearby started to violently rock and rattle and Aizawa made it a point to use his quirk on Inko once more.
"Just tell us what happened. We'll take care of this, please. We're heroes after all." Toshinori slowly got down on his knees so he was at Inko's eye level.
There was a stare off between the two of them as Inko gasped out several fast-rate sobs. "I… I…I should have listened to you!" Inko wailed out before covering her face in her hands in shame. "You were right! The-there was abuse going on!" Inko's voice was muffled behind her hands as she shook her head so violently that her hair whipped out of it's bun.
Aizawa put his hands in his pockets and kept his eyes on Inko. He made the mistake of blinking and a shard from a broken plate when flying up to Inko at an alarming rate. Thankfully, when he focused on her again the shard fell to the ground.
Inko sniffled as she hiccuped violently between her gasping sobs. "I didn'-didn't want to believe it! I rejected the id-idea because-because Fujiwara… he's so nice and charming!"
"I knew it." Aizawa grunted.
"I don't think you did…" Masaru whispered suddenly from behind Aizawa, causing Aizawa to turn and look at him. "I mean… you did… but I don't think you thought of the extent of it." Masaru swallowed down, what looked to be, a lump in his throat.
"What do you mean?" Toshinori's head never whipped around so fast.
Inko gritted her teeth as it sounded like she was trying to suppress a scream that was threatening to escape her body. A small whine left her mouth as she kept her teeth gnashed in an attempt to contain her anger. This was not a mother angry that another man had hit her child.
This was a mother on a warpath.
"It's on this…" Mitsuki unplugged a flashdrive from the laptop on the coffee table. She then carefully tossed it to Toshinori; who caught it with ease. "It's not just Izumi… there are other girls… there are… oh god… there are-"
"There are little girls." Masaru snarled out dangerously. "Pictures I… oh my god…" He then covered his mouth with his hands as he suddenly looked sick.
"Wait. Slow down." Aizawa was ashamed to admit it but with the context he was starting to receive it wasn't painting a good picture. It made his heart rate spike with anger. "Are you implying what I think you all are implying!?" He suddenly snapped. Aizawa's hair shot up into the air as his eyes started to glow.
"No… No. I mean… not… Izumi. Izumi wouldn't let her guard down like that. Right?" Toshinori almost seemed to laugh as he looked at Mitsuki and Inko. "Right?" His voice almost sounded small as it was clear. Toshinori wanted to deny it all the same as Inko had. Because it was Izumi they were talking about here.
"... Fujiwara told me he was quirkless… I believe him…" Inko suddenly whispered seriously. "But that was a fucking lie." Tears continued to build into her eyes as she then let out another heart-wrenching sob as she squeezed her eyes tight. Inko lowered her body to the floor and had her head touching the carpet. "He has a paralysis quirk… the video…" She managed to wheeze out between her cries. "Izumi…my baby… she-she… I'm sorry… I'm sorry…I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
Aizawa's quirk had long been forgotten at this point and because of that almost everything that was on the floor floated up, up, up, before slamming back down.
Inko finally released that scream she's been holding in. It had to be the most blood-curdling and agonizing scream Aizawa ever heard as it echoed off of the walls. It was this scream that made Aizawa think back to all of the tell-tale signs of a sexual assault victim that Izumi had been displaying.
'She screamed when Mineta touched her, she's been having issues with eating and sleeping, along with body issues, and If a male classmate touches her she flinches… and I let this piece of filth in the dorms. Dammit… dammit! The signs were there and I let him in! No wonder she looked so terrified! She's supposed to be safe in the dorms!"
Inko Midoriya's body suddenly slumped to the floor. "Inko!" Mitsuki leaned over Inko's body and scrambled to put her fingers on Inko's neck. "Sweetie!?"
"Inko!" Masaru rushed to Inko's side just as well.
"Quirk overuse…" Toshinori breathed. His voice was almost too soft for Aizawa to hear. "It finally took its toll on her body…"
"Call for an ambulance." Aizawa breathed out as he looked at the flashdrive in Toshinori's hand. He then focused on Masaru to make sure that Masaru heard him. Mr. Bakugo nodded and started to fumble for his phone in his back pocket. Aizawa pushed his feelings into the back of his mind for just this moment as he realized that Toshinori was shaking. His hands were shaking and he was shaking his head from side to side as if in denial.
"Toshinori…" Aizawa crouched down next to his fellow teacher and gently put a hand on Toshinori's shoulder. Toshinori's sunken eyes were wide as he stared down at the ground in horror. "I know you're in shock, but you need to come back to me."
"... Aizawa… What are we going to do? This… this is beyond what I could have ever expected. Izumi- Aizawa! Izumi needs help! She's been bottling this up for… god knows how long. She has to be on the verge of exploding!"
"I know, and as much as I want to run back to the dorms and talk to her about this; we need to get the police involved first and foremost."
Toshinori gnashed his teeth in anger. "Dammit!" He then punched the ground with one of his fists; a spray of blood leaving his mouth like a fountain at the same time. "When I get my hands on him-..." Toshinori decided to not finish that sentence as he now started to stand. "I'll call Detective Tsukauchi down here and have him look at the flashdrive. Aizawa, you need to go back to the dorms. Someone needs to talk to Izumi right now."
Aizawa wanted to protest; he even opened his mouth to do so, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Aizawa knew that Toshinori was right on some level. Izumi needed someone to talk to, but at the same time: Aizawa had an inkling that maybe he wasn't the right person for the job. At least, he shouldn't confront her alone less that might trigger panic in Izumi. The last thing he wanted was for Izumi to be scared of him as well; especially after his mistake earlier on in the day.
He felt at a bit of a crossroad as he stared down at Toshinori. "Okay… you're right. Izumi does need help. However; I want to know what's on that flash drive for myself. Understood?"
"Of course." Toshinori's eyes hardened. "Truthfully, I think we both already know what's on it…"
Aizawa felt sick, but he made sure not to show it. "I know." He turned away from Toshinori and out of the apartments. Once he was alone in the elevator, Aizawa proceeded to punch a new dent into the side of the elevator wall.
"Fujiwara… you better hope I don't find you first you piece of filth." Aizawa ground his teeth as his hands and limbs shook in anger.
Even though Aizawa should have gone straight to the dorms, he just couldn't do it. He was too angry and at risk of scarring and already scared Izumi in his enraged state. No, Aizawa decided to drive around the apartment complex.
Aizawa secretly hoped he ran into Fujiwara on this long drive.
"You don't deserve to be a hero. Give me my quirk back and get out of my sight. I can't believe I wasted my time with you."
Izumi opened her eyes and, even though she was face down, she brought one of her hands up to touch her face. Her fingers came back wet. 'I was crying in my sleep…' Her mind sluggishly told her as she pushed herself up on her hands.
The dream was still fresh in her mind-
Izumi almost sobbed out as she thought about it. She covered her mouth and nose with her hands to stifle any crying.
'It was just a dream.' She tried to tell herself, but it had felt so real, too real.
It wasn't just her mentor berating her, beating her down, and demanding his quirk back, it was somehow worse than that. Toshinori had her… He had her pinned and his hands were running up her shirt-
Izumi shoved her face directly into her pillow and screamed. 'Get out of my head! Get out!' She wanted that image burned from her memory permanently. Well, that wasn't what Izumi really wanted, no, what she really wanted was to go back to normal. 'When will it stop? When I'm dead?'
Izumi swallowed hard as her body started to lightly tremble. 'Be a big girl, Izumi. Sit up and stop crying.' Her mind scolded her. Sucking in several breaths, Izumi slowly peeled herself off of her pillow and painstakingly sat up. She sniffled, and rubbed her tears away with her arm. "I'm… okay." She whispered to herself before unraveling herself from her blanket.
Once free from her blanket prison, Izumi immediately went to check her phone. She was surprised it wasn't dead as it wasn't plugged in when she had slept. Sitting at a cool 19%. Izumi immediately noticed that she had some texts and missed phone calls. Before she checked on those, she looked at the time.
2:16 PM her phone read. She did the math, and it took her a rather long time to actually figure it out as her mind seemed to lag. 'I slept for about five hours, give or take.' her best and yet worst sleep yet.
Izumi then checked on her phone calls. Granted, it took her a minute, her motor function was lacking and her head was starting to spin.
four missed calls from: Momma.
two missed call from: LADY explosion murder.
One missed call from: Why couldn't Kacchan have your personality?
Two missed calls from: Not my dadmight.
Four missed calls from: Caterpillar man.
One missed call from: Lemillio.
One missed call from: an unknown number.
A spike of fear impaled Izumi's body as anxiety gripped at her throat like a cold hand. "Oh, Jesus Christ, what did I do?!" Izumi wheezed out and promptly stood up from her bed.
'Too fast! Izumi stumbled as her head continued to violently spin. She fell to her knees with a loud 'thump!' A loud groan left her mouth and she squeezed her eyes tight in an attempt to get her head to level out. She then felt slightly nauseous as her stomach churned. Thankfully, after a moment or two her dizziness subsited enough for her to re-open her eyes.
Even though her head still swam and she still felt sickly, Izumi managed to unlock her phone again to check her text messages next.
Lemillion: Hey, call me ASAP, Kohai. It's urgent.
Todoroni : I'm sorry, Izumi. Mirio knows. It wasn't my intention to tell him but Eri told him and he wanted me to confirm. don't be too angry with me, please. He seemed really concerned, truthfully, we all are.
"Fuck!" Izumi couldn't stop the curse from leaving her mouth. 'The last thing I wanted was more people knowing…' Izumi bit and gnawed at her lips as her anxiety started to grow.
Momma?: Call me.
Call me.
Call me.
Call me.
Sweetie, call me.
Call me.
Call me.
Please call me.
Izumi Midoriya. Call me. This is an emergency and I need to talk to you urgently. Call me.
"..." Izumi rubbed her eyes vigorously and reread the messages. They were all rapid fire sent within a five minute span… three hours ago. "I'm dead." She flopped onto her back dramatically. "Might as well start planning my funeral now." She groaned as put her face into her hands.
She laid like that for a few good minutes. Her spinning head and nausea were dying down and she wondered if maybe she'd fall back asleep and not deal with everything going on right now. But nothing good ever lasts as there was a knock at her door.
Izumi brought her hands down and craned her neck to look at her door. 'I don't want to talk to anyone right now.' She decided and figured whoever it was would get the message.
The knocking did not go away.
After what felt like an outrageously long time, Izumi finally forced herself to her feet. Her whole body swayed violently to one side and she stumbled into her dresser, accidentally knocking down some of her All Might figurines in the process. 'I don't feel so great.' her vision blurred for a second or two as she tried to get her bearings.
Still, the knocking persisted. Izumi's legs wobbled as she walked towards her door, using her wall and dresser as a guide. Her vision cleared by the time she got to her dorm door. Before she opened it, Izumi steadied herself and made sure her feet were planted firmly on the ground. Finally, Izumi opened her door.
She expected to see someone standing there, but saw nothing, except purple just below her line of sight. Izumi blinked and then looked down. "Izumi-" Mineta started to say, but Izumi immediately went to slam her door shut. Only Mineta was quick and wedged himself between Izumi's door frame to stop the door from shutting.
"Wait!-"
"Leave me alone!-" Izumi was this close to using her quirk to shut the door on Mineta. Mineta's face was smooshed between the door and door frame and suddenly flowers were thrusted into her face.
"I gotu fwowers…" Mineta almost seemed to whine in desperation.
The flowers were quite lovely looking. For a moment Izumi thought they were daisies as they were white in color, but no, the petals were pointed and too few and there wasn't a big bright yellow spot in the center.
Izumi rolled her eyes and reopened the door. "You have thirty seconds or I swear to god, I will drop-kick you out of existence." She growled.
This allowed Mineta to fall to the floor. He rubbed his face before reaching out with the flowers once again. "I…I'm sorry." Mineta breathed out.
"..." Izumi blinked in surprise and wondered if this was her dizzy mind making things up or not. "What?" She whispered as she was sure there was no way she heard Mineta right.
"You're really going to milk this, okay, I deserve it… I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry I snapped your bra-strap and I'm sorry I called you sensitive. I guess I was just angry you struck me so hard. Most of the other girls hold back when hitting me, so I guess yours was the wake-up call I needed."
Izumi felt almost at a loss for words. Her head seemed to spin even faster if that were possible and her stomach was still churning. Still, she reached out and grabbed the small bouquet of white flowers from Mineta's hand.
"Did…did Kaminari put you up to this?" It was the most logical thing she could think of. Kaminari knew that she had been sexually assaulted and now out of the blue Mineta was apologizing? She could see it now, Kaminari either shocking Mineta or just straight up demanding that Mineta apologize to her for what he did.
"No, and before you ask, yes, Mr. Aizawa did demand I write you, and all the other girls in class, a letter of apology, and I did… but I wanted to tell you I'm sorry. I mean… you're still my friend and I don't want to ruin our friendship because… because I was being stupid." Mineta almost seemed to deflate a little at this as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Mineta… I… apology accepted, but please, you have to know how your comments make us girls feel-" Izumi's body suddenly ran cold as she dropped the flowers and put her hand over her eyes and she winced. The world felt like it was spinning, not just her head. Her stomach took another unpleasant churn and she was afraid she was going to start vomiting.
"Izumi? Are you okay? You look really pale…"
Was Mineta growing?
No.
Izumi was falling, her knees buckled from under her all of a sudden. That was the last thing she remembered before she passed out.
It was Iida that heard Mineta's cries for help from Izumi's dorm room. When he rushed into the room he surely didn't expect Mineta to be on his back with Izumi draped over him like a rug, her head planted on his shoulder while her arms were over his little body. Mineta was trying to push Izumi off of him but she proved to be too heavy for him to lift.
"Sh-She fainted! I swear I didn't do anything!" Mineta had tears in his eyes, be it from the stress of Izumi fainting, or the fact that Izumi fainted on top of him, Iida didn't know and he didn't care.
"Izumi!" Iida was quick to grab her by her torso and help lift her up and off of Mineta. She was like a rag doll with how limp she was. Her head rolled back and Iida gently laid her on her back.
"I came to apologize to her and she collapsed! Oh god! Did I kill her!?" Mineta wailed out in panic as he clutched at his hair.
Iida had put his fingers on Izumi's neck while Mineta panicked in the background. Iida then let out a sigh of relief. "No. She's not dead. It looks like she just passed out." The pulse was weak but there. 'Her breathing seems irregular, her skin is pale, and her fingers are cold.'
Obviously, Mineta's shouting had caused several nearby students to come rushing over.
"Somebody call for a teacher! We need Recovery Girl!" Iida yelled to the onlookers.
Several phones were whipped out in a second.
"Move!" Suddenly Bakugo pushed past the onlookers. He paused the moment he saw Izumi on the ground. "Dammit!"
"Bakugo-" Iida wanted Bakugo away from Izumi right now, but he hardly got a word out before Bakugo darted inside the room. Iida was hardly prepared for the explosion that nearly ripped the glasses right off of his face. "Bakugo!-" Iida gritted his teeth as his instincts took over and he put himself over Izumi in an attempt to protect her. "Stop!"
Bakugo had his palm up away from Izumi and Iida. He let off another loud explosion, and it was then did it click for Iida: Bakugo was trying to shock Izumi into consciousness. Kind of like how people use ammonia to wake the unconscious, Only Bakugo was using sound.
"It won't work!-" Iida winced at another explosion and he grabbed Bakugo by the wrist forcing him to stop for a moment. "I know what you're trying to do and it's not working. She's out cold, Bakugo. She might need a hospital."
Bakugo sucked on his teeth in anger and yanked his arm out of Iida's grasp. "Dammit! I knew it! You fuckers took too long confronting her and now look!"
"Placing blame isn't helping, Bakugo!" Iida snarled at the explosive blonde.
"I can't get a hold of Mr. Aizawa!" Mina suddenly cried out; tears in her eyes.
"Same with All Might! Straight to voicemail!" Sato called out not too long after.
"Dammit, then call Present Mic or Midnight! We don't have time to spare!" Bakugo yelled back to them.
It was Present Mic who answered and came running through the dorm doors with Recovery Girl not too far behind him. Of course, because one of their teachers came rushing in like the dorms were on fire and he was the only fireman around, this caught the others attention.
Before long there was a large crowd forming outside of Izumi's dorm while both Mic and Recovery Girl looked over Izumi.
"Her breathing is irregular, her pulse is shallow, and her skin is cold around the fingers and toes." Recovery Girl tsked her tongue at this while she held on to one of Izumi's hands. Recovery Girl frowned, then she turned to Mic. "Call an Ambulance, I can't use my quirk on her."
"What?!" Bakugo exploded in anger, tiny explosions leaving his hands. "Why can't you?!- ow!" Recovery Girl smacked Bakugo up top with her cane. It was a swift hit that did what was meant for as it shut him up.
"My quirk could kill her in this state, young man. Not only that but this isn't something natural healing can heal. If I had to guess, her blood pressure is low and it's continuously dropping."
There were several soft gasps from the classmates that stood by. Even Bakugo looked shocked by the information given to him. "An ambulance is on it's way." Present Mic informed recovery girl. "It's on it's way, they said it'd be about five to ten minutes."
"Good."
Even though Recovery Girl didn't say it. Everyone was thinking it, a horrifying little thought in the back of their heads. 'Do we have five to ten minutes?'
It seemed that Present Mic felt this just as well as he quietly grabbed Izumi's other hand. "Hey, Little listener, you're going to be okay…"
