I live!
Hello readers, I'm back with the new chapter of the story (which is quite good, if I do say so myself), and I'm also sorry that it took a ridiculous amount of time again.
You see, when I start writing a story, I just see a few important events and make a rough plotline by stringing them together. The problem is what to string them with (I mean, what to write in the filler/not particularly important in the plot chapters)
So... yeah. Sorry. And I hope you enjoy this chapter!
Chapter 20- A little bit of a panic
I stared at the deceptively unassuming envelope on my desk like how a mouse reacts when it sees a cat bearing down on it.
While this could be an opportunity, it's also very dangerous and, if I happen to mess up replying to this letter, I may eventually cause the downfall of the House of Potter. This is not an exaggeration.
The letter was sealed by the Malfoy crest.
I grimaced when I first saw it. "Tilly, when did this arrive?"
Tilly, who had brought the invitation (served on a silver tray, amusingly), said, "It only arrived a few minutes ago, Miss Alyssa. An eagle owl came with an invitation from one of the Sacred twenty-eight and addressed to the Head of the House, so it had to be served like this."
...It seems that Tilly also dislikes all this useless flair.
"As long as there aren't any guests with me, just give it to me like a normal letter. Save all this useless propaganda for when we're impressing someone."
She looked relieved. "Yes, Mistress." she set the letter down on my desk and disappeared with the tray.
And so we arrive to this point in time, where I'm wondering why the heck the Malfoys wanted to contact me.
I tentatively picked up the letter and peeled back the seal. It broke with a crack! I winced. No matter if it's meant to be broken I just always don't like things cracking for some reason.
After quickly scanning the letter, my mind swirled with confusion.
Esteemed Lady Alyssa Dorea Potter, head of the Ancient and Noble House of Potter,
I, Lucius Abraxas Malfoy, Lord of The Ancient and Noble House of Malfoy, invite you to dine with myself, my wife, Lady Narcissa Malfoy, and the Heir of my House, Draco Lucius Druella Malfoy, on the 5th of September to celebrate your return to the wizarding world.
We shall expect your owl by tomorrow, and if you have not replied by then I will assume that you accepted my invitation.
Best Regards, Lucius Abraxus Malfoy, Head of the Ancient and Noble House of Malfoy.
After staring at the letter, I calmly put it down and took a deep breath, coming to a conclusion.
Bursting out the door, I shouted, "Aunt Andi! HEEEEELLLLLPPP!"
...I know nothing about wizard's politics or etiquette.
So... yeah. I'm sorry again that this came out so late and short, I was extremely stuck with the letter for like a month and eventually decided to get it over with. This... is not the best chapter and I am disappointed with myself. Sheesh.
Still, I hope you enjoyed! Please review!
