While David had been planning for his honeymoon with Mary Margaret, Killian had been planning a special getaway for his own special lady, Emma.

Making sure to pack all of Emma's favorite treats, and one more most important item, the two sailed away to the open sea, where they would have plenty of privacy.

Every time Emma had said something about Killian wanting to take her on a sail, just the two of them, for the whole week that David and Mary Margaret were on their honeymoon, her friends all had a knowing look.

Emma would admit that she was having her own suspicions too about the reason, but was afraid to say it out loud for fear something would cause it not to happen.

But now that they were finally heading toward open water, she felt she could fully believe that soon she and Killian would be making promises to be together forever.

Killian had racked his brain, trying to come up with the absolute perfect way to ask Swan to be his forever. He knew he wanted to do it on the water, since they both had a great love of the sea and sailing, but just how to ask remained a mystery.

How to convey to the woman who ruled his very soul that he never wanted to be parted from her?

Emma loved Killian more than she had ever loved anything in her life. She had never known what home felt like until she was wrapped up in his arms. With Killian, Emma felt desired and adored. He always put her first, always insisted on paying attention to every little detail to bring her the most happiness.

So it was really no surprise that for their private voyage Killian was insisting on waiting on Emma hand and foot. She tried to help, but Killian poured her a glass of wine, set her on a lounge chair where she would have a lovely view, and commanded her to relax while he got everything ready.

She thought about just telling him her answer would be "Yes" so that they could get on with their own special way of celebrating, but she didn't have the heart to ruin whatever grand gesture Killian had planned.

Killian wished he could control the night sky, so the moon and stars would shine at their brightest. Emma deserved perfection. And he wanted the memory to be one she would cherish for her entire life.

For Emma, just being with Killian was the most romantic thing. Especially when it was just the two of them out on the water.

But Killian was determined to create the air of magic his true love deserved.

His arms were wrapped around her as he whispered in her ear.

"There are times I look at you and I can hardly breathe. You're so beautiful I can scarcely believe you're real."

Turning her around and taking her by the hand, he dropped down to one knee. His eyes were vulnerable and full of love as he gazed up at her.

"Emma Swan, will you grant me the honor of marrying me?"

Emma's eyes shimmered like the night sky with tears of joy. To Killian, her smile was as radiant as the sun coming out after the most terrible storm. And then she whispered the most beautiful thing he had ever heard.

"Yes."
