The Battle of the Trident.
Lining out once more at about 8 hours past midnight he noticed that just like them the rebels had committed their reserves, but unlike them who had committed the vast majority to the center in a effort to stop the ferocious push of the hard northmen who would have more than likely broken the center had they not. The loyalists had lined up their men with the cavalry in front expecting a repeat of yesterday's battle but instead of the rebel cavalry the rebel archers were sent up. They advanced quickly and began to lose their arrows into the remaining horsemen. It was an unexpected but smart move form the rebels, it forced them to either send his cavalry across the river to hit the seemingly exposed archers or withdraw the cavalry. Rhaegar, who started to command from the rear after his injury took the second option and sounded the retreat of his horsemen, they had only taken a couple hundred casualties most likely but still to be the first one to retreat was not a good thing for morale.
Gradually the rest of the rebel army began to advance and as they did the loyalist forces moved to meet them. Infantry clashed together with arrows flying through the air and hitting both sides. His left flank, the stormlanders who had not been a problem to him at all so far in the battle, seemed to have regained their ferocity; they started to really push back the crown's forces on that side. However on the other side Brynden Tully was leading a hard push into the Valemen with the Tully men. In the center it was even, Tywin Lannsiter had ridden down to personally command his men, obviously the proud ma did not want the lannisters to appear weak by his men being broken and the effects of the man's personal command was showing as they managed to go blow for blow with the northmen. The battle continued and after two hours of hard fighting the Stormlander push was halted, and then slowly it began to be pushed back. His Crownladers, Reachmen and Westermen gave everything they had in an effort to turn the tide of the battle. On the other flank the Valemen were being pushed back across the river.
In an admittedly brilliant move from the Bronze Yohn Royce, commander of the Knights of the Vale, he led his mounted men into the side of the Rivermen who had probably pushed too far as the northmen in the center had not given an inch to the westermen. The charge halted the push off the Riverlands and probably stopped what would have become a full on route which would have lost them the battle from happening. Soon the horns were wounded and the two forces disengaged once more, archers from both sides covering the retreating men.
This was the hardest battle Jon Arryn had ever fought, the struggle on the stepstones was nothing in comparison to the battle of the trident. The river had gotten an apparently permanent red tinge to it even when no fighting was happening in it from all the bodys that lay in it. He was no fool, he knew by now the numbers which had once been in their favour were now even, he had seen how his men were close to breaking before Lord Royce led the counter charge that saved his men and most likely the battle. On the opposite flank Robert had success at first, pushing hard against the mixed loyalist forces and causing heavy damage but the momentum had not lasted and the battle on that side had slowly been turned around and flipped on his head with the stormlanders being pushed back. Their only saving grace had been the center, where his foster son, who had never really stuck him as anything more than a good warrior appeared to be coming into his own, his northmen being the ones doing the most damage to the royalist forces, they had been the ones who began the push against the loyalist yesterday and it had been Eddard's smart cavalry charge which had gotten them there foothold which they had only lost due to fatigue. Today they had been the only host not to lose ground, his foster son going toe to toe with Tywin Lannister and he seemed to just be edging it. Though they would need to completely break the center to have any hope of winning.
They waited another hour for the men to recover and for minor wounds to be tended to before they lined out once more, by now both sides had committed all their reserves to the battle and the lines were noticeably less numerous on either side. This war was shaping up to be the bloodiest the continent had ever seen. Between the battles between the Reach and the Daynes and Martells, the North and riverlands, Robert and his lords and Robert and the crownlanders and this one it was truly a bloodbath and the realm would probably take a generation or so to recover from it.
"Sound the advance." He ordered and his men began their advance in a slow organised march, prepared for another hour or so of fighting.
This engagement was going even better for Rhaegar's forces, both the stormlanders and the Valemen on the backfoot from the start only the masterful use of cycle charges by the rebel cavalry commanders who had been identified as Lord Dustin of the north, Lord Royce of the Vale and Lord Tarth of the Stormlords keeping the flanks from breaking. Rhaegar's own cavalry forces had been sent down to try and deal with them but had been beaten back and now only a few remained after the majority had been encircled after Lord Dustin managed to get his men to spin the combat lines so the backs of his men were facing the rebels and then the Knights of the Vale had charged their backs completing the obviously planned encirclement, that had been a huge blow to his forces but not a decisive one as the rebel cavalry where depleted enough that a direct charge into his front lines would not break his men, damage the, definitely but only on the first clash as the second they lost the charge of the momentum they would be swarmed.
The rebels obviously knew this and as such used cycle charges to great effect to hold the tide. Smashing into the sides or back of the loyalists and promptly falling back. Lord Tywin had ordered the archers to try and skirmish the cavalry knowing that their loss would seal the fate of the battle but the Lannister archers had been suppressed very well by the Northern archers under Lord Karstark. As such that tactic had been abandoned and they didn't try anything else, content that eventually something would give, though it troubled him that so far the North was yet to give an inch to the center and was causing heavy casualties to the naturally weaker and less ferocious westerman who lived in luxury compared to the harsh winters of the north and that was evident by the pure ferocity of the northmen. Even their commander Lord Umber had taken two arrows and was still fighting, the Giant man easy to see in the midst of battle, the giant northern Lord had so far killed many notable knights sent by Tywin to kill him, including people like Amory Lorch, Lyle Crakehall and his uncle Burton Crakehall and Rupert Brax. The death of the Crakehalls had ended the men Tywin sent at the large greatsword wielding Lord.
After an hour and a half of bloody fighting the forces once more disengaged, it was now lunchtime and rations were handed out, commanders on both sides met, losses were counted, wounds were healed or failed to be healed and the men rested after a hard day of fighting so far that was only going to get harder as the hours wore on.
His prediction proved right as at five hours before midnight that day they were still fighting with not much to show for it on either side but more losses. At his point Rhaegar was sure the battle would carry on until tomorrow and possibly the day after. The field was strewn with bodies so much so that it was difficult to maneuver in the places the fighting had been worst so far. Neither side dared to send men down knowing they would just be killed as well but both knew the sight was damaging morale. It was an hour later that the rebels withdrew and set up camp for the night. What had once been 80,000 rebels was now 33,000 or so thousand and 75,000 loyalists had become 37,000.
47,00 dead or dying rebels, 38,000 loyalists, 85,000 men dead so far. The bloodiest battle in Westerosi history by a large margin. He knew that it was worth it, for after this battle was won the prince that was promised would be born and dragons would return to the skies, after that battles would no longer happen, the lords of westeros to afraid of the dragons descending on them to cause such devastation, while this battle might be bloody it would prevent hundreds of them in the future.
They were close, Aydens men had passed Castle Darry during the night before resting, not wanting their movements to be seen by any in the castle. As a precaution Ayden had men scouring the lands for scouts and patrols so they would not be found and reported to the loyalist forces. They had learned from the villagers that the battle had started the day before and the trident had gained a red tint to it because of it. Grimacing at that Ayden knew he needed to get there and fast, the battle was not far from them now, maybe four hours or so, but Ayden knew he had to play it right. He sent a stack of men up ahead to scout the battle, they wanted to descend upon the backs of the rebels as they were fighting not while they slept, knowing that their camp would be on high alert, news of his victory and method likely to have spread already. His scouts confirmed that the armies had camped out on either side of the field. Both sides had plenty of sentries awake though making a night attack impossible. As such Ayden resolved to camp out in a forest three hours from the battlefield, his 14,000 horsemen, numbers boosted by 2,000 reinforcements that had been raised, hidden in the unlikely case of the loyalist still having scouts out. His scouts reported to him that if they were to guess based on the number and positioning of the dead bodies that the rebels were fighting hard but were being pushed back on the flanks while the northern center held firm. They also guessed that the loyalists had very few or no cavalry remaining due to the large concentration of mostly loyalist cavalry that lay in between the center and Vale-Riverland flank.
That was great news for Ayden and he gathered his commanders before they went to sleep that night. He divided his forces into four. 4,500 on wither flank, 3,000 in the center and then 1,000 following up at the rear to cut down any of the back line that hadn't been killed Ayden knowing that even a thousand archers that were not killed in the initial charge could completely negate their advantage as their men were shot in their backs. Ayden would command the center. Yuri the Stormlands-Mixed flank, Lewyn the Vale-Riverland flank and Lord Yronwood the rear clean up force. He told them to have the cataphracts at the front of the formation as they were unparalleled in terms of raw shock power in a charge. They would be the hammer that broke the loyalists.
The third day of the battle dawned and began with an archer skirmish that was probably won by the loyalist forces but it was a close thing. Eddard decided to try a different tactic this time.
"William, send across the cavalry, they have none of their own, try and go for a charge on the archers, but don't stick around for the infantry to reach you, as you do that we will lead across the infantry." He told his cavalry commander who had gotten the nickname the William the Red, for the great red steed he rode and led his men on. His commander nodded, and led the remaining northern cavalry across the ford as Eddard rushed forward his infantry to cover his men, seeing that his allies mirrored his movements. The loyalists were not quick enough to withdraw their archers and had left them exposed with no cavalry left to support them; their infantry was too far back for them to get behind. And so the cavalry smashed into them and sent the archers into a mad and disorganised retreat, knowing they would be slaughtered if they remained. The loyalist infantry however was moving forwards but by the time they reached where the cavalry had been they were gone and most of their archers were dead or rattled. His men had managed to gaina bridgehead within the first few minutes of the fighting and all three of the allied forces were now on the right side of the river, no longer having to fight to cross it.
Ned crossed the river just behind his men and his personal guard was joined by the northern cavalry awaiting further instructions. Right now both sides were in a standoff but Ned intended on seizing his advantage.
"Get the archers firing on the infantry." He said and the order was signaled to his archers who began to rain death on the Lannister men, the archers of the enemy mostly dead orin disarray hastily being reformed, but by then men where being hit heavily by the rebel archers on all flanks and it forced the loyalist to move less they be skirmished to death. The infantry clashed for the seventh or so time of the battle and once more a bloodbath ensued. Ned gave William free reign to do as he thought best with the cavalry and to go where needed and the Lord Stark joined the fighting on foot.
Once more the rebels had gained a foothold and it was because of the quiet wolf again. The man who was deemed the lesser of his older brother in everything was perhaps the sole reason this battle was still going on. On two occasions he had gained a foothold against him and this time he had also wiped out most of his archers and forced Tywin to advance. In Tywin's opinion there had been only a few truly brilliant commanders in Westeros. Ayden Dayne, Jayden Lott, Lyndon Beesbury, Randyll Tarly, himself, Brynden Tully, Yohn Royce, Lord Yronwood and potentially Robert Baratheon. That list had been shattered in this battle. He had not known much about the commanders of the North but he was now. Eddard Stark was smart and while not a huge battlefield presence or brilliant leader of men he used his men with tactical genius that no one ever knew he had and used his very competent commanders well. Lord Umber or the Giant as his men called him was the opposite, a competent tactical mind? Perhaps not, but where he really shone was down amongst the men, his loud booming voice a rallying call to his men, the man was seemingly able to pick out weak spots in Tywin's line from nothing and create a dent in his lines. Lord Karstark was firm and unwavering, his men never once buckling under a rain of arrows. And last but certainly not least was William Dustin, Bloody William or William the Red depending on which side you asked, was a brilliant commander of men, and it could easily be argued that without him the battle would be a forgone conclusion.
He had tried to target these men, even sending his own war like little brother who only thought about his sword to kill Eddard Stark, yet his brother had been killed by the Stark lord within view of Tywin. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he once more focused on the battle and grit his teeth as he saw the northmen slowly pushing back his men, on the Stormlander flank much the same thing was happening though at a faster pace, something must have happened. On the left the Riverlanders were holding firm under Brynden Tully.
He had two options. One withdraw his men, it would leave his allies exposed however and would concede ground to the rebels giving them a moral boost and it would make him look weak. His second option was more desperate and risky. He could join the fighting, rally his men as he had on the first day and steady the losses while hoping the prince could do the same one the stormland flank, even with a broken arm.
And so that was what he did, drawing his blade he led his guard into the fighting, at the back of course but it was enough to steady his men and gradually the northern push stopped all that was needed was a bit of luck on the stormlander flank.
"Ser Cortnay! Lord Baratheons taking an arrow to the chest, it seems bad!" Cried a desperate looking squire. Cortnay knew what that meant, he was now in command of the infantry. But after establishing his command it became clear that the momentum they had gained under Robert had ground to a resounding halt for two reasons. For one thing Robert was struck down by an arrow in full view of his men, obviously that caused some men to lose morale but it would not have been a problem had the prince not once more joined the fray with his kingsguard. Slowly the ride turned and they were once more on the back foot, Corntay fought with everything he had, and eventually he found himself opposite a knight of the kingsguard, deciding the man was not Selmy due to the less bulky frame that he knew Barristan had. Without another thought he began to duel the Darry knight, Cornay was on the back foot instantly, not a surprise but when a glancing blow struck his side with only his plate keeping him from harm he let loose all the fury he had and managed to beat back the older knights attacks ducking under a swing he tried to stab through the exposed side of the kingsguard knight only for the knight to barely bat it away with his sword and swing a counter attack which Cortnay barely raised his shield to block it, he swung with his shield and managed to bash the knee of Darry and batted away the desperate swing that came his way before stabbing through the knights neck, killing him. Unfortunately that kill was not enough and his men were being pushed back. Suddenly multiple war horns were heard and when Cortnay looked up onto the hill overlooking the battlefield he grinned as he saw the purple banners of house Dayn blowing in the wind as the sound of thousands of hooves filled the air.
"For the Torrentien!" He cried as he lowered his white and purple mask and brought his great lance to bear. They thundered down the hill as war horns balred, Ayden had never felt so alive as he did at that moment, some cataphracts loosed arrows disrupting any formation that might have formed against them, they smashed through the archers, which Ayden noted that their was very few left, Aydens led at the very front of his men and he took aim with his lance, the Lannister back lines had formed a very hasty shieldwall but Ayden knew it would not help them.
Ayden's prediction proved correct, with expert accuracy he managed to impale two men on his lance before dropping it and drawing his long sword. All along the battlefield his men smashed through the lines of infanfty with practised ease, lances and horses slaughtering men by the thousands. The cataphracts once more proved why the Daynes spent so much money every year to keep them maintained.
Ayden cut through men with his sword, opening throats and stabbing men without even thinking, his senses honed from years of fighting bandits with the Cataphracts before his lordship and then the battles he had fought with them after it, the men on foot stood no chance against himself and the Star Isle stack and the Dornish horsemen and the back had very little to do but kill the men who survived the first lines of cataphracts which was very few.
"My Prince! Tywin Lannister has been spotted." Called one of the cataphracts who he couldn't identify behind the mask, pointing with his sword towards a group of cavalrymen who were in Lannister colours amongst the infantry.
"Star Isle Stack! Rally on me!" He called in a loud and authoritative voice that he made sure was heard of the screams of battle. Ayden and his men began to make a beeline towards the Lannister, Ayden wanted him captured, alive preferably but Tywin was a dangerous man and Ayden knew he was a dangerous enemy and he would not weep tears if he no longer had to fight him. Eventually he reached the cavalry men and as Tywin's guards saw them they rushed towards them, Ayden ducked under the swing of a charging lannister and responded with his own that cut deep into the man's stomach likely wounding him mortally however the man fell of his horse and Ayden didn't pay him a second thought, another man came but Ayden cut of the man's wrist as the tried to swing at him and stabbed through his chest. Eventually he met the man himself and grinned as he saw the slightly fearful eyes of the Lannister Lord, Ayden sent a barrage of strikes at the Lannister lord and the older man struggled to keep up, his arms wilting under the powerful strikes, a swing broke through his guard and the only thing that saved his head being cleaved open was his helmet and that his swords had negated some of the damage, still Aydens balde found the mans face and it left a nasty cut from just below the man's left eye all the way down diagonally to his jawline cutting open both his lips and a piece of his nose. The man let out a grunt of pain and not giving him a chance Ayden leaned forward and stabbed through Tywin's thigh just above the knee causing him to fall off his horse.
"Take him back, try and make sure he doesn't die." He called to one of the cataphracts he saw on the floor, his mount obviously dead. The man nodded as he cut through four men who tried to get in his way and save their lord but their efforts were futile and the man dragged the bleeding Lannister Lord from the battlefield. All across the battlefield the loyalists were being crushed, many were already fleeing only to be cut down by the reserve cavalry. Aydens armour was drenched in blood, he had killed more men then he cared to think about today.
Yuri's charge smashed into the lines, his own lance impaling a man in Brax colors. He quickly drew his blade and began to cut through men of different kingdoms with practised ease and grace. This was not a fair fight, nor had any battle he had fought in this war been, but he was of the Torrentine, they had no intention of fighting as the Andals deemed 'the right way'. He barely spoke their language, only out of necessity in communicating with the Dornish who did not know the old tongue, his ancestors had fought beside the great Dayne to beat back the andals using the same methods his prince was using now to equal effect. Yuri felt no remorse as he cut through andals until he and his men reached the man they had been targeting. A man in all black dragon decorated armour and a man in the white cloak and armour of the kingsguard. Yuri was not alone however, 6 of his best men fought beside him and they had fought to get here since the battle began. Four men went towards the kingsguard and he and two others attacked the prince. Again the battle was not fair but the prince and the kingsguard were fierce fighters and arady two of his men were dead and Barristan Selmy was dealing with his opentents well, Yuri needed to kill the prince and quickly to end this battle. A spear cae out of nowhere and suddenly he was falling off his now dead horse, with a well practised move he managed to ease his landing and roll out of the way of another spear jab of a man in Targaryen colours. A sisterfucker lackey was no better than a andal Yuri thought as he killed the man, he once more turned his attention to the prince and saw that another of his men had died to him and on th other side the knight had killed two more, making the odds two against one, not good odds for the two men facing Selmy.
Yuri did not hesitate as he launched a barrage of attacks on the prince, noticing the prices injure arm his comrade attempted to get in close he got a sword in the neck for his trouble after Yuri's attempt to save him was deflected, rage filled him, he had known that man since they were boys in the academy. The prince was a brilliant swordsman even with a broken arm. But you did not become Lord Commander of the cataphracts for being a bard. Some of the greatest warriors to have ever walked had held the position. Flann the furious who had led the charge that broke the host of the grey king, Jon the black who had held out at Dunkin Fortress in the prince's pass against the Targaryens for nine months, blocking any move of The Conquers host allowing Brandon Dayne to sneak in behind the besieging forces through a little known pathway and slaughter the host against the walls of the fortress while Jon led his men on a sally out with his remaining cataphracts, reportedly slaying two hundred men himself. Yuri was no less skilled, renowned as the greatest among the companion cathatpract he had it been chosen as the one who sprared against the Dayne brothers for no reason, their skill outshone his definitely but not by much.
His brutal attack eventually paid off after a stab managed to find its way passed the now tired princes guard and tab through his ribs, the man coughed blood but Yuri did not relent even as he heard the agonized scream of the knight, he withdrew his sword and with one great swing cut off the head of the prince. A roar went up and he heard shouts of the loyalist calling that the prince was dead. But Yuri barely noticed them, too busy duelign the enraged Selmy knight trying to avenge his prince. Yuri did not fear death, he knew he would die and when he felt a cut land on his shoulder he thought his death would come for sure, instead the swing that would have ended his life was blocked. Not bothering to check who had done it Yuri reached for his knife on his belt and thrust it upwards, stabbing the Selmy knight in the shoulder, it forced the knight to drop his blade and Yuri ceased the advantage, with a great swing he drew back his hand and landed a clean punch to the knights head, his gauntlet clad hands knocking the men on conscious. By now the enemy was fleeing for their lives with only a brave few standing to fight, an admirable thing and worthy of respect but that the rebel men did not grant them mercy and all were either cut down or captured, some didn't even bother taking prisoners.
Lewyn was dead. Brynden Tully had delat the killing blow though he had apparently been wounded before that, the battle was over though and Ayden took some comfort in that. He glanced at the man who walked beside him as he walked towards the tent where the lords where to meet including the captured nobles who would be tried. Yuri the great, they called him. He had known Yuri since he was a boy and Yuri a young man fresh into the Star Isle stack and a prodigy of the Cataphract academy. They had always been close and they had only grown closer during the war, Yuri becoming his most trusted advisor throughout the war. Ayden could safely call the man who killed the prince one of his best friends. Yuri was tense though as they walked and Ayden knew why.
"Yuri, you know very well if one of them brings up the suggestion of having you punished I will cut them down myself to prevent it, a few highborn Andals having a whine that a lowborn man like you 'dared' to kill the prince is not something you should worry about. Relax my friend, you are a hero." he told the man and despite him still wearing full armour and mask he could see the thankfulness in his friends eyes as he nodded at him. They walked in and were the last to be there, Ayden having spent time arranging the burning of his falling. Instantly he noticed eyes on Yuri with different looks ranging from hate to awe to respect.
"Apologies my Lords, We were tied up with arranging the burning of our falling." He said, his voice neutral and eyes cold and unwelcoming. Allies they are now but in truth he only trusted the northerns.
"You have no reason to apologize for Prince Ayden. In fact I do believe thanks are in order, I have little doubt you saved many many lives today and maybe even the battle itself." Lord Arryn said. That was a lie, Aydens men definitely won them the battle along with the men of the north. Not letting even a sliver of his thoughts show in his face he just nodded at the Arryn lord and took his seat at the head of the chairs were his own and the dornish lords sat.
"Now I would like to thank you all for your participation in the war and the sacrifices you have made. This has been a bloody war but we have won it." Lord Arryn said.
"Not yet, we still need to take king's landing and decide what's to be done now." Eddard said and he nodded in agreement with his brother in law.
"Lord Clyde is camped at the Antlers, I sent an order for him to march on kings landing and begin the siege. We may join him in due course, as for what to do, first we find my sister in law, my men tell me she's not in kings landing nor has she ever been." Ayden said.
"And what about your brother Dayne? Is he with her? He wasn't here anyway." Robert Baratheon said glaring at him.
"Have care how you speak, stag." Yuri spoke up "You speak to the prince of the Torrentine and of his brother." Bright green eyes glaring through his mask at the Baratheon lord who looked furious.
"Enough! Baratheon, you'll respect me and my men or I'll gut you myself, as for my brother I have no doubt he's with your betrothed, if you still wish to call her that after all the whores youve fucked on your 'rebellion to free your lady love' but listen to me and listen well, if my brother helped the kidnapping of my sister in law or laid a hand on her then he is no longer my brother, he shall be sent to the wall nothing more nothing less, am I understood." He said icely.
"That's agreeable." Eddard cut in before his friend could say anything else.
"That's all well and good but what's to be done with the crown?" asked Lord Dustin, William the Red, a man Ayden had grown to respect.
"Robert has a good claim." said Lord Arryn, getting nods of agreement.
"Aye, as do my fucking niece and nephew." Cut in Ayden icily. "Dornish and Torrentine men did not die just for their children to be set aside." he said, getting cries of agreement from his lords.
"Ha! I say we kill the dragonspawn and rid ourselves of the inbred fucks!" Robert said Ayden stood up, blade rasping as it was drawn in a flash and pointed at the Baratheon lord, Yuri followed barely a half second after him with the Dornish and Torrentine nobles on their feet as well..
"Speak of my niece and nephew that way again and I'll cut through every man in this room and every stormlander fuck who tries to stop me just to cleave your empty whore addled head of your fucking shoulders." He said in a dangerously quiet voice but unheard by none in the room.
"Ayden calm yourself, Robert's mind is addled from the milk of the poopy." Eddard cut in.
"No it's not- '' Robert began standing on his feet before the quiet wolf snapped and bared his fangs.
"SHUT IT YOU FOOL!" Eddard shouted, the usually quiet, shy man had anger clearly present in his eyes. "YOU SPEAK OF SLAUGHTERING CHILDREN! CHILDREN WHO SHARE THE SAME FUCKING BLOOD AS YOU! AYDEN HAS THE RIGHT OF IT IF SOMEONE SPOKE OF MY KIN THAT WAY I'D CLEAVE THEM IN TWO AS WELL!" the quiet wolf shouted at his foster brother and even Ayden was visibly shocked at the outburst. Sheathing his blade Aydens eyes remained on the now cowed yet clearly enraged stormlord.
"My nephew will be king, he shall foster at Winterfell and then at Star Isle, a document will be signed prohibiting the marriage of Targayans between themselves, a regent will be voted on by the lord paramounts of the rebellion and shall be replaced every two years but they will share power with the queen, Elia Martell. The king will no longer have the authority to execute Lord Paramounts or their heirs unless it's agreed upon by the majority of the other Lord Paramounts. That is how it shall be and if anyone has a problem with it then they can consider the Torretine no longer a part of your Andal kingdom." Ayden said. His terms were fair and would negate the madness of the Targaynes while also appealing to the vassals, if the royal family was not marrying each other they would be marrying one of them. The execution thing also gave more power to the lords and the regency council was a smart play as it appeased the lords once more but also strengthened his and his allies persimmon, besides he knew Elia was able.
"I agree." Said Eddard.
"As do I" Lord Blackwood acting as Lord Paramount of the Trident said.
"As does Dorne" Said Lord Yronwood, giving persimmon by Doran.
"The Vale shall agree." Lord Arryn said though somewhat reluctantly.
"Fine!" Spat Robert still angry though knowing he had no choice."
"What's to be done about the other kingdoms then?" asked Lord Arryn.
"My family along with the Florents and Tarlys have decided to join the kingdom of the Torrentine and shall no longer be a part of the reach." Lyndon Beesbury said much to the surprise of the Lord's present.
"A smart move, It weakens and punishes the Reach while also strengthening a Rebel house." Lord Arryn agreed.
"And what of my kingdom?" Asked Lord Blackwood.
"I say the twins go to the North, that would allow the North to easily march south to aid us, the Saltpans go to the Vale. However I also think it would be smart to name Lord Blackwood Lord Paramount of the Riverlands and give his house the Lands of the Tullys and Brackens whose houses are both dead now, Lord Piper should also be given some land from neighbouring loyalist houses, along with that I suggest that the Golden tooth be granted to the Riverlands, this would give us a opening into the westerland and also take away both a goldmine and key defensive position from them should they get any ideas." Ayden said. The Bracken Lord had been killed by Lord Royce, his heir was killed by William Dustin and his brother and nephew both killed by Lewyn before he died. And they had learned that Edmure Tully had died of the chills while Brynden Tully had died of his wounds.
"Another smart plan." Lord Arryn agreed.
Lord Blackwood might have been annoyed but while his kingdom might have lost some land he personally had gained a lot and his kingdom had gotten a goldmine and fortress to boot.
"And what off the Stormlands?" Robert asked.
"House Peake should bend to you, further weakening the Reach and you get your lady love back, the reason you're here in the first place." Ayden said. Robert glared but nodded.
"What should be done about the Tyrells and Lannisters?" Asked Eddard looking at him.
"We'll both lords are under my gentle care, Lord Tywin should survivor his wounds but he will be scarred, have a speech difficulty and will need a cane to walk, and Lord Tyrell thinks he can still demand thing of me the fool, he threw a hissy fit when he learned that two of his most powerful houses had bent to me, as for what should be done, demand yearly gold payments from both of them, more so from the Lannisters while demanding yearly payments of food to the crown until the regency ends." Ayden suggested. That Tywin was a cripple seemed to make many lords present happy. His suggestions got nods of agreement.
"I believe that covers everything, let's begin the trial's." Lord Arryn said.

AN: Ok I instantly know I might get shit for letting Yuri be the one that killed Rhaegar, however if this story continues on I have plans for him as a character, besides I like the Idea of the rapist prince dying to a commoner. While I actually think it makes a lot more sense for Ayden to have killed Tywin, thys removing a extremely dangerous opentent I got some shit for it in my last story, spoiler if you haven't read it, people said Tywin should have lived to see his family crumble, but both my main characters are smart people and would not risk that, anyway I decided to go against my judgment for this one, let me know what you think.

Anthony fallen one chapter 12
Thank you for the review, I decided to go with your suggestion, along with Aegon being the better option. It also gives me an opportunity to use Robert as a character if I continue the story past the rebellion, maybe he will rebel once more for some reason.
QCoffee chapter 12 .
Thanks for the review again, glad to see you still reading, and I hope you agree with my choice in the end.
