Hello again!

Sorry for making you wait for two whole months, I was experiencing a little bit of writer's block and so wrote a little Harry Potter one shot instead(check it out, it should be on my profile), so I couldn't really continue the story until now.

Anyway, enjoy!

Chapter 19- The Trial

You know you'll never be the same again when you're squished into a small telephone box with your family to enter the court for a trial about you.

Then again, if that weirdness is your usual life, you'll probably know it a lot sooner like that, because I did.
Just. Accept. The. Wackiness.

I'm gonna throw up, I'm squeezed so tightly in here. "Who's elbow is that?" I asked, headbutting a thin elbow away from my face. "Ow, that's me!" Susan complained, as if I could see her through Neville's chest. Oh god, I'm so glad we're still kids, if we were more developed this would be so much more awkward.

"Please let this be over soon." Wait, how am I even breathing right now? And it's only us kids (me, Harry, Susan and Neville) squeezed in here. Gran, Aunt Andi and Dora would all come later. Maybe they wouldn't be squeezed so tightly.

Then again, 4 children is somewhat the same body mass as 2 women and 1 child (almost teenager, really). They'll probably have the same problem we're having now unless they come in turns (which, by all means, is possible... and probable.)

There was a ding! and we were slowly lowered into the Ministry of Magic.
...The movies definitely did not do it justice.

I won't bore you with descriptions, but I will tell you this: so many people were bustling around, not even giving us children a second glance while we were waiting for the others. Harry gaped at everything in the lobby, but Susan didn't even look around, seeming like she was used to it, with Neville somewhere between those two extremes.

The lift clanked behind us and the rest of the family stepped out (I expect Amelia was already in the court hall).

"Courtroom 12, was it?" Aunt Andi stared at the invitation clasped in Gran's hand. At her nod, they herder us (herded! Can you imagine!) towards the security check.

"Yes," Gran agreed amicably, handing the piece of paper to her. "I'll be going now to represent the seat of House Longbottom. Come on then Neville, Susan," she took them to a side entrance of the room, which I assume led up to the stands where the Wizenmagot members sat.

"Come on then, Dora, Harry, Liz," Aunt Andi strided towards the main entrance of the Court Hall we were scheduled to be in as soon as we all passed the security check (it was just a weighing of wands, which went incredibly fast because she was the only one here with a wand).

"Everyone remember the plan?" she looked at all of us in turn, waiting for our nods. "Then let's get to it." she pushed open the doors, letting us see the people who would decide the fate of Magical Britain.

It was disappointing.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but definitely not something as normal as this, especially not after seeing the wonder that is the Ministry's lobby. This is just a normal court (not that I've ever seen a court in real life, just through TV, but...). Even the members of the Wizenmagot were wearing demure robes. While wizard robes are different from what muggle judges wear, it still feels the absolute same.

"Enter the victims, Alyssa and Harry Potter of the Great and Noble House of Potter, accompanied by Andromeda Tonks and Nymphadora Tonks." someone said in a booming voice. The low murmur of conversation abruptly stopped.

I looked around at the faces.

Huh...? Why does it feel like I'm the one on trial instead of Dumbledore?

Lucius Malfoy POV (bet you didn't expect that, huh):

Today is a most important day, I thought as I dressed in my official robes. I smirked. I wonder what will happen. This is a turning point of history, but which way will the balance fall...? Anyway, this will be quite interesting.

I waved goodbye to Narcissa and Draco, then turned around and Flooed to the Ministry exactly on time. Everybody noticed me in my unique, special (A/N: Heh. Not at all, the main character says they're ordinary so they must be) robes.

The doors of the court opened while I was just sitting in my chair between Rosier and Avery (we are not friends, but we share mutual views, so I could bear this).

"Enter the victims, Lady Alyssa and Master Harry Potter of the Great and Noble House of Potter, accompanied by Andromeda Tonks and Nymphadora Tonks." I felt my lips curl into a sneer and hurriedly rearranged my features.

What are the twins who defeated the Dark Lord doing with such trash? And I believed they were worthy of my loyalty, extremely powerful.

No, I shouldn't make hasty judgements. It is quite possible that there's some reason I do not know which is why they are with the Tonks, of all people. Let us watch and see.

Alyssa POV:

A wizard who looked a few decades younger than Dumbledore stood at the judge's post. "Will the accused not be presented to the court?"

"He will be here shortly." With impeccable timing, the doors to the court hall opened again (we were sitting in the witness gallery). Dumbledore walked into view with a few Aurors by his side (Probably as a formality, nothing else), and...

The problem was that he was wearing eye-scorching lime-colored robes splattered with violet spots.

"My eyes...!" Harry turned his head away and towards the stands, where the members of the Wizenmagot were wearing sombre black robes. Some of them were wincing while looking at Dumbledore's dress, but none of them were turning away to protect their eyes like we did, almost as if they were used to it.

I bore it too and looked straight at Dumbledore with a curious expression.

...He's Gandalf. For sure. This is ridiculous.

"Enter the accused, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore!" there came the voice again. Where was it coming from?

"Is the defense ready to begin?" the ancient judge said more than asked.

"We are, Your Honor." huh, so the judge is pretty important.

"As is the Prosecution."

"Very well then. Court scribe, take note. The trial has begun." The judge said out loud to the silent room, then read aloud from a paper next to him. "The accused Albus Dumbledore stands with the following: Disrespect of the will of the dead, the neglect of two children, and is an accessory to the abuse of said children." he glanced up. "Where are the abusers?"

"The Prosecution has waived their presentation until the time of their testimony with respect towards the children of the House of Potter." Some stranger said smoothly.

He focused back on Dumbledore's defendant. "How does the defendant plead?"

"Not guilty on all charges." A wave of murmurs spread across the room. I smirked mentally. So that was how he wanted to play it, huh?

Then a lot of boring, unimportant stuff happened (including the unpleasantness of seeing our aunt and uncle again, hooray), and I'm not going to narrate all of it since that would just make my throat sore, but the main point is...

"Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, you are seen as guilty on all charges. You will be under house arrest for two years and removed as Headmaster of Hogwarts effective immediately. However, you may continue your duties as the Alchemy Professor at Hogwarts, once your house arrest is over."

This was my doing. Though I'm exaggerating just a bit. I simply said to Amelia, "If he isn't at Hogwarts, we'll all die".

I love knowing people who can make powerful decisions!

Dumbledore was walking back outside the court hall. I ran to catch up. No one stopped me. "Mister Dumbledore," I called out. "Yous aid that Harry and I would only be safe when we were living with someone with our mother's blood." I said quietly. "But since there are two of us, and we both have Mom's blood, couldn't we have protected each other even if we lived alone?" His eyes widened. "Think on that."

I spun around and walked back towards my family, barely hearing what he said next: "Most impressive, Alyssa. I'm sure we can expect great things from you."

And those were the first direct words Albus Dumbledore said to me.
